never fail

this one big project from GMMTV indeed a great one. Boys Over Flower franchise always reach top notch i guess. each country, each version, whenever they remake it, it become big. love it how F4 quality, ability and uniqueness is different from each version but it still stay in the line. imagine all F4 actors from every version have an event together, Wow it will be a blast!
story wise for thai version, the changing of concern in their family is good enough. also the chosen actor & actresses also really did great for each role.

NOT THE BEST ADAPTATION! BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE WORST!

F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers may not be the best adaptation of the original piece but its definitely not the worst at all. Everybody know the story of a young heroine, being bullied for her class in society, but turned into Ms. Popular after a series of event had favored her way after 4 popular school bullies encountered and noticed her different ways. San chai (Meteor Garden), Geum Jan Di (Boys over Flowers- Korea) and now, Gorya has captured the heart not just the most popular celebrity/bully in their school, but also the hearts of the viewers and the follower of their story.

The Plot:
We can't deny the fact that since 2004 we have been in loved with the story and the plot of the original piece. I don't know about you guys, but it was 2004 for me when I watched Meteor Garden, and immediately fell in love in the story. As a fact, the story is not that perfect, it has its flaws. Especially, that it centers and focuses a lot in the most problematic events in the human history such as bullying, gaslighting, kidnapping, social class discrimination and more. However, we are encouraged to rise above it and realized that all of these problems can be rusticated from us when we choose to believe in ourselves and try to fight for justice and for our rights. That's what I have seen in the eyes of these young, strong and independent ladies. The fierce in their eyes, to correct what is wrong and to beat the system in legal ways, is the most promising thing that happened in the whole plot of the story. Plot-wise, I can really give it a good rating. Back to the Thailand version, i appreciated that they still kept the whole plot and the story from the previous version and tried to to make it their own. However, what I am missing is the touch of thailand culture. We may have a glimpse of one or two, of their culture in the show but I don't think its enough. It would be better if the show has added a lot of their culture in the story, yet they focused in the story of the original piece that they forgot to add some touch of their culture to the series. That is the only thing I am missing, but the whole plot of the thailand version is still acceptable and watchable, so I accepted it already.

The Characters:
Tu, Gorya's Actress. I can say that she really fit's the role. She executed the character so well. Still, there are some aspects that's not enough for me, especially when I try to compare her with the other ladies from the same franchise. I think what I needed is more like the badass aspect of Gorya. There's a scene from the series, where Gorya, had to kicked Thyme. That scene was phenomenal in every Meteor Garden franchise. The way San Chai (meteor garden) and Geum Jan Di (boys over flower - korea) is so badass that it will make you jump right from your seat to root for them. If I remembered it well, they did a flying kick (maybe) which is very badass. I was looking for it in the thailand version, but this version opted a simple kick, which is still acceptable. But knowing that it is the heroine's signature scene, where we understand who she really is, and what she really is (a badass), they could've made and edited that scene intensely to give more emphasis in the character of Gorya. But no worries, I already rose above it and accepted it.

