Watch this ALONE & WITH HEADPHONES
HONESTLY, WHAT IN THE BDSM did I just watch. There were some really harsh moments - actually the entire movie was extremely HARDCORE. I had to pause it many times just to ask myself "Really What are you watching", but obviously I kept watching to finish.
The story started off very weird and gave no insight into what was actually taking place, but as the story progressed some pieces were put together and it made a little bit more sense. They tackled a lot of demons one battle in life, especially when they lose a loved one. The psychosis and trauma that occurs during this movie are eye-opening.
The acting is superb, I will give them that! They really get into their roles, but again WHAT AM I WATCHING. I was still confused even after watching the entire movie.
******disclaimer - I gave it such a low rating because:**********
1. I would never watch it again
2. there really wasn't an OST
3. It was very raw... a little too hardcore for me in the beginning

WOW
Ok so first this show took FOREVER to be Eng subbed but once it was I went straight for it. The teaser was intense so it's obvious the movie itself would be too. If you're not into intense sexual content and basically rape this IS NOT the show for you. Believe it or not it had a relatively good storyline/plot. The actors really drew me in throughout the whole movie and I'm not disappointed in any area. I gave it a high rating because it deserves it. The ending alone was satisfying and I definitely recommend because it deals with real life issues such as suicide and kinda shows how you can find love in such rare places. Was this review helpful to you?
A movie definitely not meant for everyone
Ok, so I think all the people who watched this movie were like NANI TF!? And I'm no excuse lol. This review is going to be mainly for the sickos out there like myself who actually really enjoyed the movie and everything in it.THIS MOVIE IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEARTS. If you can't take things like, kidnnaping, rape, BDSM, tons of sex, mature content, suicide and torture, I suggest you stay away from this movie.
In my opinion I really don't understand why this movie got so many critiques and low rating. The synopsis is out there and so is the trailer and the manga. If you watched and you felt offended by this show, the blame is on you.
This movie is a portrait of Stockholm Syndrome and how love can appear in many different forms and places. It is a very heavy movie, I'm not gonna deny it, but at the same time I could find a sence of beauty in it. The movie talks a lot about life, death, love, blame and forgiveness. I think it passes a realy nice message on how you can't always blame yourself for the bad things that happens in life and that death in not always the answer. For me the movie was very well made, the acting was really nice, the soudtrack gave a very dark and heavy tone to the entire show, and the story was actually very well written in my opinion. Overall I really really liked this movie but do not recommend for the people who takes everything at heart.
I think it's important to mention that THIS IS JUST A FILM! It's important to separe reality from fiction!! So stop judging people for actually liking this type of film.

The WTF value
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE YET. I'M WARNING YOU NOW BECAUSE IT CONTAINS A BIT TOO MANY SPOILERS.Before I get into the actual review of the film, I'd just like to say this really quickly; I must be a really messed up person to enjoy this movie as much as I did... This was a 10/10 for me. I'd also like to point this out: I didn't read the manga because the film is the way I found out about the story. Forgive me for getting loads of stuff wrong, please.
The plot of the movie was a whole lot of wtfuckery that I can't truly summarize into a few words, so with that said, here we go:
The start of the movie made me so goddamn confused at first because of the whole Makoto being tied up already on the bed when Ryoji walks in as if seeing the guy tied to the bed as a normal situation. Yes, he is the one who had captured and tied him up but the fact that he doesn't show any amount of an expression upon seeing Makoto awake and being scared out his wits has me questioning things. 8/10
One thing is for sure, I did in fact enjoy the film. Not only for the story line, the music or just the actual thing as a whole, but over all, I enjoyed it a bit too much, I'd say.
The actors were a bit iffy at times but I can approve of their acting skills. They're talented in conveying what is going on just through their actions alone. I'd even go as far as saying that I liked Watanabe Sho's acting over Kitadai Takashi's more. 7.5/10
The music as far as I could tell was enjoyable. A bit of mystery filled tunes but also an eerie type of feel to it, too. Haunting and enjoyable, at the same time. 10/10 for me.
Would I re-watch it? Maybe once just to see if I can clearly see what it's truly about even though it is already laid out in full. A man, who has lost his parents to an accident, feels like he doesn't have the will to live, tries to commit suicide only for another man to save him just before he even gets the chance to. Being kidnapped basically instantly afterward, used as a sex slave(as a way to make him feel alive? WTF) and then being released as if it didn't happen; only to then have sex at the end of the film again after the man who kidnapped him tried to kill himself, too. HUH. Instant mindfuck. 5.0/10

