Slow Moving with No Plot
I was hesitant to watch Love Me Love My Voice. I thought it looked like it might be boring and slow moving .Not only was this drama very slow it had no plot. There was no direction nothing was happening. I could not believe they had made 33 episodes with literally no content. The male lead and female lead mainly sat around smiling in each other faces. I picked this drama over other dramas because of it's high rating. What a disappointment. The female lead acted like she had the mind and social skills of a twelve year old, Drama writers gave her and the male lead little to no personality. Sad to say the writers gave the characters no growth. The childish immature way the female lead character was in early episodes had no growth. This is one of the most poorly written dramas I have had the misfortune to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Slowly Slowly... a lot of yummy but also a whole lot of meeh
This drama is one part food/cooking, one part traval, one part friendship and I guess one part music/entertainment drama... oh and a romance... Without Drama.I love most of the side characters, sweet fun to waych, goid friends and have lovely interdynamics. But it also has some really badly preformed, and badly written characters..
Both leads have their charm but to be honest this feels a bit like a teenage daughter of divorce with a cheeting father... sat down and fantasised with her friends.... And wrote some kind of extremely unrealistic fantasy. some kind of type of fantasy drama... more unrealistic than time travel, magical creatures types of fantays. The type that is there to makeup for all the wrongs of her family all at once with very little drama but also the female lead is portrayed as a kid/doll. Thus making me believe it is indeed a story written for kids.
The female lead has some fun bad ass lines here and there... as well as the occasional show of character. However most of the time her mimics, the way she is dressed, the way she runs, walks... are all a crossover between toddler and ballet dancer. Girl can fall asleep at any time and I'm pretty sure she is served milk at one point or another.
The male lead has no time yet is the one making all the desisions, cooking and what nott... he is also 7 years older than than the female lead with a huuuge maturity gap between them. However not a single person seems to mention the age gap... Normally age gaps don't really bother me but here the maturity gap is just too big.
I can't help but wonder about the brainstorming sesion when choosing the ml occupation and character.
Let's make him a voice actor
No we need more
Ok a singer
No we need more
Ok how about a healer...
No we need more
Ok he needs to be a master chef too
No that is still not enough we need more...
Hmm... ok lets take all of the above add some mistery and make all of this secret identitys and throw in a sviour complex and make him a director, planner and... and... a pioneer yes he was a pioneer too... + never had a girlfriend at age 29 because he was waiting for the right voice to come along...
How about the fl?
Fl... fl... hm... ok she can be a foodie who cant cook, composes but rather not sing her own song though she has a nice voice that can't hit high notes. Oh she should be a student too... maybe work at a supermarket or something like that... you know so girls can find something to relate to...
The show has the healthy mains relationship tag and is discribed as a geen flag... but honestly something about him keeps bothering me and though he doesn't force himself on the female lead even once, this is not really a relationship between equal. So my standards for healthy relationships is a bit different than this one...
My favorite characters are the groups manager and the two singers in the group whoem are waaay more interesting than the leads. I aloso loved the cosplayers. Fun to watch and a ship I would love to see the friends of this show in a Taiwanese spinoff...
The pacing is a bit off at times painfully slow... matching the theme song slowly slowly we fall in love... though the falling was fast apparently they had a parashoot with a propeller...
An okay watch with a whole lot of beautiful shots (mainly of food), and a whole lot of good (mainly side characters) but to much meh to get a higher score.

SOOO sweet, wholesome and cuteee. Highly recommend
Came into this with only watching one trailer and zero expectations or knowledge of it prior BUT, the minute i started watching, i couldn’t stop smiling. My cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. Since episode 1 to the end, everything was just so wholesome and heartwarming. The development between the main leads were so natural and beautiful to watch. Def would of loved to see more of the side characters’ love stories developing more but overall still very cute. This was such a treat. Soo sweet. Such an easy watch, i couldn’t have asked for anything else. All the characters are adorable, the story was so easy to follow. The concept of voice actors was refreshing and interesting to watch. So refreshing as a romance drama. YES. JUST YES. I binged this show in 2 days and i don’t regret it one bit. Sad that i finished so quick tho. Highly recommendWas this review helpful to you?
Music, Food & Love
Such a sweet story with no third party scheming, misunderstanding. Pure love & relationship.Mo Qing Cheng is a cardio doctor who is also a top dubbing actor with a huge fan following. He is an introverted, shy, matured guy.
Gu Sheng is a composer & singer who is a huge fan of Gu Sheng. She is pampered by her 4 cousins a lot.
Main leads awkwardness in their initial phone calls, don't know what to talk about. It was so cute because this happens in real life as well.
The way they executed food scenes is so eye-catching.
Loved & enjoyed each of Mo Qing Cheng's friends. I enjoyed & loved those scenes where Zhou Zheng, Feng Ya Song, Dou Bing, Wang Ke, Fei Shao, Mu Mu & Mo Bai they all teased the main lead. Mu Mu's feedback on everything was so funny.
Usually I would cringy with the cat sound between scenes, but I didn't, in fact, I find it cute.
My only complaint is that they would have made it into 16 episodes with a longer duration as it's a simple story with no misunderstandings, arguments, separation.
Love the OST