The F4.
This! I can say that the F4 in thailand version is like DAMMMN! oooh! The VISUALS! I mean look-wise, they are the perfect F4 for me. Bright really fits Thyme role. The childish and immature man-child, really fits him well. I didn't expected that Bright would be great in that role but he did it. Of course, there's something lacking. Nobody is perfect. Through the sad scenes from Thyme, sorry, but I can really sympathize or atleast shed a tear for Thyme. I don't know why but I can't really see bright that sad when he cries. For me, when he do his sad face, I always see him as if he is smiling. I don't know why? I can't really see the sadness in his face. But his sad face is cute though, but not sad enough for me. In the bright side, his angry, and grumpy look is so hot. I think it balanced it out. Kudos!
Dew. Damn! Dew is hot, cute and just pure. I mean, it is a given that in Meteor Garden, I was rooting for the second lead too. But Dew, in this version, made me root for him more. His pure face! Well, he kind of did well as the second lead too. I can't really say that he is perfect, because his role doesn't need a lot of acting. His role is more like someone who has a mild autism, meaning that they don't really show emotion that greatly, but only show neutral face from time to time. But i believe he executed the entirety of his role well. Kudos!
Win and Nani! I mean, I ship them more than Gorya and Thyme. Win and Nani is just chaotic in this series. They look so good. Win with his formal looks! Wow! I was in loved with him in the 2gether series, and this made me love him more. Nani is so hot. with his hacking skills, and long hair. Damn! Kavin and MJ did a lot in this version. I can really see it that they are really involved. In the previous versions, we don't really get to see a lot of the 3rd and 4th member of F4, but here they did a lot. I was surprised, that I feel in love with the two over and over again. They did their role perfectly too. Being chaotic, and funny. Of course, there are cringe moments from time to time, but I am here for it. Kudos!
Prim. What a beautiful lady and soul. Of course, we can remember every heroine's bestfriends in the previous versions. Here, Kaning is unforgettable too. Prim, really fits the role. I already know that she is phenomenal and amazing, because I have seen her from time to time from other series. She is so beautiful too, that's why I cant forget her.
Cindy. Thyme's Mom! Of course, we need to talk about Thyme's mom. Since every previous version of the franchise. Always the awaited reveal is the mother. They always steal the show. ahaha. That's why we need to talk about her. She's not as intimidating as the other mothers from the previous version. but she is intimidating and charismatic enough. I mean she is beautiful too. and SCARY! I think the criteria of being the mom is to be as intimidating as ever, and as scary as ever, and she has that quality in her posture, in her face expressions and her gestures making her perfect for the role.

The Music. The music is perfect, especially the one who are sung by the F4. Fabulous! I can't really talk more about the music since I don't really understand it because I am not Thai. but the melody and the whole tune is satisfying enough for me to rate it high.

Overall. The quality of the series is quite high! I really recommend this series to all F4 fans from other versions. I think this is not the best version but still its not the worst. It has its best moments and Kudos to all the cast and crews who formed this series. I really enjoyed the series that much, especially as they are always feeding us with the visuals. KUDOS!

Brilliant start with lost potential as the episodes progress

In terms of anticipation, for me, this was at an all-time high mainly because the cast was breathtakingly beautiful and the promotions were done right.

The plot is already well known, especially if you've watched at least one of the remakes. Every main storyline of the original is still present in the adaptation what changed was the direction chosen by the Thai writers. With a running time of 16 episodes, everything feels very rushed in the end. I also feel like they emphasize the development of unnecessary side stories. I think this may be the primary reason the show began to lose its potential after the first episodes. In the end, it felt very rushed and I feel like we didn't get more Thyme/Gorya scenes because of that.

The first half of the drama was very pleasing. I enjoyed how the bullying scenes were shot, it felt very realistic and not sugarcoated like the other remakes. Adding the aspect of social media made the drama even more approachable to the younger generation and added a new way of engagement with the audience.
I loved how Gorya's character is presented as a strong-minded girl, but that feeling started to disappear after the first episodes, I felt like her development slowed at times, and the screaming (at least to me) was annoying. Tu did a fantastic job, we can see very clearly her expressions and in the scenes where she needed to deliver (especially in the last episodes), she went for it and nailed it. For a rookie actress, she did better than most actors in the show and I believe her next works will be even better.

Thyme feels a certain way more empathic and caring than other interpretations I feel like its character could have had a broader development, but for me, he stayed the same from beginning to end. I neither liked nor disliked Bright approach to Thyme, he was great when it came to the sweet moments but his face and expressions were almost always the same when emotions had to come forward.
Both Tu and Bright had great chemistry, but because of the inclusion of many side stories, their relationship felt short and rushed. We don't see their feelings for each other grow naturally and in the end, their relationship consists of them beating each other (so much for fighting his bullying instinct Gorya).

F4 bromance is brilliant, they care for each other and just want the best for their friends.

The second half of the show is where things started to go downhill, they not only skip 1 year ahead just because, but they also tried to fit the best plot twist in 5-6 episodes, they completely forget other blooming relations (Kaning and Kavin) and add a ridiculous KFC commercial at the end of each episode so that MJ has a love line, basically killed the essence the first half gave us.

