It's alright.

Major spoilers. Please, read another review. I'm venting.

The first 5-6 episodes are good, but after he gets back into the role of President-to-be, it feels like a completely different drama.

• Episodes 1-5:
The whole drama is predictable and fun. I like how she is a capable person all on her own. She's smart, hard-working and reliable. Then there's Xiao Ba who is a complete mess. These episodes were hilarious and adorable. Then he goes back to work.

• Episodes 6-8:
It has become a typical "rich man/poor woman" drama. With scheming family members and a "brother" who's in love with FL but won't say anything until it's too late.

It still good. I'm only watching for Anxin and Ling Yue's relationship, as well as the LY's doctor and his secretary/assistant (Ai Li). They're cute. Third brother (Ling Sheng, I think) really needs to up his game if he wants to get the woman he likes (Xin'er???).

And what has happened with First brother??????? Did we just gloss over the fact that he tried to kill Ling Yue?!?!? Like, that did happen. Are we not gonna talk about it? Or have him fired from the company??! Huh?

• Episodes 10-14:
Anxin and Ling Yue are a mess.
Ling Fang is an even bigger mess.

• Episodes 15-24:
Nice plot twist. It upset me 'cause I wanted that character to get a HEA. Ai Li and Xiao Yin Shang are cute. I skipped a lot of everyone else's scenes. A lot. Even Anxin and Ling Yue's scenes.

I could have skipped this drama and lived happier without knowing anything of it.

Predictable story

Unoriginal as I’ve watched dramas with same storyline.Attractive casts as usual for the typical idol drama and one positive thing from the drama is the male lead looks incredible in a suit;best Chinese actor I’ve seen in a suit that looks so good and fit his body proportions 100%.His acting was bland but he looked good in a suit and played the intelligent business tycoon well.

The female lead is always doing a good job.Lusi is a great actress and I just love her.Perfect for every role she plays and executes it beautifully.

Cliches Overload!

My impression on Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling after watching the whole drama is that it tries to do too much with a 24-episode series. As a result, the story is all over the place. Just consider this – sibling rivalry, adoption angle, amnesia, co-habitation, jealous love rivals, childhood link, minor breakup, rich man and poor girl are all part and parcel of this drama. It is fine for a romance drama to have cliches. Moonlight and Miss Crow With Mr. Lizard also has a co-habitation and jealous love rival storyline respectively. But there is no necessity to include every imaginable cliche to make it into a story. Moreover, there are also those accidental hugs and stares in Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling which you can already predict the moment a certain scene appears.

What is pitiful is that the drama actually starts off pretty good in the first episode notwithstanding the plot holes which are aplenty throughout the 24 episodes. But after that, everything is just too basic and draggy until the last few episodes when there is a sudden twist. It is basic because they try to do too much that events are introduced and then glossed over. There are no details provided as everything moves very fast especially on the business front. So, don’t expect to know how outcomes are achieved. Orders are given and they just happened. If you like this kind of simplicity, then it might work for you. But if you prefer more well-written stories, this should be avoided completely.

Plot Weaknesses
I’m not one who likes to look for plot holes whenever I watch a drama. But the plot weaknesses in Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling are just too obvious. Ling Yue has a phobia against a large amount of water as he was pushed into a pool by his brother when he was a kid. But somehow, he managed to get himself out of the sea when his car crashed into it at the beginning of the drama. Then, in a later episode, he fainted while at the beach because he was afraid of the water. The inconsistency is just too glaring. Apart from water, Ling Yue is also afraid of cockroaches, dogs, and height!

Furthermore, I just find the obsession that some of these characters have for another is just overdone because they are all related in some way. An Xin’s foster brother loves her but she loves Ling Yue. Her foster sister, Xin Er, also loves Ling Yue. If that is not enough, Ling Yue’s brother is obsessed over Xin Er as well in a merry-go-round sort of romantic entanglement!

While it may sound complicated, it is actually quite straightforward in the drama because their feelings are clearly laid out. But the coincidences are just too much. A brother loving his sister (it reminds me of Go Ahead), 2 sisters loving the same man, and a man loving one of the sisters who loves his brother basically sum up the romance part of the story. I don’t know but it just seems such a weird situation to me. There is really no necessity to elevate the entanglement to this level as time could be better spent on a more in-depth plot.

