Women’s strength is not about beauty, but her confident.
I don’t know why not many people give their review to this movie, and it’s kinda shocking me that I never heard about this movie until I find out the movie in youtube randomly.. after I check on Emma Wu’s drama list. Emma Wu is my childhood’s star.. and it’s totally amazing to see her still remain the same.. very beautiful and cute.Trust me.. this movie will give you a very simple and common plot about first love that separated because of misunderstanding... but slowly but sure you will find out this movie has its own beauty in expressing the main character’s struggle in life. It has beautiful animation effect too.. and totally make you feel to see a fairytale.
Love and working life are both important elements here.. you can relate the situation with your daily life. It’s very realistic.
Back to the story. Because of a dark past.. Xiao Xue lost her self, feeling empty and not being loved, being left behind by her mother and her childhood friend.
One day.. her first love from the past is coming back again to her life and make her realize to change herself to be loved and confident especially to show her amazing artistic skill that she had since childhood.
However... not that long after her successful love and carreer, again she lost everything again because of her cowardness in facing her fear about her mother and her dark past...
In desperation, Xiao xue finally realize that it’s not about changing herself, but finding her old self.
What makes the story become interesting is.. the audience will slowly find out other character’s perspective and true feeling from the middle of the movie. The story will bring you into tears and smile... and there is a very deep meaning about family here as well.
By watching this movie.. you will learn that love will follow you when you already find your self. Being your self and being brave to chasing your dream is the key for happiness.
I hope there will be a drama version of this movie.. I’m rooting for more romance between Emma Wu and Daniel Zhu ;)

Lighthearted with deep meaning
The storyline is pretty simple. It revolves around Wu Xiao Xue, an art enthusiast since she was a kid, and how she slowly regains herself after an unfortunate event that took place during her childhood. I would say this is like a Disney Rom-Com. It is cute, and has a clear message. I thought it was good in terms of getting the story and message out there. Another plus is the cute interactions between Wu Xiao Xue and her elf friend. Only thing is it was too short to try and condense everything together. I could see this story put into a 16 episode drama rather than a movie. Wu Ying Jie also improved much on her acting. I hope she gets more acting projects this year. Was this review helpful to you?

Cute and simple movie of self-actualization
I came across this randomly on youtube and i decided to watch. This movie is very simple and very basic with certain unrealistic elements but still a satisfying watch. The plot is nothing new but it is different in the direction it took. It's your typical mousy office girl meets her highschool crush at work and tries to win him over with a makeover but instead of the romance being center stage it's more of a catalyst to her journey of self discovery.
The Female lead executed her role flawlessly. She allowed her mother to dictate and direct her life and suppressed her creative talent because of the bad memories her mother associates with art. I felt sorry for her and was frustrated by her docility in equal measure.
I loved the existence of shiny, her confident, assertive and outgoing alter ego who manifests as an imaginary friend until she comes to the realization that they are one and the same.
The male lead was kind and sweet. He saw her shortcomings and didn't actively force her to correct them but subtly suggested how she could correct them and in all cases it had to be her decision. I really liked that.
I don't consider this a romance, more a coming of age movie. The romance fell short. The ending existed only to give the movie a romantic ending. There was no lead up to it or anything. That was annoying but not enough to spoil the sweetness of the movie.
It was an easy watch, quite enjoyable but i won't rewatch it in a hurry.
