No character growth

Honestly I was really disappointed by this show. It seemed like there was a new conflict every episode, and the "main" one was the basketball game at the end (which was not entertaining at all). We got some backstory to Fiat's childhood (his mom was super mentally/emotionally abusive) but honestly I felt no character growth from either Fiat or Leo. Sometimes it felt like we were going to get some, but then they reverted back. Poor Leo never really gets to talk about him or his feelings (he obviously feels super insecure in the relationship, as does Fiat), and Fiat is always depending on Leo for honestly everything (emotional support being the biggest). A lot of the obstacles could have been easily resolved with communication, but I feel like this show doesn't know what that means. They're cute together, but I feel like they could have done so much more.

As for the side couple, they were cute until the end, where they decided to break up for no reason that made sense to me (Leon could have definitely followed Pob). I really liked their relationship overall but the ending just left me feeling empty (and the Special more so).

Watch it if you have nothing to watch, but don't expect much.

Why should you give this series a chance: LeoPob

From the ratings I have given and the title I have put it might contradict each other. But as I was rating the whole storyline and whole cast that is why it's like that. Coming to the main point why you should watch this series, the second couple, the second couple, the second couple. They are evey much new to acting comparing to the main leads but they did a great job. Their character development, how their relationship went, how Leon changed everything was adorable well, until ep 12. But it's still worth it.
LeoFiat pairing itself is not bad at all. But their understanding and the mutual relationship is not something you'd want in your life. Give the series a chance for LeoPob.

I mean its better than Tharntype

Tbh many have shared their opinion on how they hated this show or how mame hasnt really done anything right. But imo i feel this is the best project even tho she's a nasty woman.
I feel this show did what it was intended to do, which is why i liked it but im confused as to why people expected more when you know exactly what the tone of the show is gonna be.
Ja and first have such amazing chemistry and helps the show a lot. The real stars for me were leon and pob they really stole the show for me. I stuck thru for them, many would say the same.
I enjoyed the show flaws and all. Its a simple watch and goes deeper into fiat who wasnt really well liked by people but this show justified why he acts the way he does and i think its worth giving a shot.

Lots of Eye Candy, Not Much Meat

In an early episode of "Just Say No," we get a pretty steamy solo love scene, but the scenes featuring the two leads never quite reach the Thai BL gold standards set by dramas like "Love By Chance" or "WhrRU?" The plot is a bit old fashioned, better BL dramas have moved beyond the "O-M-G will my parents disown me if I tell them I'm gay?" cliche. Since Yaoi fiction lives in an alternate reality, it has always seemed to me that boy-boy love should just be taken as a matter of fact so that plots could revolve around more interesting ideas. I had expected we would have a big, romantic finish but, like the rest of story, it's like a series of fire crackers that just sort of fizzle out without delivering an explosion. The strength of "Just Say No" is that the two leads are given a good back story and their intimacy quickly develops on a logical path, without the usual cliche of having one character in denial. Aside from the solo scene, it's not at all clear why this has an R-rating. But given that "R" seems to be the default rating for two guys kissing, the producers certainly had wide latitude to include more interesting romantic scenes with the leads.

Just another toxic show.

I really don't get why they keep doing this. There's almost no reasons to watch this show at all.

The relationship between Fiat and Leo is really toxic, and they try to make it look good somehow but there's just too much.

The only reason to watch this show is Leon, he is literally the only character that makes this show worth watching. It almost seems incredible how a character constructed like him is part of this Mame univerese... But he doesn't even have a nice ending so... is it really worth it?

There was a lot of unnecessary scenes. Some of the "drama" scenes like crying and stuff were too long and boring.

I liked Ja's performance, but not First's. Most of their scenes were kinda cringey, and I really couldn't see too much chemistry between them most of the time.

Smart and James were much better and they really had me rooting for them, I'd like to see them on a better series tbh.

Don't Say No...Until Episode 11!

Okay first off. I had no idea this was even happening. These 2 (Fiat & Leo) were my least favorite couple in TharnType season 2. So I was really hoping this series would give me more reason to like them! Especially with Fiat's character. Well, I can honestly say the series did just that! For the most part. Let's get into it.

By episode 2 I think I went; "Okay yes they are doing exactly what I wanted them to." AKA, giving Fiat a story arch/family background and not having him just be a bratty homewrecker. Were finally seeing repercussions and I started to feel for him deeply! His reasoning behind not expressing to Leo his feelings become clearer. The way he reacts to situations or people (like his stepmom) become crystal clear due to his psycho manipulative and abusive mother. Dude clearly uses sex in order to cope with his trauma and unhappiness. That was really smart to go down that path! Though of course being "promiscuous" isn't a bad thing, however using it as a coping mechanism is not good. Poor baby! We move onto the horror that is his exes. Nobody deserves to have their business out like that. Meaning the sex tape being leaked. It's also illegal due to lack of consent of distribution! First's acting really shown during these scenes. One thing though I wanted to add was this show going into Fiat getting tested for STD's. Because that's for his own safety and Leo's. As well as very important! Overall though I think episode 3 is the strongest in the series. Side note: The underwear scene had me DYING! Fiat you into some sexy underwear good for you!

