Such a sweet love story

First thing that crossed my mind while watching this drama is that the main leads are so well matched. The name Love is Sweet totally justifies the entire story. Such a sweet romance it was. Specially the initiation of the story based on the fact that they were childhood friends who were always fighting one another makes the story more interesting. I have seen that sometimes guys having a crush on you will bully you leaving no extent to the fact that you will start hating them. But actually after a few years you will realise that he was actually protecting you from others. Its a weird way of clamining you to be his. This drama is based on that exact idea. Even when they grow old their constant bickering makes the romance even more real. Each and every actor and actresses were so great. I will highly recommend this drama for romance loving drama lovers.

Binge-worthy modern romance that has sizzling chemistry

Love is Sweet is one of the fastest cdrama binge I've done - 2.5 days.

What I liked:
1) Romance - Chemistry between Bai Lu & Luo Yunxi seemed effortless & fit their characters & banter. Their kisses are so damn hot and passionate especially that neck kiss.
2) Jiang Jun characterisation - Bai Lu really shined in this role. Jiang Jun is smart, capable and I love her go-getter attitude.
3) Love triangle - I liked Du Lei more than Yuan Shuai as a romantic interest. However writer never really gave him a chance and I don't know why writer tainted Du Lei after he became Jun's supervisor. Disappointed Du Lei became douchebag towards the end.
4) Visuals & fashion - I liked Gao Hanyu's visual more because he reminds me of Wi Hajoon. Bai Lu so pretty and wore beautiful clothes. I love Jun's tan coat!

What I disliked:
1) Second couple - I disliked 2nd lead couple very much. Xu Li is manipulative & childish. Xiao Chuan is bland.
2) Yuan Shuai at the start. He was a jerk for sabotaging Jiang Jun's job interview.
3) Cooking scene - It's unbelievable that a guy could wear a full suit & apron when cooking in kitchen. How could he stand the heat?

Favourite scene:
Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai's kiss in his office. Hot then funny. I love how Jun rolled off the desk!

Watch this for the main couple!

As a slice of life/modern romance enthusiast, let me say I was not disappointed with this drama. Honestly, the plot was subpar and synonymous with your typical work romance Cdrama but the main couple oh my gosh. The producers put every inch of perfection into Yuan Shuai's character because he is the epitome of perfect husband material. And the chemistry between the main characters - one of the best I've ever seen ahh! I absolutely adore Bai Lu in dramas and this was my first watch with Luo Yunxi and neither disappointed. They really kept the show moving and had incredibly sweet moments. In my opinion, the second couple was much less enjoyable and had quite an annoying trope for the backstory of how they got together, but they were pretty funny.

Overall, the show had good pacing - there were obviously some fillers but the fact that I was hooked for each episode is a testament to how it did not really ever get boring for me (mostly because I was looking forward to scenes with the main couple lol). And I've seen some people say the last few episodes were unnecessary, but in my opinion they set the scene for a good ending and the show's ending would have felt quite rushed without them.

journey of getting into the career and growing with the budding of a sweet romance from her youth

Overall its not a bad drama , but the first chunk of episodes were a bore, until they finally kissed/ got into their relationship. This drama was so hyped and so many snippets on youtube! it started off with a bang! Even has a kiss in the first episode, but then it slowly went bland. The first part was about Jiang Jun ( female lead) trying to get into the company MH. That company is where the male lead is working at. She automatically gets eliminated because the male lead Yuan Shuai thinks she isnt a good fit for the job. This is because when she cries she gets an allergic reaction from her tears and goes to the hopsital. Yuan Shuai have known the female lead Jiang Jun every since they were young. Her dad even hired Yuan shuai to help protect her from shedding a tear. He develops a crush for her but never tells her. Due to an incident, she had to transfer schools and at that time Yuan Shuai had to study overseas, so they were apart for 10 years. Noe they mean back at the MH company.

Their chemistry is like off the charts! I was here for the romance lol ! They are such a cute bickering cute and they have incredible chemistry, Their kissing scenes are full of passionate. Yuan shuai is really good to protect Jiang Jun . Their chemistry dont beat " dating in the kitchen" pairing.

The plot got interesting when they worked hand in hand to find out the real truth behind Jiang Jun dad's death. After they solved that, there was 6 more episodes and then things just felt boring again... Like it didnt really link up well enough...

