More important than the answer is the process of finding the answer
I haven't seen an interesting movie in a long time. The acting of the high school actors was good, but as expected, actor Choi Min-sik seems to be a trustworthy movie actor. In the fun part, he makes the movie not boring while acting cheerfully, and in important lines, he gives a serious acting to convey a message to the audience, so the movie is expressed more deliciously. Besides Choi Min-sik, the chemistry with Jo Yoon-seo, who played the female lead, Park Bo-ram, and Kim Dong-hwi, who plays Han Ji-woo, was also very good. You did a great job in acting as a fresh high school student. If it was a little disappointing, I felt that the content was a little distracting at the end of the movie. When watching this movie, I felt that it contained more meaning when viewed from a different point of view from a mathematical point of view.If you look at it from the point of view of life, not just math, it's a very good word. As I was living my life, I looked back at my life to see if I had lived only by the results. It made me think about how I should live my life.
I advise you to watch the movie even if you hate math...

Finding back the love of learning
A lot of times people have slowly forgotten the purpose of learning like how we used to be. Education had somehow become a tool or an instrument just for the sake of competing for qualifications, to use it as a weapon to threaten others, or it's just another money game to further widen the class difference between rich and poor, as what has been depicted in the movie. In fact, learning should be an excitement of discovering something with the intention of interest in it, instead of just using it to survive, but sadly there's only so few people that do so. In this case, the movie tried to achieve a pure heart for learning mathematics with the chemistry between Choi Minsik and Kim Donghwi that is so impeccable because no matter if we're old or young, learning should be a fun thing as how it always should be from the beginning. Was this review helpful to you?

Discover the right path to the solution
Well originally I thought this was a Korean rewrite of the original movie "Finding Forrester". In that movie it was about bitter old man who lost his brother and was considered a literary genius. He befriends a young man with huge potential but an education system that wants to just use him for what they need him for and the main bad guy is a stuck up literature teacher who was a failure in every sense of the word. Needless to say both stories are virtually identical in general plot the writers of "In Our Prime" ended up changing literature to math but essentially had the same story. But I will say that the Korean movie tended to show how the Korean education system seems to value getting money from "rich" people instead of actually wanting to teach students to strive for personal goals and achievements. It's sad that the educators in this movie wanted to cover up a scandal that essentially made them all accessories to the facts but they were too concerned about saving face and would actually throw an actual "poor" student underneath the proverbial bus because it was easier than to actually set an example to the students and tell the truth. The 3 main characters were amazing actors I'm not familiar with of them except for the actor who played the North Korean defector. Even with the pain and sadness when he thought of what he had taught the student he came back with courage and ended up finding a new path and a new life. Excellent movie. A little sad that I've seen so many Korean movies that seem to make their education system seem very corrupt and dishonest. Was this review helpful to you?
Mathematical Courageous
"In Our Prime" is a delightful Korean movie that captures the essence of mathematics and the courage it takes to master it. As a math enthusiast, I found this film particularly appealing, as it delves into the world of numbers and equations, which have a unique way of always revealing the truth. The movie centers around a heartwarming story of a student who stumbles upon an unexpected mentor, a school security guard who secretly possesses genius-level mathematical skills. The concept of an unconventional teacher-student relationship adds depth to the plot, making it both brilliant and emotionally engaging.
The quote, "Mathematical courage: this is really tough. I will try again tomorrow," beautifully encapsulates the persistence required to conquer complex mathematical challenges. It highlights the perseverance and determination that are essential qualities for anyone pursuing math or any other demanding field.
The performances in "In Our Prime" are praiseworthy, with the senior actor portraying the math genius delivering a standout performance. His portrayal adds authenticity to the character and enhances the overall viewing experience.
Overall, "In Our Prime" is a must-watch for math enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates a heartwarming and well-executed story. It celebrates the power of mathematics while delivering a compelling narrative filled with memorable characters and exceptional performances.
