If you want to watch a kdrama ,don't listen to the others reviews and just try it !!
I've watched this kdrama when it was airing and I really enjoyed it so much .I'm not good at talking about my feelings toward dramas or how I should describe the drama to someone . But , I really want you to know that no one made me watch it with force . I just wanted to watch it and that's it .
So , what I want to say it ; this drama have the best plot ever (for me) and the actors did a very great job in it . The main couple , Park Bo-young and Seo In-guk , match each other so much that made me want to watch this drama agaiin every time I remember it . Not forget about the couple Shin Do-hyun and Lee Su-hyeok . They catched my attention since the first ep .
Maybe there is others who think that this drama is just like other fantastic kdrama but this just have another type that made me watch it .
I hope you give it a try and watch it . It may be amusing and good like I said or you may don't like it . You should see that by yourself ;)

An Enjoyable Show Nonetheless
For some reason I really wanted to watch this show, like it was on my watchlist for the longest time. The show started off very interesting, and I really liked the plot. Yes, it is a little bit like Goblin, but this is still a good show that is unique. I really really thought this show had a stellar OST, not only were the singers all big names, but the songs were also very good. I will start out with my critiques, the reason why I gave this an 8.5 was because this show was very enjoyable, but it was not "next level." It really tried to be and succeeded in some ways, but it was a little predictable and was not some of the other next level kdramas that I have seen. What I did like was that it was a little thought provoking. It really made the audience wonder: what would I do if I had 100 days to live? In general, this show let you put yourself in the shoes of Dong-Kyung, and it made us wonder what we would do given her situation. With the character of Doom, he was not the most likeable male protagonist, and certain traits were overdone, but it did not compromise the show. I was expecting to see him show off his godly powers more, but he was more human than expected. I think that while Park Bo-Young did do an amazing job, the love triangle between the secondary characters did it for me. That was surprisingly interesting, and that kept me gripped and happy to watch it. The main love story was good, but the love triangle was really fun for some reason. Overall this show was good, it was more than simple, but not quite complex and mind blowing. I would recommend it to watch, and it is not hard to watch since episode lengths hardly exceed an hour for the most part. The love triangle and the role and character of the little girl deity was really cool to watch, so I would say give this show a try.Was this review helpful to you?

Frustrating !!
If i am being honest, the story was quite lame. I watched the drama due to its popularity. And I wonder what made the drama so popular?? I am guessing it’s because of good looking cast. Not gonna lie, the cast is top notch..The lead couple has good chemistry. The 2nd lead couple was hottt and their love triangle was fun . But the story lacks and there are many plot holes.
Our FL is a typical damsel in distress with every possible tragedy, orphaned , terminally ill, cheater boyfriend and evil boss. Then comes her knight in shining armour, DOOM. ML doesn’t feel like doom or destruction. He is actually quite nice contrary to his role as doom (like seriously)!!!!!!!
What frustrated me most was THE DEAL between doom and the FL. I tried to understand but the contract was still unclear till the end !! She will die a painless death if she uses her wish to bring end to the world or else someone she loves will die! So to prevent that, FL tries to fall in love with the doom. Then doom will disappear? But she actually falls for doom and now she don’t wanna die and also don’t want doom to die? Soo much confusion. Also how can doom die, he is death himself ? Aghh
Another annoying bit was the amnesia part, they both remembered everything in the same episode, so what was the point of amnesia !!! It didn’t change the story or anything for that matter. The deity in the show is soo weird. The show overall gives a really gloomy vibe. I can’t imagine to rewatch this drama, i already finished it with great difficulty.

