The protagonist is Maricel, and the story follows her life as she finds out her biological father isn't the one she thought and how she finds her real father. Problems arise as Maricel is kidnapped and forced to work in a sweatshop where children are being held as prisoners. A boy, Julio, helps Maricel several times as she's attacked by the cruel caretaker and other workers in the sweatshop. As a mother figure to the kids, Maricel tries to stay strong and find a way out for all of them. Edit Translation
