pretty faces, no value.

overall, boring. i mean, i did like that in some ways, but there shouldve been more to it.

considering this show takes place on an island you think they would take advantage of their surroundings and maybe go on hikes or zip lining, or challenges for contestants like surfing or something. instead there were like three “challenges” where they ran into the water or push each other around in mud. all of the contestants also just stay on the beach and complain how hot it is all day. which btw, how will they call this hell when everything is provided for them and there aren’t any actual hardships besides lack of phone lol. like why didnt they have them explore together or do something challenging?

it felt like i was mostly just watching them have excessively deep convos about their feelings for each other. it’s ridiculous how attached they get to other contestants because theyd have been there for a day and theyre obsessed. i wish the series had taken longer so the relationships made more sense. and none of the contestants were sincere, it was clear they were there to promote their social medias or business. the ones that were sincere had no screen time.

as for the commentators, they kept trying to make drama where there wasn’t any. like a zoomed in shot of someone’s face suddenly meant that they were torn apart on the inside. plus, they kept excusing a lot of the male contestants behavior, calling sehoon admirable for chasing after jiyeon even though she stated she didnt like him.

Dating show with k-drama plot quality.

The show was weirdly addicting, even though it was far softer compared to western dating shows. The focus on the feelings and not just sexual attraction made the stakes higher, even though I knew it’s all over the top behavior. They knew each other for 8 days, how much in love can they truly be?

The aspect that was for me as interesting as the show itself was the audience reaction. The double standards we had were strong, and it has been just hilarious to watch. JiA playing all the guys? Queen. Jin Taek showing interest in someone else, because he was not sure about the feelings for his first pick? Trash. So Yeon being true to her feelings and saying what she wants to say: honest and caring. Se Hoon being true to his feelings and saying what he wants to say: egoistic and selfish. And the same story happened with a lot of male and female contestants.

Truth is, the female contestants are not unproblematic queens that deserve better. They were all just normal people, who barely knew each other and had no obligation to stay loyal to anyone just because they picked them once. They guys were not trash, there were no red flags, we are all just hypersensitive about the most basic and normal behavior.

As entertaining as the show was, I had few complaints. First, it was way too short. I would say adding at least 2 more episodes would be better. Keep the 8 days format, but getting 2 episodes per day would be ideal. It would make it easier to understand the relations between contestants and understand their choices. I feel like sometimes we just missed the context, because it was never shown on screen.

Another thing was adding new contestants so late. If they decided to stir the pot, they should have added them after the first date - long term it would create more tension that they wanted, and not last minute cheap “twists”. Not to mention the idiocy of casting Cha Hyun Seung, when he knew few contestants, which goes against everything these shows are about (and the “not knowing each other's age and profession).

Overall, I had a lot of fun. My favorite person was An Ye Wow - the only one who took the show for what it was: a little bit of fun adventure. Everyone was so serious, as if they were about to get married the moment the program ended, while she was just having fun meeting new people and enjoying herself. The best chemistry for me was between Hyun Joong, So Yeon and Se Hoon - these three were such an underrated comedic trio who radiated best friends vibe, I wish we could just watch them chilling and joking around a bit more. Best thing was: I did not really feel bad for anyone. Picking extremely good looking, popular, successful people makes me take their love hardships less seriously. “Oh no, this hot dude in his mid 20’ just got rejected for the first time in his life, what a tragedy”.

It’s ok, nothing amazing

I understand the whole Hell/Paradise concept and this was ok for me but at the same time as they were in a isolated island, they couldn’t do much and the dates for me was pretty boring, especially the hotel ones.

Plus, I found difficult to like the cast and only liked a few people. I also think that the cast didn’t have the much of chemistry together and the final couples didn’t excited me at all. It seemed like Hyunjoong liked Jia more than her likes him. Sehoon and Jihyun could be cute but his attitude isn’t cute at all. Jintaek and Soyeon could also be amazing because I do think they have chemistry but idk I just don’t like the guy. AND OMG I’M NOT EVEN GOING TO TALK ABOUT SIHUN BECAUSE HE WAS SO DUMB! I actually think the show gave too much screentime for the wrong people because OMG Yewon and Junsik were SO UNDERRATED that it hurts! And Yewon BEST GIRL seriously I just don’t understand why all the guys wasn’t chasing her.

