Excellent and for once not predictable
At last a k drama that makes you wonder how it will end. The story of 3 women with very different personalities, all certain that their marriage is forever and end up divorced. I found all the stories interesting and very close to real life. The discussions were very interesting, seeing the point of view of women and men on married life and the longevity of a marriage. The actors are all exceptional, I was amazed by all the texts they need to learn. There is a lot of text in this drama but not one minute did I find it boring. The men are all very handsome and at last, at last not in their twenties. And a season 2, waooh that is a first in k drama too! I loved every minute of it.Was this review helpful to you?
When Men fully embraced the noun ANIMAL.
I did not give this drama a somewhat low rating because it involves cheating, i knew fully well what i was getting into because i read the synopsis and the tagline.I see a lot of the reviews gave low rating just based on the infidelity aspect which i find strange because it was stated in the synopsis and it was tagged as well. Nevertheless, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and write what they liked/disliked.
Although i did not based my rating out of the infidelity tag, that does not mean i agree with it. I am 100% against infidelity. I rated based on how it was written & directed and the delivery and flow sequence of each episode.
** SEASON 1 TELLS THE NARRATIVE OF THE WHY(S) MEN CHEAT.
The drama on a whole was slow, however, it did not start that way. To me, at the beginning it was somewhat fast paced which kept me on edge, But somewhere in the middle it started to get slow, so slow to the point it became exhausting and sickening and i felt that some scenes... well I should say a lot of the scenes were filled with unnecessary dialogues. The dialogues and scenes were so un fitting that i thought they just added it to make the episode an hour long which made some episodes felt like a filler.
I sorta grasps on what the writer was trying to portray/ convey in the eyes of the men but at some point it felt like the writer was trapped and the message could not not be conveyed properly. So it was like a never ending circle.
Aslo, at some point it felt like a 2nd season was an after thought. I say that because of the way it started and the progression just became so stagnant with so many dragged out scenes to make way for the 2nd season. Just imagine watching new episodes weekly but nothing is moving along in the plot line.
So basically the way i see it is that you could start the series from the 10th episode and not miss any important or significant detail and then go back and watch the first for formality. But then again it's just the way i see it, i won't advise to do that though because some people take longer to catch up on things.
I would not categories this as a "bad drama" but in my opinion i find it was missing something. I don't know if substance is the right word, anyway it was missing something. Patience is a virtue and if you don't have patience this drama is definitely not for you.
I know there are good men out there and not all of them cheat, but seeing it and why they do it from their prospective is quite shallow in my humble opinion.
It's a drama i don't see myself rewatching but don't regret i watched. However, if you dislike dramas with infidelity tag just exit now because the entire drama is based around that. To those who are planning or are venturing into this drama bear in mind that you will feel frustrated, disgusted, disappointed, anger/range and all the emotions that makes one want to choke somebody But since there is a 2nd season you will feel that hopefulness of a deserved penalty for the wrong doers.

Fantastic different history
It seems to me a drama of the highest quality. I do not understand why there are so many outraged with the development of the first season if the title of the series is very clear.I love the performances, the dynamics, and how extramarital affairs start from 0 and grow. I think they are very normal situations to happen, and I also like the temporary revelation of the facts, explaining the reasons for each character.
If I think they failed in the decision that the unfaithful are only the men, I would have liked that in one of the couples, the unfaithful had been the woman, perhaps in the least thoughtful, for example Pi Yeong.
Anyway, looking forward to the second season, it is a very entertaining and entertaining drama. Well done.

I think the acting was not really outstanding either. Jeon Soo Kyung was one of the standouts I would say, along with her on-screen daughter, played by Jeon Hye Won (who had THE best scene in the entire run of this series - you'll know it when you see it!). I really despised the acting by the woman playing the mother of the character of Pi Young. Lee Hyo Choon seemed to spend the whole first half crying --- badly. It was super annoying! Most of the others were lackluster at best.
I liked about 3-4 characters in this entire show and pretty much hated everyone else. And it wasn't really a "love to hate" where you enjoy the villain, but still want them to receive their due. I just flat out thought the characters were all despicable. I thought in the beginning that maybe there would be some big twist and maybe things weren't what they seemed. But they were exactly what they seemed or worse. I think the character I hated the most was Ah Mi, played by Song Ji In. Of all the mistresses, she was the worst. And for the mistresses, I hated Song Won (Lee Min Young) the least. My second most hated character was a wife - Hye Rung. I thought she was spoiled and arrogant and cold. While I don't condone cheating in any way, shape, or form I didn't really feel all that sorry for her character. She illicited the least sympathy from me.
And then we come to the character of Dong Mi (Kim Bo Yun)! THAT is a whole bunch of crazy right there! Her character was the most insane. I won't spoil it, but I'm sure you can find someone that has. But she was a creepy bat-crap crazy lady. I'm curious as to where her character is going in the second part.
The music and the cinematography were the best things about this show. They were both really well done - the quality was outstanding. It's just too bad they were wasted on this sort of show.
If you hate cheating, this show will NOT be for you. You may want to give it a chance, but I'd advise against it if you feel really strongly about it not just IRL, but in drama form. While I despise it in real life, I thought I'd give this a chance to see what they did with the characters. As long as the show doesn't glorify the cheating/ cheaters, I felt like maybe I could roll with it. This show has yet to show me where it's taking it, though. The front half is interesting and is where you'll get hooked learning about the wives, but the back half is draggy and pretty much solely about the husbands and the mistresses. Watch at your own peril!

