The idea of the story is pretty good. FL with rare disease. What make me don't understand is the way to cure the disease.
The chemistry between the FL and ML isnt that strong, i dont feel it when i watch the drama. So i skipped a lot part. I thought it would be better in the middle of the drama, but i still couldnt get it. I would choose the second couple who get my interest. That FL bestfriend and the secretary of ML have better chemistry that the main couple.
There is another thing which annoyed me. The ML hair. It is understandable if he has perfect hairstyle in office but in his home, whole sleeping, after take bath. It's too much. It make me feel the story so unreal. Yeeeeaaaah, i know it just a drama, but...

The kind of story you won't remember

Definitely not terrible, but it's cliche, in a sense that everything is rather predictable. (Maybe I've just watched too many dramas at this point).

The premise of the show was interesting - She's a walking sleep beauty that can only be awakened in the arms of her 'destiny'. But apart from that, you can't escape the typical troupes, and honestly, nothing much from the show was memorable to me.

However, I loved the occasional goose cameo, and its a pity our feathery friend didn't get much screentime.

Overall, it's not terrible, but it's worth a shot ONLY IF you have a good amount of time to spare.

No such worst words to express

I think cdramas should have one more genre called worst directed drama so that people can save their valuable time. Except little romance nothing there in this drama, and the comedy except very few times it is difficult to smile for that comedy for all aged peoples. May be the production team was well aware of the direction team capabilities that’s why this drama has been made in low budget. It is really shocking that this drama has 8+ rating. I felt only 16th episode is deserved for wasting our time, remaining all other episodes are trash. The director himself don’t have any idea what is going on and what to show in the next episodes. Approx 20 episodes playing with the same thread line, she keeps on sleepwalking ML keep on appearing and rescuing her first but the SML keep on showcasing like he saved her. In life one or two such coincidences or misunderstandings can be acceptable but it is difficult to accept these misunderstanding happen throughout the life span, this happened in this drama because of their lack of ideas, they don’t what to do next that’s why keep on repeating the same thing.
One thing I don’t know why in Chinese dramas they always try to show the male characters(ML SML even male side characters) are shameless and bipolar or multi polar personality.
1. I don’t know how come someone keep on visiting his ex-girlfriend’s home even after she told not to show his face ever again and the child is not yours but someone’s and I love him and waiting for him. He may think she is lying but he should have a common sense that how can she face the situation if it is true and if her husband returns home when he is in her house.
2. She keeps on spitting to his face(not literally but to that extent) not to show his face again but in the next scene he repeats the same.
3. I don’t know in which place on earth does a president of the company visits and shamelessly pestering a mere voice dubbing actor to sign the contract even after she repeatedly saying she don’t want to work with him, and accepting all her unreasonable demands.
4. Not only in this drama but in most of the Chinese dramas I have seen the director try to prove ML’s love on FL by meddling with his private life, FL forces the ML to forgive someone who he hates the most even after she knew what or how that person hurt or backstabbed the ML badly. According to me there is some border line to everyone which not to cross in the private matter’s.
If I want to express every bullshit of this drama I think I need the same amount of 23 episodes time of this drama

Please give me my time back !

This drama was underwhelming to say the least.
The first thing we can say for sure is that it's a copy of What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. However, this is not my issue with this drama. I actually wanted to watch something like that wich is why I started this drama. But while I'm talking about that if you are here for the same reason I would advise you to just rewatch What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. Or just watch something else. Because this is not a very nice copy of it. It gets pretty bad.
The beginning of the story was nice and well executed. Honestly, the actors were great, and I loved the chemistry between the leads. The actors were fantastic for the entire drama so shout out to them for being that good. But the real issue here is the story. The screenwriter did a very poor job. Lots of unresolved issues and stuff.
The drama soon got weird and very annoying. Like the second part of the drama is just bad. It went all over the place in my opinion. A lot of things were started, but it leads to nothing. A character would do something that SHOULD have repercussions. If you've watched the drama, I'm talking about what the ML friend tried to discover. And he did something in order to do that but we never see the results of it ?! They just went on as if the scene never existed and he did not try do discover something. So weird.
Also the event of episodes 22 and 23 just doesn't make sense to me. The FL does something with the SL that I just don't understand. Not going to develop more not to spoil. But if you've seen the drama, you probably know what I'm talking about.
Talking about the SL. Worst character ever. They tried something with him and it just felt flat and I hated him until the end. Like really. He made me dislike the ending.
Anyway, I don't really recommend this drama. Like I wanted a cute and feel good drama which it was during the first 10 episodes. Then it got annoying and it was not as cute as before.

