Sweet romance, great chemistry and a feel-good fun story

Looking for a light-hearted lakorn that still provides a little emotional roller-coaster ride? You Are My Heartbeat may be just the drama for you.

This is a true rom-com Thai style with slapstick antics, witty and lowbrow humor that mesh well with the story. It also used well-paced timing, cheesy romance, and effective music effects to keep things engaging and entertaining for me from start to finish. I cannot claim the same for the Chinese original "Fox's Summer" since I dropped that series in the middle. I found the female lead character too annoying, and the actor who played the male lead could not act.

One can expect the usual tropes like co-habitation, intelligent but emotionally stunted "CEO" ML, an annoying supporting female character interested in the ML, and a domineering narrow-minded elder relative, the grandmother of both the ML and SML. The grandmother was definitely irritating, the necessary antagonist that kept the show from being too much of a fluff piece.

The cherry on top for me was the good looks galore. I think the entire show was a showcase for Push and Mai, who had great chemistry and looked so so gorgeous together. Both of them can do comedy, and they did an excellent job portraying their characters, including nailing the more emotional scenes.

Mai Davika as Kheetika was BEAUTIFUL, and I coveted her outfits. Her character was smart, stubborn, and creative but vulnerable and soft at times. Kheetika had no qualms manipulating the situation, including lying to get out of trouble, but at the same time, she was principled and straightforward. Her motto was "do unto others what they do unto you". In contrast, Push's character, Sira, was so averse to lying to the point that he could get sick if someone lied too much. Due to his past, he was also germaphobic and had a pretty low EQ when it came to romance. Push stole my heart yet again, and even if the drama only showed the lead couple doing nothing the whole time, I would still watch just to appreciate all that fineness. If there is anything to criticize, it would be the amount of makeup applied for the entire cast.

With these two as the lead couple, I was interested from the get-go, so much so that I watched it without subtitles and then with subtitles the second time.

Romance-wise, it was a slow burn one, which I did not mind at all. For someone so unsociable and inexperienced in love, Sira was one smooth operator, saying the cheesiest but adorable lines to Kheetika. One can see the character development of Sira as Kheetika gradually helped him get rid of his germaphobia and his reaction to lying. I wish there was more kissing because they looked comfortable and natural together when they did.

The secondary couple's story, however, turned me off. I did not like how they started their relationship and the cause for the SML having done a 180 degrees turn and moved his attention from the FL to the other woman. The whole situation felt somewhat contrived. Also, I am not sure what the stylist was doing with these two characters regarding their outfits. Both actors were attractive but dressed in the most unflattering clothes.

In general, though, the acting (especially the comedic parts) was good across the board, and there was just so much chemistry between the cast.

AS for the music, there were only 3 main songs, and Jackrin Kungwankiatichai, who played Sasa, the SML sang one of the tracks. I like them, but they were not super memorable. The opening song was fun to listen to and lent the same tone of positivity that was infused throughout the show. For posterity, I listed them at the end of my review.

Overall, I enjoyed this lakorn and would have rated it higher if the last two episodes were not as focused on the grandmother's redemption. Even though the lead couple got together earlier, I did not get enough of their sweet moments since the side-plot of Sira and his grandmother became the main storyline towards the end. That being said, the last few scenes were lovably cute, so ultimately, it was a nice ending.

Huge let down in the final episodes and a terrible rushed ending.

1 / GOOD:
- The lead couple's looks : Let's say it, they look beautiful together. Their beauty and handsomeness really compliment each other. It is a pleasure for the eyes.
- The lead couple's chemistry: The first episode they hardly found a way to communicate but when one of them starts to change his opinion, there is a very fun chemistry between them until the last eps where things turn sour and their new lack of communication is barely understandable.
- Loved the acting of the main couple.

2 / NOT SO GOOD:
- The story is quite bland. There not a huge scheme or a battle to fight. Just some annoying people to put roadblocks.
- SML and SFL are super annoying and their story is very forced. Nothing believable.
- Supporting characters are not interesting. No sub story with any of them but one third couple which was a comic relief more than a real sub story.

3 / TERRIBLE:
- Latest episodes have outrageous schemes just to piss the FL off and make the ML and SML look stupid with complete change of behavior. The ending is totally rushed with ML's back story almost laughable. And last but not the least, the ending where the evil character who lied and mistreated ML for years and FL just gets away with it in the name of "family", That old hag did bad things and made people suffer for decades and she receive an award. Lame.

OVERALL: I started this because of the two main leads. The beginning was a bit messy but they were so cute and the dynamic between them was fun. But towards the end, it becomes awful to the point I started to hate the ML and could not understand the SML.

6.5/10. Ultimately disappointed and I regret I spent so many hours watching this. I clearly do no recommend this despite the fact that I loved the two leads and their cute scenes.

Cast is super amazing! However i am not that happy with last two eps.

This is my first review so i am not sure what all should I include to increase its viewers.
Guys, till 17th eps , they were so interesting and nicely performed and directed. I am hoping rest of them are also going to be good. Although i have watched all of them, but last eps I am not satisfied. However it is not that bad. But only one time watch show.
Also, in my opinion this remake is better than the original one for two reason -
1. its is a shorter version, the Chinese version had two extended parts.
2. i think the cast of this version is more interesting and much more attractive than the Chinese version.
will give you guys final update after watching allll the eps.
Also please dont start watching this show when its on air because they take so long to give english subssss. --- (and its super annoying..)