Moving on to Leo. All I could think during the majority of this series was, Leo is so f-ing sweet! Why is he so sweet!? We love a consensual king! Orphanage donations, checking Fiat's mouth out after he burned himself. Bi***! His character still isn't the most rounded out, butttt he's a lot more likable in this. Though the way his character shifts dramatically at the ending is problematic. But we'll get to that. Let's move on to Fiat & Leo together. Seeing Ja and First together was very believable. Behind the scenes too, they are hilarious! Good job selling me on the drama because they are the opposite. They are so compatible together as actors. Even during the spicy scenes, the chemistry never waned (it actually skyrocketed during parts) so good job! I loved that we had a series FINALLY with a couple from episode 1. Let's see the trials and tribulations of being in a relationship, and not just how they get together. Like Fiat being more experienced sexually, whereas Leo is not experienced at all. All very real and interesting as hell to see!

Side couple time. At first I was like...really? Leon and Pob? But as it continued I was like...YES! I didn't think I'd end up liking Leon's character at all. He's the stereotypical wealthy player, but the series quickly dropped that after he starts pursuing Pob. Which was great! Also good on the series for using the terms pansexual and non-binary when discussing Leon's past relationships. We need more of that diversity! So Leon and Pob's relationship started out with a cat lol and of course the cat died. Which I knew was going to happen! Their first kiss was adorable (and bougie lol). Their first time was actually even better than Leo & Fiat's in some ways. Their kissing was on point! Snapped for real.

All of this stands. But I still want a Cir and Phugun series though! Anywaysss, so everything was pretty great with this series. Until episode 11. Booooo. We had huge hypocrisy coming from Leo's character. I wanted to strangle him for how stupid he was being all of a sudden! We had more blackmail. Which was good the first time around, but now was getting stale. What happened? Like why series!? So that was bad enough, but then....the last episode airs. I'm going to give you an accurate interpretation of my thoughts during the episode:

"Fiat be looking GOOD in this final ep. Okay this convo between Leo and Fiat is giving me toxic vibes and that's not good dude! No he cannot lock you or tie you up baby! Were not repeating this mom nonsense Fiat. Like I'm all for the kink, but this was not done well enough to project that into the actual story! It's just coming off weird and uncomfy. Way to mess up a great side couple too with a weird out of nowhere breakup. Like WTF I hate this episode. It seems like its setting up for a second season though. And we're gonna go from a sad fu*****scene to KINK. WHAT!? But its hot lmao I can't, Fiats moaning lmao and they're shaking the painting on the wall bi***! Fiats jacket has been buttoned and unbuttoned like 3 times. Okay we don't combat revenge porn with more revenge porn. Lets get that straight. Kissing on the court YES, but where's the ring!?"

And end scene. That pretty much sums it up. I was angry, slightly amused, shook and then disappointed by the end. Watch this series over TTS2 FOR SURE, but honestly stop at ep 10. It'll save you heartache!

Just a sweet heartwarmer

A good series! I waited for every episode with so much excitement every week! This show made me smile, laugh and cry. Leo honestly I think might be the best character in this. Leo's faced a lot in terms of heartache but he still chose to stay! I think we should atleast take a moment to appreciate the fact that he literally loves him more than his bf could even comprehend! I mean, his heart is really soft!
Fiat's family story was a little messed up and unconvincing though.

We also can't forget the lovely side couple whose story was equally interesting. I realized break up could hurt as much in a TV show as it could in real life. But the ending for this couple wasn't a great one. It could've been better in terms of the storyline there.

The side characters were fun to watch too and I liked Natsu being sassy and spontaneous.

I'm not really going to give in for all the negative comments out here, cause, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I agree that all of them have their flaws and there were a few parts that I found weird or cringe, and even skipped a few scenes of them being intimate, but in the end, it gave me a feeling of satisfaction. Overall, a good production with expensive settings and cool visuals. I am gonna give a good score for the casting too.

Dedicated to all those in love, may true love always triumph!

To watch this series you have to be patient.

Before starting to watch this series you have to prepare yourself that not everything is gonna be perfect. To summarise everything the storyline is MAME’s style of writing - if that makes sense.

