Oh my god, It's so adorable
I was not expecting that this would be sooo good. It's a fluffy story, not something so special and hyper-creative, but it's SOO GOOD.I laughed, I cried, I smiled, OMG, so many emotions. I started this series bcs I was feeling a little down and I wanted something little and funny to have some fun, and it was a very good choice.
I'm looking forward to the second season!
And the acting was INSANE the Choco was SO CHOCO SO DOG and Milk WAS SO CAT. They are insanely good?? Fr I'm shocked. And the secondary couple chemistry was INSANE, kinda better than the main couple
It's not a deep series, it's silly, funny, and very short. It's fun! Align your expectations and you will like it very much.

Not what I expected
As always, everything is my own opinion and not intended to offend or upset anyone. (Let's be honest, I'm just rambling, really.)Initially, the plot of this show sounded a little weird to me - a boy falls in love with the human reincarnation of his childhood dog? That just seemed a little weird to me, if I'm honest. HOWEVER, I loved this show so much. I cried. I laughed. I squeed with joy and cheered on th humans falling in love with a human!dog and human!cat. I reached a point where I didn't care if it was weird, I needed these characters to fall in love and live happily ever after.
Of course, that isn't exactly how things went, but you know what? It worked.
Something that I really liked about this series was that it wasn't just a simple reincarnation - Choco and Milk just missed their human so much that they found away to come back to help him deal with his depression and they just happened to do it as humans this time. I thought that was a really cool concept, especially when it's shown that this isn't actually reincarnation because they weren't reborn, they were just given an alloted time. When they had to go back to Heaven, I sobbed my little heart out; the fact that it was only words on the screen describing how they just sat together as Choco cried because he wanted to be with Jung Woo...oh gosh, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I also really liked the idea of them finding a way to keep coming back, so they could still have lives.
Kim Seong Hyuk as Milk was fantastic - he really managed to pull off the cat-like behaviour without it coming across as rude or too much, and I honestly cannot wait to see him on screen in more. He had amazing chemistry with Park Seung Bin, and I loved watching Milk get confused and annoyed at the fact he was falling in love with Uncle. Lee Jae Bin as Choco was so cute I think I got a cavity; I truly believed this was a human puppy, without it being uncomfortable or over the top. Go Ho Jung was fantastic as Jung Woo, and despite the length of the episodes, he really managed to showcase his skills.
Over all, my only issue with the series is it was too short for my liking - I'd have loved longer episodes, but I feel like that's how we all feel when it comes to Korean BLs, they're always too short. I would absolutely love a second season, because it felt like the story was only getting started.

Another Great BL From Strongberry
Before watching this series, I'd seen a few of Strongberry's short BL movies which always impressed me because of how much they could do in a short time. I was introduced to great chemistry between actors that even some full-length BL series couldn't pull off. When I found out Strongberry would do a series this time I was excited to see what they could do using more to work with. I can say I was not disappointed! With this strange but interesting and funny plot, I saw that chemistry between the actors again. What stuck out to me was the portrayal of the roles of a cat and dog. I couldn't stop praising the acting while watching the new episodes in the mornings. I also really appreciated the music and fun theme song in the intro and outro of each episode. All actors, editors, and staff did a great job in the production of Choco Milk Shake! Was this review helpful to you?

How Even...
Overall: 8.5/10Never in my life did I think I would ever root for a person and his dog but.... here we are lol. The things this series did for my soul were unimaginable. I got so sad in the episode they left, that I had to take a few days before coming back for the last episode.
The acting was on point, the chemistry was chemistrying and let's not even talk about the uniqueness of the story and the characters. This is a really peculiar premise and I initially wasn't sure what would come of it; but I am pleasantly surprised with how this turned out. Perfect sweetness and fluff that I needed to heal my soul.
But I have to say, I was surprised about the 2nd season that was announced. This seemed like a good place to end the series and while I would love to see more of the characters, I'm scared it would get repetitive and take away from the glory of the first season. But I have faith - I mean season 1 was this good, they can't completely disappoint with season 2 right? I really hope this wasn't just a ploy to drag out the hype they received from the first season and that they end up doing it justice.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this and I'm definitely gonna jump aboard for season 2 and I'm lowkey looking forward to more...

My new magic word is strongberry....Thanks for the nicest Series ever!
What a beautiful, fresh story from Korea!I've really been watching a lot of BL series lately and I'm always amazed at what you can discover!
This is a very simply made series with talented actors who really get into their "characters" very well;) The comedy and tragedy come across naturally and will probably make even the most die-hard series viewers laugh. Also the never missing plot lines, like the mouth wiping (which annoys me personally) suddenly become very funny because of the background of the story.
My personal minus: I don't like the format with the short mini-episodes, I hope we can enjoy the series as a film later!
In the meantime I look at all the other works by stronberry and I'm thrilled!