Poisoned Love (2020) is a nice romantic comedy that can have one laughing at one moment, been annoyed at certain characters sometimes, and it definitely warms your heart as the leading’s couple relationship progresses and they get together. There is a causatory incident for each of the main characters that explains the almost fantastical soothing effect that the leading male has on the female lead that is revealed little by little throughout the drama and it is consider the mysterious aspect of the plot. Although the supporting actors have an important role in the lives of the leading couple and also their own stories and even when their advise was taken into consideration by the male lead and female lead respectively, it is nice to see that the leading couple remained loyal and unwavering toward each other even before they became a couple. Overall, even if the drama is not perfect, it is entertaining and the leading couple has great playful and romantic chemistry with very natural and realistic interactions. Enjoy it!

Cliche and BS plot moments

From the start its always going to be the ML ending up with the FL lead, so for romcom it is always going to be the comedy moments that drives the series. Yet the comedy elements in this series doesnt shine thru.

But the ML and FL acting, is actually watchable and is surprisingly great individually but doesnt really goes that great together. Ma Meng Wei as the FL has been doing well in her projects lately and I feel that she is still better in opps! the king is in love, chinese title 愿我如星君如月.

Ao Rui Peng also did well in this series as well as playing the 2nd ML in Beautiful Time With You, very high 2nd male lead syndrome in that series.

For the BS plot moments, the illness is really unbelievable and so is the cure. Likewise the ML and FL got arranged to stay together for 2 months. Also the singer superstar vs coe of a film company and are both brothers.

The breakers in this show is the ML brother and the FL best female friend. Especially when the ML's brother knew that ML is the FL's cure but still kept trying to win the FL's affection. Likewise for the FL best female friend that discourages FL from having a relationship.

Until episode 15 will they get together and of course they will get separated and only episode 24 its happy ending.

Well done typical modern romcom w/ refreshing leads, subplots, and secondary characters

A modern romcom with many memorable moments and strong cast, you'll enjoy this if you are a lover of this genre! There are many things this show did right with a good amount of nuances. (I typically have a hard time finishing modern cdramas because they can get so illogical and dramatic, but not this one!)

1) Not trivializing the FL's mental illness: I'm always wary at how cdrama dramas tackle mental illnesses and this show does good in not turning completely into a medical show but also not just brushing off her mental illness. It's the FL's driving force as she tries to cure it and it's handle with a good amount of seriousness.

2) FL is so adorable!: I love the actress so much for being able to portray so much range as Fang Yan! Fang Yan is such an adorable character and the actress did so well in some incredibly hilarious scenes. I'd say she's the best actor from this drama. I was really impressed.

2) ML is soft and strict at the same time without being a complete asshole: I really enjoyed this aspect of the ML. In some extreme dramas, the ML is just a very mean-spirited jerk and that is such a turn off. This ML, however, is shown to misunderstand FL and so is, at first, cold to the FL (despite his initial good impression of her) but he isn't super unreasonable and softens soon enough.

3) The FL and ML's super cute love: the premise of the show is based on their (somewhat unwilling) cohabitation and that's a very typical premise for a romcom, of course, but what I loved about their love is just the cute domestic portrayal of it and how, once they both accepted their feelings, they were just so cute. The way that the FL and ML will just hug each other or give each other quick kisses or how the FL will pout about wanting a physical touch--I love it so much. It's a realistic portrayal of a couple that isn't overdone with super dramatic romantic gestures; it's cooking for one another, praising one another, and teasing one another. I'm very satisfied with this. (Also, there's something to do with a goose...and I loved that so much. I laughed so hard and also delighted in it so much!)

4) The second ML is a flawed complex character: his character and arc is very memorable. I won't spoil, but I enjoyed the reveals about him and how that relates to other characters. There was a moment where I really disliked him but I grew to like him again.

5) The second couple leads, Zuo Yao and Hao Ying Jun (and Zuo Yao's son Zuo You): characters with distinct personalities, I enjoyed them a lot and their kind of love.
I love that Zuo Yao was a strong independent single woman raising her son. That itself was such a refreshing move for me from a cdrama. Of course, in true cdrama fashion, it shows some of the downfalls of not having a second parent or a father--in which a child can be insecure about it--so there is a push for her to find a husband or find a father for Zuo You. Most of this pressure is mostly coming from Hao Ying Jun though, lol, who is still adamantly in love with Zuo Yao. Their past history, though, makes it hard for Zuo Yao trust him and so they must learn to trust each other again.

This is a drama that definitely focuses more on the romantic plot and there is a suspenseful serious plot, but it's less to do with their jobs and more to do with something else...that I won't spoil. Anyway, it's a good romcom drama to watch when you're looking for cute actors and cute scenes. :)

FL is living the Y/N life - if you dig that go for it

Have an iQiyi sub and started watching out of curiosity.
If you are like me and kiss scenes are important to you + and love male leads that pine for their lover, read on.

Story: I think the premise of it is interesting, I don't hate it but I did wish it could be a little more realistic; I felt like the love that developed wasn't 'substantiated' through the plot or explained somehow. You know when in dramas you can tell when the ML/FL falls in love? Yeah, I couldn't tell with this one. Ditto for the second love interest - how?! Why?! I don't think it necessarily needs to be explained but like... why? From where?

