Great cast, good acting, interesting theme, good camera work
I really enjoyed this series, so I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I liked it enough to watch some behind the scenes videos that showed how the actors worked to perfect each scene. Dialog and movements were much more ad-libbed and less scripted than I imagined, and I was impressed how they improved from the first run-thoughs.. The weather theme and some poetry enters each episode and is thoughtful. The cast commented that they knew nothing about weather forecasting and had to learn a lot just to carry the scenes. The sound tracks were enjoyable for the most part. ( A song toward the end was a little over the top ) . Camera work, color grading, and editing were also well done. Was this review helpful to you?
Excellent...for 6 episodes
Stop there. You'll enjoy it. PMY kicks all kinds of ass. I rate the first 6 eps 9.5/10.It's appalling how much the show undermines her after that.
The kid is okay at the beginning. Arrogant, but sincere. His transparency is a welcome balm after the tribulations she goes through at the start.
The secondary couple are garbage people. Stop before their "redemption arc" gets going.
The mom is horrible and never gets any better. No loss there.
All you will miss really is a cutesy third couple. You will save yourself so much heartache and disappointment.

Boring and Bland with a Side of Toxic Relationships
I manage to go as far as ep 8, but I can't really find the enthusiasm to push through until the end. Other than a few scenes together where they disagree on things at work or work together to resolve work-related problems, I can’t really understand where and how they fell in love. Maybe it’s just “he’s young and hot,” “she’s older and hot”, so let’s just make out. I don’t know. Unfortunately, the pairing looks wrong: she looks like a tired working woman in her 30s and he looks like a recent college grad. When the two of them are together making out, I just want to look away. Now, if there was some chemistry, some fire in this relationship, I could probably continue watching. As a woman trying to earn respect in her professional field, she’s stepping on the proverbial poop by having a secret love affair with her direct subordinate. How is this okay in an office environment? We’re talking about an imbalance of power, sexual harassment, favoritism, and a whole array of other workplace issues. Maybe these behaviors and actions are acceptable and normal in SK, but where I am from, get ready to be reprimanded and fired. If they’re colleagues and of equal ranks, or he doesn’t report to her, then ok. Also, the two exes who are now married to each other are annoying AF. The male ex is crazy, a cheater, a slime ball, but at least he’s an interesting character, whereas our ML is pretty bland. After eight episodes, I am not vested nor interested in what happens to the main couple, secondary couple, or any of the supporting characters, so it’s the end of the road for this drama for me.Was this review helpful to you?
I just love it
I usually watch a drama after it's completed. This time I do it weekly as the come. OMG, it kills me, lol!! I was expecting something that sensibly flows and it delivers. So glad that there isn't many annoyingly mood killing exaggerated scenes. Cross my fingers this will end happily.Love all the casts, they interact very well. Really really really hope it stays this way until the end.
By the way, Park Min Young is very adorable, she's just like a doll, a porcelain one. And Song Kang, what can I say? I'll eat him alive ??
Love FLAW ❤️?

Leads have no story development and the show is boring
First people are saying about the age gap, I have no problem with the age gap, Park Min Young is my least favourite FL to be honest, first time I watched her was in Whgat's wrong with Secretary Kim and that was my last, I didn't like her character, because of the way people praise her, I tried to give her a chance and yet I'm disappointed again. have no problem with Song Kang's characters. Coming to the drama, it's boring, especially when it comes to the secong Leads, they are really trying to make viewers hate them and that's making them boring on screen, no story development whatsoever. If they wanted to add Seconds Leads they should have just given them a normal story than a cheating story which doesn't make sense at all, after cheating then you go back to ask for advice from you ex. About weather and romance, I didn't see any romance at all.Assistant director UM stayed away from his wife for a decade and still the only time he had to make up for his daughter on her birthday,he decides to disappoint her, was it even necessary to turn back to the office.
Si Woo's was the worst, but cancer came through and he got redemption, second chance from the son after abusing him all his life, Director Jin was wrong for pushing him to forgive the father.

disappointingly shallow plot
this show was extremely boring to me. there was too much going on at once, many unnecessary storylines that were useless and did not contribute to the main idea of the show at all. i was really confused most of the time. the plot itself is very realistic as it represents adult relationships in our generation, but it is not too interesting.the writers' attempts at using weather metaphors to describe the 2 love stories were shallow and plain.
would recommend watching this show as a time-killer only.

Honestly I don't really understand the really low rating here on MDL (currently it has 7.6 only). It's not THAT bad . It definitely isn't the best drama out there but for me it still had more pros than cons, thus my fairly high rating of 9 stars for this k-drama. The story first: the setting was very unique and I got to learn a lot of things about the work of people in meteorological agency. It was interesting to see how much it was affecting all the people even by just changing the coming of the rainy season for a few days. I came to like the supporting characters working there a lot, they all had their own hardships and struggles that made interesting sub-plots that were entertaining to watch.
I just LOVE Park Min Young so I just might be a bit biased towards all her dramas but she nailed the role as always. Other actors did a great job too!
Out of the characters I have a very mixed feelings towards the SML because although he did many questionable things and sometimes he was just borderline obsessive with his ex-fiancee, at the end he got better and became a better husband and future father.
My favourite side couple was definitely FL's sister and the guy from meteorological agency, they were just so cute together! And her books about the crocodile and penquin :3 I love how he was so supportive of her
The music I really liked, especially the one OST that was just so bubbly and cheerful that it always put a smile on my face.
Overall, a 9* drama for me. A perfect drama to slowly watch with a hot cup of delicious tea to unwind after a stressfull day .

