A strong finish!

I love the cast and am absolutely biased towards Lee Je Hoon aka Kim Do Ki. The characters he plays is alone worth watching for. However, I can't rate this 10/10. Taxi Driver 2 is a little less intense compared to season 1 so not all the episodes have the same shock value and psychos of season 1. But towards the later episodes, you do get that stress and thrill of season 1.

On Ha Jun's character is a bit more subtle than I would have liked it to be. But there is a bit more focus on him at the end.

The team is great but I missed the constant engineering that went on to improve the car and equip it with new features. However, in this season, everyone is more involved in the actual cases which is nice. We see some great chemistry between Ahn Go Eun and Do Ki. But no real romance for anyone that was hoping for some. Personally, I don't think every show needs a couple. But you get some sweet moments.

The last few episodes were the best. The team, like last season, deals with a situation that they did not anticipate and it was what the series was building up to. What I loved in season 1 was the hand to hand combat by Kim Do Ki. We get some action sequences throughout season 2 as well with major fights in the last two episodes.

I wish there was more of Madam Lim Bok Ja though

Prior to the finale, I had rated the show at 8.5, but the finale did blow me away and gave me everything I was hoping for. Luckily it concludes nicely and there is no cliffhanger. Although they may have teased a 3rd season in future. Let's see if they decide to follow through.

I LOVE the Rainbow Taxi team and I'm glad they gave us so much more variety than the first season. The way everything came together was also fantastic. First season is still superior but season 2 finishes strong!

Another victim of fan-requested second seasons

Don't get me wrong about the title - I am one of the fans that wanted this season to happen. I loved S1 and I wanted to see more of this amazing crew kicking bad guys' asses and avenging victims of several different crimes. However, based on the theme of these first 4 eps, I fear this is not what we're going to get.

I feel like at this point, the only thing that keeps me watching Taxi Driver 2 is Lee Je-hoon because he is an incredibly flexible actor with many faces that are always exciting to see. I have seen multiple of his works and he has never once disappointed me. He is a great actor and watching this show for him alone is totally worth it. Good thing that he's not only the main character, but actually the center of the show, so we get to see him a lot in all his different facets.

Other than Lee Je-hoon, I'm also curious about Shin Jae-ha's character, as he is so far the only thing that fits the "mystery/thriller" tag in the show (and whatever the sniper guy is on). These two plot points are (for me!) the only interesting thing going on, and honestly, it's disappointing.

While I do enjoy the whole crew and their dynamics and jokes, this season is so comedic and light that it feels like it was written for middle schoolers and it has completely lost its essence. Taxi Driver S1 is one of the darkest kdramas out there (or in recent years), and it serves well all the tags. We had a lot of action scenes with actual skilled fighting (I feel like the actions scenes in this season skip a lot of the action part and just show the results of the ass-kicking, which is underwhelming), and said action scenes were actually graphic and violent (tags of the show!), so we were in for the actual promised content. Action, thriller, mystery, and crime were present in every episode and they never felt forced or extra (even with Doki's unrealistic superstrength).

Not to mention that S1 had an incredibly thick plot and it developed accordingly since the very first Ep. It was dark and at times uncomfortable to watch, which is what made it so special and innovative. The cases were all connected to the major plot, and even the main characters' own storylines served a purpose to the plot. Now, I obviously understand why the characters don't have a deep storyline anymore because pretty much everything about them was resolved in S1, but I feel like this season has such a shallow approach that it even made me wonder if the mystery/thriller tags were there in this season at all (had to double check). They should add a comedy tag, and if they continue hinting at this romance between Doki and Goeun, might as well make it a romcom. I personally oppose this romance subplot because I know it won't be subtle (as it should be for this type of dramas, in my opinion) and because I know that at some point, there will be a damsel in distress situation in which Doki will suddenly realize his feelings or whatever reused plot accessory. Really hope I'm proven wrong there.