The star of this half is Cindy, she gave Roselyn the dept, aura, and charisma the character needed to surpass the messy script. She went above and beyond to break Gorya and Thyme even neglected to help her son get better, all of this only to let them be together so quickly in the end. For me, this is a big letdown comparing it to the Chinese and Korean where persuading the ML moms took a couple of episodes.
Another disappointment was Thyme's memory loss, the Thai version shows it all in the last episode, the other versions make it a bigger part of the plot, and here it's just thrown in to help with Roselyn's redemption.
The end felt very made at the last minute, I enjoyed the party Thyme gave her, but in my opinion, it was very simple, but the worst part was not having Kaning there. The writers completely forgot she existed in the last episodes so I was hoping to see her next to Kavin and consolidate their relationship but I was let down.

I did not talk about Ren because for me it was the biggest disappointment of the drama, it's normally the character that I like the most but in this remake, I didn't even feel sad for him. From the moment he knew she liked Thyme he never tried to win her over, even when he found her and had the opportunity to be alone with her he didn't do anything even if he had warned Thyme he would. This was not the case in previous versions, especially the Chinese, where he fought for her until he realised he could never get her. Congrats to Dew for giving Ren this mystique that made me fall in love with him and doing soo much with a character the writers gave soo little.

Lastly, I enjoyed the OST way more than I thought I would, it's nice that they gave the actors a space to show and promote their musical talent.

To end even with all its flaws I still feel this show is worth watching if you have time and specifically if you've never seen any other interpretation of this classic drama. Overall is a very enjoyable viewing experience, with some cringe moments that are brushed off by the comedy scenes that I loved and made me fall in love with characters I never thought I would, like Gorya's family and Gawao (flower store owner).

However to the question would rewatch this drama, my answer is NO.
(English is not my first language, so I apologize if something is wrong or hard to read)

The most fancy version of F4

If you like to hear about the meanings behind the title name, read the bottom... :)

From several versions of F4 Boys over Flowers I have seen & read, including the original cartoon books, this one is a very well thought out cinematography wise. I have enjoyed a 'not too slow' story telling... but I guess they have to move it pretty fast if they are going to conclude 36-37 original animation books into 16 episodes. The last 2018 version has almost 40 episodes.

One good thing comes out of that speedy story telling is Gorya's torture was short and not so bad, IMO, compared to other versions. I hate that part so it is a plus for me.

LOVE how they make this version more Thai!!! They must be dying in those winter clothing. LoL! Look great though!

BTW, most fancy cars + clothing + accessories!!! Those get me excited to see their creativity.

Casting is great. Surprisingly, Ren comes out on top, IMO... Ren is the most difficult character because he is supposed to be amazingly smart, mysterious and romantic while he is severely introvert, carries mind autism and he is awkward as a company.
MJ comes out warmer than expected... I kind na like that. Good to see new faces making a big dent.

Come to Gorya, I get why they picked Tu as Gorya... Gorya has to be plain, not that pretty and 'blend to the background kind of girl'. I feel like she is yelling a lot when acts tough... it is hard to feel that she is into the character by doing so. I don't feel that she is the best casting for this role... sorry to say.

I love that this re-make goes back to the RED CARD and hazing rules as it is in the original books... Those makes the character situation more prominent and exciting. Meteor Gardens kills the plot by replacing the Red Card with the Joker (card challenging invitation)... I know... Why did they do that?!!!!! Ugh!

One point I don't like in this version is that... They are pushing Thyme & Kavin as a closer pair, I feel because of BrightWin.
Ren is Thyme's closest/BEST friend... it should be shown correctly... it helps explain the mental conflict Thyme & Ren will have later on when they pursue Gorya. Thyme always wants to talk to Ren first when he is happiest or saddest. All 4 are close, but Thyme and Ren are a closer pair... It helps explain why Thyme wouldn't cross Ren when Ren interjects helping Gorya getting out of the situation... or Thyme is so sad & mad & happy for Ren ALL at the same time when Ren leaves for France... or reserve that Thyme has when he feels that Ren is his heart rival... Thyme deeply wants to talk to Ren because Ren is his only true outlet. But he thinks that he can't do so when he feels threaten by Ren as love archenemy.

FYI, LOVE Lui (Ren) in 2018 Meteor Gardens!!!! That Lui is sooooo perfect.

I'm excited to see this version of F4, regardless. Su Su na!!!

About the title...