THIS IS NOT AN OBJECTIVE REVIEW
Writing this literally after I finished watching it. I feel so empty. I wish I could erase my memory and re-watch it.The highlight of this drama has to be the fact that there is no drama, whatsoever. It's not exactly slice-of-life, but not so far from it either. We witness Shengsheng, a talented up and coming composer with a beautiful voice, and Mo Qingcheng, an acclaimed voice actor and a doctor, fall in love with each other's voices and slowly with each other. Their journey as they get to know each other, supporting both their respective careers is just so beautifully portrayed by Zhou Ye and Tan Jianci.
The setting of the story is very much focused on voice acting and singing, and even though I cannot guarantee the accuracy of how it is portrayed in the drama, I feel like it treats that subject matter with a lot of respect. There's a running theme of found-family and friendships that formed within the close-knit voice acting community. The music of the drama is definitely a main character, there are so many beautiful songs I can't even choose.
Note of warning, make sure you have food near you, or you've eaten plenty before watching. Food is pretty much the love language of Shengsheng and Qingcheng and the drama prominently features a variety of delicacies with detailed shots of them being prepared. Apart from that, you can feast your eyes on exquisite scenery in Yangshuo and Qiandao and of course the visuals of our main couple (❁´◡`❁)
As much as I love this drama, it is definitely not for everyone. I have seen some people express their displeasure about the lack of conflict and I see where they are coming from. Which is why, I would recommend this drama for people who just want to relax, unwind after a long day as it transports you to a musical, love-filled dimension with great food.

Romance, Food and Music
I didn’t want to write a review so early in the series but l just could not help myself. I’m enjoying this series so much, everything is just falling into place with the characters. The setting is beautiful, Zhou Ye is amazing as usual and TJC’s voice?? (chef’s kiss). The pacing is so good and l would not mind seeing this for the rest of my life.
If you are still second guessing on whether to start this series don’t hesitate by all means grab some food (because you are going to feel hungry when watching this) and enjoy.
See you at the end?.

Super Cute without trauma (clearly marked spoiler)
I’d just like to second what some other reviewers have said (much more eloquently than I will): This is a light, trauma-free series that is a great respite from all the dark trauma-driven series out there. If you want to just relax and enjoy a bunch of people being super kind and understanding, watch this! The Good
- Beautiful cast all around.
- Many couples getting together with no pointless blowups or breakups
- Loads of people in their social groups - all of who are kind and supportive
- The FL managed to be young, innocent, and cheerful without overdoing it and spoiling the role. And she has a gorgeous smile
:-)
Why not a 10?
I am tempted to give this series a 10. I didn’t for two reasons:
1) There were some of what I consider plot holes that I couldn’t help think about. (Spoiler) For example the FL’s big performance and her family was not there. This did not jive with her healthy and loving family dynamic. (End Spoiler)
2) I think they should have maybe squeezed it down by a couple of episodes, or given more time to two of the other couples, who seemed to get together all of a sudden which had me thinking, “Wait, what? How did that happen?”
So overall a 9 and highly recommend