Intense start , but fails to entertain in any aspect later
I would say that this was a wasted potential . The actors were all so good , but the story was all over the place . Even their deal seemed senseless to me !Things I liked :
1. They took time is showing their emotional connect , though much time hadn't passed in real , it was only 3months they knew each other, but on screen chemistry was too good.
2. The actors were very good in exhibiting their emotions.
3. Even after he died , they gave some time to show her feelings and how she waited for him , trying to restart her life.
4. Messages were nice and apt.
5. No rushed endings
Things i disliked :
1. To begin with the deal between them was ridiculous AF.
2. God was doing just unnecessary things , pulling him away from her life them sowing the seeds of their love. :|
3. The story was all over uninteresting after they fall in love.
4, Overuse of words like 'die' , 'disappear' , 'not exist'.
5. Why was she preparing to die when it was obvious that he is the one who will die.
6. Emotions were good but romance should have been better to go with those emotions !
7. the main story was sad , the second leads could have been interesting to keep the temp . but They were plain sad too !!
All in all , as much a i like the actors and their chemistry , the story was boring for me after mid-way !

It could have been better
The drama had too much going on and didn't make sense at times. The actors were the selling point of this show to me, Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk's chemistry really made me forget about the inconsistencies at times. The supporting characters are fun to watch too, especially Na Ji Na, Cha Joo Ik and Lee Hyun Kyu. Their romance doesn't follow the usual narrative and that's something I appreciate. Overall though in order to really enjoy it I had to switch off my brain which isn't what I want to be doing.Check out my full review:

What could have gone wrong? One word: CONFUSION!
This ended a month ago and that is how long it took me to get through the last 4 episodes. That is a sign of what I thought of this show. Let me preface that I didn’t hate this drama. It actually had a lot of potential to be one of the better dramas of 2021. It had a great cast that seemed to have really natural chemistry. A bomb-ass soundtrack that stayed on repeat on my playlist. And a premise that seemed like an automatic hit. What could have gone wrong? One word: CONFUSION!Read the rest of the review on my blog: https://bit.ly/3rp1Rk8

Worth your time
I am honestly not sure why so many people dislike this drama. I didn't watch it for literally so long because I heard it wasn't great, and now I feel gipped. This drama is fantastic. This drama is gorgeous. This drama is funny and deep and makes you think, with great acting and a pretty good OST to boot.Back to the "this drama is gorgeous". I mean this very objectively-- not in a way like I just liked the drama so I want to overlook flaws. They use a lot of gorgeous, creative shots and scene cuts that gave the drama it's own timeless vibe without being dragged on too long a la Goblin.
The drama is just plain funny. It played it's cards well in presenting "doom" as something that could also be really funny, in a "망했다" sort of way. They really explored a lot there, too, with all the different areas doom "looked after" in the world.
It was fun to wrap my head around what sort of existence "doom" would be, almost like a yin-yang approach to deity. There was plenty of time to think about what I would want to do if I knew I only had a hundred days left.
Great acting- Seo In Guk has a great range of emotions, and I liked Park Bo Young here more than some of her other roles. She was still energetic and loving and cute, but a much more mature character. In fact, the writing for all the characters felt really well done. The ML and FL weren’t flat (that's my biggest conplaint for most romcoms) and the side lovelines felt like real people processing information and reacting, for all that the storyline was drama-esque (still had the tropes and fluttery situations). The way all the characters bantered felt very real like thet actually liked each other (as friends or in a loveline) and Seo In Guk made me get all emotional towards the end. Also, the girl-god fascinated me. She, like all the characters in the drama, felt like a real person who said things, but always had more going on on the inside. Every character felt like that, so it was fun to read in between the lines, watch the body language and context, etc.
It was not a perfext drama. Not all of the cast were convincing criers. The brother sometimes felt a bit flat, and I never totally understood why the second male lead and second female lead liked each other (Her first love story gets a pass because she was discovering she'd been in love with a memory of him). But overall... there are a lot of only so-so romcoms that get rave reviews... I'm not saying they shouldn't, but this one definitely shouldn't be looked over. Kudos to this rare romcom that garnered my admiration!