Well talking not about the good points, I do think the show can be exciting because we tend to guess who is going to be paired with in each episode. And the other good point is that the episodes it’s not the long and the hosts don’t talk that much all of the time (I watched others shows and omg the hosts talked A LOT)

So yeah. For me it’s a watchable show because it’s a easy one to watch and if U like this kind of dating shows I do recommend this one but for me it’s not the best, actually a little weak if compared to others and I’ve seen betters (as for example, Love Catcher)

A very light version of a dating show

Having finished watching this at the weekend, I will say that if you are looking from an USA or EU its very tame. Its a Korean version of Love Island.

Both the girls and the guys are stunning looking. There is the usual drama of the girls using the fact that they are female to manipulating the guys with various degree's of success. The is hints of possibly sex or even a kiss but being a Korean show its probably banned from showing it.

For a show supposedly set on a desert island they are constantly changing clothes and their makeup is perfect all the time.

Overall its a fairly pleasant show to watch, it won't be taxing on the brain. Also now that its over you will defiantly see some of the cast appearing on shows and media in the next while.

Overhyped and underwhelming

Dating/romance reality shows are a dime in a dozen yet for some reason this was crazy hyped on social media. Other shows like Love Island, The bachelor and even Big Brother are infinitely more entertaining than whatever this is supposed to be. For a reality show it is EXTREMELY boring, mostly because nothing happens. It is extremely conservative so no sex, no kissing, heck there's barely any touching until the last few episodes. Hell, there's no drama either. Koreans or should I say Asians in general are rather conflict-adverse so don't expect any big showdowns like you see in Kdramas where people fight over lovers. The closest thing to "drama" would be So-yeon and Se-Hun's "argument" over her supposed "confession" which honestly barely counts as an argument since they were both extremely polite throughout. Instead, there's a lot of awkward talk about feelings and ideal types that left me feeling a lot of second-hand awkwardness/cringe...which I don't think is what you should be feeling while watching a reality show.

Participant-wise, they are extremely bland with cookie cutter personalities/looks. The girls are all conventionally attractive, rail thin and pale as ghosts with their jobs all being model/influencer/Youtuber. The guys all have 6 pack abs, enjoy exercising (except for one dude who liked cooking) and are Youtubers/influencers/business owners as well. When everyone is literally the same, it's hard to root for any one particular person/couple. Doesn't help that almost all the guys are fixated on Ji-Ah, and watching all the guys pine for her gets old fast. Also, some of the guys give off MAJOR creepy vibes (Se-Hun, Si-Hun and Hyun joong) which makes for awkward viewing because of how obsessed they were with some of the girls. The hosts were also SO BAD and added 0 entertainment value to the show. Like seriously, what was their purpose? To rehash a scene that happened literally seconds before??? God, they were so annoying and I skipped all of their scenes.

The only entertaining thing were the games, which were quite funny and innovative. Too bad they were too short and most of the time was spent allowing participants to have their awkward chats. The whole island felt so underutilized as well, they could have asked the participants to do more outdoor type activities but for some reason didn't.

TLDR: give this show a miss unless you don't mind basking in feelings of second-hand awkwardness and cringe.

The first and last time I’m watching a korean reality TV Show

I was very excited at the idea of a Korean dating show at first because I’m a big fan of American reality TV, especially dating shows. Sadly, Single’s Inferno was extremely lackluster in all aspects and I’m going to explain why. I suppose the best place to start is the contestant introductions. I felt like I was being introduced to the same exact person every single time. The only things I knew about every person was that they were really hot (and they knew it) and that they worked out a LOT. That’s not a personality! It’s pretty hard to get invested in a show about love when everyone has similar hobbies, looks, and even occupations. There’s just no variety. Other than that, I felt like the entire structure of the show was very dull. The contestants were mostly shown cooking, spending their days talking to one another in the same 3 locations, and sometimes participating in dumb agility games in order to, you guessed it, talk some more. There really wasn’t much incentive to keep watching since there wasn’t much drama, episode variety, or even contestant variety. Overall, this dating show was an absolute drag, and literally any other American TV show is better than this.

