STOP COMPARING THIS TO SEASON 1
You need to understand that every drama has it's own place....I know, we all have our own opinions on what we like or not, but one thing we can all do is, not compare stuff...I don't have a lot to say besides this,
but I wanna talk about the MOST AMAZING cameos this drama is offering...Every single episode had me like "?Them too!!!!!????"....
The cases in this drama are interesting in a sense that, they're not about money now, they're about REVENGE...and that makes all the cases interconnected... I find that super interesting but I've read comments of people not liking this concept....
Overall, if you wanna see our fantastic cast of Player get revenge from the bad guys, this drama is for you....

Criminally Underrated and Overhated
Player season 2 gets so many unnecessary hate when it's a decent drama at max, i understand that we were frustrated that Krystal is gone for good, and let's accept that ffs.The villains was so leveled up, the cameos were unexpected, and the acting was above average. The storyline didn't hit that much but it was still decent.OST was rocking tho.
I mean let's be honest this was action packed and it will keep you watching, but yes it's not that emotionally attractive like in the s1 but that's the point, they're both different seasons.
Still a must watch tbh

Super satisfied with the ending!
S3 please! Gosh, I really love the casts, especially Seung-heon! He is so charming and captivating- perfect for the role.I also love the new FL, Soo Min- one of those very pleasant FL, really enjoy having her as well as the new director
I love the expansion of the plot from S1 and most importantly, the story for S2 is very tightly wrapped up. Well done.
I really enjoy how all cases are linked to a bigger case which kept me watching till the end.
There isn't much loose end at all, really good plot, amazing execution and entertaining.
It also has lots of amazing cameo as happy surprise. One of crowd favourite (mine too) is Lee Soo Hyuk! My favourite villain here.
I really love it and can't wait for S3!

Just like those who have already reviewed this drama, there's most likely going to be comparisons between the first and second season.I ended up stumbling upon the fact that there was going to be a part two by accident. If I hadn't stumbled upon that information I would've never known part two ever existed.
Once I found out there was going to be a season 2 I re-watched the first season over so I could familiarize myself with the cast and refresh my memory about what part one was about since it's been a few years since I seen the first one.
I'm glad I re-watched season 1 over because it sort of picked up where it left off: the gang escaping prison in season 1 and becoming wanted felons in season 2. I would've been confused about that part if I hadn't re-watched the first.
I would recommend those who haven't seen the first season in a while to re-watch that because season 2 started off all over the place. It was confusing to watch. What season 2 was all about became clearer close to the end of the episodes. I don't know why they did it the way they did it. It almost made me drop the whole thing altogether. I usually watch the first 5 episodes of Korean dramas to see if it's something I would finish and was going to drop this but I stuck it out.
If they would've made the ending for the beginning I think it would've panned out a lot better than how it started. It's probably why viewers started comparing season 1 to season 2. I was about to do the same but I realized by episode 3 part two was going to be a lot different from the first. Each episode was different but it had one main goal-get rid of the bad guys.
I would say give this season a chance. It held up on it's own and don't need to be compared to season 1. By like the 7the episode or so it will make sense. I also got a gist that it may be a season 3. We'll see.

An entertaining and fun ride!
I was very doubtful if Player 2 would be any good because there had been a 6-year gap between the seasons. But I'm glad I watched it because I enjoyed every second of the drama!!The new characters are all very memorable and well acted! I really liked Director Hwang :D I also feel like the individual cases were more interesting and better written, when compared to the first season.
The pacing is fast and there is no boring moments at all! The planning and background story bits are very short, most times it's just straight into the action.
I really love these types of dramas/shows/movies, and I don't really care about plot holes or unrealistic moments in them. I can just turn off my brain and enjoy for 60-120 minutes :D
However, I have to say that I had the same issue with this season as the first season: The individual cases are great, but the overarching plot and the big villain are just meh. The main villain in Player 2 also is almost identical to the one in Player 1. I would have enjoyed this drama more if the overarching plot was more interesting and the main villain wasn't the most generic and boring, comically evil guy we all have seen 1000 times in movies and dramas before. I really hope this can be improved if Player gets a third season.
---------
SUMMARY: An entertaining ride full of action, twists, and meticulous twists. Player 2 has memorable and fun characters who you want to see even more after the season ends. And MAN I want more seasons to this, both Player and Taxi Driver are dramas that I could watch 100 seasons of, and not get bored. Please watch The Player 2!!!

OK, SHALL WE MOVE ON?
You know that drama that's just okay and only entertains because it has a good premise and good characters, that's the example of this drama, nothing much beyond that, if there's a third season I'll watch it, if not, it's okay with me.
The highlight of this drama were the special guest appearances throughout the drama and I think that was the high point that brought dynamism by creating villains every two episodes to reach the conclusion of the story.
Another thing worth highlighting is the well-executed text.

A fun ride
I don't get why people are hating on this season. It's twisty and fast-paced and maintains the wry, snarky vibe of S1. The characters--with two excellent additions--knew their places and felt comfortable in their roles. And I personally thought the Krystal storyline added some emotional resonance that was missing in S1.If you're looking for soul-shaking feelings and deep philosophical quagmires, this is not your drama. But if you want some comic book action where the good guys come out on top, and some clever one-upping schemes that aren't entirely predictable then you'll enjoy this.

Waste of Time
If you watched the first season, you already know why you don't want to watch this.Even the Korean ratings have dropped and they're all complaining that season 1 is better, and it's only the fans of the cast that are screaming "this show is great!" on MDL.
Every aspect of this season pales in comparison to season 1, even the few action scenes and it's pacing is terrible.
It's boring
