SPOILERS AHEAD

Welcome to my rant about how this is a hidden jewel... So let's start:
I have never loved a villain more than X. I wish we knew more about his story, why was he like that, who is the girl who hurt him, etc? Surely he was supposed to be bad but I can't help to make excuses for him. He was so intriguing and especially on the last episode I got goosebumps when he yelled at Ga Ram.
The acting was amazing given it was a miniseries and sometimes the acting is not a strong point. You could feel the emotions from the actors and I was sooooo ready to shread some tears but held back. The raw emotions of love was overwhelming but at the same time I couldn't understand how their life didn't matter if the other one lived. I have been in love but never at this scale. How can someone be happy knowing that another person sacrificed their life for them to live, that's a huge burden to bear.
Definitely will binge watch it again ☺️

Boring, and it was only 10 episodes!

The first couple of episodes were them fighting. I wasn't feeling that they were a good couple to begin with, so when she was trying to make a deal to save him, it just didn't make any sense to me. Why were they together? I didn't believe that they were in love, due to the circular storyline (break up, make up, repeat), the lack of chemistry and the fact that they were "broken up" more than they were together. I felt that the writers were trying to create a thought-provoking drama, and granted, the potential was there, but if you can't see the love between the couple, the rest of it just doesn't make sense.

run around in cirlces

the show starts with the 2 mains fighting and breaking up, and they get into a fatal accident and the FL makes a deal to save her lovers life by breaking up with him, and as soon as she's back she doesn't want to break up anymore so the whole show goes around in circles with "let's breakup, I can't breakup" ;/

honestly their romance was boring and so was their plot and in the end the ML makes a deal to save the FL and ends up in a comma alone then he wakes up, so like what was the point even ;/

Classic good old story, hitting all note right.

A heartfelt story that showcase what happens when you take things for granted.

The story is same old and thats why it hit you even more. The show really kept me on edge, both actors did fantastic job. I know HW from Witch's Love, and he did very well, however this is first time I am watching something from KUR, as her drama Defendant is still pending in my list. And she was brilliant. I really liked YJO, his role as X, was very intriguing from the start, I knew he had a back story, thats why he is playing evil, hiding good self behind it. He did his job with beauty.

I don't know what happened, did they originally intended to release as film or what. But I don't think so since the the run hour is approx. 5 hours, it can't be film. Anyway it came out as series, and came at once. I am glad this short series, was well made, and it strike where it intended to.

A love between two people fades away when they took each other for granted. Their fate was then intervened by someone who hold grudge against humans for being too weak and greedy when it comes to forgetting love and moving on. Entangled tale of fates of those two people and that very "someone" motive to punish those who take love for granted, comes to learn the true meaning of love.

All episodes are meaningful, and leaves you a bit teary. I can't nitpick much, as it is very plain and simple story, with some heavy elements emphasising not to take things for granted regardless of time.

A must must for all. This series is for everyone.

Even when it's happy...it's not.

THE NICE: (1)our actors were good. Kwon Yuri did fine, although the writers made her a rather stiff and moody character.
As for Hyun Woo....he's too sweet not to like.
(2)Lliked the music they kept playing, which under scored the core issue around the couple's pain.
THE BIG CHALLENGE FOR ME?
(1)There just wasn't enough happiness in their relationship shown before the accident for me to believe they ever cared enough about each other for her to go to the lengths she did to save him. We only saw that in flashbacks, yet even then there was a pall over the whole story...a glumness that even the ending couldn't brighten.
(2) Not a satisfying ending to know that our villain operated right under the nose of his colleagues. An important job like his demanded that clients be treated with respect .Whoever was 'in charge' would have had brakes and balances to make sure their agents couln't go rogue like he did. Worse still, this bad guy got away with it in the end. Even though many saw him as a bleak misunderstand (and sexy) guy, I found his past story wasn't enough to forgive his ruthless hounding of her throughout. this short drama.
FINAL NOTE: Lots of old tropes like an accident and plenty of noble sacrificing, which I like if they're done well. Not anything hard to watch but also not really anything uplifting if you're looking for romance.

Both main lead acting so great this is beyond my expected because this is just mini drama, especially female lead : Kwon Yuri.

Her acting really briliant in here, she can delivered a lot emotion . Park Ga Ram's role is really complicated and quite dark tbh and yet so relatable. Like insecurity, almost give up on life, family trouble, sometimes can be selfish but the other side she's value his life than herself bcs she loved him so much althought she's the one who demand a breakup lol.

Hyunwoo potrayed Seungjae really well too. From him we can learn how important comunication to our partner. He's really make her misunderstand a lot because he keep anything bad so she can't get hurt and end up he hurt her so many times.

KYR and Hyunwoo visual really pleased my eyes too because their visual complemented to each other. Yuri with her mature beauty and Hyunwoo with his baby face. Director from this mini series have a good eyes for pick them

Grim reaper act so jerk and i don't understand why he's act like that ( i mean i know it's probably bcs his past life) but it's still not make sense for me, he played SJ and GR life like that and trying to proving GR just same like him.

Anyway it's really high quality mini series with great acting from actor and actreess. I recomended this mini series .

