What this drama is: the adorable ends-up-living-together setting mixed with the fantastical and crazy world of demons who live among humans. The fantasy element is fascinating and the "demons" who are thousands of years old and very quirky are equally hilarious and just super super interesting. The main couple is freaking adorable, you could call it a love to hate relationship at it's extreme XD LOL mixed with a forbidden love (humans and demons can't be together) Also the friendships and their squad is goals.
Characters:
- The spunky main girl who sells fake antiques cause she's hella in debt because of her dead-beat dad LOL
- The almighty powerful fox demon who decides he likes her cooking enough to invade her house forever
- the bitchy 2nd female who's actually hilarious, not actually a bitch and always lies about her age (shes like 2000, but always lowers it to like 1300 XD)
- an adorable demon catcher who cant catch demons for shit (but wont admit it) and instead runs around sticking useless talismans on their foreheads and crashing on their couch and eating their food...
huh, everyone in this drama is such a freeloader XD
ANYWAY
The dialogue in this show is actually so pretty and philosophical, and the characters are really interesting with a lot of complex sides. ive never watched a cdrama before where i like all the characters, despite which side of good or bad (or in the grey area) they're on. Super impressed with the final fight scene too, and a lot of the directing and editing and cinematogrpahy is really. really good. damn, i almost wish they had had a higher budget to get some real A class SFX, but they've really done well with their resources, nothings "cringey" or whatever, its pretty high quality. I love this show. cant wait for S2. loved the dad too XD so freaking hilarious.
If you loved shows like Korean Odyssey, you'd totally like this.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!!!This had everything i love in a drama, especially the last 4 episodes, just EPIC :suspense,action,jealousy,friendship,care,family,love,betrayal,magic,demons,darkness!! Laid out, simple and an understandable story, nothing too complicated, which makes this even more enjoyable. The fact that they could assemble a PERFECT drama by adding different elements in between was AMAZING (as some drams try doing that but awfully fail). Kicks off with a Strong and hooking start,with an Interesting and gripping middle with the PERFECT ending (happy ending) .Every second of this drama was worth watching and boy did i ever skip in between. The ML falling for her episode by episode, gaining feelings but however not understanding it for he was a demon and intensely jealous moments had me die laughing for XD. The ML getting to understand the feeling he had for the FL was just somehow heart-breaking but lovely. (great chemistry, but hopefully in can improve in the next season :) ) The second leads' scenes didn't even bore a bit out of you as usually in others drama they do :) The LAST 4 episodes of this drama were just INSANELY EPIC, definite 10/10. *spoiler alert* the park where FL died in ep 23 and at the start of ep 24 ML's flashback of their sweet memories just had me bawling my eyes out :( . The green screen work in ep 24 just had me SHOOK. ML's initial wish was so be immortal but after having met the FL he gained emotions (for what demons did not have), feelings and decided to bring FL back to life, which put the most stupid smile on my face :) WELL DONE TO THE ACTORS, DIRECTOR AND EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS DREAM AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!! ABSOLUTELY HYPED FOR SEASON 2 (which is said to revolve around ML AND FL's sweet love story)
What I loved:
- THE FLIPPIN' STORY ITSELF:such a unique drama i swear it had every element you would want in a drama in it!!!!!! From the thrilling action, suspense, jealousy of the characters, twists and the demons itself made the story more lovable.
-The ML falling for the FL :'( just really and absolutely cute, even though we got a minimum amount of moments (only 1 kiss scene :( ) hopefully as said in the ENDING of SEASON 1 EP 24, the next season which revolves around the love story between ML and FL, hopefully we get tons more moments.
-How the FL cared for the ML and vise versa.
-THE SUSPENSE I HAD AT THE END OF EACH EP THOUGH
-The fact that they could mix different elements in between was EXTRA ORDINARY!!
-The green screening was actually an acceptation and not lame.
-The numbers of episodes were simply perfect and easy to keep up with.
-EVERYTHING REALLY.
What i didn't enjoy:
-the ML and FL did lack a tiny bit of missing chemistry and they didn't seem to have enough moments at all!!!! But hopelly WE CAN WITNESS MORE MOMENTS IN SEASON 2 and MORE CHEMISTRY!!!!!!
-Lack of MOMENTS!!
However still WORTH WATCHING no matter.
JUST CAN NOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS SERIES. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN DEFINITELY WATCH IT TOO CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2 :)