I liked it more than i should have
Okay so if i was being completely objective i would give this show a 7/10 at most. Honestly speaking though, episode 1 through to around episode 9 i think, this was by far my favorite kdrama ever and i just couldnt get enough of it.Unfortunately, the second half of the drama in my opinion completely lost the magic that could draw anyone in and it was like if the writers room was like "ok, so we've done a lot of character development, its time to turn up the melodrama!!" And they sure did.
That said i am a sucker for anything the FL does and this is no different, her smile is just too much for me

What started as mature and charming turned out to be incredibly shallow.
The show started good, it had good communication between the main characters, they acted maturely during their budding relationship and met the challenges with honesty and openness... it was refreshing. Then it all went out the window.I could say a lot, a whole lot... so much, but I will keep it short because otherwise I will just start venting.
The shows narrative consistently frames people in different lights, and then changes it completely. They frame the exes as really horrible, shallow people, especially Ki-Jun. They spend so much time making him a horrible person, then with very little effort or growth he becomes a kind and considerate partner at the end. The main couple start out mature and charming but then do a complete 180 and make out of character decisions that make zero sense, and their character becomes distilled into immature people who cant be honest about their feelings. Over half of the show is just them longingly gazing at each other from across the room, and being stupid about their relationship, it felt juvenile and painful to watch.
With how they wrote both Si Woo's father and Ki-Jun, I think the story would have been much better if they had made them less shitty in the beginning if they wanted to redeem them later on. The lack of any shred of decency early on sets them up to be villainous, but with how they wanted the story to go, they didn't include enough real humanity to build upon later. Which is a shame because in isolation I would have enjoyed how their relationships progress later on, but with the complete leap in character, to me they might as well be alternate universe versions of themselves.
The side character's stories were painfully slow, and just felt a bit exhausting except for the sister and the hipster guy with glasses.
Towards the later half of the show Ha-Kyung kept crossing boundaries about Si-Woo's father and never addressed it, and acted like she did nothing wrong. All we got was Ha-Kyung having a surprised pikachu face in the hospital which was admittedly quite funny, but it was never really talked about after that it was shitty to do and she never apologized. The show clearly panders to forgiving shitty men, and parents who are abusive. It repeatedly frames setting boundaries with people who are destructive and abusive as "immature" or "heartless", and those boundaries just go away because "family" when something bad happens.
The show comments on sexism at a few points but does nothing to actually make a point, and cuts itself off at the knees by repeatedly hand waving bad behavior from men.
The weather parts are stupid, they continually act like they cant report probability of rain or other weather and act like it has to be either no rain, or rain... nothing in between which is just... not how that works, and I cant suspend my disbelief enough to bother caring about it.
Overall the show is frustrating and throws out character development for drama, and then throws in character development out of nowhere for characters that had no business getting developed. The whole show is kind of a mess, and while it is mildly entertaining, it becomes exhausting to watch and the pay off is incredibly weak and shallow by the end. After watching it I just feel tired and frustrated, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
Also... I am so fucking tired of weather metaphors...

Slow & Cheesy with surprisingly nice moments
From the start I wasn’t super hooked on this drama, but it had some very nice and touching moments, and some interesting and unexpected character development. The cheesy comparisons to weather were mostly boring and too much of a stretch for me to enjoy. I get it, it’s a weather show, but it sometimes felt like the story was being shoehorned into the metaphor, vs. the metaphor complementing the story. I liked the moral complexity of the characters, everyone is trying their best even if that sometimes wasn’t “good enough” or “kind” or “right”. I was way more sympathetic to the second leads than I thought and grew to be rooting for them and their character growth. Their past horrible behaviour is never excused or forgotten but everyone moves on with their lives eventually.
Things that might annoy you:
- Indecisive leads
- Cheating characters portrayed sympathetically
- People making the same mistakes over and over
- Very annoying pushy Mom (not new in kdrama but UGH)
- Fast development of romance in the first couple episodes
- Manipulative Dad / addiction issues
- chemistry between main leads was so-so
Things you might like:
- Learning about weather forecasting
- Morally complex depiction of the second leads and other flawed characters
- Some very silly moments
- Fast development of romance in the first couple episodes
- Sister & Nerd (Jin Taekyung & Shin Seokho) romance was so cute & funny!
- Slower paced - easier to not get hooked and get no sleep
- Kind of hilarious how seriously everyone takes the weather forecast in that bureau
Possibly trigger warnings (SPOILERS!):
Cheating, gambling addiction, manipulation, suicide (flashback), parent death, child neglect, cancer, anaphylactic allergy, discussion of abortion.
Overall not the best, especially in comparison to other dramas being released at the same time, but it is heart warming and fairly easy to watch if you aren’t triggered by any of the character’s respective issues.

Drama for more mature audiences
This drama should definitely be rated higher overall. People were expecting fluffy love like what's wrong with secretary kim, but this drama has so much more to offer than just comedy and fluff. It was emotional and displayed a lot of the human struggles people normally face in their lives and relationships. Much of the complaints seem to stem from the fact that there aren't enough "lovey" scenes between PMY and SK, but I thought they had great chemistry! All the characters fight and have their frustrating moments, but it only more clearly shows their humanity and the realistic character development. Was this review helpful to you?

WTF
Aint no fucking way yall let the 2nd lead couple have a happy ending. What they did was utterly disgusting and trying to make them likable and make us have empathy for them is ridiculous. They are horrible people who deserve nothing. But hey I guess that's the reality. People do shitty things and get away with it.