I guess you can say the crime tag serves its purpose, as the whole show has so far been about avenging victims of different crimes, but other than that there's really nothing about actually solving crimes, on top of the fact that the way they avenge the victims is not even satisfactory at all like it was in S1 - at least to me -, which is why this show was so appealing with its first season. I would say that the reason why the vengeance isn't even satisfactory is likely because the way they solve everything is based on nonsensical hacking (with very lame "hacking mode" floating screens that, in my opinion, are way too outdated and overused now), nonsensical luck (relying on external and unpredictable conditions that oh so happen to occur at the perfect timing), and nonsensical stages in which they manage to outsmart and/or overpower all the bad guys in the simplest and most mediocre ways.

Also, another thing that I feel is way too overused is the hero background music. I feel like they play it way too much even when no hero situation has happened yet, so when they actually do something hero-like, the music doesn't hit how it should because it's been overplayed too much at that point that you don't feel the 'momentum' anymore.

But anyway, I will still stick to the end of this season because, again, I love Lee Je-hoon and there are things that keep me watching other than him (even if that's the reason I listed at the beginning), and there are still 12 Eps left, so I'm hoping that the show will pick up and live up to S1, at least a bit. But it makes me genuinely upset that this season is so bland because Taxi Driver S1 is really one of the best shows out there, and evidently one of my favorites too, but I have to admit that this season is yet another victim of second seasons that weren't needed and only exist because of fans and viewers' requests.

Fun Mystery Stories

If you watched the first season, the story style is very similar (in other words, it's predictable). That being said, I've enjoyed all the cases that they have covered so far and love that there has been some easter eggs in each one. (spoiler) I especially love how they gave CheunJiHoon from One Dollar Lawyer a special guest appearance in one of the episodes. Loved One Dollar Lawyer so that scene/episode made me very happy.

At the moment, I personally loved season 1 more (but that could be bias).

I'd love to see LeeGiHoon play other types of characters in future dramas. He plays this character so well and it's funny to watch.

Season 2 is as good as Season 1

Season 3 soonnn plsss! ????? Last case not solved! Thank you for the excellent casts and of course Lee Je Hoon ??

Lee Je Hoon's versatile acting is amazingly so dashing and cute, his chemistry with rest of the casts is so good!!! Most part of the eps are real-life cases are an eye-opener and current ??? The drama's format remain consistent with S1, no draggy moments. The director deliberately cut off some fighting scenes to focus action stunts with more important roles.

Spoiler: the last "confession" Pyo Ye-Jin made is abit weird tho~~ Going to miss Kim Do Ki spitting rice!!!!! ??????

An interesting take on justice

I watched both seasons simultaneously and I have to say this drama kept my attention intact.
The best part of this drama is definitely the cast.
Lee Je Hoon as kim Doki was the best part of taxi driver. No one could have done this better than him.
Pyo ye jin as Goeun and her chemistry with Le JeHoon was worth watching. I would like to see them more in season 3.
Special mention to Shin Jae Ha because playing a villain always brings lots of hatred and criticism. Hajun was definitely a villain who brought out hatred, pity, sympathy and disgust. His death was still sad especially his last memories
Lastly the other supporting casts were good and did justice to their roles.
I hope season 3 is officially announced because i can't wait to watch it

Better than season 1

Normally when Kdramas have another season they usually end up being a disappointment, but that's not the case with Taxi Driver. Everything from the plot, to action and comedy were done perfectly. This season had a different dynamic than the first, the cases, although they didn't seem like it, were connected, and the culmination came in the last two episodes. The whole cast did such a fantastic job, especially Lee Je-Hoon who showed what it means to be a versatile actor in this series. Lastly, I just want to say that this is easily one of the best Kdramas of the year so far. Just a high standard drama that I highly recommend.

