Get Bored & Annoyed - What a Waste?!!
Wow! Ahn first return after cheating scandal & divorce is to fight to marry some dude's ex and become father to his child by getting his whole abnoxious family bully the guy to no end! 50 episodes for this!!!! The extended families are over bearing; the story lines are annoying and unnecessary! The script is badly written and badly delivered! Actors literary stand next to each other, recite what they memorized as if filming occurs during rehearsal while they still have scripts in their hands. The rooms are so staged as if a big wearhouse divided into rooms where scenes occur! Ahn who used to be a model is now fat and his wardrobe is sad, his face is swallen, and the female actress is short and suffering from anorexia rather than being pregnant! The contrast in visuals look like a fat tall male obsessing over a short starved middle age woman! The side stories literary fall to the side and remain unfinished by the end of 50 episodes! The best thing about the drama is the ex-boyfriend and the father of the child. He literary saved 20 episodes. He is handsome, energetic, has great delivery despite the poorly written script. He needs to get more main roles! Anyhow, there are numerous Chinese and Korean dramas that are worth watching. Skip this one and you won't miss much! Was this review helpful to you?

Dropped....
To think that it took me to reach the 26th episode before finally giving up on this drama. The first 2 episodes had shown such promise that I was really looking forward to the subsequent ones. But over time, the storyline just fell flatter than ever. The ML and FL do not have any chemistry with each other; that I would go so far as to say that this is a mismatched pairing. The second leads are also irritating beyond belief!
Added to this the minor stories of the FL's uncle, brother, the in-laws etc...... I just kept on fast forwarding the episodes every time.
Finally came to my senses and dropped it. Sadly, this is the ML's comeback drama and yet, if that is the limit of his acting skills, I doubt I would watch anything of his again. The FL???? well, not the typical face of an FL and seriously, half the story already and her pregnancy is still not showing?????

Sometimes shorter is better
This actually began nicely - I was intrigued by the story and looking forward to seeing what came next. Sometime around episode 20 everything began getting ridiculous, and then for the next 20 episodes or so there was nothing happening at all, just week after week of the same ridiculous things padded by multiple flashbacks of things that had happened minutes before. Then all of a sudden the writers realized they had to actually wrap up all these dangling plots from 20 episodes ago, and the last 6 or so episodes have things happening at breakneck speed. Unfortunately the resolutions to most plotlines were generally absurd. I've watched disaster movies that had more believable storylines. There are genuinely funny and sweet moments throughout, even in the worst episodes there were always scenes that made me laugh. In the end, though, the main reason I wanted to keep watching was to see exactly how unbelievably ludicrous the plot would finally end up.
The highlight of the soap is absolutely the grandmother, both in acting and writing. She was fantastic both being cantankerous and when her attitude changed. The best part was that this happened naturally over the course of many episodes rather than a sudden mood-swing as happened with every other character in the show.
Production-wise, the costuming was generally dreadful, and the sets often seemed like it was just some furniture placed in front of a green screen because they had no depth.
All the same, I watched all 50 episodes. I just think this would have been better served a 16 episode drama than has a 50 episode soap.

a Mexican novel
I didn't think i would get this far but the drama got me, episode 42 is the real twist and now I feel the kdrama turned interesting ? the episodes of the 30s considered it too dramatic that could have been summarized; finally they got married ? sometimes I wonder if producers got inspired in Mexican novels because the ilogic and super drama, I even watched the episodes pressing 10 seconds forward, but my curiosity won everytime, and now I know I'll be waiting patiently to next episode until the end?Was this review helpful to you?

