Definitely had potential…

I don’t understand the bad reviews but everyone has their opinion. This is the first series I watched with ForceBook, and I didn’t think it was that bad. I liked the characters and felt like they were suiting to the actors and how they were portrayed. At times I did feel like the plot was lacking but the times that the plot was interesting and captivating made up for it. It was very lighthearted but had a twist with some dark or deep themes which at times seemed like it was thrown in there. The acting was really good and I did enjoy the cast. I did enjoy this BL and I feel like GMMTV did kind of good with this type of concept.

I’m excited to see more ForceBook and probably will get around to watching their first series they did together in the future. Also I was very excited to see Drake in this drama since he barely gets casted these days. Hopefully we see him more in future series as a main character or main supporting character.

I actually really liked it

I like ForceBook and I love Force, but I was really really underwhelmed by Enchante. The actors did their best, but either the writing was weak or they just butchered it in the editing room. Boss and a Babe, however, is a huge jump forward. It was really cute and fun. I loved the Gunn/Cher chemistry. It was a really great opposite attracts story. Also, Mike looked REALLY good in this. The last show I saw him in was Mama Gogo and he was not really cute at all, but give the boy a nice haircut and put him on a Ducati motorcycle in a leather jacket and he is suddenly full hunk material. I also want to give a shoutout to Aoi as the sassy office coworker. Her facial expressions alone were worth the price of the ticket.

i really like this series

To be honest, "A boss and a babe" is better that "Enchante". Of course, I liked "Enchante" because of Force and Book, but in this series their acting is way better in my opion. Cher is so innocent, have a sense of humor, always cheerful and optimistic. On the other hand, Gun was the opossite of him - he didnt enjoy anything, was always busy, but fall in love with Cher in the second he saw him. Because of Cher, Gun started to enjoy life, gather with Cher`s friends, find the real love. Everything was sweet and pure. There wasn`t such a drama between them. Gun`s mother didn`t like Cher in the beginning, because he was an intern; they didn`t tell anyone because of this.
When I watched the first episode, i was hypnotised. Force is such a hot guy, Book is also handsome, and I think there is chemistry between them. In "Enchante" we didnt notice the chemistry, because lack of the romantic stuff between them.
For me its 10/10 - acting, chemistry, plot, its a breath of fresh air, not hard to watch. I will watch another series with Force and Book!

Simple Cliche Office Love Story

**Brief Synopsis**
B (Intern): Cher
T (CEO): Gun

- Beginning: T is the CEO of the company B starts working for as an intern. Normally speaking, an intern would never enter the CEO’s eyes but T recognize B as the person behind his favourite podcast to help him sleep. Because he admitted this connection, B starts treating him like a normal friend and less like boss from the beginning. B would console him and would actively hug him and bring him food. B is the only one to give him opinions and contest him when he thinks his opinion is wrong. He would also make an effort to include him in activities.

- Middle: Soon T started falling for him but B is still unsure about his own feelings because he has experienced past emotional trauma. Even after T kisses him, B doesn’t know how to respond but can’t stay away. He is jealous of T’s ex even if he doesn’t want to admit it. Despite T expressing his like for him since the beginning, he’s still feeling insecure despite not understanding what he was feeling. Around mid series, B finally realizes that T was important to him as well and they start acting like real lovers.

- End: Before they could have their happy ending however, B realizes in order to be someone T won’t be ashamed to be seen with, he needs to get his own life together. He knows T will never let him go so after his intern contract ends, he leaves without discussing with T, which drives T crazy. But B is only gone for a few month. After graduation he comes back to T and the show ends with them being back together, ready to face the future.