Fun fact - their names Jiang jun means general and Yuan shuai is another word for general in the older days. Which was a cute and creative touch.

It was better than expected!

I wasn't expecting much because I'm not really into modern drama as they always have plots that I don't like. I decided to watch it because my two favorite actor and actress in playing the lead together.

At first it seem boring, but it started getting good halfway. Many cute and funny moments that I can't stop thinking and laughing about. It was great!. The story plot was fine and normal as it common in c modern drama to have misunderstandings and then hate each other. There wasn't very intense moment where you would feel heartbreak nor cry your whole life out. There is one time toward the end, but it wasn't to the extent where you would cry. But it is sad and understandable.

The acting between the two was very good. Very nice chemistry and connection with families, especially the female lead side. The mom was fun to watch.

Overall, this drama wouldn't feel like a waste of time. It is worth to watch. I would watch it again once in a while

Boss-employee relationship with a lot of tension building at the start!

I loved the way the scenes were shot and the kiss scenes were amazing! I also liked the ups and downs of this drama, kept me hooked but I did feel the drama was a little too long and could be better paced. I found myself skipping some parts near the end, and some scenes were quite draggy for no reason.

Overall, definitely worth a watch if you like sexual tension between the leads, great kiss scenes, and a corporate setting. I would avoid if you don't like the premise of the boss-employee relationship or are looking for a great second male lead. I didn't particularly like the 2nd male lead in this case.

WATCH WORTHY!!

This is my favourite drama ever!! Like it was so emotional, cute, funny and chill to watch. I usually struggle with paying attention to 40+ minute episodes but damn, this drama had me watching episode after episodes without breaks! All of the actors are so pretty which makes it even more enjoyable! I loved the story!
Only thing I didn't like was how Du Lei turned out to be in the last episodes, honestly I started liking his character and how he was so happy around Jiang Jun... sadly, it turned out like that! Somehow all the characters got a happy ending except him.
But overall, I am obsessed with this drama, the cast, the music, everything! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! ‹𝟹

Gotta love a man in a good suit

Things I loved:
- first things first: Luo Yun Xi. He owned, carried and made this drama, hands down. I don’t think it would be half as beloved with anyone else in the ML. So much love for this guy, can’t gush enough about how he brought to life the perfect blend of jerk + softly caring intense protector. He manages to make YS really cocky and overbearing but at the same time you can feel his care and the intensity of his feelings towards the FL. He does such annoying things but never goes overboard and is never annoying himself, if that makes sense. Luo Yunxi is such a balanced and charismatic actor. I’m totally sold.
- also loved Yuan Shuai as a character, and how he literally wins everything. In great style. It’s totally unrealistic but y’all know that I’m here for it. I loved how he was this cocky and brilliant investment banker who could manage anyone and see through all competitors’ schemes and was always ten steps ahead of everyone, and who was still very upright and principled: he takes responsibility for his subordinates and refused to engage in any shady business. There does not exist such a perfect man. Bonus points: he basically spends the entire drama looking sharp in the most dapper and stylish designer suits. Seriously, the man cooks, cleans, and beats people up in a suit. You know you love a man in a good suit.
- chemistry between the leads was great! I liked that FL was strong, stubborn and not a doormat. She isn’t your typical cdrama romcom heroine, I.e. she isn’t overly cheerful and idiotic but adorable. I don’t think the show really spent enough time focusing on what made her so amazing such that both the ML (when they were young) and the SML fell in love with her so easily tho, but it wasn’t a big deal, I don’t ask for too much in my FLs just that they are not annoying, not doormats, and easy on the eyes (all met in Jiang Jun). Together with LYX, the OTP pairing chemistry was off the charts and they tore up the screen. Loved all their interactions, in the build up towards getting together - all the small looks ML gave her, their antagonistic behavior; those moments when she starts to fall for him back - it’s all great.
- jia yuan ji had the best character appearances ever! He was too funny.
- story was ok, pacing good, the business plot lines were not boring or too far fetched and quite engaging. I enjoyed the story, except I do feel that they could have done away with the last 6 episodes, as much as I love all the time we get to spend with our characters. More on that below.