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'BreakUp Probation A Week' does a great job considering this is a short drama. The story was revealed slowly, with the flashbacks giving small bites of what was the relationship like, a relationship that changes status and atmosphere in every episode. Needless to say that this drama is full of drama. The couple is sweet, though the girl turned a bit annoying in the final episodes. Still, they had chemistry and some romantic moments, enough to present a beautiful love story.

However, even though the performances were to the point and the drama had an interesting story, though not that original, the story left out plenty, like, who was that mysterious X and what was his story, who were the mysterious men in general, what was that afterlife threshold...?

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

Short but on point!

As a fan of Girls’ Generation, I got so excited when I found out that Yuri’s having this drama series. It has been a while since she had a drama series so this really cheered me up.

I didn’t know that this will only air with 10 episodes. What made me feel sad about this is that per episode lasts for around 26-30 minutes only and not the usual 1 hour or more. Still thankful though to have seen this.

The story is probably something you’ve seen already in a Korean Series (though I can’t think of one) or an English movie. Still, the twists and turns are good to watch. Technically, I like the production design, sound design especially on the parts where it shows a suspenseful act. I also like the cinematography and editing.

Yuri’s acting was so good! I loved how Yuri showed those subtle emotions. It was delivered with justice since her character Ga Ram is trying to endure the hurtful things that had happened to her (mostly the scenes with her mom). I find Hyun Woo to look too young physically though. So, I am not sure if the on-screen chemistry was delivered rightfully. If Yuri was partnered maybe with someone who has more mature physical features, I think that’ll suit best and vice versa. I’m surprised with Park Won-Sang’s appearance. I like his character!

10 episodes for me is not good enough. I guess if the story went on for more twists and other stories to offer then probably this drama series can take a spot on a top list.

Still good to watch! ? Happy binging!
By the way, I suggest the VIU App if you plan on watching this.

// #BreakupProbationAWeek (이별유예일주일) Review:

/- Actual Rating: 8.5/10
/- Plot-wise, I like how it started in the middle of it where it tackled the misses of their relationship; taking into account the backstories of how the present came to be was shown; cherishing moments passed by with all of your time without regrets and filled with hope to live fully. Well, except, I wished the writers should've taken a glance on how the antagonist was driven to his own pathway in seeking his own clarity. I guess, that's just a "love skill issue" or just an unfortunate fate for him.
/- The emotion they put into this drama was quite fascinating. It was delivered the way I would expect it with such occurring passion.
/- This kind of drama proved me that you don't need 16/32-episode format to satisfy the experience of it all.
/- I never knew that the lead actress was Kwon Yuri. She looked so different here. Might just be me.
/- Any SNSD member can ACT.

i dont know where i set my expectations were, but this drama exceeded it so much

Needless to say this is a really good drama. Frustrating at times, but it's really good. Because I'm currently watching Tomorrow where Yun Jion is also in, I tried to put this off for a while and watch it after Tomorrow finishes airing. But I couldn't because I was too curious after accidentally finding out that his role is a villain here. Jion's acting that I've seen were really good, but all of his roles seem to radiate the sweet, innocent, and nice image (ryunggu too, but he's different from the other characters). I was scared that watching this would ruin my experience with Ryunggu (it didn't cause i can separate the art from the person too well apparently) BUT... All of Jion's filmography that I've seen also didn't ruin my experience with his role here, X. I was really shocked. Of course. He was too different from the other characters. I felt many things watching him here. He was scary, terrifying, and confusing. In a good way. It gave me goosebumps every time he comes into the frame. It gave me goosebumps hearing the tone of his voice so similar to his role as Ryunggu, but at the same time so different because it's mixed with malice. Nearing the end he confuses me. Was he good? Was he bad? What happened? How did he become like this? Was he never this kind of person before? And even until the end, Jion really pulled off X's role too well. I can't imagine if this role was given to anyone else. X is Jion. The role fits perfectly on him.

Other than that biased (Or not) talk about Jion's role as X, I think the duration, the amount of episodes this has is perfect. It doesn't feel too long and dragged, but it's not so fast that it felt rushed. Just the perfect time. I also really have to say the two main leads also did really well. It's my first time seeing Kwon Yuri as an actor and i think she did very well! For Hyunwoo, I first saw him at law school (drama) and I remember liking him a lot in that drama, so seeing him here was nice, and its really cool to see him in a different genre, he did really well too!! Their relationship that was really sweet, but somehow got tangled because of their views and feelings as individuals. Eventually the two find out each other's perspectives and become better people and strengthen their bond. It was really nice to see.

Hyun Woo

Frankly the only reason I watched this drama was Hyun Woo.

My first thought was that his character is so sweet, again. However, when his relationship was going through rough times I wasn’t too pleased with his fiancée or his ex gf.

Hyun Woo never disappoints me with his acting. I love it when he smiles. I think he should smile more often.

My favorite drama of Hyun Woo’s is still “The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop.

I’m glad I watched. The ending was so sweet.

Is Better Then You Think

A very tense drama that make you think. After each episode I was left wondering about the story and my own experience. At first you start wondering about this couple but as it goes on you start seeing both sides. The devil as I call the spirit who is commending the female lead character is just hateful just because of his experience but those not really understand this couple. The one thing about this couple is no communication which let up to so many misunderstanding. The twist and turn on this short drama are very good and little by little it start unfolding until the surprise ending. I really enjoy the story and great performance by the actors.