I cried sooo much
This was obviously one of the best or even the best drama I've ever watched. this OST from ailee is so heartbreaking.its one of my favourite songs btw . So the story itself was at some points hard to follow ,but you'll get it. the acting was gorgeous I'm in love with the main actress how she can express anxiety and sadness at once (this is so amazing compared to which kind of person she played in strong woman Do Bong Soon). if you like sad dramas to cry out your eyes this is the best to watch I'd cry just replaying the scenes in my head. if you want to watch it then please do it on grey cold days in the winter or autumn- you'll completely get into it and yes it's 10 out of 10 and I don't want to spoiler so I'm ending this review here (P.S. it's totally worth watching it so don't hesitate and dooo it. you won't regret it, I promise)Was this review helpful to you?
It's been on my list for some time as I love everything Park Bo Young does, I had been putting this one off because of the context of death and Tak Dong Kyung living out the last 100 days of her life with Doom, being given the choice of making a final wish before her death or the death of her closest loved on in order to save hers. And I am not going to lie, this one was difficult for me to watch. Of course there is little things here and there with this drama, such as how Sa Ram treated Tak in the beginning with so much disgust (which reminded me of the relationship in A Korean Odyssey) and just small things were and there like how the writing was a bit confusing and the dialogue was SUPER quick that I think I missed a good chunk of what they wee talking about. But the main reason why this was was hard for me, was just the topic of death and it being a recent trigger of mine. You would have to be comfortable with the idea of death and dying in order to watch this without ugly crying because I did A LOT of that. Like every episode.
Other than that, I very much enjoyed the cinematography and the score - I think it is tied for first place with The Forest of the most beautiful dramas I have ever watched.
The ending was very obvious, but the journey getting there and seeing Sa Ram slowly gain his humanity and fall in love was extremely satisfying and always being there for Tak whenever she was going through something rough.. that is good writing. For example, I UGLY cried that whole scene when Tak went to the hair salon. But with the sad parts, there come the happy parts such as the love she receives from her aunt, brother, and best friend. Also, my favorite character, and I am sooooo happy that they included this in there, was her Canadian Uncle Kevin. I LIVED for his pep talks! Even with the language barrier, that didn't stop him from supporting Tak. Also, I loved how much her brother grew from the beginning while still being his dopey self.
Lastly, I oddly enjoyed the second leads and their romance; it also seemed like a completely different drama was happening. I loved it, but it honestly started to drag at the end, and I wanted to shake Ji Na. I totally get that this was a story about lose - Tak learning that she would lose her life and how she wanted to spend the remaining 100 days, and Ji Na learning how to move past her first love in order to live her life, but feeling like she is losing a part of herself that she's lived with since high school. Same, but different. Both emotional. But it got to a point where I am like Ji Na...we get it.

The most average fantasy kdrama
People are either too harsh on this drama or overhype it too much. It's well-produced with a great cast, and the writing is fine. It just feels...average. It follows a very typical fantasy kdrama plot, and falls into the common pitfalls of getting slow towards the middle and recycling tear-jerker tropes towards the end. It was enjoyable to watch, but after watching numerous fantasy dramas, I found there was nothing too special about it. I would recommend it for casual watching, but not to someone who wants a masterpiece. (It does get bonus points for giving a love triangle to the second leads instead of the main couple.)Was this review helpful to you?

A poetic and artful experience for the soul
At its core, Doom At Your Service is a human drama. Despite having fantasy elements, it's a mundane representation of the lives of some of us -- existing but never living, making mistakes and growing up even as adults, learning to be more responsible, becoming braver, encountering losses and pain, having to celebrate small wins and experiencing to let go, to be loved and love.Doom At Your Service, will be one of the special dramas for me; it's a show that started with things and life coming to an end; where everything disappears, but in the end, it shows the beauty of new beginnings. That we aren't meant just to exist, but to live happily and love for a very long time.
--
"If I were to be born again, I want to be born as a moon like that. You know, inanimate things like the sun, moon, stars, and wind. They just exist instead of living. I want to be one of those things in my next life."
I've truly resonated with the character of Tak Dong Kyung, not because our circumstances are the same, but with not truly living and just existing. We all have fronts like Dong Kyung, something that we want others to see—that we aren't broken—that we're okay and we are not lonely—but unfortunately, we are. I'm not exactly a person who lives as diligent as Dong Kyung, I'm very much a faulty person and there have been times when I'm not truly proud of myself and ashamed—and I still am. But this drama resonated with me so much because I watched it during this time when I am currently trying to move past some mental weakness in my life and the feeling of being overwhelmed about getting it together with life. I need to gather up the strength to make myself look okay to most people and show I'm as fine as possible.
I want to continue existing during those brief moments of weakness every day, and then have the courage to live as my time goes on—waiting that someday, I'll get it together and it'll make sense. I will always remember that moment when Dong Kyung said that she's still growing up, and I know that despite Doom living for quite a very long time— he's still growing up too. The way he just started at her, then smiled, possibly falling in love even more and knowing that he is no longer alone was a very delightful watch.
I think this is the reason why I've loved the drama so much. From Dong Kyung wanting to just exist until she dies to embracing life as her days are numbered and loving the precious people in her life—her brother, auntie, unnie, and especially—the found love of her life, Doom. To both Dong Kyung and Doom being confronted about the reality of her situation and acceptances of their fate. To Dong Kyung once more having to continue to exist again while trying to find courage every day to live for Doom's sacrifice and happiness. Longing and waiting, and finally reuniting with Doom to conquer life together and find strength every day with their now bigger family to make it to their next day until the very end.
How come when you're about to die you realize that you want to live so badly?