As many know that there are several interpretations over the title name, Boys over Flowers or "Hana Yori Dango" (the original Japanese version). Sort of meaning good guys are better than beautiful men.

Yet, the punch line is Dango has more than one meanings. While Dango means 'boys', it can mean sweet snack/bun/dumpling... somewhat similar to mochi. I read the cartoon books over 25 years ago... If I'm not mistaken, Tsukushi (original main female role) works in sweet shop (selling dungo of course) as her part-time job with her best friend. So that's the 2nd interpretation of the title.

Another is about 'Hana' (meaning flowers) at the Sakura fest... While many come to the festival for viewing the flowers that can't be kept, some come for food, drink and company (tangible/substance items)

In each of the re-make version, her part-time job changes to suit plot of each re-make version. 2018 Chinese version has them work in a tea shop. F4 Thailand centers around flower shop as Gorya's job. I think that's very cute... I am waiting to see the story when F4 are at the shop!!! (Sorry to spoil it!)

I think it's the best version overall till now

Well, I've only seen the first two eps and the trailers and OST. It's a damn 10 on 10. I've watched BOF(2009) and MG(2018), they were a bit slow but in this series, the characters have been potrayed properly.

I personally liked the character of Ren and Kavin the most. The character of MJ is also nicely potrayed. So overall the casting is good.

Talking about rewatch value, in my case I'm talking about the story rewatch value. So if you've already seen any other version of F4, then also you'll not be bored seeing this version.

Even though the story is all same and we can predict the ending, but still we can watch it over and over again.

Hoping this actually remains 10 on 10 till the last episode.....

?Thank You

Gripping initially, but loses it towards the end

This was my favorite version of the F4 series. I've watched the same plot many times in Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Thailand's version of F4 does not disappoint initially. It follows Boys Over Flowers in that there IS a love triangle. What F4 Thailand does better is that
1) Our ML isn't that toxic
2) Our FL isn't that annoying
3) They introduce the FL's controlling mother early on and establishes her as a villain from the very beginning.
The first half of this show is truly adorable and you definitely root for the ML a lot more than in the other versions.

Where this show goes downhill is in the 2nd half where it is simply... too draggy. I ended up skipping majority of the show towards the end because we no longer see much Thyme x Gorya. Also, while Thyme/Gorya are my favourite couple from all the versions, the second couple isn't. Kim Beom & Kim So Eun were truly the GOATs.

The ending was... stupid. She somehow managed to convince Thyme's mother in NO TIME to be less hard-hearted and let Thyme do what he wants. Wow.

You'll definitely get butterflies initially (also Thyme/Ren are so cute) but it does go downhill later. Would've been an 8, but the later episodes were too unsatisfactory.

Not your Boys Over Flower

If you are still giving it second thoughts just because you have watched previous version/versions , no need to do that just go ahead and watch this . Now to be honest , I am not a big fan of Hana Yori Dango because the storyline ughh- love wins all with a toxic shitty guy and a damsel in distress ...Nope not at all
But here is what is different for F4 Thailand , Thyme is not Toxic and Gorya is not a duffer . The most basic thing is that it is REALISTIC . It connects to the modern world . We get to see a close look at Thyme's world , if they are rich what happens then ? What are the problems they face ?Why can't Thyme and Gorya actually be together with ofcourse Gorya's self doubt . Although watching the same series you will not feel as if its old . It is a brand new world with brand new characters .
And ofcource the cast is top notch , you good literally see the hate sparkling in lead's eyes in the first few episodes .
Overall pretty great and worth a shot

just want to share my thoughts

rewatched it after almost 3 years. it's middle of the night and I couldn't stop crying. I'm giving it all 10 stars coz why not?? everything about this show is just wholesome. the way every character was portrait, the way their life and the conflict b/w them was shown is just insane. character development of each character is something I'd really appreciate. if someone is hesitating whether to watch this show or not then I'll definitely give it a YES. a 1000% YESSS. just don't forget to arrange a pile of tissues before watching ??

