The Story Has A Deeper Meaning

It's really about finding oneself, understanding oneself, and loving oneself in order to be able to accept, love, and commit to another person. It's also realizing that relationships are not perfect. Long-term relationships can be off and on, up and down, go through valleys and be sky high. For relationships to stand the test of time, one has to accept each other in good times and bad, and be willing to go through the valleys together to try and come out on the other side still together. In other words, relationships are work.

The series is the story of two people trying to not only figure themselves out, but also figure out their relationship, and how they can navigate life and stay together. They both make a lot of mistakes, but it is in the persistence, and that they keep trying again that they learn how to keep the relationship moving forward.

The secondary storylines were good as well. Especially the relationship between Young Hee and Hyun Jae. From very different backgrounds, this caused a lot of insecurity in Young Hee. She tried to cut him loose as she felt bringing darkness into his life was unfair. But, dang, he just stuck with her time and time again.

The main plot and sub plots play out over and over again. To a certain extent, it makes the drama boring. However, the same scenarios happening over and over again are needed to show the journey of discovery these young people are on. However, some of the characters behavior was exaggerated in typical Kdrama fashion. The males are so besotted with the females, they just fall all over themselves to please the girlfriends. While it would be nice if this were realistic, most of this can just be chalked up to the typical fictional Kdrama male. It definitely sells the story, but guys like this don't exist in real life.

It ends well with all the couples happy and together. The soundtrack was good. The scenery was good. Overall, it was a good series.

Awesome drama

1st don’t pay attention to all the negative reviews! I almost passed this up due to that fact and boy am I glad I did not. I watch Kdramas all the time so I am not new to this. Forget that it has some cliches in it and just watch it as a stand alone drama and you will enjoy it. Forget that the ML seems cold and stuck on himself at 1st and take into account his childhood. EVERYONE did a fantastic job of acting, the OST was very good and I personally liked the plot but know I am a complete romantic at heart so I can also sympathize with the FL and her emotions. 2nd FL was a bit annoying as to how she treated the 2ML sometimes but still could not dislike her just wanted to shake her at times. Last couple of episodes are tear jerkers but the ending wrapped up nicely. Bottom line, this might not be for everyone but it most certainly does not deserve the bad reviews it has gotten, I loved it! Take the time to watch it.

Love or hate

Honestly this drama isnt for everyone. I personally think most people watch dramas as an escape, and this drama, for me personally talks about really real and possible situations.

It's honestly a very slice of life kind of drama and to a lot of people, that may be very slow or boring so if you don't like those then this drama definitely isn't for you. It's definately a slow burn kind of drama as well.

Yes, some parts are very exaggerated and some parts may not make complete sense but overal i think this drama touches on different kinds of relationships in life, whether they're bad or good.

I read in the reviews that a lot of people hated the main male lead and wanted her to end up with the second lead, but i personally thought he had one of the best character developements of all the many dramas ive watched. And because of the slow pace of the overall drama, it didn't feel like he just suddenly changed or anythjng like that.

I personally felt that while i did get tired of the main's back and forth near the end, overall it was pretty enjoyable for me. The acting was great and most of the actors and actresses had amazing chemistry with each other.

I think this drama is one that if you do decide to watch it, you should watch it with an open mind and in the mindset of the characters rather than a viewer. That'll make the experience much more enjoyable.

The FL is the jerk and narcissist - not the ML

Everyone here is criticizing the ML in this drama but I disagree. The FL is the worst character in the drama. I don’t think she ever understood what it takes to build a relationship because everything went according how she felt and her moods. No wonder she had 12 failed relationship. She thought only about herself and her ‘feelings’. She never really cared about how her partners felt. She treated both the ML and the SML like trash. Their weee all disposable to her. She just used all of them if anyone needed therapy in this drama it was the FL. The ML was doing fine because he had a huge learning curve. He may not have consciously loved her I. The beginning but he was always very caring and she was the only one in his thoughts from beginning to end. The FL did not deserve him. I wish they had broken up for good and he had found someone better while she remained alone for life.. Her breaking up with him while he was working abroad was the most pathetic thing I have seen. She left him high and dry. She could have waited or gone to see him instead. She took all the decisions herself and the whole world just revolved around herself. It was just ‘poor me, me , me with her. She never owned up to her faults or mistakes. There that’s my review

This could be you

This is a very underrated drama bc it's different and probably realistic- at least to me. That's why I'm fangirling all over it. I'm actually rooting for the ML. Why? Yes, he's jerk, a moron, probably unlovable. But when have we been in love with that person too? Are all of our first loves even close to being perfect? Mine was naïve, cranky, a little jerky and a bit of a narcistic like Lee Soo. And I was Woo Yeon in love with him hoping he'll change his mind waiting for him to get me out of the friend zone. It's all happened to us, that's why I absolutely love this story line and the acting is pretty superb. Give it a shot and watch for the story to twist and turn and watch these two eventually find their way back to each other, The music will also make you swoon.

Hate-watching material

This is one of those dramas with unlikable main characters.

The ML in particular is a special kind of selfish and manipulative piece of shit. The FL also has her issues, but is at least someone you can sympathize with. She at least tries to end their miserable relationship. But he of course won't allow it.

They both need therapy. That people close to either of them fail to recognize and suggest it is dumbfounding.

About halfway in, I skipped to the end, didn't see myself making it through the other half of the episodes. And the writers unfortunately, or expectedly, went for the "romantic" ending, yikes. I think the much better ending would have been for the main characters, especially the ML, to recognize their issues and go separate ways.

If you look for something to hate-watch, go for it.

