Amazing up until episode 28ish
Honestly, I absolutely loved this drama up until I got to around episode 28. The romance was top-notch and I love the female and male lead so much. However, I hated the way that he treated her when he found out that he might die later on in the show. He proceeded to not tell her anything then acted coldly towards her and not in a good way. He was absolutely terrible to her, especially when he embarrassed her in front of their coworkers during a meeting. Then, he got their cat euthanised without her permission. After that, he couldn't do anything to redeem himself for me.I hated the second couple so much. The way that they were so toxic and romanticised such things as stalking and persevering even when the girl has refused the guy. In real life, he could be arrested for such things. Moreover, he pretended to be in a relationship with someone else and repeatedly lied to her, and it's okay because he likes her?
I would recommend watching this drama up until around 28 and then dropping it. The rest was predictable and boring so you won't miss much.

Honestly a little disappointed with this drama. There were a few cute and funny moments but there was no spark between the main leads. The drama may have made me a little emotional at times but these emotions didn't last very long.
The female lead's acting was just to much too handle. Like, I understand, she's always happy and optimistic but at times it was a just too annoying. I feel as if most of Xing Fei's dramas are like this and they are all the same.
As much as I love Allen, he could have done better too. There were so many unexplained things such as the biggest one the ending. It was way to rushed even though the drama has 36 episodes.
I thought he had only a month to live, how did he manage to live longer? What is with the new heart? Also the doctor just randomly and suddenly died!
The fact that the bad people caused so much trouble and we didn't get to se the their proper ending was annoying too.
There were too many things wrong and I could go on but I'll leave it at that.
You could get through the drama if you love Allen a lot (like I do) but otherwise I can see why people dropped it at the start.

Really Wanted to Like This One......But Not
Started out strong....then, it became apparent there was very little chemistry between the two lead actors, Allen Ren & Fair Xing. In fact, it became painful to watch. AND, dressing Fair Xing in childish cloths to make her romping around to look like she was always "cheerful" was rather ludicrous. The mechanical heart theme was lame. Why did Allen Ren, who is a very accomplished actor, sign-on for this drama? Fair Xing was outstanding in My Little Happiness, so not sure why she signed-on either. Overall, I'm must be a lone wolf who didn't like this drama, as it has a 8.2 rating. Do not recommend. Was this review helpful to you?
Love a lot
I can say that this series is one of those light romantic comedy cdrama I’ve watched with beautiful story and good the script is quite interesting. Every actors did well in portraying their characters. I love the ML before in his series White Snake (back when I still don’t know him that much) but I love him even more now. ML and FL have good chemistry and I love the secondary couple as well. Highly recommended, if you want to ask why...well this is the type of series that anyone couldn’t help wait to see the next episode. Was this review helpful to you?