Little Chemistry Between The Leads
A top notch chemistry between the leads can actually save a romance drama from mediocrity even if it has nothing more than a thin plot. My Little Happiness is one such example. The right chemistry could also make a drama sweeter to charm viewers such as Forever Love and Perfect And Casual. But Rosy Zhao and Terry Liu just don’t have enough sparks between them to make it happen in Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling. The natural feel for the kind of deep love for each other is simply missing. Even her partnership with the much older Lin Yu Shen in Dating In The Kitchen has better chemistry and is more pleasurable to watch.

Perhaps Terry Liu’s inexperience is a drawback and it shows. His acting is still too stiff that he can’t really keep up with the more adept Rosy Zhao. After all, she has played this kind of roles before and portraying An Xin shouldn’t be difficult for her. I just wonder if another male lead could have saved this drama if the pairing has better chemistry overall.

My Verdict – Don’t Waste Your Time!
It is hard for me to recommend giving Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling a try given the poorly written storyline. Unless you are a Rosy Zhao fan, there is really little reason to watch this when there are plenty of other rom-coms and romance dramas out there. Perhaps the basic plot which doesn’t delve too much into the business aspect may resonate with those who prefer simplicity. But then again, even the ending for some of the characters doesn’t give you the required satisfaction as a viewer.

I suppose if you really want to give it a go, you can do so by skipping some boring parts. The middle of the drama is a little draggy and you can probably skip it to go straight to the last few episodes for the ending. This is really not a drama that will remain in your mind after it is over unlike Love Is Sweet or Begin Again whereby there are parts that are worth a rewatch. Of course, if you can feel the chemistry between the leads, it will be a different story. Then, this drama will be more watchable to you despite the weak plot.

Overall, for this Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling review, I would give it a score of 6/10. It is not my cup of tea mainly because of the plot which is not properly planned with too many unnecessary cliches. 24 episodes also isn’t really the type of drama that you would want to have too many things going on and 4 couples to share the screen time with. The end result is a bland production that fails to evoke viewers’ emotions towards any of the characters.

a great storyline and nice ending

a nice recommend . I absolutely enjoyed Liu te character as a wolf in sheep's clothing. the female lead just had to keep falling into all sorts of trouble on his behalf. esp when he bought only expensive products on her meagre earnings. I also like the villains character. enough to give you a sense of danger but not to creepy or scary. a lighthearted drama in general. the love triangles are awesome but not too messy to be untangled. everything took a natural course. if you're looking for a drama to cheer you up after a bad day, don't miss feel at ease, Mr ling.

Basic

i had high expectations for it because of the trailers and the first couple of episodes, but as the episodes carried on the story became more and more basic. however, it was still fun to watch and gives you shy smiles here and there.

compared to the other male lead lusi has worked with, i feel liu te (ling yue) and her have no chemistry. almost as if ling yue only seems to love or care about her when she’s not in his reach anymore.

one thing that bothered me just a tiny bit but i scolded myself for is the baby face ling yue has. even though it does go against the masculine domineering CEO just a bit, that’s something out of his reach and i don’t believe we should use it against him or the drama. he did a great job with what he had to work with and i think he should be proud of himself.

another thing was how basic and boring the story line was: male and female antagonist, reoccurring company problems, neutral struggles the couple face in their personal lives, ect.

not to mention how basic the female lead character was, basically just a y/n. she had the personality of a carrot: no parents, independent, nice, doesn’t stand up for herself, mega patience, and a sad mystery filled backstory. and even though this character was the basic of the basic, zhao lusi did such a good job.

overall, if you read all this, i’d advise to watch it while you’re watching another drama or two. it’s easy to forget but worthwhile when you watch it. momentary happiness you know? yeah :)

typical romance - long version

The cast is good, the story starts promising, but it soon becomes boring, cheesy and unnecessarily complicate. All youngsters are adopted or have step-siblings, coincidences are never-ending etc. I was a bit disappointed to discover that Cinderella is not a real Cinderella, just a rebellious girl connected to not one - but TWO rich families. Like, the alternative to being rich is just being richer! I guess they lost me at that point...
Dropping it despite enjoying the sweet moments in the beginning.

