I'm gonna preface this by saying that I'm biased towards this pairing, and may or may not have scored it higher than what I would've if it were a different pair. I was at first disappointed in the beginning, but overtime the lakorn did get better and there was a twist in the later episodes that made everything that happened in the earlier episodes make more sense. The chemistry between these two were just as amazing as their last lakorn, and certainly made this a fun watch. However, I recognize that the storytelling overall had some bumps and this is just one of the lakorns where you can't think too hard, or it'll ruin the drama for you (I'm usually not a fan of these typess but Mike/Mookda make it worth it for me haha).I would say that the biggest issue I had with this lakorn was the storyline and characters in the first half (up to ep 7-8). Things quickly got repetitive with Dao fighting with Kran's family and her revenge plot not really moving forward. I was also turned off by how easy Songkran seemed to be; he easily accepted Dao into his life despite being a Casanova who never gets close to women and had this insta-love for her, which made no sense. I also didn't like how over the top Kran's family was. There was also a lot of forced comedy moments that felt cringey and moments of Kran's dad and brother-in-law being womanizers that was supposed to be passed of as humor but felt uber creepy to me instead (especially towards Dao; I was really turned off here and didn't understand why Kran, who knew about this, was ok with it).
However, Kran's behavior was explained by a twist I didn't expect at all, in which he'd actually known who Dao was all along and wanted to play along for her game, but ended up falling for her instead.
Even before this reveal happened, I found myself surprisingly falling for Kran because he's a total mushy romantic with cheesy dialogue, supplemented by silly facial expressions and shameless actions that made me laugh. I really didn't expect this from him and it was endearing to watch him try to win Dao's love. Even more lovable was how he accepted Dao even though he knew she was deceiving him, and kept his distance even though he wanted nothing more than to beg her to take him back (gotta love when a ML is not clingy to the FL y'all). I loved how he was able to pick up the pieces when things fell apart with his family and how he's smarter than I gave credit for. His relationship with his son was super adorable, and they made a great father son tag team haha, especially against Dao. Overall, I grew to love him and was rooting for him to get with Dao.
I liked Dao a lot too, although in the beginning I was a little turned off by how she was implementing her revenge (especially flirting with her in-laws, that was gross to me). But later on, you could really see that the poor girl did not have the heart for revenge and was confused on whether the things she was doing was for revenge or out of love. I also related a lot to her as the middle-man between her dad and sister; it's similar to my own situation and it was great watching her be a great sister and filial daughter. I wish she was more affirmative in her love for Kran near the end, but I understand she was thinking of her dad first and that's totally something I can get behind.
The best thing about this show was hands down Kran's son Pika and Dao's father. I usually don't like how kids are portrayed in lakorns but this kid was super super cute; I loved how he's just as cunning as his dad and how he was the cupid for getting Dao and Kran back together. Him calling for his P'Dao just melted my heart. As for the dad, I really didn't expect him to go from a heartless, scary bandit leader (in another lakorn) to a gruff, overdramatic teddy bear that made me giggle with his antics. A golden line that got me laughing was when Dao was telling him that sleeping with Kran was part of the plan; he goes "What crazy plan is this? You wanted to get revenge but instead he got you naked???" LOL. Again these were characters I didn't expect to like as much as I did.
The direction of the story also surprised me; I really didn't expect for Kran's family to go from riches to rags. Karma really did hit them hard and I was honestly here for it.
Beyond that, there's not much that stands out for me; the side characters served their purpose and I guess if I did have a gripe with one of them, it'd be Jan. I wish they had Jan move on already from Kran, and they made her look so dumb for not being able to do so when she didn't even know him for that long. I was kinda shipping her with Uncle Nu tbh. Her actions in the last episode was very weird to me, and in general the story in the last episode was kinda wonky.
As for the music, I enjoyed the main theme song even before the lakorn aired and in general, I really appreciated the use of a second song and appropriately placed bgm. Not much complaints here.
