Unrealistic story but bearable to watch
Among the airing Thai BL drama this year, Gen Y is probably much okay than the rest. It is not really that perfect but it's good enough. 8/10The drama has it's pros and cons, I guess I'm riding on a roller coaster ride cause one episode make me feel good but another episode bored me then vice versa.
PROS of the show:
- KimCop chemistry is one of a kind! In the first place the reason why I watch Gen Y is probably because of the two of them. I can't get enough of their cuteness, I love them both.
- Kit, Mark, Jack, and Koh are my favorite character in the show. I need to see more Jack-Koh moment! Is it JackKoh or KohJack? Who will be the top? Hahahahha. These two is the cutest I love their dog and cat relationship.
- No homophobic person was feautured. One thing I love about the show is that the couples didn't encounter someone who hates them cause their gay. They're all living in the fantasy that some people wish to be real. As you can see in the drama, too many students fall in love with some of the characters, specially Wayu. Mark even freely vlog about the suitors of his best friend.
- I don't know if this one is a pros or cons. It is not a Thai BL drama without an endorsement screentime every episodes. Hi Viva Plus!
For the CONS:
- If only they didn't push the supernatural concept, things will be a little bit great. The story is kinda confusing after they inserted the destiny something. It doesn't really fit the flow of the past few episodes.
- Zero-feels for Wayu and Thanu romance. As in, I skip most of their scenes. I didn't feel a thing, it was nothing but plain conversation of two person.
- Too many characters that eventually turns MarkKit looking like a side couple instead of the main couple. The last two episodes feauture different stories but as the main character, they should inserted MarkKit story more.
I hope the season 2 will be greater than this but overall I like the drama.

Total hot mess
Foundational Romance Tropes? Enemies to lovers + cat & mouseFor the casual BL fan Gen Y was a bloated drunken mess of a show that wasn’t sure what it wanted to be at the start with WAY too many characters and couples. When it found its stride and trusted in MarkKit to carry the weight, friendships to provide the foundation, and parody to push the pace it had moments of glory.
But not everyone stuck with it long enough to get those nuggets. And then once MarkKit were together, it dropped the ball in the fourth quarter and lost its way again.
If you trusted Gen Y to push the ridiculous only so far and to save itself with poignancy it had scenes of self-referential genius. It managed to gently mock the very tropes of BL it was embracing, while still being soft and genuine and never mean or petty.
But it only really worked if you had tremendous patience and it ended with a stuttering splintered mess of dropped story threads. Gen Y alienated watchers and even those of us who liked it understand why.

Just Watch It
Since I binge watched Gen Y after it finished airing, I probably had a different viewing experience to those who watched it as it aired. It allows me to see the story as a whole, from start to finish and therefore, allows me to judge it as a whole without being tainted by the weekly wait. This definitely wasn't as messy as how others are describing it.Story: I only gave this a 7.5/10 because it's nothing original, really, but the writing is pretty good for what it is and I love a lot of the characters. The plot wasn't chaotic or confusing, making it easy to watch, and I absolutely loved watching MarkKit's story. My second favourite ship was/is PokTong and I wish they had more screen time but I'm keeping in mind that there are still another two seasons. If this season of Gen Y was all there was, I would rate it lower but instead, I've decided to rate it as if it's a chapter in a story. That's what it felt like too and I actually like how slowly everything developed. I don't like PhaWayu because even if Pha was trying to do what's best or had legitimate reasons for leaving Wayu, he should have gone about it in a more caring way. He also shouldn't have played with his hopes and feelings after just because he didn't like seeing other guys interested in him. Pha was extremely selfish, it doesn't matter what his reasons were. I'm rooting for ThanuWayu but honestly, I couldn't be less interested in Wayu and his storyline. I liked Gen Y solely for MarkKit, PokTong, and even KohJack/JackKoh. The only thing I really wanted was for PokTong to kiss in the last episode but I also understand that it's better for the story if their relationship develops slowly and more logically than that. I also think people are saying that what happened between Pok and Tong in the finale was non-consensual. But that wasn't the case at all. Pok told him to leave because he wanted to kiss him that badly and Tong (even though he was considering leaving before knowing Pok's reason) shuts the door and tells him to do what he wants - except the kissing since despite all the sexual tension, they are too stubborn to admit their feelings. If a viewer couldn't tell that Tong also wants to be physically involved with Pong, then they might need to rewatch their scenes. All the longing from both sides is right there and plus, it was Tong who almost gave in to kiss Pok by the lockers.
Acting/Cast: Kimmon did amazing. He was the best in my opinion. Others that also did extremely well were Bank (Pok), Bonus (Tong) and Jet (Jack). I didn't find myself being distracted by their acting at all throughout the show. Copter was also really good and Bas was good too. What's funny is that I started this show being a CopBas shipper (since they're so close and kiss irl) but I found myself falling completely in love with KimCop. They had amazing chemistry. Best chemistry and tension goes to Bank and Bonus though, hands down. I need them to have their own series together STAT.
Music: Average. Nothing really stood out for me and I won't be adding any of the songs to my spotify playlist.
Rewatch Value: high enough because I'll rewatch season 1 before the 2nd season comes out and also, I might rewatch for KimCop and BankBonus. I'll probably be skipping other parts of the story as I go though.
Overall: If you're on the fence at all, I recommend just giving it a go! If you don't like it after two or three episodes, then you could always drop it :)