quite monoton

i know it might be a bad comment among a bunch of good ones. well frankly, it's not bad but not good either. i initially hooked up onto this drama. in order to watch it, i used many apps such as youtube (yoyo english channel), viki, telegram. unfortunately yoyo and viki have made it restricted to my country hence i ended up watching it on facebook instead. i really curious about how the storyline would be, since both main leads did their roles very well in the beginning. however it turns out to be a plain plot story right after eps 16 and keeps going on like that. they have some misunderstandings yet they could overcome them all (it ain't bothering me) in the last few episodes, they just have less romantic scenes, not as i expected.

Male Main Actor acting sucks

Watch it because of Rosy Zhao, but the Main male actor acting is so bad until i cant further continue. Drop in EP12. All male actor sucks basically. Very basic story line. will not watch another episode of the drama act by the same group of male actor. really waste of time. Moonlight is so so much better in term of roles, story, acting, OST and production. However, even if Zhao Lusi's sweetness exceeds the standard, it is really difficult for one person to take on the big responsibility. At present, the four episodes of "I accidentally picked up love" are first broadcast and updated, and word-of-mouth is also visible to the naked eye. Whether it is the plot or the personality, it is a success. The focus of the audience's complaints. As we all know, as an idol drama, the most taboo is the old-fashioned plot. Unfortunately, "I accidentally picked up love" has stepped on almost all the minefields of the idol drama. In the first episode alone, the show includes car accident amnesia, half-brothers, contract, cohabitation, overbearing president’s life, poor girl has a dream, and so on. It can be said that this is a vivid interpretation to the audience that there is no thunder, only thunder! In terms of human settings, the play also has frequent bugs. In order to create a male lead and a female lead, the director will not hesitate to force the two to reduce their intelligence. For example, the female lead Zhao Lusi, after hitting someone and learning that the other party has amnesia, he decided immediately If you conceal it and not report it, you will be fine if you are thinking about curing the other party. The most outrageous thing is that Zhao Lusi, as a single woman in the play, dared to take a strange man home alone to live together! Is she not 13 points for her own beauty? Poor special effects. It is said that there are not many special effects used in this modern love drama. With a few special effects, you can't use a little thought and money to do it seriously? But in the first episode, the male protagonist’s car broke through the protection and fell into the water. It's really outrageous, you can look at the animated picture. Of course, there is the most outrageous place, the contradiction in the plot. Such a serious accident, the male protagonist can swim up from the water to save himself, and he has basically not suffered any injuries, this is also the case. It makes people sigh his ability to survive. But in the plot behind it, even the leaking faucet caused the house to be flooded. Because of the experience of falling into the water when he was a child, he only dared to sit on the sofa and tremble in a hug, which is even more puzzling. In the car falling into the water in front, how did he overcome his psychological obstacles to save himself? The path of service is too exquisite and does not conform to the reality of the characters. This is almost a common problem in idol dramas. No matter what occupation the protagonist is, he must dress beautifully; Regardless of the protagonist’s workplace, it must be clean and tidy. In the play, Zhao Lusi, the main business is the employees of the express delivery station, and the side job is the painter in the hard work. At the express delivery site, all packages are large and small boxes. Everywhere is clean and tidy, even the staff’s clothes are matte waistcoats and white overalls. Watching the courier spots and staff in the play, and then looking at the ones downstairs in my house, it is probably a dream and reality Make a difference. To be reasonable, the female main dress is as good as possible, which is understandable

Repetitive Boring Plot

I am really getting tired of romantic fluff and this one is no exception. I really wanted to like this show and it started out very cute and light hearted, but the writing and the acting is so poor that I can't give it a pass. It is full of cliche plots that have been done elsewhere, and rife with brand pushing. How many times can the actors drink Rio without puking out their insides? Their refrigerators are completely stocked with Rio beverages, and NOTHING else. Is it any wonder they have to eat out?

