An excellent wrap-up to the prequel's cliffhanger, no less impressive than Hollywood's best sellers.
If you want a good story and character development, watch a kdrama. This movie's all about one thing and that is brainless spectacle and comedy, with technical feats that prove Korean cinema can make movies just as action packed as American titans, a large part of why I had to watch how far we could go. Tricky camera angles, seamless CGI integration, no shortage of stunts and total disregard for any historical accuracy or scientific justification whatsoever. The protagonist's sword in this looks like an oversized Egyptian khopesh lol. While the sequel does give you enough to know as a standalone movie, I highly recommend watching Alienoid 1 first if you haven't already, because to be frank these two films are basically one movie split in half. You miss out on half the cool stuff you're being sold if you don't bother with the prequel, and the cruelty of the cliffhanger of the first is struck down for good with the absolute conclusion of the sequel.
This movie is also recommended to watch with children if you have any to watch them with, and although there is a body horror element with the aliens doing their thing, the films totally omit the gross outs of juvenile humor, none of the violence revels in gore for shock value, and the only person who's going to get offended by the content of the movie is the kind of person who demands realism and depth in a quick flick about time travel alien busting with sword and sorcery.
Only thing I'm disappointed with is that the cool robotic suit of armor is underused in both films, it's like if Iron Man had to save on batteries.

Alien + Time Travel = Why not?
I really love this one- it's so much better than the 1st part, although we kinda need the 1st part to build up to where we are. This one is more lighthearted, funny, action packed and faster pacing. I love the combination of sorcery and science, past and future, young and old, and everything in between
More than one plot twists and its real good. It's also touching in the end, got me in tears.
I love the casts too- like everyone of them did really well and play very important part
I become a fan of Kim Woo Bin after this too! Highly recommend part 2!

Just more boring nonsense.
This is just the second half. It's equally bad and frustrating, but on top of that it barely feels like a movie - because it's just a second half of one.The taoist wizard stuff is great, love that. The actors are good, characters are fun.
All the alien stuff is awful, nonsensical, ugly CG slop.
Still a massive disappointment.

The much-awaited conclusion to a masterpiece
It was very entertaining, exciting and really enjoyable. The movie is very action-packed. Though, the sequel had its downs, still, it was able to wrap-up the two huge movies together. The story was not as perfect as the first one. Maybe because the first one ended at a very high note and a huge revelation. This one immediately started from a recap and then the repercussions from the first movie. New characters were introduced in this one, however they were weaker characters than those who were introduced in the first one. The story picks up again when Mu reuk and Lee An met again. I actually find the chemistry between these two characters the best in the movie. The idea that Lee An softens and able to show care to Mu Reuk when she learned he was her long-lost childhood friend (very Kdrama). Then, the BIG PLOT TWIST happens. And, this is where everything becomes exciting again. The huge action-sequences were well-choreographed. All the characters fighting as one against the big bad to save the world, Whoo! I can say this can be at par with the Hollywood's action movies. The movie ended with a perfect conclusion for the two large masterpieces.
In the end, I still recommend this movie. I love Mu Reuk, he's funny, quirky, loyal and very lovable. And the BIG PLOT TWIST was VERY shocking. You thought you already knew what was happening just because you watched the first one, NO YOU WERE WRONG. Lol.

The questions has been answered
The long wait is over, the sequel movie is here to slay. Our narrow escape has been solved our agony in waiting four our curiosity has finally come to an end. Some say that the first sequel is better but for me its way more better than the first one. The all star cast makes it more beautiful plus its special effects are very stunning. The story continues as a matter of fact it has a successful ending.I like the time travel effect which is very relevant to the story. I nevert expect it biggest plot twist all along I know the monster living inside the body is Mu Reuk infact Thunder used her body to save Yi An. The monter is living inside Yi An"s body for a long time.
I love to see Kim Woo Bind and Ryu Yun Jeol in one frame two of the hot oppas are here. I like their comedic side of characters here. They also show their heroic stunts in this movie.
All in all this movie really gives a good vibes, I can she the iconic ending wherein they won their fight against the bad guy.
I love the ending wherein. Mu Reuk follows his heart desires and go to Yi An's world.

I think I was too kind giving pt1 a 10, tho Kim taeri is a certified 10 every timeThis was like a tv show that was cut into two seasons with a year gap, the story continues right where it left off but the memories were hazy, I remember the events but not the plot
My mom also watched pt1 I think? I think I was working and I made her watch. it wasn’t a watch with me so she didn’t remember it well
I feel like, acting and visuals were 10/10, the mix of time travel, historical times, and aliens was cool, but the characters lacked much depth and presence, everything was too convenient to wrap up the story from the start
It’d would’ve been better as a tv show with a bit more scenes at the end
The plot “twist” of the evil one being in her and the robot dad giving his powers to ml then thunder being the catguys was nice
But it didn’t give much time for character exploration, everything just fell into place to make the last fight
Mom wanted to see how he’d go back to her? he got the taxi part but how will he know where she is?
And it’s kinda sad, she lost her childhood in the future and she’s back to her present as an adult and lost her dad/uncle dad?
But atleast ml could go to her?

The Time is Now
The first part of the movie was a little better than this sequel, but I'm glad I have now seen the story to the end. The plot combines past and present well and provides a satisfying conclusion to this complicated but entertaining sf adventure. Everything somehow falls into place. One thing that bothered me while watching was the emphasis on comedy. The film uses every scene and every situation for some stupid jokes. There is one joke on a treadmill that was so stupid that I had to laugh, but otherwise the goofy jokes were just annoying. I also think that the screenwriters were sloppy because the plot flows somewhat forcedly from one event to another without a sufficiently logical sequence.
The special effects are great, the fights are very good, the characters are charismatic. There are a lot of details that make the film attractive, so I spent a fun evening with Alienoid 2 but I still have the impression that the film could have been much better and more dramatic in terms of atmosphere if it had taken itself a little more seriously.

Was this review helpful to you?
