I love you for you
Such a cute a sweet drama! Im glad this drama didnt take the route of psycho where the main lead was both. I'm glad that he was justing acting like his brother. The male lead has a twin brother but he died so he would act as the younger brother in front of his ill mother. This was his secret that no one knew about. The female lead and male lead were high school classmates. At that time the male lead liked the female lead and even confessed his love through a love letter. Unfortunately that love letter got posted up in the whole school for everyone to see.The female lead is a reporter which she needs to interview the male lead. The male lead acted like his twin brother and helped to her to lie about their marriage to the female lead's mom. Thus creating a co habiting.
Their relationship is pretty cute and believeable. They have a good chemistry together. I liked that the female lead has brains and is smart. She wont give up without a fight. There are some annoying characters but they have little screen time which is good.

This is a short light watch on a Tuesday night where you just turn off your brain & enjoy the ride
(Since this drama is getting more and more attention, this is not just a review but also a (long) guide to clear some things up that I’ve seen in the comments. Hope this can help!)About the drama: Adapted from novel <骗婚总裁:独宠小娇妻> (though I believe there’s not much similar besides keeping the names), this fast-paced, nonsensical, ridiculous short drama is also a cute, cheesy, fluffy drama that might have you wanting for more. It’s got all the goods if these are what you like: fake marriage, roommates, sabotaging second leads, dual identity, etc. If you want like actual substance, this isn’t it—it’s also super short:
18 episodes <15mins each
+ 4 special episodes <5mins each (PPV - 2rmb for all)
Where to watch: (encouraging everyone to watch on MangoTV platforms to support the drama and the young drama team)
MangoTV site/app (eps + bts clips): https://w.mgtv.com/b/413438/15331458.html?fpa=se&lastp=so_result
MangoTV YT: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0PsHrQxhYwTd3TOLmB5ovmVjpZe_yWoQ
MangoTVSparkle YT: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEwMCGv50LfJDGRx-1H6uVPmNiidwHJ59
BTS with eng sub: (this user is updating here): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpro3UcO7RuOtOLHNFZfEmcIlhbSeJGGa
If you come across “episodes” that are more than 15mins long, you’ve found a version that has compiled several episodes into a longer video. I’m assuming in that case, you might find just 4-5 episodes if they’re 40-50 mins each.
About the subs: MangoTV subs are as good as it’s gonna get. DramaCool takes subs from them anyway. The subs on Idol & Romance are a bit horrendous, so I don’t recommend. The BTS clips do not have subs (EDITED: see above), they’re really cute, the director too.
About the reviewer: Started watching because I got intrigued by the trailer. It looked like a hot mess so I signed myself up. Basically, pretty much went in without any expectations, but came out pleasantly surprised and unexpectedly hooked.
Overall thoughts: Nothing too complex. It’s cliche, it's silly, it's hilarious, it’s cheesy, but for some reason surprisingly didn’t find it cringy though I’ve seen a lot of cringy stuff and I get secondhand embarrassment really easily. The male lead Qiao Musheng is a cold character who carries burden to the heart, but through his dual identity Lu Jingnian does he channel his inner child, something he can’t show as Qiao Musheng. Kind of like a puppy. Su Nian, the female lead is independent, a bit feisty, a bit clever - we like her. Because of the nature of such a short drama, some scenes don’t last enough to linger—I just wish there were more scenes, but sometimes the scenes feel cut off—but I feel like the emotion does. Both the actors seem to carry a kind of naturalness, perhaps because Chen Junyu’s character has a bit more range to begin with, I think he stands out a bit more. He has a bit more nuanced facial expressions, especially his eyes, which I think shows potential and has me anticipating his future works. (This seems to be his first work). The dubbing done for Niu Yukun for some reason throws me off a tiny bit. Not much to say about the second leads because this drama is pretty much focused on the leads. As much as I appreciate the cute scenes, I also quite like the emotional ones like Qiao Musheng’s inner turmoil. If this were a longer drama, I'd definitely like to see more of this. Also appreciate the metaphors in here — the fish, the ring, the hair. There’s a conclusion to a major plot line that I felt was a bit unrealistic (funny cos this whole drama is just not too realistic anyway), so this would be my major complaint.