THE BEST MODERN DRAMA OF 2021
I'm watching on WETV. Everything about this drama is just PERFECT. Story, acting, CP chemistry (this is fire), music (OMG, the OSTs and the background music is just... no words (waiting for the full album on Spotify, or at least YouTube). I must say that after so many dramas, i've finally found my favorite actress, Fair Xing. Her acting is just perfect. I first saw her on The Moon Brightens For You and i liked her a lot. But now, with this drama, i fall deeply for her. Waiting for this week's episodes, i've watched My Little Happiness, another GREAT drama. The chemistry was over the top. This week i've finished Forget You Remember Love. Not so good like this drama and MLH, because of ML, but it was a 8/10. Hope to see more great dramas from her. Especially modern ones. And another strong skill for her, she can have a very good chemistry with all most all actors. This drama will be my all time fav modern drama. I think that it will be VERY HARD for another new modern drama, to captivate me so much. It's a torture for me to wait so many days for new episode, but at the same time i don't want that this drama ever end. :((( Just watch it! You won't regret it. For sure is THE BEST MODERN DRAMA OF 2021, until now.Was this review helpful to you?
I kept wondering if it would ever end!
This one is a difficult drama for me to review. When I read the synopsis, I thought it sounded really interesting, and somewhat original. I have enjoyed Fei Xing in other works (especially My Little Happiness) but this one really let me down. It started out well, but then one thing after another irritated me no end so it was hard for me to find the positives. I usually focus on the positive aspects in a review, but was unable to in this one.1) Costuming for all of the cast was good, except for Fei Xing who wore some of the worst outfits I've ever seen in a drama. Big pants, big blouses, poorly tailored, I think every outfit she wore was unattractive. They went to a semi-formal event, everyone was dressed up, and she was wearing jeans.
2) Martyr syndrome of the female lead. She accepted responsibility or took the blame for absolutely everything that happened to anyone in the show. When she took the blame for what the evil character had done 10 years ago, that was just too much. The majority of the conversations had her starting with "I'm sorry"
3) Second couple - he was a stalker and she was trying to be tough all the time. At the end they got a bit cute, but by that time I didn't like them.
4) Overacting of some of the cast, especially the other guy that liked the female lead and the woman that played the aunt.
5) Wow! So many bad guys! By the time we went through 32 episodes and found out in the LAST episode what the main bad guy had done, it was rushed. Then there was more apologizing by the girl and the second male lead.
6) Serious lack of chemistry between the leads. They acted, for the most part, more like brother and sister. There was one kiss, but even their handholding, etc. lacked any warmth. I do have to say there was a sizzling kiss between the second lead couple toward the end.
7) Too long and drawn out. It was episode after episode of sameness.
8) And, oh my gosh, can we talk about the ending?!?!?! I stuck through this long, drawn out drama and that's the ending you give me?!?! It was one of those endings that makes me mad.
I will admit that I am particular about my dramas, so I would say, if you liked the synopsis and think it sounds interesting, give it a try. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Strong start but dragging toward the end. Also, no chemistry between the leads.
(1) Trivial - but still crucial [~]Sorry I cannot not talk about this, lol.
The product placement in this drama is so ridiculous. It's both obvious and awkward. It's especially awkward when they let the ML says the advertisement scripts as all those scripts are clearly advertising, which is so much out of the character of the ML.
This isn't good for the overall atmosphere of the drama, but can't say it's not good for the consumers. At least the viewers are not psychologically deceived to absorb the product perception. Every viewer surely consciously awares when they put the advertisement in.
---------------------------------------------
(2) Story/Plotline [-]
The plotline is interesting. In the beginning, they present to the viewers quite a few plotlines that make the story multi-layered and interesting. The thing is they can't resolve their own plots when they need to make an ending to it.
The other components around the major plots lead the story off the topic from time to time. They also have problems with weighing and distributing the proportion of the main/important plots and the surrounding plots (esp. during toward the end).
Toward the end, it's actually both dragging and rushed.
- The overall storyline is dragging. I started to not have the motivation to keep on going when I reached around 3/4 of the drama and was stuck for a long time after watching ep.33. I almost dropped it, but still felt it'd be a pity with just 3 episodes left. When I reached the end, I didn't feel anything much anymore. I'd feel quite the same no matter the end was a happy or sad ending.
- For the rushed parts, it's the main conflict resolving part. For me, those conflicts are (1) the male lead's heart (2) the antagonist's crime. Both of these conflicts were resolved in the most cursory way. How dare and casual the writer +director develop plot (1) to the point that is most interesting and then intentionally throw it onto the floor instead of reasonably unchain it. They develop this plotline in the way of setting a promise to give a kind of answer to it. They are able to not develop the plot in this direction, so there wouldn't be that kind of promise, but they did it. And then they just trashed it with just an irresponsible sentence. This isn't about what the answer is. The answer can be positive or negative, that doesn't matter, but the process of having the answer is important. The only positive excuse for this shitty resolution would be the involved actor of this plot had an emergency reason to drop this drama project, so the production team needed to cut things out this way.
For plot (2), they make a lot of loopholes. The antagonist has always been smart and calm. Toward the end, they still show the antagonist as a confident person but at the same time makes a few important unreasonable decisions. It's out of his character. I can only see that the production team can't find a good way to put him down, so here comes the easy, casual, passing resolvement.
---------------------------------------------
(3) Acting [-]
The score drops due to the female lead. She plays herself in every drama she's in. I see her having affairs with each male lead she plays with because she is always the same person. This is the life in the parallel universe of the FL in Put Your Head On My Shoulder as well as of the FL in My Little Happiness. Those are the top two dramas of this FL that I like and made me follow her to this Miss Crow (though I didn't finish Put Your Head On My Shoulder properly as I skimmed toward the end).
There's not much chemistry between the FL and ML either. I feel nothing from both the FL and ML's acting in their love scenes. This is another reason why there's not much motivation to drive me to finish it. The second FL and ML even have more chemistry than the main couple in my opinion.
---------------------------------------------
(4) Production [+]
High production done properly. No complaint.
---------------------------------------------
(5) Music [+]
This is what should be praised the most for this drama. Most of the songs are pretty good. It's above Chinese dramas' average. It's obvious they put their heart and effort into composing these songs for the drama. In the beginning episodes, the new songs come out again and again and most of them are good to the point that can stop me from fast-forwarding the scenes that can be fast-forwarded. I don't remember being stopped from fast-forwarding to listen to the soundtracks in Chinese dramas before.