Ex of and ex with an ex??♀️
It’s a typical soap style drama. Soap rides are very unpredictable but not, if that makes sense. Meaning you know it’s going to be an insane drama but you never know what level of sanity they will choose. It is a cute love story that has trial and tribulations with family drama. You have a two crazy exes obsessed with their exes which happens to be each other’s exes or something like that. (See what I mean) Soaps are wild and ridiculously funny and somewhat enjoyable. The entire family’s relationship with make you very angry but in development it shifts and that will take the frown from your face. If there is one thing I enjoyed with some characters it is and will be there character development.
Rewatch value: I would probably skim through this again one day years from now.
OST: Fitting for this show.
Cast: Besides a few overacting moments they are pretty decent actors aside from the veterans who are more skilled.
Happy Viewing!

soap that I watched all summer and actually finished
you know.. supringly I have been keeping up with this drama. I initially watched because of the promos and because I missed Ahn Jae Hyun. I have seen him in Cinderella and the Four Knights and he was a class 1 jerk in that. In this drama he is such a swoon worthy man to me. I love to see actors/actresses completely nail different rolls. This roll is a pretty big task also, considering this drama is 50 episodes long. The only other long dramas I have seen are the Chinese dramas. Now its a lot of time to put into something. I am honestly really enjoying watching this drama weekly though. It is my weekend drama. I am enjoying it way more than I should also.
I am giving this drama an easier time because of its length and because it is more of a sitcom to me.. in the sense that it has remade sets and reoccurring characters. I get the complaints people have and I have them also. Every single gripe I have towards this drama only makes it more interesting for me. I really hate some characters and find most of the situations that the character are in so laughable and absurd. It is so entertaining to me. It is really entertaining. It is honestly really fun to just sit and laugh at how stupid someone is, or how villainous, or why someone cares about something etc.
So you've got Yeon Doo, who I like a lot. I like her and Tae Kyung. They are just both good people and their development as partners is so sweet. Although the reason why they are together is hard for me to pinpoint.. I've just had to accept it as it is. It's the plot, I don't understand some of it, but still I'm interested because of the steps they've made. It has to do with the length that I end up caring or really hating certain characters. I've invested a lot of time into it so it makes sense that I would care. Props to the drama for that. Props that I remember all the characters also.
I really enjoy the family dynamics, and how some are wholesome but most are so toxic. That may sound bad of me.. but it's drama.. it's entertainment.. its soapy... and I love it. Se Jin is one of the worst characters I have ever seen, not only from a writing standpoint, but as a person. She is so horrible that I like just watching her try and wrap Tae Kyung around her finger and fails so hard. Why does she like him so much? Why is she so bitter? Why were they going to get married in the first place?!?!?! It's so funny. I don't know if the drama wants me to think that.. can't help it. Now Yeon Do's ex is even worse. He falls into the category of being written off so horribly. Like he can be a good guy- he is not at all.. he showed up almost halfway through and is now trying to tear Yeon Do and Tae Kyung apart... why? I think he's got some issues with narcissism or something like that.
I have to make up why some characters are the way they are. That is a sore spot. I wish they would've written him better. It isn't like him versus Tae Kyung would be an issue. Tae Kyung is a very devoted man, and is the best character. He started off very full of himself and a self proclaimed bachelor. He wasn't a womanizer ever, he wasn't even selfish for being the way he is. He was always very motivated by his job and successful. I like how he isn't really related by blood to his family (that acts so patriarchy), he is just a successful man that is a good person. I could go over it more but there is a lot to cover. Overall he is written the best, he is so infatuated with Yeon Do and it is really sweet. They are a couple I root for, and I hope that since this drama is so long that the build up to them really getting together or staying together is amazing and sweet.
Another complaint is how they are married but still, it's confusing. The whole contract is amongst themselves. I don't remember if they are married legally? I don't think they are. I just hope to see a wedding sometime in this drama. I anticipate their child being born and I really want to see them kill off the grandma. That would really shake things up. She is like the pillar of the family, she is loaded. Everyone else listens to her and I hated her at first. She is just so old fashioned? She is so dumb sometimes, but now she is getting the development. It is crazy how I am liking her as opposed to wanting her to die sooner. I only want there to die so the rest of the family wakes up from their little pipe dreams and grow as people. Maybe worry about their bonds and not who is inheriting money.
There are a lot of different relationships. What surprised me was Yeon Do's brother being a single father. It is good representation to see single man loving his child and not blaming her for his life being where it is. Instead he is immature, but he is growing and loves his daughter over anything. He is a responsible father and isn't seeing her as a burden. There are divorces happening, parents unable to conceive, a lot is surrounded by being parents. It is interesting and keeps you watching to see alll these types of relationships.
So I enjoy this drama. I could only ever tell anyone to watch if they were to put it on in the background. You don't have to watch it fully to get what is going on. It's a lot to pick up, but it is good and worth while. The ending song slaps. The cliffhangers are gripping. This drama won't quit. It's interesting in all the right places and I believe it is self aware. I only wouldn't rewatch it because it is so long. I can see myself looking back in a few years and remembering my time with this drama being good.