Some of the music (mostly instrumental throughout the drama though)
原來 - Chen Junyu and Niu Yukun (ending theme song)
洒满月光的女孩 - Chen Junyu (piano scene in ep11)
空缺 - DREAM4 (Chen Junyu, Tang Jiaqi)
Fun Fact: This drama originally was to be broadcasted over three weeks every Fri-Sun, but due to high request, the schedule was changed and ended up being aired every day for a week.
Hoping this drama gets a lot of attention, it’s not the best thing out there, but I think it's entertaining and fun. Keeping up with this drama throughout the week it aired was like my happy pill. Definitely will rewatch some time soon.

Interesting Until....
Disclaimer: My review comes from watching mango tv subs which often don't make sense and additional interpretation from visual cues.An unrealistic but cute idea of a guy who avoids his high school crush by impersonating his twin. What follows is a very cute and funny ride until FL finds out the truth. Things I liked in this drama are, The fish metaphor, the interactions of ML and FL's moms, ML and FL's cohabitation scenes, and the escape rooms scenes.
It was really interesting to watch ML switch between two roles of cold guy and cute guy. Sometimes, his acting looks plastic but since it is miniseries and he is cute and hot, it is reasonable. I wanted more of seeing FL in dilemma with two guys because it was hilarious to see her use weird methods to investigate. Things go bad after she finds out the truth.
From ep 13, things don't make sense as there are character inconsistencies with both ML and FL. FL's tantrum-like fight scene felt overdramatic as by this time ML has already made his twin's identity his alter ego. And the 180-degree turn she does when she finds out about the ML mom and the monologue she gives was full-fledged hypocrisy. Whereas for ML, his character becomes a weird amalgamation of his twin's character and his character which makes me wonder "can he smile normally now?" "why is his hair set even in his house?"
Further to this character chaos, there were other issues, like why did ML abandon his company and was working in FL's workplace, what was with the author segment? etc
Honestly, I don't wanna exhaust myself with finding the clarifications for these because it was worth it to watch till ep 13 and forget about whatever happens later.
The production quality was good, and the acting was decent too. When ML's mom was crying, I thought she was laughing, hehe. As for rewatching, romance scenes alone suffice.
~~~~
Bonus: cdrama rants
1. ML is a CEO (not surprising) of an escape room-type game company. As always I can't understand the obsession for a Ceo by media, he is not even a Ceo of a big conglomerate.
2. What was the need for ML to personally go and save his staff from fire when he could have been on-site and he is not a firefighter professional.
3. ML's connections are amazing. How come he gets an instantaneous appointment of the author or is the author his...nevermind I can't with these subs.
DON'T MISS THIS ONE !!
OMG!!! I LOVED THIS SOO MUCH!!!😍🥰😘🤗🤗 and, (to me) what an original idea?!!🤔🙃😎Its not too angsty, which for me, is a huge plus+++ The fl was written reasonably normal.👍 She's got intelligence, and ability to work out most of her problems, except for physical altercations, but she's no push over either! 😉😉
The leads have amazing chemistry 😘🤗and they both are gorgeous!
To me___THIS IS SOO DAM GOOD! (in spite of the auto generated subs) 😏 This should have been a full drama, instead of a web series! This was not perfect, but, for a
web drama, well done, and on par with most full 24 ep dramas! AND SOO MUCH FUN! I almost didn't watch this and I am soo glad I did!😙😙😙😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😙😙🤗🤗🤗💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💗💗💖
ps..