There doesn't seem to be any normal women in this show and, I am sad to say, they aren't depicted in a favorable light here. The women are either gullible, starry eyed, Mary-Sue types who are constantly being told they need to be protected, or are crazy, lunatics. When the guys aren't telling them what to do, the ladies are chasing down men or beating them up. If a woman is actually tough, she is depicted as having no feelings. Of course, the men don't fare any better. They are either plotting behind each others' backs, or throwing around their toxic masculinity. I just wanted for our FL to have at least one person who wanted what was best for her with no ulterior motive. Sadly, everyone wanted to run her life for her. It's disheartening.

I only watched this because I was fresh off The Long Ballad and was delighted there was another show with Lusi Zhao. She is a fine actress and so adorable. Unfortunately, this romance is so poorly written that I felt her talent was wasted. In fact, the plot is so sloppy that actors disappear, make choices that don't really fit their personality, and loose ends are not tied up. There is no wrap up of important plot details and, once again, the villains are given an arc of redemption instead of the well-deserved punishment for their depraved behavior. Plot is implausible, as is the norm in these types of fluffy romances and the acting is cringeworthy. I would rate this better than Meteor Garden but not by much.

Guess someone could like it.

I am physically uncapable of finishing this drama, i guess it's good, but not good enough. I usually like stories centered around the relationship between the leads, and this is that for pretty much the first half, however it gets kind of repetitive as the story progresses and it gets into more -family matters- (some siblings against the main leads in one way or another). Also... WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS WRONG WITH HER BROTHER?????????????? and the fact that we have to accept him as like the second love interest :(( so creepy, get away from her immediately, if you needed a reason not to watch it there you go. I don't usually expect much from chinese dramas because they tend to lack on storyline and also in mantaining that storyline, I feel that most of the times (including this one) you start watching a drama and end up watching a very different one, I didn't get to finish this one cause it's imposible, but I feel that it fits with the rest of the dramas with this samekind of narrative. In conclusion, you'll probably like it if you don't mind or even like the things that I mentioned before, it's a pretty fun show more on the "adult" side and the main couple are very cute.

chemistry between cast is great

Entire lead cast is good looking in looks. You don't get bored of looking at their faces. And their acting is pretty good too.
Although there are antagonist in plot but they are not bad to the extent you feel overwhelmed by the darkness in story. Its pretty light hearted. Although there is political rivalry and there are more of nice dialogues between hero heroin. Although you feel like its so obvious, how can she believe such lies, you still wanna watch it as it is light hearted and has a warm feeling to it.

TERRY LIU ISN'T ON THE LUSI'S BEST MEN LIST

I felt like this drama is for 16 years old girl fan base...all too idealistic; handsome, rich, smart man came around accidentally who shower her with brand-name gifts and declaration of love...who makes some love sacrifices just to be together with the love of his life, who would easily say 'sorry' and promise to change his behavior (Spoil alert: For young Ladies, in real life it never happen that way) it's too perfect to be true but l would watch Zhao LuSi drama no matter how it is. I saw the commercial preview and seems interesting and funny, as the episodes progress the love is blooming and sweet but the story isn't catching. The story all over the place, one day they're on self discovery and the next live together and joining company. At the beginning Xiao Ba/Ling Yue (Terry Liu) lived in Gu AnXin (Zhao LuSi) apartment because she accidentally hit him on rainy winding road night, extorting AnXin to save himself from potential murder and buying time to investigate it, Xiao Ba/Ling Yue pretended to have amnesia.

Then moved up to AnXin has 5% stock in Ling's company, then everyone reveal - her adoptive brother has loved her since young, sister that has loved Ling Yue since school, bought apartment, co-owner of a company, someone sending threats, Ling Yue's jealousy, bla..bla..bla...the producing team wanted to cover the world problems into this drama. AnXin easy to misunderstood Ling Yue but quickly make up - like her upset didn't last and got resolve within half episode. There's scene when AnXin received a sexy lingerie or they make out at the office....all unfit because 2 MLs are so cute and innocent face, being naughty sexy isn't in their nature so it's kind out of place. I don't think I am fond of this drama and pretty sure, Terry Liu isn't going to be named as the best Zhao LuSi CP as 3 other previous co-stars; Zhang Ye Cheng, Ryan Ding Yu Xi, and Liu Yu Ning. Hmm....waiting for Yang Yang to come on the list.
