Short and Sweet!
This was a cute short film. Nothing too complicated and something that felt sweet. It was a treat!I was pleasantly surprised by the behind-the-scenes part of the story. Personally, I really like when a show helps us get a sense of what someone's job is actually like, so that was a nice bonus for me. All the different short shots helped tell two different stories and I thought was a good use of screen time.
Sometimes i feel like GL is written by people who wish they were writing longer stories (which I totally get), but this felt like it was written by someone who cared about making the story work properly with its length. As a big fan of short-length projects, I really appreciate when directors and writers get together like this and make something that works with the length. ^_^

So sweet, so sweet, so sweet....
Finally a cute, fun GL, ok short and probably a commercial in disguise as a film this was both sweet, entertaining, fluffy.. pretty much all the components of a rom com in 10 short minutes. This little love on set, hot and cold type of deal was highly entertaining and just enough to grab my attention.I am impressed!
Though I did find the dubbing a bit off and annoying I would gladly watch this plot turned in to a full length drama too... But who am I kidding, that aint gonna happen any time soon.

SIMPLY FLUFF
This is so adorable; I totally love their ship, and the way they slide the product into this story that they're advertising is smooth. It is totally recommendable if you are looking for a short, nice story about WLW. How can both of them be so pretty? They look surreal. And the way Lin Yiren (Qi Xia Xia) looks at Chu Chu (Zhi Yue) is so lovely. Where can I find my own Lin Yiren? Now I want to watch Legend of the Green Plum even though it is not real. :< Anyway, I give this a 6/10. Even though it looks more like a commercial than a drama, it is still fun to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
An ad that's better than some dramas
Seriously, although this was an ad for a period underwear, it had a strong story, amazing chemistry between the two actresses, and if I didn't know what it was an ad, I would have thought that it was an actual drama with a product placement taking place.Oh, how I wish the drama "Legend of the Green Plum" which the two female leads were filming was real! It looked so great, I would have definitely watched that too in an instant.
But how did this get past the censorship? It's a literal miracle! Especially with the scene involving a rather intimate scene from a very well-known sapphic movie!
Last but not least I want to say that I really like how periods are getting normalized and how in more wlw media nowadays, the FLs are shown taking care of each other when one of them menstruates. I love to see that.
Overall, a 9/10 rating, very cute and sweet and worth rewatching for sure!

A promise of a gl in an ad
Your Ship Is Real gets the credit to be a promise of a gl. I gather that China is no more favourable to GLs as it is to BLs.The actresses are cute and have a correct chemistry. The scenes from the historical drama are well filmed and their interactions are fun to watch. I would like to watch the full version of that drama (if it was a short drama!). Outside drama they keep circling around each other, trying to figure out what is going on between them: there are meaningful glances and hesitant touches which were cute and sweet!
But this is an ad and you need to keep that in mind: so we get choppy storytelling, choppy editing, choppy music, choppy watch experience. It is only 10 min long but I was bored after 2 min because of all the choppiness! The story was difficult to follow because it kept jumping from historical fiction to ad to something in between! And those jumps were not smooth! I guess you cannot do much in this short time!
This drama special is too long to be a good ad and too badly produced for a movie. But kudos, nevertheless, since it was made in China and we all know how brutal the censorship is there!