Overall, the bumps and holes in this story are things you'd only notice if you focus on the nitty gritty (so I'd advise you don't put your critical lens on), but I think this never really presented itself as anything more than a silly rom-com. I do think this was better than your average rom-com lakorn because there was a cohesive story throughout with lovable characters to root for, and fire chemistry between our leads. If you like rom-coms, I'd say to go ahead and watch this or if you're like me and watch multiple dramas at once, this is a pretty good one to watch when you don't want to think too hard and want a breather.

Extra points for the chemistry
What to say about this lakorn? If you’re here for Mike and Mook, than it’s definitely worth checking, they’re gorgeous as always, their chemistry amazing and I love each one of their scenes together. Also, the little one is adorable and the interactions father-son, in their own little world, were so damn precious and melted my heart.
But,
If you’re looking for a good drama, then this is probably NOT the one. Super old-fashioned kind of plot/humor, jokes that shouldn’t exist before and even less in 2021.
Exemplifying (inevitable SPOILERS, but minors, read at your own risk): sound of an elephant when a fat person falls, the use of body to obtain things, how “funny” it is to have men “escaping” home to go to brothels. And the worse, they dared to make fun of having the father in law trying to get into his daughter in law’s bed. Like, WTF. Let’s not even talk the unreasonable repulse mother and daughter had to Dao. Oh, and I seriously worry about the actors’ healthy, the much they screamed the entire drama I’m sure they needed throat treatment. Finally, not one or two but FOUR crazy reject girls being obsessed about the lead guy (yeah, he’s hot, totally agree, but come on…).
Rant done. Is this drama worth checking? It all depends on what you’re looking for. I finished it because the leads’ chemistry is phenomenal and gave me strength to keep going. If you don’t know them yet and want a good drama, I highly suggest you to watch Maturot Lohgan instead. Surreal chemistry, interesting plot, great characters and action scenes… one of my faves!

"Spicy Lakorn"... +15
Actually, this is the first ver. that I Watched From Ku Kaen San Rak'S adaptations. more than half of the story is like other Lakorns nothing was new. supporting roles will be on your nerves... weird dressing for work... a girl is so bad thirsty for a guy's love she can do everything to Everyone.. It's just the same and still was stupidly wrong for me. (always is) BUT if I don't factor in other parts ML and FL's attitude toward each other really caught my eyes. their acting and their story was really cute...everything was on fire in this drama(like other Lakorns) except ML AND FL AND ML'S CHILD. their "Little Cute Family" was so heartwarming ... I usually don't watch a drama where FL and ML want to hunt each other at first and hurt each other very badly in the Middle than they will become strong lovers at the end (this kind of romance is total bullshit) so if you Wanna " more than a half healthy romance/ drama with a spicy relationship" try this out ONLY FOR FL AND ML.Was this review helpful to you?
Light rom-com suitable to fight dullness by covid 19
I am a big fan of rom-com genre and this series has been in my radar ever since I watch the trailer. I read various comments on how the original version was a disappointment to some viewers and how they think it will be such a waste to watch the remake. As for me, everyone entitled to their opinion- if you are looking for a good and heart warming love with comedy antics, this drama is perfect for you . BUT if you the kind of person who watch with eagle eyes- this drama may cause you high blood pressure.I genuinely enjoyed this drama despite of numerous critics about how the drama trying so hard to be funny, how Dao can ridiculously fell in love with Kran in midst of the drama or how other couples didn't get enough screen time. I totally love how the drama focus on Dao-Pica - Kran relationship, to the point i cried at the Mother's Day celebration scene. The chemistry between Dao and Pica is no joke, it almost on the same par with Dao-Kran chemistry. Although drama plot of FL approaches ML for revenge is kind of boring but game flip was totally unexpected. I really thought Kran was stupidly fall into Dao's game and turned blind eye every time she almost spilled the tea, it turnout he was playing along. The best part was, he came to understand Dao's reason for staging such scam and still love her for who she was. In midst of his crazy-greedy family, Kran and Pica seemed to be the most decent ones.
