MUST WATCH CDRAMA OF 2020

REALLY ITS SO GOOD
AND THE LEAD ACTRESS ALSO A FREAKIN TSUNDERE LMAOOOO πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Let me first tell you, I initially thought this is was just one of those cdramas where its all clichΓ© and cringey, But no, it's not. I can assure you its a well made cdrama. Really! Just a perfect balance of romance and comedy, though they have some serious scenes but they act well through it. That's all, I really recommend you guys start watching this before 2020 ends! Have fun!

Stay for Romance, FF for Everything Else

This show has really good ML and FL chemistry, acting, and dialogue between them. Everything else is ok to actively detrimental to the show: the nonsensical business plots with analysts acting as hardened police detectives, the ridiculous tear allergy that doesn't really even matter that much because she just goes to the hospital and everything is fine, the absolutely snooze fest second couple which the show spends way too long on and doesn't matter to the main plot at all, the number of K-drama-esque cliches like people slow motion falling into each other and their lips land on each other...

The biggest sin of this story is how the FL loses all her agency. At the start she's competent and shows the ML that she's grown up from her past and isn't just someone who needs help all the time. The rest of the show is her needing help all the time. Her entire character arc builds to the point when she finds out about her dad's demise, but then the story doesn't let her do anything to giver her character resolution. Her very personal story about how her dad died due to corporate greed is written in a way where she contributes nothing to the outcome of her own character arc. She regresses and turns back into a damsel in distress.

Everything about the romance between the leads is really good. Their banter and how they interact is the reason to watch this show along with the cutest corgi who gets a lot of screen time. The only thing is you have to fast forward through so much drivel to get to the good parts. The show is at its best when the CP are bantering and the show revolves around them as a couple.

Pros:
Good acting
Great CP chemistry
Really witty, funny, cute dialogue
Most side characters get a good ending that feels true to their motivations
Lots of corgi scenes, dramas wish they had a mascot as good as Wealth
Most hilarious mother/son-in-law scene in any drama
Good last episode

Cons:
Bad character writing for FL
Horrendous secondary couple in terms of acting, writing, chemistry
More bad than good scenes with company politics
Lots of cliches/cringe moments like every race car scene, every fight scene, K-drama slow mo
Tear allergy that ultimately doesn't pay out in any creative way, they just forget about it after the introduction.
Really bad first episode

Overall:
Skip boring scenes with the second couple and boring company politics, watch for the ML and FL hilarious and cute banter

Excellent job

Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu congratulations!

Bai Lu is a very beautiful and charismatic Chinese woman.

Luo Yun was supposed to be a comedian.

This version was special.

This drama accompanies "What happened to Secretary Kim", "The Legend of Fei" and Forever and Ever (2021), regarding the strength of the couple. Very similar to "Forever and Ever (2021) with Bai Lu as the protagonist"

The author created the character Jiang Jun (Bai Lu) idiot and careless. Can't she realize that she shouldn't make room for another man if she already has a boyfriend?
Dinner invitations, gifts, late-night phone calls. But for the false rival (after all, he was never a rival, but the one without a chance) to play his psychopath script.

I recommend this version, you can watch it.

The synopsis emphasizes how the MFL have allergies to tear or crying, but the first half of the story was mostly about ML coming up with ways he can get rid of the FL from coming to work at MH finance. I skipped several parts within the 15 or so episodes of them going back and forth with their tactics. The middle part of the series is very cute and "simpable" as the kisses and hugs in this drama look like they could be dating in real life (they are not). The story kind of went downhill for me around the last 7 episodes of this drama as they are trying to sort out the mystery of the FL's dad died. Overall, it's a pretty good drama for me, and will probably come back to watch it again if I remember.

A cute and light drama that was undone by its length.

So I started this without too many expectations, I just wanted something fun and light to watch, which it was. This is not something with a super deep plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat or in suspense. So I watched at my own pace, whenever I had the time. Even though there is nothing unique about the plot it was entertaining in its own right. It's your standard childhood friends/crush that is explored as adults, and I liked that it was set up against a corporate background, so we got to see the leads as working individuals and not just as a couple. I enjoyed watching the characters' journies, whether it be in love or work and the chemistry between the main leads was really good. The second couple was cute too. The side characters were not all that present throughout the show, so I felt that they lacked dynamic.

