In both Movies,
A friend gets sick and doesn't want to die without dating ever . And their 2 other friends tries to help the sick friend to achieve his last wish .

Both the dramas is focused on a child with leukemia and on his efforts to not let people around them worry.

Quite same plot, but the action is different. Maybe because I'll Die Soon is about a middle-aged man that want to live every day like is the last one, while My Friend Is Still Alive is about a high school kid that wants to die without regrets.

Same theme of school age kid attending school despite his limited time to be alive. However, My Friend is Still Alive has some humor in it that makes it feel less serious than Goodbye Summer.