Comparing the level of hotness between Mike-Mookda in Koo Kaen San Rak and Maturot Lohgan, this drama made me wish they are real (not gonna happened cause Mike is dating Pooklook Fonthip). The body language, the facial expression with funny banter between those two made me laugh and smile by watching them. I find myself wishing for another drama for Mike-Mookda tandem. Dao's father- Khun Saeng was funny in the last two episodes which was another flip of character as he was portrayed as grumpy and conservative old man. I think the casts were enjoying themselves filming this drama as I found several times of them holding up their laughter and expression.
In midst of worrying when the world gonna turn to normal (go away Covid!), this drama made my day.

Not bad, even VERY good, but could have been better, especially when you compare to the originalSo I watched the original after hearing about the reunion between Michael and Mookda (I loved their pairing in Mathurot Loghan, even though I didn’t really like the drama). And because I absolutely LOVED it, I had high expectations for this one, since it even included one of my favorite ships.
And overall, I was actually a bit disappointed… I wouldn’t say it was bad, it was even nice but this wasn’t epic, and it could have been much better.
The writing, setting was not very subtle, even sometimes vulgar. For example, Dao’s tricks and fights with Rosita and his family were mostly based physical or childish pranks, not using real wits (for example, the fight at the hospital : in 2011 when Dao knew Songkran was coming and pretended they had attacked her one-sided by stuffing flowers into her mouth in a smart move... but here, her « move » was a bit involontary as they were already holding her when Songkran came in without warning. Also, this made it much less funny.
The pacing was sometimes too fast : I mean, in the third episode, Songkran already fell in love for good with Dao because she saved his son... which is not very good to me, because I prefer when he gradually fell in love with her for her personnality
Also, Dao's seducing is less... subtle than in the 2011 version which is too bad because with Mookda's sex appeal, they could do much better.
The writers also made plenty of changes compared to the original that were unneeded, even annoying or cliche :
- Kran’s brother in law who became a vulgar, sexual molester who married his wife for money. This was useless to the plot, and that kind of character is very cliche (moreover, the actor always plays this kind of character). Compared to the original where the brother in law was a funny imbecile who made the viewer laugh very much, and even turned attaching when he comforted his nephew, this change was not needed.
-Jan’s character who became the annoying, jealous sister. She spent most of the drama crying over Songkran not loving her, even though she barely knew him, and even though it was obvious he was never sincere with her ; and during the last bit, she turned into a jealous b***. Again, compared to the original when she had gone through a great character development/growing, this is disappointing. It's quite a pity because I had loved her growth in the original, and seeing her bonding again with her father and grow more mature. Here, she's very selfish, self-centered, materialistic and shallow
-the ex-wife returning and causing troubles. SERIOUSLY, IS THERE ANY BIGGEST CLICHE ?!
-the nang rais. Again, they all had a good character development in the original and this is gone here. Rose’s final repentance which made her attaching to the viewer is gone and the actress isn’t great either, I remember that the previous actress succeeded in being funny and natural despite a difficult part (the usual mean girl), so the Rose who was actually a comical character and eventually attaching disappears here to become quite ridiculous (moreover, the costumes they gave her made her look like a 5-years-old kid and it was hard to think she was a model and Songkran’s ex-girlfriend) ; mad, delusional, crazy Marin who became a villain due to traumatic experiences turned into a jealous, seducing, mistress (the actress did a great job, though, no blaming on her) and nice Ingjan turned into a pathetic, self-pitying jealous brat and a useless, annoying nang Rai (I don’t even see why they felt the need to make her a villain only for a part of the last episode, since it didn’t even impact the plot). I also didn't like the fact that once again, rape is used as a trope to punish the nang rai, even before she did anything wrong, and the real trauma implied by rape was rape or the fact that this was what mlay have been her turning point was overlooked
- the villains received a different kind of karma here, that was again very cliche, even though it was satisfying (the adulterous couple of villains who end up with the main killed by his wife and the mistress disfigured by thrown acid by his wife ? Cliche. The cheated wife who was a bitch and ends up in prison after that ? Cliche. And the male lead’s evil family who loses their wealth and company in the hands of a traitor and repents after that ? Again, cliche).
