WTF was that ending?

I feel bamboozled, I paid for the Iqiyi subscription to watch this show and I feel like they played with me.

I feel like the story was building to something it never reached. During the story the Viewer is taken on a journey with the male lead who is trying to design a robot and the female lead is a streamer working towards a big competition. The issue is we never see them reach their goals. This show could've had 32 episodes so that the viewer could've seen the leads achieve their goals. Instead, they decided to abruptly end at episode 24 without any real conclusion. Yeah the leads are together but the story is unfinished, did the FL make it to the competition? Does the male lead ever reach his goal with the robot? All I can take from this drama is the leads were cute and had a healthy relationship there is no angst or drama just a cute story. Don't look for this story to have a resolution or complete ending because it doesn't, it's so weird.

Fun, entertaining show. Perfect drama to watch before bed

This is a story of love and growth between a person with a secret identity and a prosopagnosia. From this theme alone, we find it difficult to imagine and are curious about how they got to know and be close to each other.

-Plot
Two people with different social backgrounds, education and personalities met by accident. The female lead, Hao Liang, falls in love at first sight with Gu Jiu Li, the founder of a robot company. And with some consideration, Hao Liang decided to apply for an internship at his company. Apparently, Gu Jiu Li didn't recognize her. From here, their story begins.

-Strength
The plot is coherent, not long-winded, logical and makes sense. The storyline can balance work, career, personal problems and romance until the end. Even though it has a strong romance story, it also manages to show the growth of the characters very well. The drama is entertaining, light but full of positive messages. Zhang Yunlong is able to perfoms hilarious comic reliefs with a serious and innocent face.

-Weakness
Most of us are not used to sudden endings. But all the characters have good endings. Lip sync is done roughly so that the lip movements are not in sync with the song.

*Chemistry
The chemistry of leads is the strength of this drama. We can feel their love. It's like we fell in love for the first time, too. It's fascinating Gu Jiu Li can understand what is in Hao Liang mind just by looking into her mimic or facial expression. Their love is so adorable and gives us butterflies.

*Acting
Now this is what I call an A class acting. Something we will get from Song Yiren and Zhang Yunlong, professionals with educational backgrounds in acting. Song Yiren and Zhang Yunlong managed to play their roles well. A combination I never imagined but it works. Song Yiren played two different personalities very convincingly and she managed to unite the two personalities well at the end.

*Conclusion
This is a lighthearted show, you don't need to think hard, it's stress-free and entertaining. This drama is engaging and makes us smile and laugh. Even though this is not the greatest drama, the important thing is that we feel entertained and happy while watching it. Apart from that, this drama conveys many positive messages, being yourself and being brave, never giving up to pursue your dreams. I love the main couple, they set a good example. Their relationship is healthy, both support and help each other.
Ignore the rate, try to watch it yourself.

Cute easy to watch drama

This is a cute drama with two of my favorites in the lead roles. Song Yiren playing a dual role is an eye opener. Sweet to siren and back and I’m in favor of both. ML, Leon Zhang plays awkward as well as he plays serious doctor or police officer. The plot is one we have seen before, but all of the characters are good and not taking the drama too seriously. The music is good and interesting when played with the story line. The romance moves along with the normal hitches here and there, but one can see where it will end up. Zhang was in another modern romance I recently watched, and while it was very good, it did not have the easy watching vibe this one does. If you need to watch something to feel good, without taxing the brain, this is one to watch or rewatch.

“My Special Girl Unveils a Unique Romance Between an AI Engineer and a Secretive Singer"

“My Special Girl" embarks on a promising start with a unique premise that intertwines the burgeoning world of AI with the complexities of human relationships. The drama introduces us to Gu Jiu Li, the brilliant AI engineer and founder of Jiuqian Technology Company. His dedication to creating companion robots reflects a more profound yearning for connection, possibly stemming from his childhood adversities. The narrative gains an emotional layer with the introduction of Hao Jing, a preschool education senior with a secret passion for singing. Her character provides a refreshing contrast to Gu Jiu Li's tech-driven environment. The clandestine nature of her double life as a night-time live broadcast singer adds an intriguing subplot that keeps viewers invested in her journey. Initially, the drama thrives on these compelling character arcs and the potential for romance between Gu Jiu Li and Hao Jing. Hao Jing's immediate infatuation and Gu Jiu Li's 'facial blindness' create an engaging dynamic that promises humour and heartache. However, as the story unfolds, the pace begins to wane, and what was once a riveting character-driven plot starts to meander into a slower, more monotonous middle segment.
The show's initial charm loses some of its lustre as the writers struggle to maintain the momentum, and viewers might find themselves checking their watches as they wait for the next significant plot twist. Despite the sagging middle, the drama does attempt to rally towards its conclusion, yet it falls short of delivering the satisfying payoff that fans might expect. Unfortunately, while aiming to tie up loose ends, the ending leaves many viewers underwhelmed. In the quest to resolve the storylines, the finale doesn't quite resonate with the emotional depth that the characters deserve. Nonetheless, "My Special Girl" is not without its merits. The performances are commendable, with the lead actors bringing a palpable chemistry that transcends some of the storyline's shortcomings. The exploration of AI and its impact on human emotions is thought-provoking, and the drama does an excellent job of highlighting the importance of companionship and understanding in a world that can often feel isolating. In conclusion, while "My Special Girl" may not be without its flaws, particularly in pacing and a somewhat lacklustre ending, it still offers enough narrative innovation and character charm to make it a worthwhile watch. For those intrigued by the intersection of technology and romance and viewers who enjoy character-driven stories, this drama provides an engaging viewing experience.