For me this series was 9/10. I loved it. There are lots of emotional roller coaster here. Every episode has both pain and happiness. Well just to let you know this series didn’t pass the ep 11 curse. The curse is still there 😭. There are parts where the acting is not that great but heyyy I still loved it. It’s not that bad. I loved everything about this series except the some parts 🥺

In terms of the storyline , there are meh and aww side. There are some cringing scenes and you may not like them but they’re not that bad. I personally didn’t like some of the camera angles on the bed scene as well but not something that I will complain about.

One thing that I didn’t like was, it’s not about the series but about a characters personality. Leo was the type of person who keeps pain to himself, he puts his happiness behind the happiness of others. He was in pain but he never said anything. He always tried to stay positive. And that made me hurt, seeing him in pain, seeing him keeping everything to himself without sharing, was what hurt me the most and I didn’t like that. When Leo saw Fiat’s past he didn’t talk about how he felt all he wanted was to help the love of his life, when Fiat was sleeping around he didn’t say anything even tho it hurt him , when Fiat was going around Type Leo was there helping him but when he was in pain no one was there for him. And that just hurt me.

My fav part of the series is the friendship part. No matter what they were all together and they all stayed beside each other. What made me cry in this series was when I thought “they are the happiest when their see their friends happiness” they’re all willing to fight someone who came between their friendship. They all supported each other. So beautiful.

LeonPobphan they stole my heart. They are so cute and caring towards each other. I wish I could see more of them. The ending left me lots of pain and even while writing this I am crying 😭. Their happiness was all I was waiting for I wish they were both selfish and just stayed with each other. But that wasn’t the case. Pob didn’t want to be selfish he didn’t want to ruin Leon’s dream. I want a series with both of them.

I wish there was more interaction between Fiat and his step mother and his sister. I wanted that more.

P.S. (to the writer) Why do you always leave me with a pain that I will never forget. My AePete heart was still bleeding, my Tharntype heart in season 2 was suffering and now my LeonPobphan heart is bleeding and screaming. Plssssssss 😭😭😭

Not Too Bad

I had been hearing about this series for quite some time now, so obviously I had to check it out. I know this is a spin-off of TTS2, however, I dropped Tharntype and didn't even bother checking out their second season (A good thing since I heard it was a disaster) So, I was going into this knowing that I've probably missed a crucial part of the story and that *gags* Mame was once again a big contributor to this series. I went in with very few exceptions, ready to see the worst, but truthfully, I was shocked at how consensual, sweet, and healthy both relationships were (not all the way healthy, but not nearly as toxic as Tharn and Type). Don't Say No was a high-heat series with a sorta-overdramatic plotline and a GL couple.

Let's Dive In.

Starting with production, everything was decent and like your typical BL setup. The music was not memorable, yet not annoying, so that's a good thing. We saw a few ad placements here and there, but not anything that were blatant or gave too much filler. I liked how this was a series I could watch and understand without having to have seen TTS2. A plus on the wardrobe would definitely be the gala(?) event that Leo and Leon's mom put on. Lord. The women's dresses were BEAUTIFUL. Huge applauds there. (Also, besides his school outfit, Fiat's fit was kind of fire too).

Onto the plot. I really loved the first episode way more than I usually love first episodes. It was a nice setup, I loved Fiat and Leo's confession, I loved their shyness, and I loved how they were learning to communicate with each other on a more romantic perspective other than friendly. However, what kind of ruined it was the spread of their news plaster throughout the school. I hate yaois, I hated the rumors and the spread of their news everywhere (like the news about their business in the bedroom???) It's invasive, it's annoying, and I hate when they appear in any series cause it ruins my mood more than you could imagine. The plot was going good for a while, I was getting ready for the terrible mistake that Mame would make at literally every turn, and some things were a bit problematic, but not nearly as bad as they have been in the past.

Let's just talk about the supporting cast. I genuinely loved every single person (minus Nam who felt like it was his business to film Fiat and Leo's every movement and post it without their consent) The twins were a nice contribute to the series, they were pretty silly and goofy, but they were there for Leo and Fiat when they needed them. Natsu was adorable, and beside her spreading rumors, I enjoyed her character and her being the coach for the basketball team (although weird(?) since she was a student at the school??) and even more than that, her relationship with Anda. A very subtle GL couple, but hey, we still got one! It wasn't much, but I'm happy where we left it. All the parents did good too, and I'll touch on Fiat's situation in the next paragraph.