GREENEST GREEN FLAG OF THE HISTORY. Easily redefined my idea of my ideal man
This drama was sooo easy to watch. A perfect drama to end the year?. No heartbreaks, no conflicts, just genuine growth of love. The male lead is the type of person that once he sets his mind to something, that’s it. He’ll never give up. That is exactly how he felt for the female lead. No hesitations, no doubts, and no what ifs. Just straight out love and dedication.? He doesn’t give the girl a reason to doubt him. This man reassures the girl at every point. Most comforting lines where when the girl asked, “aren’t you afraid that I might love your voice more than I love you?”. Then he replied, “well the part that you love about me is still me right?”.?
Although a bit timid and shy, I especially loved the female lead for being honest. Since she doesn't have much experience with relationships, she tells the guy, "you can be assertive at times" when she feels like they're going too fast, and she doesn't say it in a way that antagonizes the guy, she says it in a soft and comforting way. I cherish how the male lead would react with no sense of anger or sadness. He just literally listens to the girl and they both do everything to strengthen their relationship. Female lead was amazing at portraying her role. Can't wait to watch more of her.?
Characters: Wholesome characters. Everybody gets a happy ending which is why I said this is a perfect drama to watch when you want to boost your mood and have a positive outlook in life. No jealousy among and between characters. This drama shows us what having supportive people around us feel like?
Chemistry: They're first kiss took long but let me tell you once they start, there is no going back? They are so clingyyyy and I LOVE it! It was so fun to watch. Got me feeling single and all that. TBH, I WAS KICKING MY FEET and SMILING SO HARD IN JUST THE FIRST 2 EPISODES!!
Music: Traditional music was highlighted in this drama and let me tell you, this drama has completely change my perspective. I suddenly found TRADITIONAL music beautiful and majestic.
At the end of it all, I was reminded that you can be everything you want. The characters in the story are all amazing people in their own way (and the drama especially highlights that those who are in a better position than you or those who you idolize, are just people who started earlier than you). Mo Qingcheng is a doctor, a dubber, an amazing cook, and now a director. Jue Mei is a ceo, a dubber, and a founder of their company. AND MANY MORE CHARACTERSSS
Rewatch value of this for me is so high! COMFORT drama of the year.

Food and Music, Giving Me Butterfly in the Stomach
This drama is so unique, and so breathtaking. Unlike another dramas where it's just a simple love story between CEO and cinderella, with family conflicts and third wheel, this drama hit differently. This drama told about Mo Qingcheng, who was a doctor and dubbing actor. He also known as Qiang Qingci. He fell in love with Gu Sheng, a student who was also a composer. She also known as Sheng Shengman.
This drama was very simple. Mo Qingcheng fell in love, and he pursued Gu Sheng. He was such a green flag! He can cook, a doctor, doing dubbing, and singing. Being him is so tiring in the real life. He cared about Gu Sheng, and also an attentive boyfriend, which what I liked about him.
The music was superb! I like all of the songs, and also liked the food presentations in the early episode. So mouthwatering and delicious. This drama told all in one about dubbing, food, and music. This drama is a simple watch. Both Mo Qingcheng dan Gu Sheng's interaction gave me butterfly in the stomach, especially in the early episodes. Both of them were so shy, just so unexperienced, and so relatable.

PERFECTION
This drama is perfect in my opinion. I’ve been watching Chinese dramas since the beginning of time, and I never thought I’d get anything like this. Don’t misunderstand, this drama will probably be lacking for many people, but for those who just want a chill, relaxing drama to binge, this would be the one. What it has: fluffy love, cute couples, great music, beautiful scenery, delicious food, pretty people, traditional elements, comedy, and bittersweet meaning…in the form of voice acting/dubbing. There aren’t any of the usual “dramatic” elements like love triangles, misunderstandings, or villains. There isn’t much of a “plot” because of this, and it’s more like a really long, dreamy music video rather than a drama.
A great deal of whatever plot existed is placed on the voice acting/dubbing profession, which is a growing industry in China right now. I don’t want to totally spoil the entire drama, but one of the later scenes related to the profession was very bittersweet for me. This is indeed no banquet in the world that lasts forever. Anyway, I personally have a lot of interest in the profession, so this was an additional aspect that made my impression of the drama skyrocket.
The lead actor and actresses are both really nice, with very cute interactions. I love the fact all the voice dubbing and singing was done by the male actor. As for Zhou Ye (the actress who plays Gu Sheng, long term fans will know our dear Zhou Ye can’t sing XD) The friendship between all the characters are very well done and never fails to induce my envy. Every other part of this drama, especially the food, made me want to visit China and take a good (and taste) look around…
Finally, beware girlies!! This drama’s Mo Qingcheng will raise your standards by miles! He is a walking green flag!!!!