A Mess
This series is so incredibly formulaic and predictable that it left nothing to the imagination. While they are incredibly handsome individuals and the acting is NOT the problem, it is the utterly silly premise that has been done over and over again. Each episode was over one hour so they had time to develop a solid story with interesting characters but instead chose the formulaic storytelling that in essence went nowhere. The stories between the minor couples are way more interesting especially between Tong and Pok.Was this review helpful to you?

Why did you MESSED it???!!!!!
I love this Series because of 2moons. This series started so well but ended up with a big DISAPPOINTMENT. The only reason why I continue to watch this series until the end was because of Mark and Kit plus Wayu. These 3 characters are already enough to pull off the series until the end. It have been better if you concentrated on the Love Story of Mark and Kit and you ended this series by a hanging question for Wayu: It will be Thanu or Pha? and save it for season 2. That Too much open story that was unnecessary for the series started to messed up this series. Well, the good visuals of the actors here are overflowing and promising and that makes GEN Y interesting in the first place but how the Writer handle the story of each character and mixed them together, that is how this series totally messed up. It have been better also if the character of Pha was revealed in 2 season since you never show us His face from the start. The level of curiosity and expectations for PHA becomes higher by then but again you ended up ruining it. How could you??!! Hayzzzz....Was this review helpful to you?

Just a brief
Summary: Mark the beau of the engineering faculty took a liking to P'kit at the very first sight and Kit being the " not to approach me guy" got very pissed whenever mark was near him but between the teasing and the arguments they both started liking each other. Due to some reason Kit didn't accept the proposal of Mark but soon they cleared their conflicts and got back together, their scenes and their acting was up to the mark as this was there season. The actor's performance according to their role is very good but the storyline didn't connect much to my heart. According to the sources, this season was based on Markit but according to me their screen time was less than expected it to be and most of it was about Wayu only which according to me should be in season 2. In this whole season, Wayu's part was of a heartbroken person and when we think he moved on and started liking Thanu, the season ended with P'pha's entry.
One more thing according to the picturization of P'pha, the actual person entered as P'pha was unjustified.
I am still waiting for season 2 because I am curious about why P'pha took a break with P'Wayu if he loved him so much. As per Wayu's constant crying over Pha, there must be a good reason I think otherwise it will be a total waste.

Eh, Cute.
I binged this and I gotta say, if you want cavities you came to the right place. There's a lot of stupid cute fluffiness that's so super sweet it's really cheesy lol Familiar faces and visuals all around . You can tell who's inexperienced in the BL industry, but don't let that hold you back. I was impressed it wasn't as cliché as I feared and actually had a story that was not necessarily realistic, but again wasn't too cliché for a BL. Overall, I liked it and thank goodness there's a S2 in the works or I'd be mad confused lol. I'd recommend to a newbie BL fan but won't re-watch. I came this far and it was good enough so I'll at least definitely watch S2.Was this review helpful to you?
Totally Watchable & Enjoyable
Wow ... This drama was really good, and so well carried out. There were a few things that just didn't add up:
1 . Why was P'Pha so a mystery, we didn't get to seem till the very last episode and then we are left hanging to see what happened.
2. The characters seem to have some unanswered questions, among all of them, Pok & Tong when does he come clean?
3. Sandee who looks so innocent but some how has a hidden agenda.
4. What was the deal between padok & Thanu?
Kit a man of few words, I had presumed that the dram was really about them, but I was so wrong this drama seemed to focus on wayu & thanu & p'pha (who is a ghost throughout the drama).
Mark, was really decisive in who wanted, but somehow there didn't seem to be any chemistry between them?
Storyline & Acting: This was your basic story line of guy meets guys and falls in love at sight, and the whole chase to get the guy. The characters throughout the drama was really well carried out, there wasn't a time where it dragged out or got boring. Each character was really good in there respective roles, although I feel that there should have been more screen time on Mark & Kit then on Wayu and his triangle of love!!
The ending has left a whole lot of unanswered questions and that is really the sad part of this drama.