I really hope they remake this into a full drama with original cast and proper subs for every language!!😉
Very sweet
This was a cute storyline and there was very low angst, which I always appreciate. I watched it all in one day, and the time just seemed to fly by. Sweet happy ending, especially at the newsstand.I really appreciated Simon Chen in his role of pretending to be identical twin brothers. I enjoyed watching his demeanor change from very cold to open and friendly. The only downside is it doesn't look like he's currently in anything else I can watch him in! His assistant trying to help him fix his smile so it looked more natural was cute.
The main couple, for the most part, had good chemistry and I found myself smiling a lot.
The acting of some of the ancillary characters was not so great, but luckily most of the time was spent on the main couple. The one thing that I absolutely did not like was all of her drinking, especially after making such a big deal out of the fact that she can't drink. I mean, who goes to try to apologize and get an interview when they are drunk, anyway?!?! And her drunk crying was really irritating and there was entirely too much of it.
Another thing that I really liked was the fact that this was short, especially compared with most other Chinese shows. There wasn't a lot of time-wasting filler, which made the experience enjoyable.
Lacked in story/acting but I would watch again.
Started out not so great but episodes 5-7 were the best and I felt were acted out the best.Storyline - the synopsis was a bit misleading where the, “they both have bad reactions to alcohol so they avoid it”. It did not seem well written or acted and their “reactions” seemed like any normal peoples reactions to it. Also, how does the FL “avoid drinking” when you clearly see her drinking on her own and so on. It was a bit misleading. That being said…
It was an interesting and different storyline from most of the CDramas (and web dramas). I think that some parts were lacking in both script and acting. It did not run as smooth as it could have. Parts seemed to be a bit chopped off. For instance… episode one, their so called bad reaction to alcohol landed them in bed together and then nothing after that. Like it was not really meant to be there but they threw it in on a whim. It was not needed unless they were going to use it as someone caught them and made them marry etc… But nope they moved on and acted like it did not happen. I was a tad bit stumped. I could pick the drama apart but I am not going to because I did actually like the drama even with all the flaws.
I really liked that the FL did not back off on the mother when she found out what was really going on. She stood up to her and told her she needed to stop treating her living son like her dead son and let him live his life as himself and love him for who he is. It was one of the best scenes emotion wise.
Acting/Cast - I liked the cast. Sometimes I think the ML needed a bit of loosening up. He did not play both parts as smooth as I would have liked, especially transitioning from one brother the the other. The FL… sigh… the crying. Lol it was a bit much haha (my husband kept looking at me funny when she cried lol). But she was also the same in acting skills.
Rewatch - Ya, I more than likely would. Maybe not as much as I would my other CDrama favorites. But I would watch it again.
7/10
it's a good drama, but it lacked more development and continuation of the story, there wasn't anything else happening either right away a 7.0/10... it wasn't bad but it wasn't that good.Was this review helpful to you?
In linea di massima l'idea per una serie non certo originale ma potenzialmente piacevole c'è. Il problema è lo sviluppo, che nel concreto risulta frettoloso e superficiale: i passaggi non sono sempre lineari, in alcuni casi le forzature sono davvero palesi, senza un grande sforzo a sorreggere l'impalcatura della sceneggiatura, che definirei per l'appunto traballante.
Diciamo che l'idea era anche graziosa, ma il risultato lascia un po' a desiderare.
Mini drama più carino del aspettativa.
Un drama corto forse troppo corto per fare una storia più completa.Però per essere così corta e abbastanza anche così.La storia non è proprio originale,lui si finge suo fratello ma poi si innamora e le cose si complicano.Il matrimonio forzato e la convivenza che porta a non poter più fare a meno uno del altro e che alla fine fa perdonare anche un inganno simile,già visto e rivisto ma a me è piaciuta comunque per come è stata raccontata questa storia.I due attori molto carini e bellissima coppia insieme.
Non sarebbe proprio tra i drama cinesi assolutamente da vedere ma comunque è un piacevole passatempo.