- Most important point : the supporting characters receive much less screen time (some might as well be absent) and as I said and will repeat, are much less attaching, for many reasons. Modaeng and Ou’s chemistry is no longer here, and Gigi and Aoey barely exist and are uninteresting. We don’t feel any real development, especially in their relationships. Again, one of of the strongest points of the original was the supporting characters but they totally failed about this here
I know, I compare it a lot to the original. But even when you don’t compare it to the original, this isn’t that great. As I said, a lot of cliches and writing pretty vulgar, stereotypical.
However, don’t make me say what I didn’t say : this isn’t unwatchable, I personnally like it a lot and I think a lot will. This eventually makes you laugh. You are still touched by Songkran’s devoted love and efforts towards Dao (which is no less than in the original and even reserves a few surprises). Mookda and Michael’s chemistry is still there, which saves the whole drama. Most of the actors did a great job : I was surprised to see Mike’s talent for comic scenes and he’s still as good as always to play the man in love ; Mookda is so great when she plays a fierce and seducing woman, and even better to play the woman in love ; a great BRAVO also to the actress playing crazy Marin : she was so good at being a scary bitch 😂 !
Finally, seeing Songkran’s family receive their lesson and repenting was quite satisfying : I really liked how the drama focused on the importance of family love, showing that it overcomes love of money (the scenes with Dao’s family were very touching, despite annoying Ingjan ; Songkran’s family also turned touching in the end). Also, Dao’s bound with Orca, Songkran’s son, was especially moving, even more developed than in the original.
Also, the last episode is very satisfying for the fans of this ship but also for the fans of Mathurot Loghan : I couldn’t help but notice a few ironical winks to ML, as three actors reunited to here played a completely opposite yet symetrical situation to their characters in ML
-explanation/SPOILERS : Phutarit, who used to play the villainous foster father of Michael (Songkran here) in ML who absolutely wanted Michael to get Mookda (Dao here) pregnant to shame her ; in here, he acts as Dao’s doting father, a completely different character (so when you remember how his character would treat her in ML, it feels funny to see him act as her father who’s crazy about her) ; but here, when she eventually turns pregnant of Songkran, he is first despaired, being an overprotective father who doesn’t like his new son in law and this is quite funny when you know that pregnancy between the two actors’ characters was what his character wanted in ML 😂; I can’t help but think of it as a wink to Mathurot Loghan where the three actors used to play
By the way, also a great bravo to the actor who played Dao’s father. They played together in ML and he was so hateful to her and for the viewers ; here, it feels like a little revenge because he plays her doting father ; moreover, they had an incredible chemistry when acting as the father and daughter who were very close. The actor is great for every aspect of the character : the angry father towards irresponsible and selfish Jan, the doting father towards Dao who was so like him and caring towards him, the mad owner who got robbed, the funny, grumpy, playful old man you could only like, the father who would be despaired for his daughters when they would feel hurt
In short, this is far from being as good as the original but it’s still good, nice to watch for the two leads and touching scenes of the family.

Enchanting Chemistry and Hilarious Plot!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this series; it's incredibly entertaining and hilarious. I initially tuned in because I'm a fan of the main leads, having watched their previous collaborations and appreciating the excellent chemistry between them. The storyline is engaging, and even though it follows the familiar trope of a playboy falling in love with a country girl, it still manages to captivate from the first episode to the end. Besides Kem, Michael is one of the leading men I particularly enjoy seeing alongside MookdaWas this review helpful to you?
Michael being shirtless
●FIRST IMPRESSIONWithin the first 10minutes of episode 1, FL played a prank on ML and that compelled me to binge it.
●PLOT VIEW
According to the synopsis, one could easily predict half of the story but the way it is presented is amazing. You cant be bored of the light romantic comedy with lots of flirty moments between Songkran and Dao. They had a mature relationship with clear intentions. Dao's pranks when she goes to ML's house were funny yet correct because I believe you should treat every1 with respect if you want to receive respect.
But Songkran pickup lines and fatherly love for Pika can melt anyone's heart. No wonder Dao fell for the invincible Cassanova.