Sometimes editing its too much i dont know the editor want to this series little bit comedy or not but it doesn match, and sorry saying this the female lead actor shouting too much . And the sheep effect sound like? Hmmm. The main story is to bias and i dont know its still hype for bullying i thought the story will be different since today 2022

"Bright and Tu Tontawan Shine Bright: A Stellar Duo in F4 Thailand"

"F4 Thailand" emerges as a modernized gem, skillfully revitalizing the classic storyline with compelling characters and dynamic storytelling. Thyme, the main male lead, undergoes a thoughtful transformation, shedding light on the pressures that mold him into a seemingly harsh character. The series maintains a brisk pace reminiscent of the Japanese version, skillfully utilizing social media technology to enhance the narrative, demonstrating a commendable update from its predecessors.

Gorya, portrayed by Tu Tontawan and Bright as the main leads, is the beacon of strength in this tale. Working at a flower shop, she enters a world of opulence after gaining admission to a prestigious school for the wealthy, dominated by the F4 clique. The dynamics unfold intriguingly as Gorya, the sole resistor to their bullying, captures the attention of Thyme, the group's leader. The romantic pursuit that follows is intensified by Gorya's initial indifference and her affection for Thyme's best friend, Ren.

The cast, featuring Tu Tontawan and Bright, delivers outstanding performances, breathing life into their characters. Thyme's unconventional approach, like placing Gorya's shoes in the dustbin, adds depth to their evolving relationship. The supporting cast, including Dew (Ren), Wen (Kavin), and Nani (MJ), enriches the narrative with nuanced portrayals.

The drama skillfully blends romance, humor, and societal commentary, making it a must-watch. Thyme's journey from a seemingly unapproachable character to a figure worthy of affection resonates well, and Gorya's internal conflicts add emotional depth. "F4 Thailand" stands out as an exhilarating Thai drama, weaving together stellar performances, impressive visuals, and a compelling storyline that captures the essence of the classic while injecting fresh perspectives. With its efficient storytelling and engaging characters, it successfully cements itself as a must-watch series in the realm of Thai dramas.

1st Thai Drama that I watched. It was fine.

I never thought that I would watch Boys over flowers. Then one day i came across this Thai version of the story, and decided to give it a try.
I have not watched any other versions of the story, (i donot wish to hurt anyone's sentiments), but i think this is the best version of the story (a bit modernized (the S korean version seems age old, doesnt interest me)).

Casting: it was definately good. Each and every character was beautifully portrayed by the actors. Everyone simply fits their respective roles. Actors cast for F4, they definitely posses rich kid vibes, and everyone looks so cool and full of swag and that pride of being the previledged. Tu fits for Gorya so well, i mean no glam & just simple pure innocence.

Acting: It was okayish. Majority of the lead cast being young age, i felt sometimes they are unable to deliver the expressions and emotions aptly. I felt Gorya was too loud. She kept shouting in almost half of the drama, which was a little annoying. Plus Thyme and Gorya keep fighting like 5 year olds, its irritating. Bright(Thyme) delivered weird smiling-like expressions, instead of serious emotional looks in some segments. But still okay.

Story:
A little bit of criticism from my side :
Its the same cliche story 'Prince charming'x 'Beggar maid'. Totally unrealistic (but thats what dramas are about , entertaining people & real life story aint entertaining anyone). I found it a lot similar to the 2 korean dramas 'The Heirs' and 'Extraordinary you'(just the school part (It has something like S3 group)).
In dramas like this, sometimes they exaggerate the rich people so much, that they are like everywhere, on the Tv, the billboard literally everywhere, and other time, they completely ignore their power and influence.
(For eg: when the anti F4 group kidnapped Gorya and threatened Thyme to come, what did he do? He jumped into the firepit, head-on. This is so unrealistically foolish and naive. He could've got both of them killed, then and there. There was no back up plan made no guards kept on standby, just the 4 friends, somehow magically defeated around 20 boys(similar in age). Its things like these, that look so pretentious, and make the script shallow, in my opinion.
Also, if someone gets bullied, the way its shown in the drama, its kind of next to impossible to ever fall in love with such a person. I find this concept utterly unrealistic.
Another thing that i really hated, literally kids in school, making huge decisions of life like marriage and stuff, like seriously. What would it take to make it a story about atleast college-goers, that would make more sense. Kids in school are pretty much clueless about a lot of things, and their thoughts, beliefs and fellings are vulnerable to change.
And yes no matter how rich and influential your family is, you need education to run a business. Thyme literally finished school and went on to become the deputy CEO at the singapore branch. Seriously what the heck.