It hurts, this drama feels like real life

Hello,i have never write an review before but this drama just hit me. I started watching with low expections and just because i like the main lead... The story is good, it is more a heartbreaking thing, the whole time you feel the pain but also the happiness for all of them. I cried a lot because it some things in my live was very simular anf i think, maybe its a good drama to overcome rejection, for me it was. I absolutly love this drama and would recommend this so much, even if its a little slow

I didn’t want to have to give a bad review, but I couldn’t help it.

The story line of this drama was really catchy. I mean I had no expectations but they still managed to disappoint me. This is the first drama where I really dislike the main characters. Everything the male lead did irked me and don’t get me started on the female lead.
Now here’s why I watched this up to episode 7, I was thinking it’ll be a drama where the fl would end up with the one that loves her, being the second lead. I kept waiting and expecting. Hell the first I smiled while watching this drama was when I thought she was finally going to date the second lead. I honestly thought the story would be about them. I decided to check the reviews and saw that it wasn’t going in that direction, so I decided to drop it.
It had potential to be really good, but they had to go ahead and ruin it. The upside is that the rest characters and relationships aren’t so bad.

Just a watchable one..!!

Its more like a complicated love story with so many flaws throughout to the finale Episode. Not the typical style of likable narration but again they done a decent making and sensible justification for the Characters and all may leads this drama to a watchable one. As a big fan of realistic and kind of slice of life melodramas am happy with the way the drama goes , but i felt some dragging in the finale Episodes. The change in the gear kind of feeling and it was so sudden to accept and its so annoying for me bcoz when the male protagonist always mess everything all the time.

Particularly for this drama the story always against the male character even in the beginning also. Lee soo, he was a very bad Character in nature we can see that in the first pace of the drama and the heroin kyong woyoon who always kept her unrequited first love for over ten year now, and the guy she loved wants to stay friend with her even though in this long time of gap (its mentioned in the plot)

There is a big love traingle in the middle but if you look at the female leads point of view it makes sensible. There were also 2 other pairs struggling with their love life. One factor i found good here was even though there is big love traingle in the drama, there was no unwanted over traingle sequence like kisses even jealousy etc, they managed everything under control. I really liked the sixth Episode that beginning animation story which apply to the end of that Episode was really beautiful. The two other pairs was also good . I felt one thing that it probably a much better drama if they concluded everything under 12 Episodes. Because you just unnecessarily pushing Episodes in order to target 16 Episodes, too many dragging and unwanted scenes may occur, i felt that in the finale 3 Episodes. But again ending was beautiful.

Overall more than friends was a watchable romantic drama for me , but again i Watched in between a week gap with 2 Episodes each at the time of it airs, opinion may be different if you are a binge watcher. Give it a try if your interested.. :-)

I never thought I would be able to finish this drama. I went back on this drama three times after being frustrated. I watched Cdramas to lighten up my mood. The problem with KDrama is that the writers think life has so many problems. Problem after problem. I know life is not easy but watching a drama with so many problems is so depressing.
Story-
The issue here is that Lee Soo's misunderstood because he doesn't express himself or open up, I think even when he was dating Woo Yeon he still did not open up. He grew up in a broken family, the reason why he doesn't know how to love. Also, I don't know what to say with Kim Young Hee's 10 yrs of Unrequited love. Should I admire her? Pity her? Or knock her head so she would wake up? Their relationship is so messed up because they do not talk. They call each other so often but do not really talk.
Then another depressing here is the life of Kim Young Hee. Why is her life so hard? I just can't understand the reasoning that you cannot get married if you are so poor or if you're mother is sick. Young Hee does not want to share her burden with Hyun Jae but that's how relationship works. That's why you are partners. I wish to have a partner like Hyun Jae, someone who can love me unconditionally, who loves all my flaws and will always be there even I already gave up.
I cried when Hyun Jae visited her mother in the hospital after they broke up. Then I cried a lot when Young Hee's mom died, then cried again when the 2 friends showed up and comforted her, then Hyun Jae cried.
I love the friendship here, that I am so jealous. I hope I have friends that I can meet after work, can drink if happy or sad. Friends that I grew up with.

Cast
All the casts did well. Maybe I did not drop this drama because of their good acting. There are funny moments that helps me forget the sad part of the drama.

Music
I love the songs. All the songs really suited the drama.

Rewatch
I am not sure if I will watch this again as this drama made me cry so bad. I may not watch it again but for sure I will not forget this drama.

Overall
This could have been better if the writer lessen the issues of the cast.

In an unrequited love with what this drama could've been...

Do you really love the 14-15th episodes of k-dramas when the leads break up and everything is moody and sad? If so, then this drama is for you!
Story: The idea of unrequited love being flipped onto the other person like a curse was actually a nice concept, but there was no evolution. None of the plotlines had much growth in general. The problems the couples had in episode one, were the same problems they had in episode sixteen. It just got old and overly drawn out. The drama had its cute moments and I enjoyed most of it, but I got tired of the same plot every episode.
Acting/Cast: They really did all they could with the script that was given to them. The ML's acting has improved since Moment of Eighteen.
Music: Wonderful
Rewatch Value: Probably not
Overall: Throughout the drama, I felt an indescribable feeling of sadness(?) like I was in an unrequited love too. Kind of depressing and you wonder why they all ended up happy together, but I'm not mad at it. Just a little disappointed with the writers.

Bruh

You must have seen lots of reviews complaining about this drama. I would have to say that I also have the same thought.
The only reason I watched this till the end is Shin Ye Eun. I'm her fan. So if you aren’t one of the actors fan just skip this one.
