good, fun, intriguing, cute & so-so xD

hur hyunjun's acting is good, the way he portrayed go yoo han's easygoing straightforward fun loving kinda impulsive personality.. i didn't think i'd like a boy with mask on throughout the half of a movie this much but his voice did the job. (i actually like him more when he's wearing the mask xD.)
you'll surely learn a lot of color names watching this movie / series. also some random fun facts about colors. the story seems to have ended abruptly & i think there should be a sequel. i didn't read the book it's based on but i'm thinking i should, to know if there's more to their story.., it's a low budget movie with so-so acting and all. like most of the bls out there. but if you're into bls, i do recommend it. it's nice. the group of friends is really fun. also, for me it was intriguing and if you like thinking, or like to read between the lines, this movie / series could turn out to be more than just another romance story for you.

quick comment on the music. they're good on their own (the line "take my hand, i'll let you go" is on repeat in my head xD)
but i don't think the bgm fit in with the drama for many parts. to me, the music seemed out of place at times. the soundtrack is really important for me and i'm not so happy about this one's. will see if a rewatch can change my mind.

one last note, i read some reviews here and there that say this movie gives a wrong / problematic message & encourages unhealthy / obsessive relationship. i don't think that's the case. the protagonist is an unreliable narrator. idk if you're familiar with the notion but yeon woo thinks a lot of his feelings are due to obsession. that's because his mind is preoccupied with fear. he always presumes his feelings are rooted from the possible negative sides of the mono-probe situation. however imo he's not quite correct about this. he was unable to distinguish love from obsession due to the many common / similar aspects of these two feelings.
nevertheless, love and obsession can coexist. in reality, this story didn't really show either of them hurting the other because of that obsession nor did it encourage anything like that. it only exists in the form of fear, rationally so, which they overcome by the end of the story.

I love this drama so much! One of the best ones!

I love Color rush soo much, Its definitely one of my favourite BL’s. Especially my favourite Korean BL I have seen! :)
The acting is so good, their chemistry is amazing! I’d do anything to get a season 2/ another movie!
Hyunjoon did so well as it being his first Drama, i’m so glad he did a Bl as its just perfect!
The storyline is so interesting and different I think thats one of the reasons i love it soo much! I love how the leads both need each other, I love how they are meant for each other, soul mates are so sweet. You NEED to see this BL! :)

I placed any potential spoilers at the end of this review.

This had a very interesting story concept with an excellent script. I only have one criticism, but it’s not really about the script. See potential spoiler alert at the bottom if you want more info. I like the cast and thought the acting was good considering many of the actors were new at the time. I don’t have a background in film production, so forgive me if I don’t express this correctly. The cinematograph is stunning. They did a great job playing with the different filming styles, such as black/white and vibrant colors. The transitioning scenes when Yeon Woo has the color rush and decolorization were remarkable. I also like the music.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******
My only criticism is the description of the series/move on Viki does not completely match what happens. It mentions parts of the storyline that does not actually take place in the series/movie. However, this is an ongoing problem on Viki. The description on MDL is more accurate.

Random Note: Why does the movie version only have the mysterious phone call at the end?

I was expecting it to be much better

I've watched a few of these Korean BL that have been coming out in the past couple of years. So far none of them were perfect - the plot was underutilized or full of holes, the characters weren't well built, or there wasn't chemistry, but usually there's at least one of these things that is well-made. That's not the case for Color Rush.
I'm probably biased because I've only heard good things about Color Rush, so I was looking forward to watch it, but the only merit I can give it is the fact that, somehow, I managed to watch the entire thing without quitting out of frustration.

First of all, the plot felt pretty inconsistent. I'm willing to give the unanswered questions about the Mono/Probe theme and Yeon Woo's mother the benefit of the doubt, just because the second season has already been announced, but all the other things don't work together all that much. There are characters that seem underutilized and I questioned their decisions, their words and their actions multiple times as I watched - in more than one instance I felt like the driving force behind the story was "this is being said and this other thing is happening because this is what the plot wants".