A thought-out reality show.

This reality show has had me hooked for the last week as the cast is very likeable and quite diverse. Taking advantage of popular and proven concepts from similar competition dating titles makes this show truly unique. If I had to describe what this show is like to watch, it would be a mix of Terrace House, Love Island, and Survivor. Having four funny and likeable hosts to share their opinions and comments on how the participants interact is also quite enjoyable for the viewer. The soundtrack has not been very memorable when compared to other reality shows, however it does not immensely impact the viewer experience.

There are a few improvements that I would like to see if this show returns for a second season:
1. Inferno Island Set - personally I felt that the island has been underutilised with buildings just placed at random. If this show is to return for second season, which I hope it does, I would like to see more of the island used and not just the beach.
2. Improved Challenges - the challenges given to participants have been pretty basic and all physical. I'm not sure if this is intended in-order to keep the show concise, but more diversity in challenges would be appreciated.
3. Catchy Soundtrack - personally I think this show needs a catchy soundtrack or intro song to really make it memorable and stand out amongst the crowd.

Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying this show and cannot wait to see what couples are formed.

Lovely & Entertaining

So far it is very entertaining and who doesn’t love an entertaining show? The contestants are charming, lively and hot. The hosts don't interrupt the show too much, they show up just at the right time and their inputs are exactly what I'm thinking which makes the show very relatable. It's just 2 episodes so far but i have noticed a patern among the contestants. They're all going off on looks and they lose interest immediately. This makes me question if we are even gonna get any real couple out of this show?

SIHUN & SEHOON

CREEPY BEHAVIOUR
their actions show something really different from their words.
sehoon was just indirectly forcing her to choose as she hurt his pride by rejecting him.
the same goes with sihun, he choose jia in the last even though sumin was nice to him was he wanted to show-off that he's much more worthable.

IT STARTS WITH 4 GIRLS & 5 GUYS.
BUT 2 MORE GIRLS JOIN & ANOTHER GUY JOINS.

jia was the main character.
she gotten chosen by 3 men in the last.
but i am happy she choose her puppy.

cha hyun seung should've chosen yeawon.
and
choi sihun should've chosen sumin.

more than drama

I feel that this show is more than a drama, although it's not. the story is very well made. You can laugh and be upset at the same time. I was amazed how they chose the cast. they have very different backgrounds in life, but they are all really very professional. live a good life, have a very healthy body, and even have very good life principles?? they are all not just ordinary people.

if you watch while airing, of course it will cause a lot of couple team supporters and that makes the show very exciting. Even when it's finished, the cast is still promoting by re-sharing fan posts via Instagram, making it difficult for people to forget this show.

Entertaining Hot bodies and drama everywhere and I liked it.

This was my first Korean dating show I was never interested in them until it was trending on TikTok and I was intrigued. And when I started I couldn’t stop, I do recommend this show but I have more to say. This will not have spoilers.