At its core, Doom At Your Service is a human drama. Despite having fantasy elements, it's a mundane representation of the lives of some of us -- existing but never living, making mistakes and growing up even as adults, learning to be more responsible, becoming braver, encountering losses and pain, having to celebrate small wins and experiencing to let go, to be loved and love.
More so, I think I loved the natural progression of Dong Kyung and Doom's love story. The circumstances where both of our beings fall in love and lose each other is a real event that will occur. It's truly a life-and-death situation albeit with some fantasy elements. And the moment they realized this together, they never hold off each other's hands.
The way their relationship naturally progresses from the start with push and pull caused by how their emotions react to the current circumstances happening to them is a delightful watch; there's also lot of subtleness from the show's story telling. From Doom refusing to be loved and not believing he's something worthy to be loved, from Dong Kyung's hate on her fate and Doom, to them truly falling in love with each other despite resistances and to acceptance on both of their fates that come with loving.

“So are you saying you’re winter, darkness, and the end of everything? Hey, I like winter, I like the darkness of the night, and I like it when things end. If you think about it, spring, morning, and new beginnings also come because of you. It means you’re responsible for both my misery and happiness.”
"The reason for everything that disappears...It would be sad to fall in love with something that disappears upon his touch. Sad enough to make him never love again."
Doom is such an interesting character; he was an angstful and lonely being—despite hating humans, he longed to be one of them. Being the reason for everything that disappears, he never thought of loving and being loved. So, Dong Kyung's human love for him is the start of him truly living instead of just existing. For so long, he thought of himself as the end, evil, unworthy to be loved, and simply can't be loved—only to be deemed as not a bad guy and loved greatly.
"If we never met, I would still be nothing. I want to mean something to you. Experiencing that once will be enough for me."
Because of this, all of their moments together and the sacrifice Doom made it more touching. To be loved once is enough, that being able to live even just for a short time with the person you love is enough—than existing for a long time, but not living at all. He hated his existence for most of his life, but finally, he was granted his happy ending and Dong Kyung too because they found each other—and because they never gave up, they continued to exist until they can live— they endured and waited for a long time.
--
"Even if it rains. Even if you're the only one without an umbrella, it's not a big deal. If you run, you'll reach home quickly."
I think I'll take these words of Doom for a long time...and enjoy life for a very long time.
But I do not just want to run, I want to enjoy the rain and look forward to the mornings. I want to be more grateful for life, and I want to love a lot.
Doom at your service is a drama of new beginnings, it starts with lots of doom and things that will end, but it ends with beginnings for every character in the story.
I know this drama will never be the most fan favorite and I think I know why. It's not a drama with a very solid plot, most of the time—its messages are very subtle, and it comes with a lot of push and pull of emotions. But for me, this drama is a comfort and nudge I needed to bravely face life. It didn't have extravagant fantastic elements or the most solid plot lines, but the humanity of their stories always shined through it. Let's start living life today and be happier for a little longer, and let's continue to do that, until we finally get to live.