What in the stockholm syndrome hell was that? It was like a train wreck that you know you want to look away but you can't take your eyes off it. I want those 2 hours of my life back. X_XI started off just wanting to leave it at "I'm going to mark this as watched but I'm going to pretend I never saw it" --sadly, that fell through because it's forever embedded into my brain and I get, that's on me. That is what I get for seeing a cool cover and being like "I'm watching it" without reading the synopsis. But really. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THIS?!?!
There was barely a storyline. If you had to say the storyline, it was a storyline like SAW. Kinda, "oh you want to die? I'm going to traumatize you in so many ways it'll make you want to live!" make it make sense. SMH
Hats off to the actors, they did really great, that's about it. The actors did great but this show should have never seen the light of day. I don't get the whole:: of you want to die? Let me rape you repeatedly until you WANT to live! Oh and here is a hidden secret, I want to die too because I lost the love of my life and later I'm going to try to kill myself but YOU need to save ME this time.
Like it's some kind of fucking romantic drama? Are you shitting me?! My stomach is still turning. There is so much to say, none of it good but I swear I feel like my brain is a potato right now trying to process the bullshittery that was this movie.

I don't quite know where to put this
I have watched the movie now, after stuggeling because of the reviews. And I don't know the Manga, therefor I can only review the movie. Please note that these are only my thoughts and english is not my native language, therefor sorry for typos and wrong grammar.First of all:
This is not a BL. And it is not about BDSM. I would characterise it a pretty dark psychological thriller. And you should not watch it, if you are sensitive, mourning or suffer from any kind of psychological trauma, because the movie ist one big big trigger.
Why I think it is not about BDSM? Because of the immense lack of consent. There are "tools" used which are connected to BDSM, but without consent these actions are simply abuse.
That said, I still cannot quite figure out why Yoda behaves the way he does. There are some interesting comments in the discussion below, check them out. Personally I think:
1. He is angry because of his boyfriend and projects his anger on Katsuragi. Everybody who has been left behind because of suicide will understand this feeling.
2. He himself does not see a purpose in his life. Yes, he is devoted to his work but on the inside, he is dead. And he is right down the path to commiting suicide aswell (even if the idea has not quite settled in his brain at the beginning), but he kind of "feels it coming". Therefor he looks for a way to prefent him from doing so.
3. He wants to save someone (this is the idea I like the most) from commiting suicide. The way he does that is extreme, but with these actions he forces Katsuragi to really confront himselft with the question "Do I want to live or do I want to die?" Jumping of a building while being drunk is not a well considered desicion, it comes from the impulse of the moment. But going through pain and pleasure and getting attached to your own body again over a certain amount of time makes you focus on the essential question "Life or Death".
I would not say that I "liked" the movie. For me this is not likable.
But it hit me pretty hard in many scenes because it is raw and confronted me with some questions about myself I was not aware of I had. The acting is absolutely perfect, the setting and the atmosphere as intense as the story. I was actualy kind of shocked about the intensity of the actors.
It will take me some time to get over this movie but I am pretty sure that I will watch it again.

Beautiful, Thrilling, Hardcore Love.
Okay. So first things first. NOT for the faint of heart! The first half is very explicit, and some scenes are uncomfortable to watch, and leave you thinking “What the hell am I watching?!” But. Hang in there! It’s all explained, quite beautifully, actually, at the end. I absolutely LOVED this movie. All of it. Yes, I love my cute, fluffy, feel-good BL’s, but I’m not going to lie, and feel NO shame, that I also very much enjoy sex scenes in my BL’s, as well. And this one.... It’s got a LOT! But. The story, the background explanations that led to the events that transpired, the connection between Katsuragi and Ryoji is absolutely superb. This story deals with loss, pain, suicide, and discovering love after giving up all hope. What does it take to value your own life? And what makes life worth living? Who’s saving who? Honestly, this is one of my favorite BL’s, and I definitely recommend watching it in its entirety. Was this review helpful to you?

Life and Death
I read the manga before but wasn't that enamored by the manga but the movie storytelling style actually gave this story way, way more depth than the manga. The themes of the manga are shallow compared to the recurring life and death theme in the movie. The mood of the story is very dark and suspenseful compared to the manga which sort of gave everything away by chapter 3. The small details the director(s) added elevated the story: for example, the music hummed by Yoda, the rooftop, the bottle of poison...etc all linked back to Yoda's trauma with missing the sign of his boyfriend's suicide.
The movie was done very artistically... I didn't feel like it was simply a porno or erotic movie. The sexual pleasure is something both characters used as a mechanism to feel alive.
Acting was good (especially Yoda). He was nothing like the manga character ... very domineering and scary yet also so sad at the same time. The somber piano music is appropriate.
Overall, I think this was a very good, dark BL if you are into darker themes. It explores some dark themes such as deaths, suicide, and depression.