The contestants

- Yewon - Ugh this women is absolutely beautiful and she is so under appreciated on he island. The people behind the show did her so dirty by not giving her enough screen time like how are not more guys after her. Also I like how she takes this show very lighthearted. She doesn’t get upset if she get rejected or even when she was left on the island. Yewon is just here to have fun and maybe make some friends. I just love her and I think based on what I’ve seen she’s become a fan favorite and that makes me really happy.
- Jia- Now lets move on to the one the only Jia. I love Jia she is very flirtatious and charming and absolutely gorgeous I can understand why she has every man at her feet. Also I’m really happy for her she’s gotten a lot more subscribers on her YouTube channel (Freezia) But actually I think I’ve gotten to like her more after watching her YouTube videos then actually watching her on the show. And not because on the show she is a bad contestant but I think her videos reflect more on who she actually is. And the reason I love Jia is not because she is gorgeous of course she is stunning but I like her more because she’s and independent women who see’s her self worth.
- Si hun- I think he is really nice but like a lot of the guys in inferno he really doesn’t take advantage of the fact that there are other girls in the island he sticks to one which isn’t bad its sweet but not when she rejects you.
- Hyun Joong- This man I actually really like him from the begging I could kinda tell he was shy and introverted and is very honest about his feelings. And he doesn’t raise any red flags he’s not problematic if I’m being honest like when he sees the girl he likes with someone else he doesn’t get mad or get in his feelings which is completely normal to show emotion in that situation, but he doesn’t because he trusts her and I think thats really cute.(I won’t spoil who he likes)
- Jun silk- Screen time who? Okay just so we are clear this man is not contestant like legit I think we seem him in two frames each episode. But in regards I do like him cause he’s nice and appreciates yewon from the very beginning so I like that he saw my girl.
- Jin taek - To be honest I was so suspicious of him in the beginning because it seemed like he was coming for a fling. But I did go through a rollercoaster with my feelings on him but overall I think he’s very sweet and I do like him.
- So yeon- I love this women so much for real like she is legitimately amazing, maybe I like her so much because her personality is most similar to mine. And she is so loved and appreciated by everyone in the show I think she really is close and is friends with everyone because she is so comfortable and friendly.
- Ji yeon- I don’t love or hate this girl she is so so pretty but I don’t know she is just there for me and some of her actions in the show get me honestly a bit suspicious.
- Se hoon- I think he can be very sweet and nice but he doesn’t make good decisions. I can’t say a lot because it will be a spoiler.
- Soo min- I am so happy this pretty pure hearted girl came into the show at the end because I think if she was here from the begging she would be under appreciated and not seen and we would fell bad for her but she is way to nice and sweet that I can’t handle seeing her get hurt.
- Min ji- Also stunning I think she would be so entertaining so I wish she could’ve come in from the beginning of the show because she is feisty and doesn’t give up on the man she wants.
- Hyun seung- This leaves me to the new boy which is personally my type out of all the men he is the type of man who is muscly and looks strong and hard to approach but when you get to know him you realize how sweet and soft he is. Also just the fact that he has tattoos makes me love him.

Concepts/ plot
The concept of the show is actually not bad at all but I do think that if you think about it in a different way, I realized that the show as the contestants say is very “cruel”. It’s very entertaining for us but when I think about the contestants I’m like this is there real life but at the same time I don’t think its that bad cause at the end of the show everyone said that they learned things that will carry on with them throughout there life and that they have all become very close friends which made me so happy, I was expecting everyone to be in completion with the other because of a girl or a guy but everything turned out smoothly but the show can get boring sometimes to be honest.

I do recommend this show hope my review helped I try my best not to give spoilers.

Si hun needed to back OFF :DDD

Personally, I never thought I would watch it because I'm not a fan of reality shows, but I kept seeing so many edits on TikTok that I decided to watch, and boy was this decision right!
First, let's talk about the cast: I loved Kang So Yeon and Jia mostly! They were always so genuine and it wasn't boring watching them! Jia literally saying no one is her type (queen literally: DD) and she was straightforward about what she wants in a guy which was really nice. Was very disappointed when no one picked or wrote to An Ye Won because she was such a sweetheart from the start (3, the two new ones didn't catch my attention much but Kim soo min seemed like such a cool person to me. The guys where DO I start. Kim Hyun Joong was the best to me, he never picked anyone else but one person and he was very understanding and UNLIKE Choi Si Hun didn't follow Jia when she was with him. Literally, the minute Si hun started following them that's the moment I felt like he wanted attention. I mean yes I understand u wanna hang out but they literally went together and he said oh yeah it's okay but then FOLLOWS THEM. Oh Jin Taek was a player personally So Yeon is 2 good for him, Moon Se Hoon was very weird he kept going from one girl to another but in the end, picked Shin Ji Yeon and they also talked and made up which was very sweet to me(3 Kim Jun Sik he was like random there I nearly noticed him but he seemed genuine and kind. wassskks Cha Hyun Seung was such a hottie when he walked in AND like I knew he will go for Jia but (spoiler alert) I was happy that in the end he wasn't chosen, he came in ep 5 when Jia already had chemistry with Hyun Joong but I think if Hyun Seung would have come in ep 1 they could have been a cute couple. But I found no chemistry between them! The hosts were lmao awkward sometimes I wished they stop speaking:DDD but it was nice having their opinions as well

I definitely recommend it to people who like watching reality shows and also likes when things are slow!