Things I didn’t like:
- the second couple. I ff-Ed through most of their scenes especially in the later half of the drama. Their story was really draggy and I didn’t understand why both of them were behaving the way they did. They were also boring to watch on screen. Totally not interested in them except as a plot device to support our main couple.
- how long it took FL to forgive ML, including that final scene where she takes a stick and hits him. Supposedly done in good fun, but I didn’t actually find it funny or amusing. It was just a bit too much? Maybe it’s a cultural difference? Anyway it was weird to me. This was around episode 30, she gives him the cold shoulder for quite a long time (felt like days or weeks in the drama) before that as well, which I thought was unnecessary given that she was just trying to punish him for his mistake (there isn’t any doubt they still love each other).
- how their relationship never reaches the same sense of satisfying towards the end (after the time jump in ep 31-36) as it did before. Episodes 21-26 were catnip, loved every bit of their onscreen moments during that time. They exhibited a close, loving yet playful relationship with a lot of cute moments. After they get back together in 31-36 they never quite exhibit the same kind of closeness, maybe because the show doesn’t even spend any time with the couple after they get back together in ep 30 (not even a minute of gratifying “basking in each other’s company while the music plays” moments) and we are immediately taken forward by 2 years in a time jump, where they behave like an old married couple bickering with each other. And yes they do spend the majority of the last few episodes bickering, it’s like play fighting, which I take is part of their relationship dynamic (and quite true to their characters in the drama) but at the same time, not quite satisfying enough. I wanted to dwell in more cute lovey blissful moments between our OTP for a few more episodes and not be taken through this strange time jump where additional (and strange) plot lines unfold. I felt they could have ended the story line at 30 and added on a few episodes where we just get to enjoy nothing but cute moments from our OTP. (Side note: this is also part of why I enjoy You Are My Glory so much, show understands the extreme gratification that comes from just watching your favourite OTP spend time interacting with each other on screen. I don’t think any plot actually happens in the last 4-5 episodes and we literally just get to bask in the happy, cute, lovely moments between the OTP, and its absolute bliss.)
- 31-36 also totally massacred SML’s character. I understand that show was trying to say that he was always that way, but I thought they could have ended with him as “good” and it would have been fine. It was also really strange that he would think that he would have a chance with a girl who has been in a 2+ years long committed and loving relationship with another man (and not just any man but like the literal KING Yuan Shuai) and was still doing the same things after the time jump of 2 years. And not just that but he would try to make a move on someone else’s girlfriend after she tells him she’s getting married - didn’t make sense at all!

All in all, I really really enjoyed this one despite its very real flaws. And yes, so much love to LYX.

This Is A Must Watch You Wont Regret It

First of all I just want to thank the producers who picked this amazing cast, especially Bai Lu and Leo Luo. So to start it all of it was just an amazing drama. One of the best Chinese romance office dramas i've seen. The story was great too, but I would say its kinda like the usual business office problems, but It had an unexpected twist. The romance was amazing though, the chemistry between the two leads just made this drama so much better. Even the second lead couple was super cute. Im not lying but the kiss scenes were out of this world. One thing I loved is that this drama is not dubbed. Riley Wang spoke English and I was sooo happy. But if you don't really like romance business dramas, just watch this drama for the chemistry between the leads. Even the comedy in this drama was pure gold. Anyway I just suggest to watch it, I promise you'll have fun.

Wonderful Chemistry

The drama is named perfectly. Everything about the main couple is indeed sweet. Childhood friends secretly falling in love then being separated but only to find each other again during their adult years is a trope most viewers will definitely swoon over. Story-wise, it’s more fluff than plot but what it lacks in terms of conflict, the amazing chemistry between the two leads more than makes up for it.

Supporting characters are a bit of a miss though. Either in their acting or their own storylines - they don’t really compliment the overall feel of the drama. Instead they feel more like contrived plots and characters to justify or forced the never-ending tropes for main couple.

All in all, very enjoyable and feel-good drama.

101% worth a watch

if your looking for a Cdrama to watch this is the one. It has most aspects your looking for in a modern drama, there is no dumb female lead like in some Cdramas and if you like business aspects eg. investment then id say this is the perfect drama for you and the chemistry between the FL and ML is next level trust me. Having some mad detachment issues right now as i watched it in just 2 days haha RIP sleep.

Has tons of comedic moments, and barely any drama between the leads which is the type of drama i want more of. Also, there is no evil second female lead hating on FL so the couple barely has any misunderstandings between them!

PS. this is all just me personal opinion it may not be for everyone out there.
