What is a woman?
Japanese musical series about a teenager girl who just celebrated her 16th birthday and FM 999, a music radio station that answers her worries about women by selecting and delivering excellent songs each time she asks herself “What is a woman?”. Messages about love, beauty, work and pregnancy are told through 3 songs per episode, each one focused in a different theme in response to Kiyomi's concerns. Every song has a different female singer, set decoration and message, some are more clear than others, but in the end all of them are very unique. While these moments happen in Kiyomi’s head, there’s a short story that follows her daily life in which she meets a boy that eventually changes her life.Makoto writes the full series and directs the first episode which defines the tone and aesthetics for the rest of the series. This is another work in which he explores feelings of youth and no one else is doing it better than him, I was rooting so much for the main character. Music is a big part of this series and the director’s past experience in music videos shows so. Btw, one of the singers is our lovely Kiko Mizuhara (Ride or Die <3).