When I first picked up this title and started watching it, I have no expectation at all. I didn't really think that I would like it and I'm ready to use that fast forward button if it bores me. But I'm so surprised to know that I actually like them. The story might not be new or creative, but it's really good and surprisingly very solid. I could feel the care the production team put into the drama, as they make the drama with the loving care and ensure that the drama is watchable. There are some cheesiness but I could overlook it because the whole drama itself is filled with heart

I think that the acting is quite good. There's no one that's very bad at acting. And the main leads are casted perfectly I think. They both blend perfectly well together. There's that chemistry starting in the second part of the drama, and I think it's very on-point in how they think of each other (which gradually change with time). The only critics that I have is the one who played Zhou Jing, because he seems to have some problem to show that he's a bad guy

I actually like the music. The opening song fit with the theme very well

I don't think that rewatch is necessary. Maybe only at some points, when I wanted to watch the silliness of Xia Kui or Bai Xiao. But for the whole drama? Maybe not

The SFX is nicely done. I could clearly see that it's low-budget (not as grand as Ashes of Love or 10 Miles), but it's nicely done and executed. The battle scene is also quite grand, which win some points from me. Overall, I think that the story flows well, the characters and their relationship are believable and nice to see too

Story'The entire story is just super amazing!!! One of the best series I have ever watched.. Feel of being loved and love is beautifully portrayed between the characters (Demon and Human)

Likewise, the whole cast is so versatile and they act was so real! Personally, I'm falling for each and every roles played by them..
Especially, the main role - white fox and the human is the most admiring roles of mine!!!
If you have a leisure time, then go watch this series and u will never get tired of this!!!

Not that bad
Eyy this movie didnt turn out as bad as the ratings were. I mean, I have been hesitating to watch this drama cause the ratings were at 7.__something- well based on experience, such ratings mean that there were loopholes or illogical storyline. Anyways, the plot was good but I find that a lot of it was based from the story Guardian. Like the way demons turned out to be not so cruel, and the fact that there is this time travelling that made them realize they did something in the past. But even if the plot was good, there is something missing in this drama that I can`t explain. Like it is incomparable to Guardin idk. One thing that somewhat bothers me is the FL. The ML overpowered the FL. She did her role well dont get me wrong, I even laughed a lot because of her but the two arent that a good match. Maybe the hairstyle?Nice drama

PLOT:
The chemistry and lines in the first 4 or 6 episodes where ok and you could feel the typical push pull romance between the leads. But by the middle episodes (9-16) the story got too carried away with the demon lore, time traveling, possessions, etc that it failed to further establish the love story of Bai Xiao and Xie Kuai.
What also left a bad taste in my mouth was that most of the romantic scenes that could have allowed the viewers to feel the growing relationship between the leads was delivered through flashbacks AFTER their “accidental” kiss which happens in ep 18+ in a 24 episode series. Because of this you can’t really feel the genuine happiness you get when the leads finally get together in the end because the sweetness just came too late.
I probably might be biased after seeing The Eternal Love and Love Better than Immortality, but the romance here is clearly your teen high school bopper romance type. You would’ve thought it would have been slight more mature since you have a 1000 year old fox demon. At the most I was expecting the same intensity as in Novoland 2 (18 y.o. empress and 1000 y.o. magician), but we only got 1 kiss and barely a hug and no direct confession.
ACTING:
I like the Lu Zhao Hua (Xia Kui) here better than her other drama (All I want for love is you) because her character here is more proactive and have more use other than being in love with the main lead. Fiction Guo (Bai Xiao) is also better here than in his other drama (Accidentally in Love) because he was able to show the complexity of the fox demon’s character (cold one minute, mischievous imp in another, jealous beast on the next).

