I liked the two alternative endings!
My favorite, surprisingly, is the one where they do not end up studying in the same city. The way Chen Zihao's emotions show on his face when talking with Yang Yuhang on the phone, they things that are said when both of them recall their moments together, I think this version is the most beautiful. I think I liked this ending even better than the actual main 2 episodes. The character's emotions are more tangible and it's more emotional.I'm glad I understand chinese, so that I could watch these two alternative endings, they really do give a different feeling to the overall experience of this mini story.