Acting/Cast: I liked the leads, they're all super attractive (esp the ML ) but I felt like there was a little bit of disconnect which I can't really explain.

Music: Not memorable, not horrible

Rewatch value: Likely not to rewatch this because I prefer to rewatch hot, steamy, heartpumping drams.

Overall: Cute but too much Wattpad vibes for me, I couldn't take the romance seriously.

STORY: Quite an interesting plot. I initally started this series after seeing the adorable scenes of Fang Yan and Shi Meng online but after watching, I was plesently suprised at the complex, sweet, intricate, and well written story of Poisoned Love. None of the side charachters were annoying and there was great charachter development by the end of the series.
EXECUTION: It took about 3 eps before understanding what was going on. main couple gets together ep 15/24 . No issues with music, my favorite song was Destined-wang Beiche. Added sound effects within the drama added humor in good spots. Acting was great, all main leads held their position well
OVERALL: I was throughly impressed by this drama after expecting another cliche plot. Recomend for someone looking for a cute couple that involvues business, sibiling conflict, friendship, and more.

Super annoying but super cute

Watchable with lots of super cute fluffy romantic dense but parts of it were absolutely the worst with so many scenes to fast forward through. But truly so many moments of thinking like please please how can it be this cliche and not plausible. Like every time something goes wrong no one investigates the cause and every scenario is so one dimensional. Like even for fluffy type drama this had the most rolling my eyes moments ever ever everrrrrrrrrr. But like someone else said if you’re just coming off a heavy drama and have absolutely nothing else to watch and need some fluff and are able to quickly fast forward through the many many many many annoying scenes with literally of the side characters except the cute kid and the FL’s guy friend then you may be ok to watch this. Otherwise it will annoy the ish out of you. The main couple chemistry and cute scenes justtttttt barely able to overcome the too many boring and annoying side character dialogue and scenes. the most annoying being the FL’s female friend like I don’t think I’ve ever straight disliked the female friend absolutely completely, she’s not the villain at all in this show but truly every thing she does in this show were the main things that brought down the show. Of course when the friend delays the main couple getting together while having having good intentions to the FL it’s annoying and of course it’s hard to come up with plausible reasons to delay the main couple getting together but this was the worst I’ve ever seen truly, the friend was straight mean, dumb, overbearing, wall of which is tolerable and common except for the parts where she was mean like the whole cruel to be kind bs. Plus they didn’t give the friend any redeemable scenes so it just kept getting more and more annoying. Luckily fast forwarding through all the side characters doesn’t lead to any of the main plot being missed and the whole drama is only 24 ep 30min each so it’s not a struggle to skip around and there’s lots of fluffy scenes in nearly every episode. Last thing, the FL’s annoying things in the beginning she does to the ML are so like actually messed up that you really must try and power through it since the later cute romantic scenes are worth it . The extra scene business just looks like season 2 meaning let’s follow the main couple and see how they do with minor annoyances like the fun of how they’re living during the happily ever after ending. Could be cute or I’m being delusionally optimistic, but Deff the main takeaway from this show is the ml is too cute and hopefully he’s in more fluffy romantic and better shows after this!
(Just to put my rating into context - I’ve never scored a show less than 7.5 idt, if something is so terrible I don’t even finish it then i take it as just not my type and don’t rate it at all, if I do finish it then it must have been somewhat entertaining hence lowest I’d give anything is 7-7.5, anything less than that I don’t even finish watching - hence this show really was bearable but only justttttt bearable with the fluffy romantic direct couple making up for all the rest. Truly in comparison to those better dramas that have the main couple as friends till the very last couple episodes this fluffy type ish Deff weighs a lot to be able to overcome this shows epic amount of annoying ridiculous scenes
*the music rating was 5 as in its whatever not bad not good

Here to make the rating higher ☺️

First, I am really nit picky when it comes to watching Cdrama. Most of the time, I either dropped or fast forward even when it is a popular drama. So when I watched this show, I don’t expect much but viola!!! I super love this. It might not be a perfect or unique storyline and their are some dull and predictable parts, hence, it dows not hinder in keeping me glued throughout until the end. That is feat. Well, for me ? Simple and enigmatic character portrayals. That is why sometimes, finding underrated drama is a gem.

It's my first time writing a review but I think it's worth to write a review. The plot of the drama is quite interesting. The 2ML's specially Shi Meng is so handsome and has a great acting skill. Besides the female lead is so pretty and funny. Earlier I watched three of the leads as side roles. But now that three of them are in the main role the drama is so fun to watch. It has a light romance. Every single episode is interesting as all individual episode is not draggy and same. I'm already a fan of Ao Rui Peng (Shi Meng) and Ma Meng Wei (Fang Yan) . The drama is absolutely worth watching!