That being said I need to mention Du Lei. The writers did such a great job with his character development, only to ruin it at the last moment. He went from being someone we were slightly suspicious of, to someone who was growing into himself and figuring out what he really wants from life, which was honestly just love. Even though the girl he loved, loved someone else he was supportive and never made her feel uncomfortable. At one point he and the ML lead were even becoming friends. But in the last 6 episodes, everything went to hell. He become a bad guy who started using his job for illegal gain, became pushy and jealous with the FL, and even forced an unwanted kiss onto her at the end. They didn't just undo his character development, they pushed him into the negative. He became someone completely unrecognizable. This was honestly the biggest disappointment of the drama.

I also hated the story in the last 6 episodes, especially when the ML was trying to convince the FL that she should quit her job and stay home to start a family, that he was rich enough to support all of them. Thank god the show didn't end up going that route. Honestly those last 6 episodes were so unnecessary. If this show ended at ep 30, its rating would be much higher.

However, don't let that stop you from picking this up. If you want something that's light and fun, and you can watch at your own pace, this is definitely a good choice. Maybe just skip the last 6 episodes.

Give it a shot , worth watching 36 episodes

This is a proper office romance kind of drama , the main couples know each other since childhood , loved the chemistry between the main couple that is YUAN SHUAI and JIANG JUN ,
This drama tells the meaning of love , love is sweet but love can also hurt , not everyone gets what they want ,
' to truly love someone is to give him/her what he/she needs not what I think' and that hits really hard.
The second lead couple were so so cute . Xu li and Li xiaochuan , their love story made me realize in love at first sight does happen . Though it takes a lot of efforts that Xu li took , hats off to both of them.
Du lei , he really took all the efforts but still , as we know wrongdoing will show the way to hell . All the actors gave justice to their characters .
The the songs are so so nice , specially the ' things I do for love' and 'sometimes' by Riley Wang , he was the main reason I watched this drama . Over all I really enjoyed this drama.

Best chemistry between lead couple

They just have an explosive chemistry, I can’t remember how many times I’ve rewatched their sweet moments!
I really love this series. 😘
Story:
For the story, there is nothing new... but I guess how the cast delivers is it is what makes it worth watching for. There aren’t many convoluting plot and subplot that make the story long and go around and around which always piss me off. So this is a plus for me.
Acting/ cast:
They are so sweet here. Both the leads are quite good and able to give a β€œlove is sweet” vibe. I’ve first watch the ML on my sunshine and ashes of love so I know that he is quite a good actor while the FL I’m watching Overlord because if this series and so far so good. 😊
Music:
I love the opening song but other on playlist not that memorable...
Rewatch value:
I guess I’ve answered this already on my opening statement. I can’t remember how many times I’ve rewatch it.
Overall:
This series is really worth watching for. This is one of the feel Good series that you can binged on when you are down. With so many disappointments that we have in our society and daily Life we need something Good to watched on. One that can give us hope that Life can be simple and love can lead you on. 😊

Feel good and adorable... and definitely sweet (but it's not a problem)

I decided to watch this drama mainly because of one review which I read here on MDL. Girl who wrote it said the chemistry between couple is incredible and also there isn't a second female lead who can turn life of our main character to hell. That's why I gave it try. And I don't regret at all.

It was so sweet, so nice, so adorable. Definitely thing which I needed on Christmas holidays. Mostly during Christmas I watch our Czech fairy tales (we are probably country of fairy tales, yeah), because it's the right time to watch them and they are in TV all the time, really, I mean it, ALL THE TIME. But also I need a drama which I will watch and feel good because of it. Always I need something normal and sweet. And Love is sweet is a good choice (maybe even the title helped me to choose it althought I was saying it's too much cliche).

I don't want to write long review today, so I will just keep it short and simple (I hope so).

This drama is good for you if you want female lead who is not acting like a child and she is going after her dream, I loved her character so much. There is a male lead who isn't arrogant, who is able to care about his girlfriend but also he really seems and behaves like a human and isn't perfect. Plus for it, he is attractive and chemistry between Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai is gold. Also romance here is mature, you won't see many disagreements between them, you can see they live normal life where is also intimacy. Many dramas have a problem with proper kissing and so on, it's like directors are afraid of it. Love is sweet is definitely not this case and I love it!

This drama is also good for you if you are interested in investment banks and economy. There is no much for this plot, yeah, I admit it, but I am a person who study economy and when I saw where this story takes place, it flattered me a lot. Action scenes are thrilling and I especially love one scene in latter episodes where Jiang Jun shows she is intelligent human being. I fell for her one more time.

