Just like Cal It What You Want, War of Y will explore the dark sides of the entertainment industry, especially the BL industry. Both series look at shipping (especially when actors are straight), relationships that form from working together, and corrupt talent agencies and managers.

Both of these messy and explicit BL dramas explore the dark side of some jobs and the various things people will do in order to succeed and get what they want. They also have the same producer and screenwriter, making for a similar viewing experience.

What I love is that both series dig deep into the behind scenes of the BL industry. War of Y looks at multiple views, from managers fighting for more fame and fortune for their clients to real relationships actors have that could potentially ruin the ships they have with their onscreen partners. Lovely Writer takes the premise of BL writer and one half of a shipped couple who fall in love, not by coincidence but because they know each other from the time they were young.

A deeper and darker take on relationships in the entertainment industry.
If you are interested in seeing more of the type of struggles that could be faced where it doesn't always work out then War of Y is for you.