Most of the Thai dramas I have watched always have a very heavy plotline and too many evil characters. You Are My Heartbeat breaks this concept. Yes there are characters that are bad and you hate them but the fun and chaotic main couple overpower this evil. From the first episode they are fun to watch. The female lead's acting is so good and I love her expressions and ways of annoying the male lead. You'd think the male lead is vulnerable because of his disease but he is no less when it comes to annoying the female lead.
When Din finds out about his brother's love for Kanghan, I was glad that they didn't make him stay angry and fall out with his brother. Instead he was the one who put sense into the main couple and made them confess to each other. Even after that I loved Din's relationship with the two of them.
There is one thing that I have to say. In the beginning we always hate the evil characters so much and wish for the worse for them. However, at the end of the drama when they repent for their mistakes even we forgive them. That is one thing I love about dramas. The grandma was bad but we saw her ending. The other evil girl, Kansinee, was also the main evil but they never showed what happened to her. Honestly you end up hating her character so much, you want her to have a bad end and get what she deserves.
I love Push so I naturally I love ll his dramas but his character in this drama really made me fall in love with him even more. All in all, I have come to love this drama so very much and I miss is already.

If you're a Kdrama fan this is a "Must watch" thai drama for you❤️

Sorry if i have any wrong grammar because im not really good on english but i'm trying my best😊

As a kdrama fan my standard is kinda high when it comes to acting, editing style, and visual but this thai drama is better than what i expected, their acting skills are good and the chemistry is overflowing i like how they act together.

When it comes to cinematography its 9/10 for me, the editing style is actually good compared to other thai drama.

The cast are all pleasant to watch and good looking because of their outfits, it's formal and somehow fashionable.

I also like the story though it's common but i like the plot twist in the last 2 episodes i already know that there's something about the male lead that needs to be revealed and yup it turns out that i was right but the way they delivered the scene is actually good.

And also to the supporting characters i like their way of acting especially maha and rosalyn it's funny and i also like the second lead couple i didn't expect that they were gonna be together on the last 4 episodes😅

just missed the landing... great start but

the start of this drama got me hooked.. the 2 main leads were good.. and it made me want to see where they went
the 2nd couple.. was blah and as with many of the other reviews annoying.. but i feel thats how most thai dramas work with these types of stores.. they make them annoying which doesnt help their story later on..

it didnt feel like character growth for these 2 secondary character, it was just like oh ok.. ive moved on from the main obsessions lets settle for each other...

the 3rd couple felt more fun but they were rushed and even less developed

the rest of supporting cast was good

but midway through.. the whole drama felt off.. everything between the mains were weird.. it didnt flow right.. things were either rushed or resolved so offhandly it didnt really make sense

it just felt like the writers were tired and just wanted to finish it as soon as possible

the mains worked well but.. man.. it just felt blah at the end

Not an avid Thai drama watcher

I started watching this drama because of Davika! I only know her from her modelling gigs, so this is the first time I'm seeing her act. I think she acted her character really well and she's very personable! This drama has a typical storyline, with the same old typical cliche tropes (rich guy poor girl, revenge plots etc). But this does not mean it's bad, but it just means that you shouldn't expect a super unique plot line or anything. The cast in general is not too shabby at acting. They are also quite pleasant on the eyes... :)

It's a good drama if u want a light hearted drama ..

i always look for the remakes of my fav popular dramas with different popular cast bcoz this way i can experience the same emotions again....sometimes remakes r very good and sometimes very bad but this one is nor too good nor too bad..this thai version of the fox's summer is avg..i loved the maIn couple and the staff but i missed original male lead MIKE too much...and female lead was suppose to b a crazy lying bitch but in thai version she was too soft and as agressive as li yan shu...
2nd ML is the only one in this version that i disliked..he have no personality.....
and Mike's childhood trauma was presnted very beautifully t and hroughout the season 1 but in thai they just focused on love story and ignored many imp parts..and very rarely fl lied or acted like a powerful character....
i liked that thai version is not as long As chinese but still i'll prefer og bcoz i swear i missed mike and li yan shu too much while watching this drama :P :P :P
but still i liked it ..give it a try...Fl's dresses were extremely beautiful just like her...

Despite being an adaptation that has already been produced by China, the screenwriter has inserted several changes in the script, therefore, the Thai script differs greatly from the Chinese script. The comic tone (although some scenes are a little exaggerated), makes the drama quite funny, the exciting situations are few and, with mastery, it created a despicable antagonist. The only thing I don't really like is the writers' mania for making their villains good at the snap of a finger.
The main couple's romance is cute, showing a relationship that develops with coexistence, so there is no overwhelming romance. In the case of the second couple, the development of the romance was not very well worked out, but it is possible to deduce that their closeness progressed to a greater feeling.
The performances are very good, the actor Push dressed the character in a charming way. The chemistry between the main couple is good, but the kissing scenes leave a lot to be desired.
The direction is good and the editing without major errors.

This drama is very decompressed~!!

This play is a remake of the Chinese drama. It integrates the localized style and is a Thai style love play. I have seen many PUSH‘s plays before. He is really handsome, so he is very suitable to play a president. ML here is a boss with cleanliness, and his encounter with FL is very dramatic, she is an informal person, btw, FL is really beautiful.

When I watch this play, I feel very relaxed, because the tone of this play is very happy and decompressed. This is the most important reason why I like this play. Whenever I feel very tired after work, this play will bring me happiness. And the appearance of men and women is also very matched, and I also like their interaction~!

Remake is horrible

Cast and acting saved this poorly written series. This remake is horribly done. Fox's Summer is so much better. This Thai remake doesn't have mass appeal because the script rewrite focused on petty stuff like the telescopic focus on dirt, degrading on the plane, supposed bumping into someone who was trying to wear lipstick and extra scenes that were nonsensical and obvious ways to lengthen the story time. The writers need to watch F4 remake and learn how to do a solid remake! There was too much intrigue which took away from the main storyline.
