Behind the 5 minutes of fame and dazzle on stage are years of unseen practice and effort. SMTOWN is one of South Korea’s largest record labels and home to some of K-pop's top artists, including BoA, TVXQ, GIRL’S GENERATION, SUPER JUNIOR, and more. “I AM” follows the past and present lives of these SMTOWN artists through never-before-seen audition tapes, practice clips, and private interviews. Embellished with performances from SMTOWN’s historic concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, the film presents an intriguing and poignant look into the lives of the young stars. Ok so my uncle brought back this movie on his trip to Asia and I JUST finished watching it 2 minutes ago... I'm NOT kidding! :) The movie broke my heart seeing them training with no sleep but at the end it made them really close :) I loved every minute of it. I loved how they weaved in debut videos into the performance the groups did back in 2012. I'm not kidding. This movie touched my heart and the end made me cry tears of joy. It was so inspiring. I am SO happy i am a kpop fan~

Story: It was really nice to see SM show the singers their debut videos and to see their reactions to it. They are so humble even though they got famous. I loved every bit of this movie.

Acting/cast- Considering the idols played themselves, it was really good. In the beginning they introduced each idol by showing the idols saying how they felt about their stage name and compare how they actually are in real life. It really touched my heart when they showed Victoria from f(x) trying to learn Korean.

Music-They played the live versions of the songs they preformed in Madison Square Garden. I found myself dancing throughout the whole movie... ESPECIALLY when they played sorry sorry :P

Rewatch value- I would DEFINITELY rewatch it :) It was really good.

Overall-If you are a kpop fan, this is a MUST WATCH movie. :)

I had been looking forward to watch this movie for ages. I am happy that I got to watch it finally today. Being a big SM fan, it was a pleasure watching most of my favorite idols get up-close and personal. I knew some of their stories, while some were totally new.

I don't know how to rate the story since the idols shared their real-life experiences. Everyone had a different thing to tell. Some interested me and some did not.

I love the music! SNSD, Super Junior, f(x), BoA, TVXQ and SHINee are all among my favorites. That's the reason I gave the music full score. Their tunes are all catchy and addictive.

At times their confessions got a bit boring and slow for my taste because it was totally scripted. I am sure what they said was the truth but trying to make me believe that they cried during the recording was something I couldn't buy. LOL. The thing is that these people are telling their stories to make money which may or may not be a bad thing.

Anyway, I'd say this documentry-concert is good as a one-time watch. Only for SM fans though. I'd recommend the rest to only look up clips of their favorite idols instead of watching the whole thing which could otherwise seem boring.