Although I need to admit, there is a lot of cliche, second couple is not so interesting as main couple (but there were scenes which were gold too!), you can also see there character who really isn't your favorite. This drama worth your time if you want something which is feel good. I love dramas with thrilling plots and also with moral thoughts but sometimes I need drama like this. So if you need it now too or you are more interested in romance plots and you can stand some cliches, you need to watch it!

My oversimplified review
STORY: Interesting allergy to tears, being a person who typically does not like things like that, it fit well with the plot. Really enjoyed how capable both the male and female lead were. Loved the business/workplace setting. Side couple was also interesting to follow and did not interfere with the plot.
EXECUTION: The chemistry between Leo Luo and Bai Lu was phenomenal in Love is Sweet (their personalities off camera also work well together). Great costume design, loved the outfits of Jiang Jun. Music worked well with what was on screen, my favorite being A Love Song for You. Nice humor throughout.
OVERALL: Watch for the chemistry between the two main characters, the office setting, and a super sweet office and rivalry love story.

One of the Best Chinese Romantic Comedies

This show was a pleasure to watch. Not too much drama, but enough to have action. I liked the FL and the ML. The female lead has a strong and independent personality and the ML is thoughtful of her the whole time (even though it does not always appear that way). This is definitely one of my top Chinese shows.

The ending is very important. I hate watching a show that I really like only to be subjected to a bad ending. That is not the case here. This writer did a great job of giving us a happy ending that was not rushed or messy. I was very pleased with the ending.

I did not give this show a higher rating because while I enjoyed it, it was not something that I couldn’t wait for. Some parts could have been done better or left out. But, overall I would definitely recommend it.

The chemistry is outstanding! And I'm glad I found this gem.

STORY:
The story follows Jiang Jun (Bai Lu) who struggles looking for a job in the investment market industry despite having degrees in economics and psychology due to her father's death. She then applies at MH, the top investment company and crosses paths with Yuan Shuai (Luo Yun Xi) who is a childhood friend she hopes not to see again. Unfortunately, he is at the top level of the chain at MH and she needs to gain his approval if she wants to work at MH. She also rents out his apartment next door due which of course she doesn't know that belongs to him. The furnishings of the apartment follows her taste because hey, he knows her well right? There were of course the clichΓ© hindrances of love square I think? But I didn't hate on Qiao Na the same way I hated how Du Lei interfered with the romance brewing between the main leads. I enjoyed how Yuan Shuai harbors an unrequited love in the guise of being that annoying childhood friend. It's kind of like how elementary kids show their affection with their crushes. The second leads, Xu Li and Xiao Chuan were okay I guess but their chemistry and story didn't really stick to me.

ACTING/CAST:
Let me just say that it was my first time seeing Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu act and I can easily spot that they are really good actors. Boy, they can act. Both of them have created a natural chemistry that is not easy to show unless you have a good relationship behind the scenes. They were natural and while watching this drama I could not feel that they were actors carrying out written characters. I felt like the characters were written for them. Kido Gao as Du Lei is also a revelation. I didn't like Du Lei, I really hated the character and it means Gao did a great job giving life to it. The second leads though are okay for me. They added adorable scenes to the drama but that's about it.

MUSIC:
This is probably the first time I loved a Chinese Drama OST. Especially the song Bluebird. Finally, I discovered songs in a drama that would make a long lasting impression on me to the point that when I listen to the song, I will remember the drama

REWATCH VALUE:
I did. I already watched this drama 2 times. Give this a try at least even for the chemistry of the main leads and you won't be disappointed.

SWOONWORTHY!

Love the storyline and how it unfolds as the series progresses. It may seem a typical Chinese love story but still it’s totally worth it!

The BEST in this drama are the female lead and male lead. LUO YUNXI AND BAI LU’s chemistry is SOOOO SWOONSWORTHY! Very natural and effortless. Love both of them, Bai lu since Lucky’s First Love and Arsenal and Luo Yunxi in Ashes of love and And the winner is love.

The side characters are good esp Riley Wang, just finished watching his drama with Wan Peng and my love for both of them are totally biased. I also like Kido in Flipped and Kings Avatar, he really gave justice to his character on this drama eventho it isn’t so good.

ALL IN ALL! I TOTALLY RECOMMENDED IT!