Too much of a good thing
First of all, I'm stunned I was able to watch 33 ~one-hour episodes of a love story that was resolved in the first few.The story is mostly about nothing, except Chinese culture and gastronomy. It's more of a postcard with THREE group trips and not much else. The group dynamic was disturbing a lot of the times. Even I was embarrassed for all the couples. The group was funny but too nosy and always there.
The main thing I have to point out is why are 30 yo men after college girls? That was probably one of the things that irked me the most. I don't find it cute or appropriate. They're in completely different stages in life. That's how manipulation starts in abusive relationships. He doesn't let her do anything with all the "surprises". He didn't even let her savour her graduation and had to put the wedding and their relationship at the centre of such an important time for her. He was, many times, condescending and that upset me a bit.
The pacing in this show is non-existent. I'm surprised, tho, that they didn't have more flashbacks and were able to fill most of the time with new scenes. There were many cute scenes, many funny scenes and the cultural themes were interesting. They presented the world of voice acting and traditional singing quite well.
Besides being able, for someone out of uni, to think they'll be able to buy a house (is the Chinese economy that good?), the other hard thing to believe is all the cooking. It looks like Instagram reel cooking and not real cooking. Everything is fast. All the dishes are done in no time. Taking over a restaurant's kitchen instead of eating with his friends is absurd as is ending up cooking for her family when he was the main guest. Who invites someone for dinner and has absolutely nothing prepared? Where do all the ingredients appear from, is he like Jesus with the fishes? Why would they buy something they didn't know how to cook?
I'm not familiar with what more recent Chinese dramas are doing but waiting 19 episodes for a kiss when they've been dating since episode 8 is absolutely uncanny. It was mostly a friendship until then, only after it was pointed out to them that it was indeed like a friendship did things start to heat up between them.
There isn't much more to say about the story because there wasn't much of a story. Everyone is nice and everything is good and there are no obstacles and the obstacles that are probably what, in real life, would end this relationship - like the fact that someone who is a doctor who has a second job and a university student who doesn't study and is mostly a supermarket clerk - aren't shown to us. It's good to have a sweet drama but too much of a good thing isn't necessarily good. There was no need for 33 episodes.
The voices are amazing. The performances both of the voice acting and the singing are fantastic. It made me curious about that world. The male lead has a voice that can move mountains.

way too long & this relationship gives me indigestion
Sheng Sheng Man is a senior college student who composes Chinoiserie music & participates in a chat group with celebrity voice actor Qiang Qing Ci. They connect through chatting about food & cooking, but don't formally meet face to face. QQC also happens to be a doctor working in a hospital across the street from SSM's family convenience store where she works part time. QQC & SSM are attracted to each other's voices, & QQC begins obvious pursuit online. When they finally meet, they discover that they'd actually run across each other many times. It was great to see Zhou Ye get a grown up lead role in the highly enjoyable Back From the Brink, so it's disheartening to see her take on this rather brainless role. In too many scenes she is either hyperventilating or looking stunned, or both. Likewise Tan Jian Ci, who was absolutely electric in Lost You Forever, has now wasted his time in this vacuum of a show. The writing ("What do you want to do? I don't know, what do you want to do? How is this dish? Mmm, it's tasty!") is excruciatingly mundane throughout the entire show, & ZY's & TJC's talents can't make it any better.
The show feels like an infomercial, where all everyone talks about is voice acting & Chinoiserie music, with a sprinkling of recipes & food shots. SSM & her college friends seem to talk only about QQC & nothing else. Where the heck is the story? As the episodes drag along, it becomes apparent that the only thing anyone talks about is shipping SSM + QQC. The dialogue is juvenile & only serves as a bridge between music or food scenes. The leads don't know what to do when they're together, and other characters exist only to enthusiastically cheer them on. When SSM's mother meets QQC for the first time, within minutes she's giggling while highlighting SSM's talents to him like she's trying to sell a cow. Their relationship status is discussed almost every single scene. This one dimension barely lasts 2 eps, nevermind a mind-numbing 33.
There's a certain creepiness in a man who's almost 30 years old, never been in a relationship, suddenly developing an obession with a young college student just by hearing her baby voice online. What's even creepier is how everyone around them encourages it, inspite of QQC's own warnings about falling in love with a random voice on the internet. SSM repeatedly points out the fact they don't know one another that well, but is thrilled when he unexpectedly shows up at her classroom because he "knows her schedule". Is this not stalker vibes? QQC ends up driving the relationship every step of the way, including buying a house for them & planning a wedding without her knowledge or consent. She only follows along brainless & submissive. Even when the 2nd couple arc starts, it involves QQC's colleague, who's even older, pursuing SSM's schoolmate. What is wrong with this show?
Not until around Ep24-26 does the focus finally change, with QQC making a big career decision. He asks SSM if she loves him only for his voice. She denies it, but acts like his voice actually is the only thing that matters, "as a fan". She isn't mature enough to separate being a fan vs being a girlfriend. Tell me again how this relationship is supposed to work?
When the age gap is with an older female, there are scenes of the female being ridiculed for her age by the younger male's group of friends (Nothing But You, Find Yourself). However in LMLMV, the older males are idolized by the younger group as heros. This double standard is frustrating.
Is it really a college girl's fantasy to be pursued by an older man with her family's blind support? This drama is so unrealistic that not even the gourmet food shots can make it digestible. This show might have worked if it actually left out the romance arc & just focused on the performing arts scene, which did start to get interesting, & the show should've ended with the big music festival. The final 6 eps are a complete waste of time. So unless you just enjoy watching music videos sprinkled with too much mindless PDA this show will not offer anything else.