**My Opinion**

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:
- The actors’ looks. They are both really good looking and fit really well together.
- I really like the combination of CEO and intern. The CEO is calm and collected while the intern is always cheerful and energetic, full of positive vibes.
- I also really like their exchanges, especially when B would go on and on and T would just look at him with a deadpan look on his face, as if questioning his sanity. Their exchanges also have their really funny moment. For example, their exchanges in episode 1 was hilarious for me.
- I really like how B influences T and how T smiles more with B present. Their personality actually really compliment each other. B can get a little extra but he is rather cute when he does so and makes me smile as well. I can see why someone like T would fall for B. Their relationship doesn’t come out of nowhere and we see the buildup even if their first kiss comes really early in the series (in ep. 2), but at that time, it’s less about love and more about getting one over the other.
- I kind of like B’s innocent especially when he’s trying to figure out his feelings. He’s always so honest about everything, even when he shouldn’t be. He’s still young and idealistic. It is a double edged sword. It makes him stand out in a way but it will also cause him to overthink and spring things out of proportion.
- The actors do have chemistry together. When they are together later on, we can feel how much the characters like each other even when they aren’t being intimate. They are comfortable in each other’s presence and that is what is important. Although it takes sometime for B to come to terms with liking T because of a past emotional trauma so he has difficulty opening himself up again. But he shows jealousy, showing that he cares for the man in a way that’s beyond friends.
- I really like the deadpan things T sometimes says in reply to B’s extra-ness.
- I really like their daily as a couple. They’re really sweet together and T is always saying cheesy stuff which is so cute.
- I kind of liked the ending. B realizes that before he could comfortably be with T for the long term he needs to get his life together. This way he can proudly tell Ts mother that he isn't some kind of loser So he leaves for a while, graduates with honors and come back, more mature and more capable of making life decisions. But the way this plan was handled is extremely stupid and writen in a way just to introduce angst.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- The acting. Sometimes the acting can get a little awkward and cringey but it isn’t enough to make me want to turn off the show so I guess that’s good.
- The plot is very predictable and cliche with no plot twists or memorable moments. The writing is just normal. It’s not deep and don’t try to see if everything makes sense. It’s a turn your brain off sort of show.
- I didn’t like B’s childishness at the beginning. He’s not serious enough in a company environment and should have been fired already unless he made some big contribution to make them overlook his faults. From the beginning, he is obviously having difficulty separating personal with professional. This will hurt him in the future. But this is also T’s fault. They should have kept the intimacy out of the office but they couldn’t resist apparently.
- I didn’t like the fact that each time they communicated by phone, they would show the scene as if they other person was also in the room with them. It’s rather confusing.
- There is a constant pull and give between T and B which can get tiring after a while. B is never clear with his feelings, almost as if he’s stringing T along. I know he isn’t doing it on purpose but it’s still not a nice thing to do.
- I don’t like the use of jealousy to advance the romance plot. It’s too cliche and it causes conflict in the laziest way possible.
- The final angst is caused yet again by miscommunication or lack of communication which is the laziest way to introduce angst. B leaves without telling T because Ts mother told him he wasn't right for T because be has nothing. B realizes it was true and wants to prove himself by graduating with honors. He doesn't tell T he's coming back because he's afraid T won't agree. This doesn't make sense in many ways. First T was his boyfriend and not his guardian. If T has that much control over his life then B should be worried. They are adults, they should have talked it out. Just what kind of control freak B thinks T is. If T doesn't agree, it'll be better just to break it off with him. Leaving without a word and not telling him anything, letting him suffer in silence is just selfish and stupid. Its lazy writing, the laziest way possible to introduce angst before the finale. And another thing, B did not seem to have moved out of his apartment. T knows where he lives. Why doesn't he go in person to talk to him instead of emoing at home. Normal people would make more of an effort to track down their lover unless they simply didn't care. While I support B going back to finish his degree, the way it was handled was stupid. Luckily it only lasted around 20 min or else it would have been worst.

**Conclusion**
It was an okay series that I enjoyed. The interactions were cute but it is not memorable enough to be revisited.

Nothing but good entertainment

Well crafted, well cast throughout, good camera, very good entertainment.
I can recommend this series to anyone who just wants to be entertained.
The series is entertaining and ... yes. That's about it.

Let's get to the negative.
I'm not a fan of "sometimes yes, then no, then yes again, or better no and in the end yes again".
No worries, this series has only one outliner like this. But still not neccesary.

Also, the characters could go into a little more depth.
If it goes too deep, then it wouldn't be pure deep relaxed entertainment anymore. But it can't hurt the series if everyone gets a little more depth. Example? Sure, first the parents of both leads come up way too short. Then everyone in the office. There are the gossip-aunts and the "good guys." That's all the division there is. But you don't get to know anything about their lives.
Even with the friends, it remains very superficial. The main roles could also be a bit more detailed.
The music is not worth mentioning. It fits.

Why this good rating?
It is gentle and good entertainment. No big problems are pushed back and forth here, no over the top drama. Sweet and funny. I felt well entertained.

What do you think of the movie? Leave me a comment and I'll get to it!

Have fun

A fluffy and soft slice of life

I started watching while assuming that this series would be some kind of silly comedy, and to some extent it is - there's a lot about it that is mostly for comical relief and it would be unfair to say otherwise. What I believe makes this series so intriguing is the way the writers managed to put in good balance comedy, introspection, and romance.

The plot of the story is pretty simple, and to be fair, at the beginning even the characters are. As the episodes go on, however, there's more and more that is revealed to the audience through dialogue and meaningful scenes about the characters and the relationships they have with each other. This method of unveiling the world of Cher and Gun was what caught my attention the most and made me want to watch more and more: I really felt like I was sinking deeper and deeper in the story. Multiple situations that seemed simple were revealed to be much more complicated than they might have looked at first, and the characters showed multiple facets of their personalities and lives little by little.
The romance between Cher and his Boss was truly sweet to watch as it developed. The two characters are very different, but it's also obvious how the two start growing fond of one another, and the way they seem to suit each other perfectly despite having very different lives was a huge satisfaction. The two actors have some solid chemistry and they are blatantly at ease and comfortable when they're together.

Something I didn't like as much about this series was the way some problems and situations were put aside without a proper conclusion (I don't want to spoil anything so I'll avoid mentioning anything in particular). I believe that leaving more room to show certain secondary characters and their lives better would have made the ending much more satisfying to me.