If you see that S1 is better than S2 you don't know how to watch revenge/action dramas

okay, to start with, I have seen many people comparing the Season 1 and Season 2 together which is very wrong in many ways:
1) " Taxi Driver" is going in a series path that can have at least 5 to 6 seasons! you can't compare each season with the one before it! it should be a continuation of the main point of the drama which is "taking revenge for different people".
2) the term "revenge" and taking revenge companies in Kdrama or any drama world, mainly consist of several situations that the writer and actors make us live it with them and solve it with them! it's naturally to have a lot of cases that are related or not related to each other in the series! which is what Season 2 served us instead of season 1!
3) here comes my most important point of view: season 2 was perfectly developed, written and done. on the contrary of season 1 which only gave us two revenge stories and the rest of the episodes got a little bit boring up to the last few episodes that got a little bit exciting again.
Season 2 got that exciting stories that keeps you attached to your seat and got your eyes glued to the screen waiting to what is going to happen next! that is the excitement that should be present in a revenge/action drama and season 2 served is it just perfectly! I enjoyed the return of "Madam Lim" in this season hahahaha "Wang Tao Tzi" did her so much wrong hahahaha.
I rarely give a 10/10 to dramas but "TAXI DRIVER 2" is definitely one of those rare dramas that got me living inside of it literally and forgetting about the world around me. it's one of dramas that I wished it lasted longer than just 16 episodes, they are really not enough.....
I would not say anything about S2 because every single moment of it is exciting and stressing that I would be spoiling it to you xd
* Actors and Acting skills * :
I came to watch Taxi driver in general for it's genre (as I am a hardcore fan and expert of the action/thriller dramas) I have watched some of the works of the main leads such as Kim Euisung, Jang Hyukjin and Bae Yooram, but the surprise of the series was no one but LEE JEHOON for me !!!!
I haven't watched any of the actor's works before as it seems he only do the romance/drama series; but finally he did "Taxi Driver" so I can discover such a very talented man! He is an ace Thespian! he did more than 10characthers in one drama, and he nailed each one of them!!! I am so in love with his facial expressions and very talented acting skills! wishing he would make more and more action dramas/movies <3
all the other actors did a very great job as well! I am mostly in love with Bae Yooram character (AKA MR.PARK) <3 <3 the taking revenge/working together squads are my favorite and Rainbow squad has become my top favorite action squad <3
finally, I would say that no matter how much I talk about this drama I can't express how perfect and great it is! that I could watch it over and over again! simply put it's A MASTERPIECE in the action/thriller drama world. <3

Yo... Second season is here!!!

Gotta say that the moment the announcement for season two came out I'm overjoyed. Because It's always nice when you'll still be able to enjoy the kind of drama and genres that you like. Have to say tho, when sadly it was announced that Esom wouldn't be returning due to schedules clashing, I was a bit worried. As in, would they retcon the ending on season 1... or could they somehow do a workaround for it? So far, it looked as if they found a solution for it, as in... to have a bit of time skip as well as arrange a reason to explain the reason for Prosecutor Kang's absence. For now, the series was still hovering over the time period in between... which I don't really mind, since it should also be around the time when Hana would still be busy resolving all of the aftermath of the cases in season one. So as long as the team hadn't broken any major big law that require her intervention, things should be fine with me.

We get the return of the original screenwriter, though to be fair, as much as people used to fuss about the change of writers mid-season last time, there wasn't really that obvious shift of tone in the series in terms of plot or quality of production. Aside from the first season getting even darker near the end, of course... though it should be within the original plan. Like I think I remembered hearing that even some of the cast didn't realize the change of writers until near the end. Anyway, so far... season two was starting great. I'll be looking forward to when the plot gets dark again as we get another villain that might be on par with Baek Sungmi, not that we're really sure that she's completely defeated still.

I'm happy to hear the return of the retro soundtrack to the second season because it wouldn't have felt the same if we don't hear the deluxe taxi theme playing while Kim Dogi was taking the taxi out. While I wouldn't say that any particular theme in the series was the standard 'hero' theme (aside from Dogi's own theme track) it's still nice to be treated with such a great soundtrack. I'm actually quite amused that despite season two do have its own new theme songs at play, we still get to hear the songs from the last season popping up in between like 'All Day'.

Mode cérébral off, du divertissement à l'état pur!