The latter part of the drama was unpredictable and shocking especially the IngJan part. Everyone received their karma.
Songkran and his son Pika were exceptions, with good looks they were amazing in their communication skills. Pika's growing relationship with Dao was purely innocent. The way Dao showered her motherly love was applauding. the 3people cute family was so adorable. pika was a cupid to Dao and Songkran
ML family member were like circus jokers, I don’t want to be judgemental but the way they behaved and do things, it was bad but the way they dressed up they didn’t look sophisticated as they claim. I wasn’t convinced with 360change of the attitude of the ML family.
FL's father was cute and his character was comical because the story is humorously inclined to him at the end.
Sia Ou and Moddang relationship was nice wish if they had more screentime showing the development of their relationship.
All the other female supporting characters mother, ramita, rosita, Marin, secretary, etc were too much. lots of screen time was given to their bitch fighting which was unnecessary.
●ACTING/CAST
Michal as Invincible casanova Songkran nailed his role. It felt like the role was written just for him. the way he pursues Dao, surely gives out tips to pursuing a girl. Other than that his father figure was OK, at least he behaved well in front of him and cared for his child more than anything.
Mook Mookda as Dao was superb. Her action, romance, and expressions are excellent. She is very good at the scenes where she has to take someone down, either with a physical fight or a communication fight. Her wardrobe as Daopradub was very fashionable.
●MUSIC
OSTs were nice, loved all the tracks.
The opening track was wow, I didn’t skip it for all 17 episodes. The rapping, lyrics, dancing, background graphics, everything about that song was lovely.
Trumpet music in the romance scene was seductive, elevating the perfect mood of the shirtless scene of Songkran. BGM was amazing, those small tunes fit perfectly.
●REWATCH
I would rewatch the flirty parts of leads.
●FAV SCENE
When the ML is chased by FL father(17}
Also sounding cheesy but Songkran shirtless scenes too are a must-watch.
●RECOMMENDATION
If you like light, flirty, fluffy romance you can watch KU KAEN SAN RAK
●AFTERTHOUGHT
A doctor can cure your ugly face but not your ugly heart.

I really anticipated this lakorn.
The chemistry between Mike and Mookda is really good. The story line wasn't what I was expected. There's some flaws here and there if you pay close attention.Songkran was a player, casanova who never was serious with any girl until he met Dao. Songkran did really live up to his nickname except when he lets Dao live with him suddenly. But, then it was explained later that he knew who she was. So, I guess he just wants to play her game. But, I was expecting something like a big realization where he finds out about Dao's identity.
Dao is a strong character who wants to take revenge for her sister and father. I don't usually like main girls taking revenge because most of the time they forgot what their goal was. And that is exactly what Dao was doing. Her revenge plan wasn't moving forward at all throughout the series. Didn't even manage to get the contract and Songkran just give it her easily too. All she does was flirt around with Songkran and his family which is disgusting.
Jan and Rin are both weak at first, but turned evil later. I think these two characters are my favorite. This version made Jan head over heels for Songkran. Before the finals, I was already suspecting that Jan will turn evil and she did. From the way her father was treating her to her older sister liking the man that she likes. So I understand why she turned evil.
I was expecting a big confrontation between the main leads and Rin and the brother-in-law. But, they were attack my Songkran's sister instead. Their punishment was too quick and wasn't good. I also was expecting Jan to be stronger than she is towards the end. Once she turned evil, I wanted to see her being evil all the way. But, her scenes in jail knowing the truth from her father made me cry so much.
Overall, the chemistry of the couple is great. I probably wouldn't rewatch it. The plot is not that good in my opinion. But, if you like Mike and Mookda just give it a try. :)

Other thing is, when I watched this for the first time, there was CHAKRIT, plus young Aum Patcharapa. Now, not only this is not original, but I need to put up with Michael Pattaradet & MOOKDA, instead (both these actors "proved" themselves to me in their previous lakorns I DROPPED).
Anyways the online site which this series was on was rather slow, and the video kept buffering till I found myself not really feeling the need to finish the 1st episode, meaning more than one hour of this.