But, It was not all bad and ugly, so
Coming to the good part:
It did bring on camera some good stuff (which i did not found anywhere in 'The Heirs' (and thats why i hate it)) like
- social issue like Body Shaming, promoting Self Love, Bullying(obviously)
-'Consent of a women' matters. I really liked it that, being so powerful and previledged how Thyme never forced Gorya to be in a relationship with him(which he could have easily done). He just tried his best and left the rest on her. He patiently waited for her to reply, which she did.
-Friendship- This is my favorite part about the drama. The frienship that the f4 had, was very special. I loved how dedicated MJ was, to keeping the group together. How patient, helpful and sacrificing Ren was, not just to Thyme, but to Mira as well. Not a fan of kelvin, coz he's pretty much on neutral grounds mostly, but we see a glimpse of his way of reciprocating, when he signs the deal as per Thyme's modified business model, to help him out. Also Kaning, she was a sweet &understanding friend to Gorya. This drama gives us a glimpse of what true friendship means, and how important it is for us to help each other and grow together, coz an eye for an eye will eventually make the whole world blind.
And yes, another best thing was when Thyme and Gorya had a fight sort of and Ren took her out on a date, and later Thyme got really furious and they have this fight in the school stadium. It was hilarious, all four of them, just fight each other & end up solving all their grudges, and they leave happily. (I don't know, maybe its a boys thing).
I also really liked the specific scene where thyme regains his memory after the incident, causing retrograde amnesia. It was sweet. (The best scene between them).
And yes, how can i forget Thyme's mother's (Roselyn's) heart change. While whatching, I was wondering what's gonna melt the heart of this woman. But it turned out just perfect. The way Gorya made Roselyn change her mind was just perfect.

On end note, the drama was fine, with the usual amount of drama (as expected from a drama).

The Perfected Rendition of Boys over Flowers

Once again, the Thais remade another famous drama series and perfected it. Out of all the dramas I watched, this is truly a masterpiece. I'm so sorry, this review is going to be really long but this show is really that good and I can't help myself!!

In the making of this drama, the director said that they spent over a year getting the storyline and script ready for these 16 episodes and you can truly feel the effort in every episode. Having watched all versions of Boys over Flowers (Japanese, Korean, Chinese), this is topped the charts by a large margin. It retains every unique feature of the show that makes it 'Boys over Flowers' and makes it better. From the first episodes, the series is filled with surprises regardless whether you have watched other versions of it.

Each character, regardless main or side casts, has their own backstory and played an important role in contributing to this masterpiece. Visually, the cast is perfect. Everyone fits their role, and added charisma to each character they are playing. For Bright, he has a boyish yet mature look that screams Thyme. For Thyme, I really liked the character development in this version. It is well-paced and fleshed out which makes you understand his every action. A hot-headed, cold-hearted bully, you get to understand how his family turned him into what he is, and his conflicted emotions as a boy that is eager to prove himself yet is also uncomfortable with how he is acting. Along the way, Thyme develops and grows into who he really is thanks to the support of his friends and Gorya. Furthermore, what awes me is the development of his character. Despite the drastic change in becoming a better person, you can also feel that this is the way he is and the directors managed to let his personality remain the same till the end, creating a link from the old and new him. Furthermore, when i mean that the character is much more fleshed out, I feel that Thyme is more 'humanised' in this version for the audience to empathise and grow together with this character. In this version, Thyme is more defined and has more sides to him then just being in love with Gorya. He not only shows that he have changed for Gorya, but he changed more for himself, and this is reflected in all his actions and scene and not just in front of Gorya. You can tell it is deeply ingrained in him and it is also his conscious effort to keep improving himself. In this version, the relationship he has fostered with F4 and Gorya feels much more real and stronger compared to the other versions. Moving on to Gorya, Tu really really suits the role. At first glance, she seems like an average student. Not too pretty, not standing out. However, Gorya's looks and personality will charm you in and it makes you understand why she is so loved by many. In this version, Gorya makes sure she draws the line and doesn't lead someone on when she isn't interested. She sticks by her actions and doesn't waver. She also values those she values as friends and her storyline doesn't just revolve over Thyme. She is herself, steadfast and strong. Furthermore, I really liked how in this version she fitted into the F4 group. It feels like she isn't just Thyme's girlfriend but outside of Thyme, she is also recognised and treated like a sister by the F4.