Stop saying Boss Boss!! So annoying
First 10mins of this drama was SO GOOD! It was so intense and got me very interested. The few episodes that followed were good, even the 2nd couple got me wanting for more. But towards episode 15 onwards maybe (can’t remember cos I dropped this about a month ago, only writing the review now;)) it was getting tiresome. Especially with Xiao Ning saying Lao pan, Lao pan in every other sentence! Da*n annoying!!!Chemistry between leads was poor. I think it’s because Allen Ren is married? He has another new drama with Bai Lu, whom I like; but not sure whether to watch if it’s gonna lack chemistry. I read online he does fake kissing scenes, and they use a stand-in actor if you see the lips touching. And I see that he’s got quite a number of new dramas lined up. I honestly wonder why he’s so popular? Don’t think he’s super good looking, acting skills are stiff and nominal, plus he won’t do kissing scenes and lacks PDA... then how to do romance dramas??
2nd couple had great potential. I initially liked the character Chao Yan for her independence and fighting skills. They also had a great couch kissing scene ? But after that, their story got annoying as well, running around in circles.
So yeah... dropped it at Episode 25 (read there was a stupid break-up scene :P after that). Also the styling for Xiao Ning was VERY VERY BAD!!! She goes to an award show in jeans and sweater -face palm! Hair style also sucked. Don’t recommend this at all. BORING

Fluffy but mediocre plot
I really liked the vibe of this drama and the fluffiness of scenes — the relationship between the leads and the second leads are adorable, and the bromance and sismance were also really nice.Though I like individual scenes though, some things just feel really cliche and hard to believe when it came to plot, and development of the story was sometimes lacking cohesion — some things that happen are unclear and led to cliches that I didn’t need. I have to admit that the premise of the drama requires some suspension of disbelief which I had trouble with, but over time I got used to it.
Other than that, most of the obstacles were handled well, but I felt like the last few eps of this drama fall into a melodramatic progression (to be honest a lot of Chinese dramas fall victim to it) but there were the very dramatic tropes of kidnapping, noble idiocy, corporate corruption, etc. All of these are just really annoying and unnecessary to me.
Lastly — I have to say that the OST for this drama is really good, but sometimes doesn't match the scene well.

Cute in the first half.
I actually really liked this in the beginning. I skipped some scenes with the FL and her bubbly personality because it was just cringey to me. Her relationship with her friend, Tang Xu made me sad because I didn't want him to be in love with her, for once couldn't we just have an older brother character who treated the FL like family and didn't turn into a love interest? And then they had to make him turn evil (kinda) around episode 25-26? When the story shifted focus from the couple to work issues and put them against each other. I skipped most of that episode, because I just felt really sorry for him. I was happy to see him talking to the FL normally later, and even talking to her aunt who apparently hated him, and I thought he'd have a hapy ending, but they ruined it still. As for Xu Cheng Ran, I had so many issues with this kid, the only part I liked about him was his friendship with Gu Chuan and how he genuinely cared for his friend and was always there for him. I won't say anything about how he treated his dad, because the old man was an ass, but the way he treated Tang Xu always irritated me. (The way Tang treated his own dad for most of their time together also pissed me off.)I loved Ren Allen in this. After watching Destiny of White Snake I was looking for something new to watch when clips of this show appeared in my recommendeds on youtube. I didn't immediately recognize him with his hair down, but he did instantly make me think of Levi Ackerman, one of my favorite anime characters ever, so for that alone I knew I'd be watching this show. Gu Chuan, even when he acts cold, was very cute to me. The sad parts made me sad, but watching how the FL slowly thawed him out made me smile. Seeing how ready he was to smile for her always made me giddy.
Like I can tell they didn't have any actual kisses on screen, but it still made me blush and giggle every time they looked at each other. I've seen complaints from other comments about the lack of chemistry between them, but as someone that could read hundreds of chapters of nothing but fluff (only the best kind of fluff) I don't need to see characters trying to eat each other's lips or stripping each other on screen to think they have good chemistry. They made me feel shy with nothing but looks and soft touches, and that for me makes really amazing chemistry. I loved them together, felt sad when he decided to push her away for her own good, and I hate that the FL could only develop after he pushed her away. For most of the drama, she kept the same hairstyle and awkward clothing style, acted kinda bubbly and childish, until they broke up, then she looked more mature. But she was 23 already so was there a reason she had to dress up and act like she was 13 for most of the story?
The best part of this show was the music. I'm going to find all the songs in the OST because they were beautiful and complemented the story well.
What I did NOT like was that final episode. The resolution they chose was terrible. Honestly, I was only invested in this for the leads (or just for Gu Chuan) so I skipped a lot. From episode 26, there was a lot that was skippable, so I don't remember much in the last ten episodes of the story, but how they decided to resolve everything moved way too quickly. They literally included a kidnapping plot and the resolution with the ML's heart in the final episode, also unmasking and arresting the villain (and I hope Tang Xu somehow got out of that because I still felt sorry for him by the end of the story, that kid needed someone protecting HIM. Someone write a fanfic about that, please.) Too much happened in that episode, and it ends with the FL narrating the aftermath so we're not left in the dark. Considering the draggy part in the middle of the story, where they sacrificed the fluff, they could have done it better.
Notice how I didn't talk much about the second leads? They had some cute moments but I didn't really like their storyline so essentially skipped over them after the first few episodes.
Overall, I'd give it a much lower rating if I didn't love Gu Chuan so much.