I found out about this movie on a BL fansite and as i kept reading the reviews of people who watched it, it seemed like a hard movie to watch. Alot of people couldn't handle it, and stopped just after a little time as they couldn't bear it.
Honestly, when i started watching it, it wasn't easy to watch. I am not a fan of forcing people to / within things, and the whole plot seemed a bit fuzzy, i couldn't quite get the whole picture as what exactly was going on. The further i watched the more clear the story because, and if you look behind all the forcing / abuse / masochism, it is actually a movie with a really strong plot, and a really beautiful message inside of it. I was quite amazed after i watched the whole movie and it made me think about alot in life... about how we see and deal with things and how precious yet vulnerable life is.
I wanna say, the actors did an AMAZING job, i don't think there are alot of actors that could pull off any of the lead roles, and they did an excellent job, i am really amazed how they did this, i cannot imagine how hard that must've been, then again it shows how amazing they are as actors.
I would deffinetly watch it again, as the message in it is really good.

If you feel guilty for enjoying this movie, you are in good company.
Extreme Spoilers ahead...........I had skipped over this movie for months because it sounded...meh...but I was told that if I were rooting for Pete and Vegas by the end of KinnPorshe, I would probably like this one. I spent the first 30 minutes not knowing what to think or feel about the storyline and the characters because the story was dark and drenched in emotional trauma, sexual and psychological torture, suicide, and hopelessness.
It starts with a naked man bound on a bed in a stereotypical psychological thriller-style room. His kidnapper walks in as he tries to figure out what is going on and how he got there. The following 30 minutes are spent with him being raped using various sexual devices by the man holding him there. It's pretty confusing, and you will probably be wondering why you are still watching it (it's because the acting really draws you in), but then all the pieces start coming together during the last half hour.
Both men are entirely broken were committing suicide. The one held captive by jumping off the top of a building, and the captor by overdosing on fentanyl. It turns out that the captive lost his parent in a car accident and blames himself because he sent them on their trip and was busy having sex with the girl who later left him when he was supposed to pick his parents back up from the airport. They took a taxi and were both killed on the way home. The captor is a surgeon who is very happy with his life, where he is usually able to save the lives of so many. Still, he doesn't notice that his boyfriend is becoming more broken by the day as he works in a hospice and is constantly surrounded by deaths he can do nothing about. The captor's bf ends up committing suicide by overdosing on fentanyl, and this destroys the captor, who is constantly being haunted by visions of his lost love.
When he sees the man he kidnaps going up to the roof to jump, he has encountered him twice, first outside the morgue and again in the cemetery. Seeing him the third time and knowing what he is about to do (what they are both about to do), he decides that fate has sent them to save each other through suffering and torment as a way to want to live again. Stockholm syndrome ensues, and the captive becomes attached to his captor emotionally and mentally despite having just been raped by the man while he was having a psychotic break, complete with visions of his dead bf. The next day he lets his prisoner go, leaving clothes for him, removing his shackles, and leaving all of the doors unlocked.
He's been in the basement of the hospital the whole time. When he spots the kidnapper in the hospital, he seems a bit shaken to realize the man is a doctor, and he can't understand why he has been released. By now, he is attached enough to feel like he is being abandoned by the only reason he still has to live, the doctor. The doctor heads up to the roof, and the now-free man follows. The doctor takes him to eat and then to the cemetery to visit his parent's graves. During this time, the doctor explains everything that has happened and tells him he is free. They part ways, and the doctor stops at a lonely beach made more depressing by the overcast day and darkness of the water. He is about to take the fentanyl when he sees his boyfriend's ghost standing out in the water. He runs into the waves and tries to reach him, but, of course, the bf is never there, and he becomes even more hopeless...if you want to know the rest, you should really watch it.
Overall, as I said, I felt guilty for liking it so much, but the guilt didn't stop me from watching it two more times...and I'm sure I'll watch it again. I am drawn to fictional tragedies like a moth to a flame. I can't even remember how many times I've watched KinnPorsche. So, if graphic abusive sexual content doesn't bother you and you also found yourself rooting for Pete and Vegas, you'll probably like this too, and it's totally okay to enjoy Dangerous Drugs of Sex.
At this point the only complaints I have are:
1) that others get really judgy if you tell them you liked it and not only finished it but watched it more than once
2) that neither main character has been the main character in much of anything else. Their acting was absolutely phenomenal, especially considering the storyline.
:) Happy Viewing!

For those with unique taste
I would like to start with clarifying that the story is not about BDSM. BDSM is like role-playing between consenting adults. However, I would highly recommend this to someone who is into twisted stories, torture, sadism and masochism. Not a lot of people are into this so I understand why some are rating this film lower. This does not appear to be a big budget film, however the sex scenes were unique and tastefully done. They were very intense. Although it started quite dark, the ending is actually positive. Both characters know how broken they are but find comfort of having each other to get them through life.