I can't stress anymore how well the casting was done for this drama. When Dew/Ren appears on screen, it just feels so calm, soothing and serene. Ren is quiet, yet he is observant and kind. You understand why people like Thyme and Gorya gravitate towards him. Once again, in this Thai version, everyone's feeling is respected. When Gorya has feelings for Ren at the beginning, Thyme respected her feelings and did not dismiss them. Similarly, for Ren, he respects the feelings Gorya and Thyme towards one another. In other versions, Ren's feelings for Gorya are very blurred. He always feels like he is threatening to break the bro code and feels like the SML that secretly loves the FL till the end despite her being your best friend's partner. However, for this version. Ren is like a rock that is stable, and trustworthy. He is like the brother you can lean on. He understands Gorya and Thyme, and supports them in their decisions. You can feel that he supports Gorya in every way as a brother who really fights for her happiness with Thyme by allowing her to understand how she really feels. For Kavin/Win, I really liked how his character played out. It is much more logical (the part about his first love) and Win really did well in portraying the flirty yet warm side of Kavin. From the beginning, his relationship with Kaning starts off right, with him treating her as not just another girl but the best friend of Gorya, his friend's partner. I am very impressed with this version of MJ. In the other versions, MJ always felt to me like a shadow of the F4. He doesn't have a strong presence or storyline and always felt to me as a redundant guy just to fill a place in the 'Flower 4'. However, MJ shined in this version. He has a unique charisma and stands out on his own. His strong support for his friends and his love for those around him makes him a very valuable character. Furthermore, I liked the added computing skills of his that allowed him to play a stronger role in the different parts of the show. MJ becomes a strong warm addition that is greatly lacking in previous versions.

I think this review is getting too long but I just want to applaud all the side characters as well! Cindy as Thyme's mum really stole the show for me. Unlike other versions where she is just this big bad crazy evil mother that disregards her child, Roselyn portrayed a mother who really loves her children but used the wrong method. And Cindy really portray this love very well. Furthermore, I also liked the reason that forced Gorya to leave. It depicts how smart Cindy is at controlling people and using people's weaknesses to achieve her goals. The storyline is so good and all the side characters had their own charisma and had significance to the entire show. They were consistent and their presence can be felt throughout the entire 16 episodes. Yes. I'm talking about Thyme's sister Tia. In other versions, the sister appears momentarily. Although she says that she supports Gorya and Thyme's relationship, you don't get to feel much support. However, Tia is different. Tia stands strongly by Thyme and Gorya's side and fights alongside them. You can see that she truly values their relationship and supports them and every way possible.

There is so much more to this version of Boys over Flowers. It is not just about romance, but is a modernised version that uses the opportunity to highlight social issues like bullying and the gap between social classes (Not just the monetary aspect). It also showcases the strong bonds between the characters and the support that you can draw from your friends and family. I cannot stress how much I love this version compared to the others. And I LOVED the Korean and Japanese versions. But for this version, every scene makes me marvel at the details (The message they are trying to bring across, the personality they are trying to show). There are no filler scenes and you can feel the effort and thought that goes into every bit of this drama. Everything and the entire story is so well constructed. They managed to show the disparity between the rich and poor so well without just shoving money in your face. It makes you feel like it is beyond a money issue but it is a whole different world on its own. I'm trying my best to not spoil too much so that everyone can get first-hand experience in this HAHAHAH. BUT WOW.

I really appreciate all the changes that were done to this remake. I have watched many dramas and the remake of many dramas and I have to say this has really topped the charts. I am still so impressed on how they managed to do so much with just 16 episodes. These 16 episodes have been a joy. You know how many dramas start off well and end so shittily that you just feel just frustrated and empty? This drama is consistent till the end and you will enjoy every bit of it till the last second. At the end, you feel satisfied with a smile on your face though and makes you look forward for more. Thank you director, producer, screenwriters, crew, actors and actresses for pulling this work off!! :')