The characters were disappointing too. Yeon Woo seems to not have a life, thoughts, or a personality that doesn't revolve around being Mono: no hobbies, no dream job, no passions, nothing at all. Yoo Han is introduced as a trainee, but he's never seen during practice and seems to have a lot of time on his hands for someone who is supposed to be a trainee and to study at the same time. A big chunk of the interactions between the two are just long, uncomfortable stares. I don't get why are those supposed to be useful for the sake of the plot or even just the development of the relationship between them. The acting didn't help, especially for Yoo Han: many lines of his felt like he was just repeating his share of the script out loud.
The classmates and Yeon Woo's aunt seemed like interesting characters with a lot of potential, but they were barely utilized at all despite their potential, even when there were excellent occasions for them to get more spotlight.

I wish I could say that this story needed more time, but that would be a lie. It was 2 hours long and I believe that several scenes could have been paced much better to leave room for other things.
I'm going to watch the sequel to see if the story overall can be saved, but right now I only feel like I wasted my time.

I can only recommend it in case you're a fan of that specific "colorblind soulmate AU" kind of story, but other than that I suggest you looking for something else.

Worst BL I have ever seen. Do Not Watch.

I'm going to keep this short because it doesn't even deserve a long review.

The story in itself, despite being unrealistic, could've been made good. However, they tried to fit way too much story into just two hours and most of it never got explained.

It had a lot of problematic elements that promotes toxic behaviour and relationships.

The leads had absolutely no chemistry and their kiss wasn't even a kiss, they barely touched each other's lips and you could see the fear in their eyes from leaning in to each other oml.

The acting was acceptable from the Mono guy, but the Probe guy was pretty bad at acting not gonna lie. Must be the reason they hid his face for half the series lol.

The only good thing in the whole series was the ost which I actually really liked. What a waste.

Please don't watch this drama if you don't want to waste your time on bull.

I crush on your eyes ♡

Loved the drama and the movie just made the experience better. I loved how they transitioned between what would've been a break between episodes. Hyunjun and Yoo Jun still gave me all the butterflies and kept me smiling from ear to ear. The friends of course had me smiling, would've been nice to see them a little more with extra scenes. I didn't give it a perfect 10 because like the drama, we don't have info on what happened with Yeon Woo's mom and it would've been great for them to also add extra scenes for it but I understand with Hyunjun not being apart of season 2 and all. The music was of course beautiful, I always have the soundtrack on repeat. These boys will always hold a special place in this story for me, I'll never get bored of it. I love it so much that I lowkey wish to live in such a world minus the dangerous part of it of course haha. Anyways, if you prefer not to have the break between the episodes and want it to all flow together nicely, I recommend watching the movie version over the drama version.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE BL!

I've watched this movie version because I can't find a good copy of the series version, but I think they're just the same... Well, anyway, I love this so much. I love the storyline, the concept, the development, the conflict, everything... I really love everything in this movie. The actors portrayed their characters well, and they're very handsome. I love every of their interactions, how their relationship blossomed, the different characteristics of the male leads... I mean, it's really cute... how they act towards each other, they're really meant to each other and I love them so much. The effects are also fine... it's great actually, the music, the ending... ahh I love the ending. Just remembering their moments together make me smile. This is definitely added to my favorite list!

Good !

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit, but the movie had some flaws within it.

for example, It didn't exactly finish the plot once introduced, which was a bit annoying as I found that the plot was quite an interesting one.

Another example was with Hur Hyun-jun, actor of Go Yoo Han, who's acting felt a bit tasteless, almost as though he didn't want to be there.

There was good Things about this movie as well though!

Such as the acting of Tae-ui Hong, whom plays Choi Yon Woo in the film. His Emotions throughout it are strong, showing signs of grief, happiness and other emotions beautifully.

The storyline and overall plot was great too, giving a good opening to the film.

Overall, a good watch if you're bored and want to watch something that has a light horror aspect to it.

Unique, small, beautiful and simple

The story is something very unique and different from what we normally see.
Viewing the world from a different perspective, seeing colors for the first time are shown so beautifully in the series.
They have showcased the idea of mono and probe in such an amazing way that it feels logical and real.
The actors have played their role while taking care of the scenery behind the scene, their chemistry, bravo to them for that.
The story develops in a way how it would have developed in the real world, which is why it felt so real even when it wasn't.