It was a hot mess...but I was entertained
Lord have mercy! What was this that I watched?! I mean...I am flabbergasted and confused and just...wow. However, I will say there were some good aspects as well as bad. And Gen Y did carry me through so much emotions than any other BL series have done.Story-7/10 (Overall)
Secondary characters- 8/10
I'm doing this in parts, cause some were awesome and some I wanted to strangle as their storyline annoyed the hell out of me or, worse yet- their story wasn't even told in this series. Starting right off the bat- they were too many characters to focus on and, due to this, they weren't develop properly. Heck, we are literally left hanging cause we still don't know what went down with Thanu and Padbok. But some of the minor characters did entertain me- heck even more than Wayu's storyline. Sab, Jack and Koh were the highlights for me as secondary characters.
Mark and Kit-10/10
I came for them and I stayed for them! They were awesome! I loved their chemistry and their scenes together. If the show was just on them with less episodes, I would love this series. The last two episodes I was a bit annoyed due to the lack of scenes with these two boys. But I do understand- thier story was basically done, so they began to put focus on Wayu and friends as well as Tong and Pok.
Tong and Pok-7/10
These guys confused the crap out of me. In the beginning, you can see Pok likes Tong. But then Tong tells him he can't kiss him as he is saving his kiss for the person he loves, which apparently is Pok, I think? A lot of things happened for them to apparently not like each other. But their relationship progressed and they wound up sleeping together. However, I won't count on a happy ending for these guys as Pok still doesn't know what Tong did (change the exams paper to make sure Pok would pass the exams and get in a university).
Wayu/Thanu/Phai/Pha-4/10
I have NEVER hated a storyline soooo much! This damn thing making me think of back in the day shows on the WB/CW where their focus was on an annoying love triangle. Who really asked for this?! It was cool in the beginning showing Wayu was moving on. And then they introduced Phai, whose the soulmate of Thanu. And THEN they said that Thanu was the soulmate of Wayu. AND THEN they bring back Pha, making me fricking annoyed, cause if Wayu chooses Pha then all of this would be for nought! (he better not choose that di#$head, cause he made Wayu cried to damn much in this series and also thier relationship was basically based on a lie as it was Thanu who saved him when he fell down and not Pha ). Pha has truly made me hate an ex of a main character. All of this crap and I still don't care who ends up who!
Acting/Cast-7/10
Hey, I may not like the series, but these guys can act! They made me giddy, happy, angry, sad and annoyed. They kept my attention on this series, although they were times I was screaming angrily on the inside as I watch the story progress.
Music- 7/10
I liked the music!
Rewatch Valu-5/10
I can honestly say they are some parts that I would watch. And some that I would gladly skip (chough, chough 'Wayu/Thanu/Phai/Pha's storyline' chough, chough).
Overall-7/10
My overall score is 6.5. HOWEVER, I am gonna give it a 7 due to the fact that I want a season two. Why? Not for any of the characters here. I read somewhere as well as saw that Tae and Tee MAY star in it. And I miss these boys. I was robbed of seeing them together in the continuation of 2 Moons. They played friends in Hotel Stars and not lovers. They better really be in the second season as a couple cause I have been denied of them for too long!

Season 2 Realease
Can someone explain when Season 2 will be released?I enjoyed watching this series. It was different after watching TharnType & ThatnType 7 years of love. The characters in Gen Y were well matched except for P'Pha. He was a MAJOR let down! It would have been better if you put Ja Phachara Suansri (Leo) in as P'Pha! Or even Tee Vivid Bavornkiratikajorn (Dr. Thiti)
The passion was good the story was realistic. The timeline could have been better explained. The story about P'Thanu's past needed to be revealed completely. There should have been at least 4 more episodes.
But the most important question is:
When is season 2 being released?