Torn Between Two Sides

This story has layers of push and pull within oneself as well as experiences and influences around others. The connection between the leads was tender and endearing. The business side of the series seemed well thought out yet disjointed at times and had a vague resolve. There were many parts that did drag and felt like fillers which made the ending seem lackluster and unfinished. Nevertheless, the series seems to gain more fullness and traction within the last 5-7 episodes. The ML was good in showing growth in his emotional intelligence as well as communication. The FL seemed to finally grasp the same growth within the ending episodes. This is a sweet series with no trauma points or dramatic evil dynamics which is nice. Just an easy ride to a hopeful end.

Special, indeed.

My Special Girl is the journey of a timid girl with the alter ego of a siren streamer to love herself, find love and gain acceptance from her conservative mother.

I was hooked to know how her crush and her mom would react about her other identity, and her performance at the ceremony (not shown). It was hilarious after her crush (now boyfriend) found out about her identity. I was all the more happy since they didn't end in a forced marriage scene (the scene in the intro song was a dream) and the age gap doesn't come off as weird.

The FL's friend comes off as sometimes annoying but later becomes comical. The second couple was boring. Usually, I skip work scenes but was invested in knowing what happens to their project. The love scenes were not overbearing and I liked that they wanted to improve each other so that they could become better.

I'm not a fan of Ireine Song's acting (watched Evernight) but it was refreshing to see her in alter ego, Dai. She should do more glam roles. Leon comes off a bit stiff and awkward and his youth scenes were not convincing.

Despite being about a singer, the songs weren't memorable except for one which ML sings in the restroom.

My special girl is special but not the best. Watch it for its comedy and heartwarming story.

Drama about a girl who was trying to achieve her dream but concealed it from other so when she had fallen in love so she played two identity because she didn't want to reveal her concealed dreams to other even she hided it from her love . As drama proceeded first things get complicated because of her hidden secrets but gradually things get straightened out . When every thing revealed story get over . I didn't like its ending part I think the main characters' story should completed in a proper way.

My Special Girl is a nice drama of the growth, perseverance, and self-discovery of the female lead Hao Liang / A Dai Jie (played by Ireine Song) and the male lead Gu Jiu Li (played by Leon Zhang). The leading couple started their interactions as boss and a student that gets an internship in his company because she fell in love with Gu Jiu Li at first sight. As they star to work and spend time together, Gu Jiu Li finds himself more and more attracted to Hao Liang. Although Gu Jiu Li takes his time to recognize that he has fallen for Hao Liang, he is always concern about her and is ready to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice; Hao Liang equally reciprocates with help and concern as their feelings developed into a beautiful committed and unwavering love. The leading couple has good chemistry and there are some really funny moments as they navigate their relationship. The drama has a happy ending but it is insipid. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining, enjoy it!

Not Unique but Entertaining

This drama does not necessarily stand out from other modern dramas of the same category. It doesn’t have any unique aspects or issues but it was entertaining.

The Good

The characters were easy to connect with. They were your everyday average people whom weren’t over the top. They didn’t have extreme personalities or major childhood traumas that affected their daily life. It was your average run of the mill, guy and girl meet, then fall for each other. This show had pockets of comedy that kept it entertaining and even though the leads were inexperienced in love, neither did anything that compromised their integrity. Also, a strong plus was there weren’t any evil love triangles. The secondary couple was also quite interesting to watch since they were more experienced in relationships and faced a completely different issue than our main couple. I would definitely say this is a more mature/normal take on relationships. Lastly, the acting was decent all around.

The Bad

Number one thing is it doesn’t stand out from other modern dramas. The plot didn’t offer anything new and some may not find it interesting. Although I mentioned that it’s a more mature drama, there were some aspects that were a little immature such as the FL clothing style but it didn’t bother me much.

I’d recommend a watch if you are looking for a light Rom Com but don’t expect anything mind blowing.

Romance comedy drama My Special Girl

I’ve done watching and rewatching again because I can’t get over for this drama because the storyline is so relatable to real life. First I love the difference between tall , handsome man and beautiful short woman. Every episode I watched makes me excite and enjoyed considering our lead actor Zhang Yün Long and lead actress Song YiRen are both experienced acting of their career. The storyline quite simply of Hao Liang had dual identity and Gu Jiuling can’t figure it out the identity of Hao Ling and Dai because of his illness cross-race effect. In short over all its really enjoyable watching I recommends this drama to watches this drama.

A Delightful Gem -like a rare precious stone...

A Delightful Gem, like a rare precious stone...
I wasn't expecting to like this drama but thought I would give it a try, however, 5 episodes in, I am amazed at how captivating and mesmerising this is, it is a delight to watch the two male and female leads in a contemporary drama as I have only seem both in period dramas, both Leon Zhang and Ireine Song embodies and personifies extra edge that extraordinary natural talent brings is something that cannot be taught and is what makes great actors stand out … know what is required at a given moment by their viewers; to immerse in the drama

An often funny, humorous and thoughtful drama, the acting is convincing, conveying a believable sense of truism and platitude, how people would actually behave

it was okay , a good drama to kill time

the story was interesting yet basic , saw many stories like this , but it was funny and mix of drama and sadness , heartbreak and jealousy , but I didn’t like the involvement of aunt yibai a lot in between hao liang and gu Juili, it was obvious that , hao liang as dai was definitely lip syncing , wish they tried it to make it more natural! but the songs nice , the second leads story was really really basic , like the typical one , u see it a lot in many dramas , and did you guys notice the house aunt yibai was living in seemed similar to the in the brightest star in the sky and city of streamer , I think that’s about the drama , it was nice