Storyline is lacking
You watch this show and hope for some interesting storyline about marriage, but instead it is a show playing on stereotypical reasons why men cheat, with a dash of blaming the wives because they were lacking in meeting their husband's needs. The possible one positive was the variations of wives - one who gave her whole life to her family and is considered frumpy and uninteresting, the strong, self-centered diva who has a wall build up to protect herself, and the women who seems to have it all but is trying so hard to be perfect so that her husband doesn't stray. I keep fast forwarding to learn more about the wives and their character development because these roles are more interesting than watching how the husbands started the affairs. The lack of communication between the spouses makes the show uninteresting too.I would have preferred to see how the women move forward from the betrayal and not spending the whole season watching the development of the affairs that lack any real connection - pretty young women feeding on a man's need for validation. It would have been more interesting if at least one of the affairs didn't fit the typical mistress mold. The mistresses seem to have no internal conflict about being a mistress ...you would think at least one would ...and would help the viewer to feel torn for their characters. It really does become boring. The best scene was when the daughter tells her father off. As I said before, I started to fast forward through most of show to focus on the wives and how they related to each other, but that has been minimal too. Overall, the script was lacking. The saving grace is the actors' performances.

Epic movie
This movie is so enlightening and every scene is a hit.Cheating is a choice and it takes a great discipline, control and commitment not to have extra-marital affairs.
Marriage is a beautiful institution and full of challenges.
Challenges can be overcomed with compassion, love and understanding.
The actors & actoresses were so great and they made the movie so interesting for me to watch.
The season 2 is filled with so much suspense and emotions
Love doesnt cost a thing !
I'd love to meet new korean friends.

It was okayy!
I didnt like the ending of season 2. How did those three couples end up together. They didn't show how that happened. There should be a season 3. They have to explain how Sa Pi yon is marrying that guy!!!! She was interested in his brother, and she married his brother!!!they didn't even know each other. What the hell just happened?! And where's the kid BADA,??? how can she be with the engineer!! This makes no sense... and how did AMi go w the lawyer! They didn't even know each other. Its messed up..Netflix is so bad at making kdrama endings!! Always have a cliffhanger. Netflix please don't make kdramas. Urgh this suck! The ending is so stupid

Give it a try
I read a some critical reviews of this drama before I started watching and I’m glad I ignored them and watched anyway. The story is a bit over the top, but I found the acting good throughout. And, if you don’t really like one couple’s story, it never lasts that long till it switches to another.
I could see how if you’re young, this may not appeal to you, but if you’ve had some experience with relationships or marriage, and you want to get sucked into a drama, give it a try, you may find yourself hooked. Don’t look for many healthy love stories here though! The relationships are totally messed up, and provide a lesson on how to NOT communicate with your loved ones. But it’s entertaining to watch. It gave me the same feeling as when you might watch a reality show — not necessarily because it’s good, but because watching someone else’s train wreck of a life provides some kind of cathartic entertainment value.
The second season gets better, in my opinion, but maybe that’s also just cause I was so far down this rabbit hole.

Way too slow
the main issue i have with this drama is that the pace is way way too slow. The story doesn't feel very captivating you know the acting doesn't standout even tbh this might be the most disappointing drama i've watched. The cast is decent and it doesn't help that they don't have a major name on there.they talk for way too long i felt like they'd talk me to death at some point they should've quickened the pace a little bit idek how they got to season 2 and i'm hearing they might be season 3 as well. it will be so much pain if the pace stays the same
also they have love in the show wouldn't it have ,made sense to have a couple that genuinely love each other? it would have been a nice contrast to the marriage failures depicted on this show

Disappointing
This series had a such a strong start I binged 12 episodes, alas ...Going in I wasn’t expecting fairy’s and fluffy bunnies as the title and synopsis are an accurate depiction of what to expect.
I initially found the characters and storyline so enthralling I had to keep watching to see where it was all going. It was interesting how the characters were developed and the ‘excuses’ (or lack there-of) the various characters had for their behaviour.
By episode 12 though the story jumped back in time and started dragging interminably and never found its footing again. It was heading for a rating of a solid 9 or possibly 10 from me. I can see what the writers were trying to do here but – they screwed it up big-time adding boring irrelevant fillers and a cliff-hanger ending to allow for a second season.
So much potential all went down the drain. (Bit like the husbands really)

This drama does not deserve the overall rating!
Come on people, this is a story about married life, cheating and struggles of couples. Of course it is not your typical romance drama that makes you feel great. But I think this show has been written quite well, I liked the pacing and the acting and besides the small side plot with Sa Pi Youngs mother (why should I even care, I do not understand why this story fits into the drama) I really think the story lines are interesting!I also like the changes of perspectives and the way the story is told. You slowly get to know each character better and learn about them. For example I liked Boo Hye Ryung in the beginning and judged her husband but in the end even I understood why things happened the way they did.
The audience for this drama should be of a certain age to understand it I think... it's not just about evil husbands cheating on their wives, in my opinion it is about so much more than that. And it is also not a makjang-type kdrama like The Penthouse series... it is much more realistic and with less drama.

Awful
This was a huge disappointment. I am a fan of kdrama but this one misses the Mark on so many levels. It started off promising but than spiraled down into a cesspool of sordidness. Generally kdramas give you something to think about in terms of relationships and challenges. This was so one dimensional. The actors could have phoned their lines in. The crowning point was the daughter of the professor. The attempt to make wrong right failed completely. The only characters I empathizedwith are the wives. Unfortunately their roles were superseded by the husbands and their mistresses. I have seen stories dealing with cheating done much better and in a shorter period of time. This was literally an insult to the sanctity of marriage and to the Korean culture. Was this review helpful to you?