Onto the main couple, Leo and Fiat. Like I said, I was really invest in them in the first episode. Even Fiat's raunchy moment in Leo's bed was very nicely done. I loved how they were clumsy, and awkward, and nervous around each other initially. Their communication about sex was even perfect, but all of that was swept under the rug to get in two episodes worth of drama. In the later half of the series, Leo gets caught kissing Punn(?) and it turns into an all out war that didn't need to occur if Leo would told Fiat what happened, or even if Leo would asked what happened. I can't with this. Their communication was the key aspect of their relationship that was going on so strong until writers becme lazy and do whatever they have to without continuing to build up these characters. That was number one. The second thing would have to be what happened in episode 12. Leo and Fiat are forgiving each other and making up, expect that the writer's muct have forgotten all of Fiat's trauma for the past twenty years after they have Leo say something along these lines: "I don't want to see you loving anyone else but me." Um, HELLO?? Why would you say that?? And thenhe presume to saying more possessive stuff, and of course, Fiat has no reaction, like he wasn't having panic attacks over his mom manipulating him into hating everyone beside her. Onto that story, I loved it, I loved it more than anything else with Leo and Fiat. It was handled the best, I liked that they didn't give the mom some quick resolution to a mental illness, and eventually Fiat resolved things with his dad and step-family. Overall, this couple was okay, Their heated scenes were nice, but sometimes their kissing looked weird and off. First's performance was decent, Ja's was okay, but sometimes he was a bit stoic and bland.

Onto the side couple, Leon and Pob. I can't explain to you how much of I loved them, omg. As soon as I saw Pob playing with a cat, I knew it was over for me. They are what really kept me watching this series. Leon was so gentle with Pob that it made me fluster up myself. He was patient and understanding, and consensual, and I love him. Even with they're first kiss, he let's pob know that if he doesn't enjoy what they're doing that he can push him away. God, and their heated scene was done perfectly to the T. This couple couldn't do anything wrong. Until they decided for them not to get together. A betrayal, that's what it is. But even with that, it was still put together well. I think I just love this type of BL couple; the innocent, quiet, introverted, shy, big eyes "bottom" and the silly, goofy, loud, extroverted, ethusatsitc "top". I can't help but love the "opposite attract" dynamic. I think I noticed my love for it first in Fish Upon the Sky with Duean and Meen, but I'm sure there are other's that I've forgotten about. Overall, Smart and James put on some really good performances with some really endearing kisses and a very sweet and soft heat scene.

I won't try and put up a front like I didn't really enjoy my watch. While there were plenty of parts that needed fixing (also the whole King situation and how Fiat didn't even budge when he was told that King drugged him (or maybe even worse, he didn't go to the police??)) But that another mistake I don't fee like getting into. This had to be one of Mame's most tamed series I've ever seen, and I hope she learns that BL can be good and full of heat without the toxic and negative aspects she just aspires to have in these series. Applaud to the cast and crew for a good series.

I won't say it's good

I can't say it was a -good- drama exactly, but you know, I really enjoyed it?
It was very episodic, not really an overarching plot. And basically a soap opera, having fixed one problem, immediately falling into the next one. And problems at a scale, where I would advice every sane person to consult a therapist. But you know, sometimes I do enjoy me some overdramatic situations, where I can just be washed away in the emotions and dramatics of it all.
I also appreciated that the couple stayed pretty much together for the whole series and had each others back (or Leo had mostly Fiat's back, really) except for, off course, the last ep, because this is still a typical (thai) BL. So I don't even consider that a spoiler really.
Leo is very possessive, but I think I was pretty oke with it. (Until ep 12, where I went, maybe... back off a bit, and go see before-mentioned therapist) Both would really benefit from looking into starting a healthy dom/sub relationship, me thinks, with some more communication overall.
I really liked Natsu, here whole personality, and her friendships. And her apparent relationship with Anda. Even though it's never really more explicit than some throwaway lines. I love their lesbian energy regardless.
Second couple was cute, but tbh, wasn't overly invested in them. I did really like the sibling energy between Fiat and Leon.
How to end this review? This could have been way better if they would have digged a lot deeper into all of the trauma of these two, because oh boy, do they have some. And it's all very prominent in how their relationship is/has form(ed).

Gave the music a 4.5 because... I can't really remember any of it. Except when it came on during an emotional scene, and I felt it pretty much ruined the moment so... It would have been a truly neutral 5 without that.

Side couple

I would have gave everything 10 out of 10 like I genuinely was really happy with this series but the ending of leon and pob was the worst ending to exist like there was so many ways it could have been better
1. They did’t even have to add that scene
2. A online or like distance relationship
3. Leon moving with Pob
4. Pob coming back
And so many more but seriously I loved the whole series but the ending ruined it I loved the ending for Fiat and Leo but for the side couple I loved them but I really hated this I really hope in the special episode something better happens and they have a good ending or a second season which I hope comes out quick if there is going to be one and I really wish it focuses on Leon and Pob