unwatchable. Ahn Jae Hyun deserves better....
The Good:Nope. Not a single decent thing about this.
The Bad:
Man I dropped it so quick. Everyone is just unbearable..... How are there so many episodes? Why is Ahn Jae Hyun always playing in such terrible shows ? (I mean... Cinderella and four Knights is easily one of the worst shows I have ever seen) and finally, why does this series feel like a 2004 kdrama? We r in 2024 btw... the plot had a bit of potential but as soon as I saw the first episode, I realised that it's not sth I'm gonna b watching. even if u turn off ur brain, it's still unwatchable...
When I started watching it, it was still airing and the rating was above 8. Now its 7.3/10 which is still too high for this.... everyone should be financially compensated for watching whatever this is.....

I kinda feel bad for Kim Junha
Taegyongs relationship with the rest of the Gong fam was never good because of blood relations but in the end the family basically bullied Junha to give up his daughter because Yeondu didn't want him in Haneul's life. Yes, he was prideful and obsessed BUT all he wanted was the right to raise his own child and they hated him for it. It made no sense to me. Could they not have done a colaberative effort of raising her and letting her know her dad, mum and stepdad instead of the no-contact dad storyline? Was this review helpful to you?
Interesting plot but just went downhill
Finally finished this weekend drama after 6 months!Likes
1. The grandma was my favorite character. She started as the most hated but ended as the most loved and the one that glued everything back together for the family.
2. ML and FL and Haneul when they're together. Though FL turned from feisty to wimpy in the second half
3. When the family finally accepted ML and rallied behind him when he was having trouble with Junha.
4. ML's father slapping Junha hard.
5. Sejin finally booted out after her schemes were exposed.
Dislikes
1. The first part when the writer had so much screentime for Sejin (jeez she was everywhere getting into everyone's business) and being mean to her own dad.
2. The middle part when ML's mom was the crazy one opposing everything when she was actually just jealous.
4. The last 10 episodes should not have happened, esp the Junha storyline. How did the writer try to redeem him is beyond me.
4. There were storylines that didnt go the way i expected like the super boring story for Daesang and the elder brother and wife.
5. Maknae and FL brother dated for 1 year but never knew they were in laws. Duh.
Rating: 7/10

A Dragged-Out Disappointment: This 2010-Era Drama Falls Short on Chemistry and Execution
Honestly, I started watching this drama without knowing its production year, but it quickly felt like something from 2010. The production quality and acting had a distinct 2010s vibe. Overall, the drama was poorly written and reminiscent of a telenovela. I barely managed to finish it, skipping through most parts of the episodes due to its dragged-out pacing. There was no chemistry between the main leads, which was surprising given the storyline centered around a child and marriage. Their interactions were limited to hand-holding and hugging, making them seem more like friends than romantic partners. Ultimately, this drama was a huge disappointment, especially considering the potential of its storyline. Was this review helpful to you?
longggg asf for no reason whatsoever - but good for a single time watch
plot line got messed bc of the multiple plot twists the writer decided to add... fr wanted it to be over by ep 27 bc i was tryna hold on but omfg 10 new plot twists and climaxes happened towards the last 5 long a-- episodesthe acting was decent but not amazing yk? like where was the bloody chemistry and buildup to falling in love between the main leads- the buildup was rubbish, needed a lot more work
ibsr the theme music during the scenes carried the entire show, way more than the acting
didn't let me put rewatch value any lower