Have fun finding a good source to watch it from! It is really frustrating because I have tried all the sites that provided this series but they were all choppy. I finished it on YouTube but some parts have been cut, music playing in the background, but overall you can still enjoy it. I was really impressed by the male lead actor, I came after Accidentally in Love, and I found this drama. He matches the role and did a fine job portraying Bai Xiao. The plot is not new, but it’s a drama that you can enjoy watching, it is light and it is interesting at the same time. Very funny and cute moments. Excited for season 2. Surprisingly Good. I started this drama with very little expectation, but it had me glued to my tablet screen till its very last episode!The chemistry between ML & FL is beautiful to watch. They started out fighting, or more like him threatening the girl. Telling her he would kill her at every opportunity. Of course, then Love happened. Most of the time they had me smiling at their antics.
The story is nothing new, but for me it is executed in a way that it entertained me very much. I will definetly be waiting for the second season. I hope the wait won't be too long. I recommend watching this drama. Atleast, give it a try, skip a few dull parts if you feel like it (which aren't many), but overall the whole drama was worth my time.

simple enjoyable drama
this was the first ever cdrama I ever watched in my life and now in 2024 i have finished over 100+ cdramas and kdrama and a handful of jdramas and Thai dramasThis drama is worth a watch for every beginners. The main thing I loved in this drama was the acting and the sort of enemies-to-lovers situation and the main frustrating part was all the cliche struggles they go through and the ending is very frustrating as well, the production did a great job the cast, acting, clothing looked astonishing and also the story is cute and unique on its own. overall it could be not everyone's cup of tea but if u look past the cliches it is a decent drama

The reason I choose this drama to watch is not only because Fiction Guo (I like him since Accidentally in Love), but because the synopsis already attract me.The early episodes are really funny, especially to see how Bai Xiao try to adapt with a present life. The conflict is about trying to snatch spirit pearl from Xia Kui, but what's interesting is that on the way Xia Kui often helped the demons to solve their problems. Another conflict (as for me) is that Xia Kui hard to believe Bai Xiao, it makes she's sometimes fall into trouble with the demons.
And then there’s a Peony Demon who disguised as an actress, Nan Jiao. She is in love with Bai Xiao since a thousand years before. I thought she will be the one of the obstacles or one of the conflict, but no! She even collaborated with Xia Kui and Bai Xiao to maintain the spirit pearl save with Xia Kui. It’s so funny to see Bai Xiao always sneezing when Nan Jiao is near him.
The best experience when they have to fight to maintain the spirit pearl and to help other demons is when they fight at the demon casino. In that moment, I really feel the caring feeling of Bai Xiao for Xia Kui. He even willing to hurt his hands to help Xia Kui. But, the funniest moment (for me) is when Bai Xiao and Xia Kui do a time traveling journey to help Painting Demon see her love’s face. There, they meet Que Sheng, the Demon Queen who Bai Xiao adore so much. Xia Kui feels jealous of her and vent her jealousy to Bai Xiao. On the other hand, Bai Xiao feel angry too because he didn’t quite understand Xia Kui’s jealousy.
Overall, the drama feels solid, but there’s one scene that Zhou Jing try to hurt Xia Kui in the elevator, and for me there’s no closure for that scene. The cinematography quite good and the green screen is neat enough.
Lu Zhao Hua’s (Xia Kui) acting is a bit forced and over in the early episodes. In my opinion she can’t match Fiction Guo’s (Bai Xiao) acting perfectly and they seems to have lack of chemistry. But, from the middle to end of the drama, her acting become more natural and we can see that they’re have a better chemistry.
As for Fiction Guo’s acting, I personally think that he did great and give Bai Xiao character a soul.
For the other main role, Jia Zheng Yu (Zhou Jing) did not gave his best in my opinion. He lacks of expression while he should be do the double role, as a good and a charming senior, and someone who takes someone else’s name and life to live, who then stuck in a bad side. For me, I can’t see the different expression for those roles. I think he could do better.

The story was ok. The storyline had potential but the way it was written and flowed just didn't cut it for me. The special effects weren't good. A little bit more magic/fighting would've been nice. Or delved more into the college student life. I didn't like the FL and can't stand her or her acting. I tried to force myself to finish but ended up just dropping it because it was getting boring. I do like the ML a lot but I couldn't make myself watch any more of this. I'm honestly surprised about how much people liked it.
