Competent and comfortable
This is a pretty stock standard romcom, with two leads who happen to have disabilities of different sorts. The ML's psychological trauma is perhaps treated a bit superficially, but then again, this is a movie, with only 100 minutes to tell its story. The strength of the Drama for me was in its matter-of-fact handling of the FL's physical disability. It neither glamourised/romanticised it, nor ignored it. It was simply there, an inescapable part of who she was, but not the defining characteristic of her existence. The down-to-earth acceptance of her by the ML's friends was great to see too. Given that Korea, like many cultures, is VERY ableist, that tolerance and acceptance may have been part of the "message" of the film, but it was delivered without sermonising of any sort, either explicit or implicit. Overall, an enjoyable timepass, better than I expected from a film I decided to watch simply because it had the very lovely Lee Elijah as lead. :)Was this review helpful to you?
The story was decent, but not breathtaking. It was a nice story, but not exceptionally told. There was nothing necessarily wrong with it, but it would have been made that much better if the character's back stories had more depth (they're alluded to, but never really explained) and the side characters were given more distinguishing character and development.
The music was not memorable, but not unpleasant either.
The actors were well selected, but nothing exceptional. They fit their roles well and played their characters sufficiently.
I'm not sure if I'll ever rewatch it, but I liked it enough to perhaps watch again if someone really wanted to watch it together.
Altogether, what made this drama likable was the pleasant romance between the two MCs. Their romance was a tad slow and rather surface-level in depth, but pleasant nonetheless. The ending was nice too.
What brings this story down is the lack of in-depth substance to the story. What brings this story up is that it stars a minority in society and tells their story pleasantly, however brief and general. It also had some comedic moments, which I always appreciate.

Cute story, low on angst
Don't let the name fool you. I thought she was going to be this aggressive, irritating woman. Not so. This movie is a joy to watch. I shed a few tears briefly, but for the most part I couldn't do anything but smile. This is about scars, both on the outside where they can be seen by everyone, and those on the inside, that we usually have to deal with on our own. It's also about realizing that, just because someone is physically able, we shouldn't make the mistake of thinking that they don't have any problems. Often the inner troubles are harder to deal with, because we don't let anyone in to help us. This movie is also about opening up to friendships of all different types. Each of the students was so fun in their own way. This is a movie that will definitely make you happy. Was this review helpful to you?
It's an okay movie.
'My Bossy Girl' is generally a good movie. Would I watch it again? Absolutely not. But is it still a good movie? Yes.The story is really the only thing this movie has. A woman with a disability does archery and this new to love, robotics, spaced out kind of guy are the two main characters. I feel like this movie could’ve gone in different directions but it just didn’t seem to go anywhere remarkable. I think the characters and their traumas needed more detail. The side characters didn’t get a story either, which I can kind of understand as they are ‘side’ characters. The two main characters' love story isn’t really special. I can usually find myself, in any other movie or show, rooting for the two main characters to get together but I was already an hour in when I realized they were going to end up together by the end of the story. That thought was caused by low conflict. I personally prefer feeling like they aren’t going to end up together until the last 20 minutes of the movie. Their relationship was built easily and their love story never seemed to progress or regress.
The acting was good and the actors for the characters were fine. I was not blown away by the acting but of course, it’s a movie. I don’t really expect them to show me spectacular acting in an hour and forty-minute movie. However, there are several amazing movies with great acting within a short time frame….
The music was fine. I didn’t really pay attention to it. So, obviously, it wasn’t noteworthy.
I honestly don’t think I would rewatch this. It didn’t make me feel excited and in general, was just a low-quality movie. That's just my personal preference.
Thank you.

LIT!
I fell in love with Lee Elijah after watching her in Last Empress as the villain and now I'm curious how would she act in a romcom drama so I watched this one!! I love the story and the character of Lee Elijah who has disability but excels in archery! Lee Elijah nailed this role and she looks flawless! I'm craving for more Lee Elijah's drama as a main lead.. I hope more romcom drama for Lee Elijah! I would like to mention other casts that they also nailed their role and their chemistry is good! So yeah recommendedWas this review helpful to you?

Lighthearted slice of life romantic (sport) comedy movie
9.5/10 is my rating. This is a (2019) South Korean romantic comedy (sports) movie. The total run time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.Hye Jin (Lee Elijah) is an archery athlete with an attitude. Life in a wheelchair has not slowed her down much and a dispute over a contest ends in her motorized wheelchair being damaged. When she leaves she discovers that her braking mechnism malfunctions. She crashes into a tent where a group of robotics engineering students are hosting a tent as part of a larger event Hwi so ((Ji II Joo) can fix almost anything electronic and fixes Hye Jin's wheelchair for her no problem. Grateful for his help, she wants to buy him a meal and this is the start of an unlikely friendship. These two young people and their group of fiends navigate the challenges of life and grow through it together. Will love develop between two seemingly oppositve people?
I highly recommend this cute drama. I think the title is a bit lost in translation because I think it just refers to how she is a bit of a forceful personality that doesn't always play well with others.
But that is really her charm. I enjoyed the main female character's feisty nature and the fact that she was an amazing archer. Hwi so had attributes that made me think high functioning autism. But it could have just been the genius mentality. He was sweet to the core and I thought it was great the way he fit her personality like missing puzzle pieces. Each contributed to the other what they needed. She had that "cool girl" vibe and he had the quiet, itroverted "nerd" like mentality. She liked to do fun/exciting things and he was the quite the genius. I could easily have seen this being a series as I liked the main couple and their friends and enjoyed watching what they could create. Spoiler** There were fun scenes like they all sit around and are drinking beer. One of the friends is like here drink up and he is like I am one of those people that lack the metabolite to break down alcohol (only in way more technical terms) and our "cool" female lead is basically like shut it and drink your beer. And he got quite drunk but had a lot of fun. She brings him home and is apologetic because I don't think she realized he would get as drunk as he did. But his mom actually thanks her for exposing him to life. Same when, later, she encourages him to drive but they get in an accident. Mom comes and she thinks she will be mad because she is the one that encouraged him to get his driver's license but she says no-one was hurt and it was basically good for him. I loved the mom. With only a little over an hour and a half it was well paced, believable and my main critique is it left you wanting more only because the characters were so enjoyable. They did not fully tell us what happened to put her in the wheel chair nor whether, or not, the main male lead had a psychological condition or was just severely socially inexperienced to the point it made him seem like he might have autism. It ended well/happy. Enjoyed this immensely and would encourage others to watch it.

I disliked the chemistry between the two leads. They didn't seem much like a couple, but more friends.
The side characters added some fun comic relief between more serious scenes.
The story but was predictable but light.
I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it really wasn't too bad at all.
