As I said, the cast was excellent. I couldn't catch a fail on their acting... It was all credible and well-done.
As for the characters... Won was really funny at the beginning and I think the drama could have been better if they added more of it at the middle of the drama. Da In was that kind of non-salt character, I didn't really like her. It was nice when she played the hate-love relationship with him but after that it was bad, she was too much of a strict/noble woman.. they had no chemistry at all, unfortunately.
However, the second main couple compensated it a lot. You can't help but fall for them.. and if you do, you'll suffer a lot. The drama scriptwriter was playing with us, I found myself holding my fists just with the thought that one of them could die. ~~~
The romance between Baek and Kkeok was also nice but very subtle for my taste.
The king and the princes were also amazing... if I was a commoner then I'd want to have fair kings like those.
The only thing that I disliked was the plot. I found it very repetitive. What on the beginning started to interest us made the drama a bit boring on the middle. The matter took a long time to be settle... I feel that the drama could have been shorter instead of wavering around the same thing over and over again.
However, this is a drama that I suggest. I started watching it yesterday and finished today because it was really good :) And it's different from others as well ^^

Song Ji Hyo (Da In) pale in comparison! I think everyone who watched cared more about their relationship and that's simply because of chemistry. Sung Woong as Do Moon simply stood out to me throughout the drama as Da In's father's henchman. You wanted to hate him but simply couldn't help but love him and his beautiful (and real) mane of glory! I will remember his name for now on.
Overall, if you like the genre, it really is an easy drama to watch. Sure, the usual machinations of the royals and nobles but get past that, there are so many funny and fun moments to see and characters to fall in love with!!

This review may contain spoilers
First, I like this drama because the "good guys" aren't stupid. It is refreshing and I love the fact that the "good guys" aren't just fumbling around trying to figure out what is going on and what to do about it. I can't go into detail because there would be too many spoilers, but that is my favorite thing about the writing of this drama. There are a few times that I thought they should have just killed the "bad guys" when they had the chance, but then I guess there would not have been a drama. The story flows well with suspense, fighting, assassination attempts, etc. Lee Dong Wook and Song Ji Hyo as Choi Won and Da In acted well in their rolls. They are just good actors regardless of story line. However, the romance between them wasn't that great. It seemed more like they cared for each other as good friends rather than lovers. There really wasn't that much of a triangle and it really bothered me how they ended it for Yoon Jin Yi's character, So Baek. She was so optimistic, a good fighter, and a little naive. I adored her character. I do think she was better suited to be with Kwon Hyun Sang's character, Kkeok Jeong though. Going back to Da In's romance, there was more chemistry between her and Sung Woong's character, Do Moon. The romantic story between Song Jong Ho's character, Red Demon and Kang Byul as Choi Won's sister was better than the main character's romance. They were totally great together. Im Seul Ong played the Crown Prince really well. I didn't know he could act. The other supporting cast including the bandits and the bad guys were also good.
The kids Kim Yoo Bin as Rang and whoever played the other prince were perfect. Yoo Bin is just too cute for words.
The music is fine.
I won't rewatch this.
If you like historical, romantic, action dramas, then I think this is one to try.

The main antagonist was ice cold creepy and was as evil as evil can be. The child actors were commendable. The girl who played Rang was consistent all-throughout. Lee Dong Wook's character changed through the middle. I liked how he was at first and hoped to see more of that.
There were a lot of love lines. There was this one love line between the two protagonists; however, I felt more chemistry between the Crown Prince and Da In. I was hoping for that to develop more - it actually felt that it would develop some more, but it was suddenly pulled out (?). I really felt like the Won did not need another reason to clear his name. Just having his daughter was enough. Though it was really weird how at first he would always mention Rang and his sister, which changed in the latter part. He should have stuck on with this.

The acting skills of characters are commendable particularly the little girl. She is such a talented girl who can portray her emotions without effort.
Besides Lee Dong Wok, the best thing about this drama, is you cannot figure out what means they would do to make the drama flow consistently.
I am looking forward to Red Demon and the Aunt ending up together as the drama progresses. Although, they are secondary characters, their roles are strong, giving substance to the drama.
You will not regret watching this drama. I highly recommend it. Check it out.

RUN!
The kid was pulling this drama together from the very beginning. While the chase was interesting to follow at first but soon enough it became tiring and boring and a change of scenery was due at that point which took longer than expected to get to. The drama had some nice side characters which didn't become overbearing, namely So Baek and her father which provided a little distraction from the long wait for the story to move. There were a lot of elements I didn't like in this drama but I probably will remember this drama for the kid. However, there was one particular major issue the drama suffered from and that is the godly impervious plot armor eliminating any sense of danger or stakes driving the drama in an extremely predictable bland route. Was this review helpful to you?
Good but needed to be shorter
Pretty much The Fugitive but in the Josen Era. If it was 10 episodes instead of 20, this would have been a pretty solid show, especially with such a great cast (and by that I so mean more than just Lee Don Wook, even though you know he's my favorite), but it was too long and drawn out. Even so, it was fun to watch (when I wasn't wanting to scream at the repetitive plot or cringing at all the talk about poop). Was this review helpful to you?
The actors are really good the music is nice and goes well with the story !
If only the drama could have been longer then we could know more about some of the story's character !
I really enjoyed watching this drama !