Cute and feel-good, but also kind of empty
I have enjoyed multiple short films from Strongberry so far, so I was pretty excited when I first heard that they would finally release a longer series. All their series can be very sweet, funny, or sentimental, and they're all excellent queer representation, so I was looking forward to this one.I can say that I enjoyed it, but also felt unsatisfied with the story. There is some plot (more like the skeleton of a plot) in how Choco and Milk managed to come back to Jungwoo as humans, and there are also vague hints at how Jungwoo lived his life during their absence, but other than that it's 100% slice of life, without much happening. There is no major event and no character development whatsoever. I was hoping to see Choco and Milk face the many aspects of living their lives as humans, although I also understand why they didn't feel the need to since they're Jungwoo's pets.
The actors were all very good, especially Choco and Milk, whose behavior really mirrored that of a dog and a cat perfectly. I'd say that the show is mostly centered around that and the dynamics between them, Jungwoo, and Jungwoo's boss, and it shows them in a very straightforward way.
I felt a little disappointed in the lack of a solid plot for the story, but the overall atmosphere of the series and the acting made up for it. If you're looking for something cute that isn't hard to follow, this might be for you.

I was good but....
The good stuff first..all 4 actor leads were very good and likeable in thier charcter presentations. Choco and Milk did a great job being a human version of a dog and cat. Milk and Uncle definetly had great chemistry and were engaged in thier charcter presentations and were beleivable. Jungwoo and Choco was a bit much to have a pet come back as a human and then turn into a lover....I got the remorse and the emotion of the story in the begining but it somehow got lost. I just didn;t see teh transition, or a reason for the transition. Jungwoo seemed to be accepting of them returning and never coming back. That heped my accepting the pet turning into lover "ick" factor. Anyway, Iwould have been better off with Ep10 as the edning. Now I'm sure there will be a season II which maybe something I just have to get over becasue I do like all of the charcaters and the actors. Happy endings are always better, but this one left me confused and having more questions that did not get answered. Was this review helpful to you?
cute and bittersweet
As someone who had cats and dogs and they are all in heaven now I really was feeling it on another level since it is a story of a cat and dog returning to their owner, it is beautiful story and I often cried because I could feel the connection between them. I just wish they showed us more of a backstory of them but still I really loved this and I would recommend. The actors potrayed their characters flawlessly, I could see the typical cat behavior in Milk and the cute puppiness in Choco so easily, they did really good job on this.

A very unique plot but.....
Ok, i must admit that this story is so cute, i liked all the characters: Jungwoo was so real, i felt his anger, his sadness and also his happiness; Choco and Milk represent a real “dog person” and “cat person”. About the uncle .. I do n't know what to say, he own a cafè, he 's flirty but it 's also a good person who gave work to his nephew. So it's all beautiful but there's a BUT! Choco were a dog, Milk were a cat.. why those love stories? I would have rated this higher but the fact that choco and milk were animals upsets me a bit..I liked the theme of reincarnation but, as i said, this time is a little bit different.

Purrfection that got my tail wagging!
This is the most cute, heartwarming, funny, adorable, stupid, heartbreaking show I've watched in a long time.Jungwoo, a lonely guy living an empty life, comes home one night to find two stunningly beautiful men on his doorstep who are none other than reincarnations of his beloved pets from childhood - Choco, a Maltese puppy, and Milk, a stray cat.
Both Choco and Milk do amazing jobs at encapsulating the pets' characteristics, with Choco following Jungwoo everywhere he goes and embodying the kind of boundless, unconditional love that only a dog can give, and Milk spending most of his time lying on the sofa or batting away any hands that try to touch him. The only other character is Jungwoo's uncle who runs the cafe that Jungwoo works at and where they all spend a lot of time during the series. There's also great development from Choco and Milk as they begin to embrace their humanity which sees their innocent love take on more romantic characteristics.
The story is beautifully told and well acted by all involved. I laughed, I cried, I awwwed, I fell in love with Choco. I can't recommend this highly enough and I can't wait for season 2!

Beautiful, Wholesome, Charming and Sweet
I don't even know how to explain how beautiful this series is, I don't have an explanation either, I just think this is one of the most charming and wholesome series I have seen in a while.EP 10 - Made me extremely sad, but also it felt strangely comforting. The fact that they had the little excerpt about Choco in heaven but then we saw clips of there journey together.
Jungwoo & Choco - These two need another wholesome series together, their chemistry is one of the best ive seen in a while. Choco's buff tall body matched Jungwoo small self so perfectly. They were made to act together
Uncle & Milk - Even though we didn't get much from these two, everything they shared was beautiful. Milk was confused on his feelings for Uncle because he had came back for Jungwoo but found love in the process was just photography. They also had extremely good chemistry together and I hope to see them in more
Overall - The episodes were so short, I really could've had them easily be 40 ish minutes, and not got bored or tired with them. With Season 2 (Hopefully soon) coming, I hope they make it has wholesome and sweet as the first episode. I also hope the EPs can be a little bit longer

Not to be overthought!
Ok.. so your dog and cat come back to life as humans.. don't over think this bit.. but if you do, it is a bit weird to have any romantic elements between a dog and its owner.. if I kept thinking about this the story wouldn't have worked for me. So just imagine it's boy meets boy and falls in love :-)Loved the cute puppy eyes and cat.. 'uh.. you're so disgusting' stares.. actors played their parts very well. Definitely time to see all these young actors in more films,. especially the gorgeous feline Kim Seong Hyuk... let's get him in some major films. (He certainly got my heart racing in this production - the cat that got the cream :-)
Good series to binge watch.