I can recommend this series to whoever is looking for something cute and sentimental, with themes that never get too stressful or heavy to watch.

LOVE IS WHAT MAKES YOU WANNA BE A BETTER PERSON

As what I have expected, This BL did not fail me ! I waited so so long for all the episodes to be aired so that I may binge watching this ! and I love love love it so so much, This will be added to my favorite and most memorable BL list !
Aside that ForceBook is one of my favorite BL Ship, and that Force is one of my crush, This drama is so damn good ! like as what I have put in the headline of this review, as I finish watching it, that is the message of this drama, that if we are truly in love we always want to be a better person for the person we love, we give everything !
The lovey dovey moments is a five star ! like you will literally scream as you watch this couple , this is such a good vibes giver and I've had a good sleep because of this !
The kissing scene is on fire ! like you will be satisfied with it, not awkward great acting ! and speaking of great acting , I loved the acting of each of every character in this drama ! and Also P'Jack ! I always see him doing comedy things on GMMTV dramas but here his character is more serious than the usual more mature and I loved how he portrayed P'Jack ! and P'Gun also did a great job .. like He really looked matured and gentle here, and on the part where he had to cry to shout because he is angry.. He has given exactly as what is needed. everyone did a great job.
I loved the progression of the story, I commend GMMTV so much for this ! everything is just good in the eyes.
My favorite episodes is 8, 9 and 11 !! those were on fire like those were the momentum, and I really felt the emotion !
I hope Forcebook couple will have another BL as good as this in the future 🙏 I really stan them !
I am gonna re watch this again one day ! love it

2024-02-10
This is the second time I watched this drama and I think I will be re watching this again in the future, the reason is I really missed my Force Jiratchaping Srisang !! 🩵 so anyways even the fact that Force is my Bias, Im gonna give this an honest review, so here we go !
STORY
The story was common, and there are parts that was too unrealistic, and the closeness of Gun and Laem was too fast, I've seen here that Force and Book somehow cannot get out of who they are in real life , coz they maybe that close in real life that it was clearly seen in this show, that made it too unrealistic, on the contrary you will see that this show was not petty, coz as you watch it, you will see its direction, there is something more, it get quiet too good to be true in the beginning but the juice was given to my eyes all along, the story really began in the middle part and now that I have finished it, I realized that everything happened in the beginning contributed to the ending and I realized it was really good ! I was actually thinking why I gave tjis show a super high points the first time I watched it, and this was one of the reason! Besides that I so love Force. I was really touched by this drama once again, there are so many parts that I like about this show, it was not perfect but it will definitely leave a mark in your heart. Actually have a nice story line, with direction and easy to understand but bit unrealistic and some parts were off but still okay
ACTING
Compared to ForceBook acting on Enchante' there was so much improvement I've seen here, From the part where they were crying to shouting and facial expression, it was nice and the kiss looked more natural then Enchante. In some ways I am annoyed to Cher's Character, and Gun was a total green flag, he was not really bad here, the only reason why he was always moody and sulking was there was no one yet to make his life colorful ! But look ! He even bailed, Cher's brother from getting prisoned of 500k Baht ! In real life, no matter how rich I am, and even I love someone I would not spend a money like that to someone I barely know, but Gun has a good heart here for someone he loves, lucky Cher was ! I love P'Oi here , she is my favorite character ! And Mike I was so proud of him here that he has a mature role here unlike his past roles on GMMTV series where he had a comedian role , like not literally comedian but has a funny character but here he was mature, serious brother of Cher and he was actually great ! And yeah again super proud of Force, he was totally different here fron his real character, and when he shouted at Cher when someone gave the evidence of the game being them as a creator, I was amazed and felt everything ! Very good job !
VISUALS
I was crazy of force ! Like I literally shout all the time when Force was on screen like damn that camera man ! Why does they have to always show force's very handsome angles ?!? And his stylist OMG I wanna be their friends ! anyways enough of fan boying here. The visuals are great ! I liked the places or was that an effects ? Coz every places there seems had a blue light effect and I liked it so much ! All in all good job !
ALL IN ALL
I will not blame myself , coz this show is special to me , And it is because I am a fan of ForceBook as you can notice ! This show was not perfect but special in my heart. I was never wrong of re watching this that is why I rewatched it and will be re watching this again coz it is hard to move on to. I hope that Force Book will have another show and I hope It will be directed by P'Aof 😅 .. 'Aof ! Shout out to you ..
Yeah thats all ❤️

Cute simple story. but no side plot or many answers

A Boss and a Babe is a cute story, and the nice series Force and Book deserved after Enchanté. The plot is overall quite simple, but I really liked the main couple. The side characters don’t have individual plots or matter all that much.
Force and Book are great as Gun and Cher, you could see how well they fit into those characters. Force as Gun is the highlight of the series, in my opinion, The entire cast is overall well in the show. Java is the weakest link, but his character is also annoying, so that doesn’t help.
My biggest issue with ABAAB is the fact that the side characters and plots don’t matter. Cher’s friend group is there just to be fun and create lighthearted moments. Zo and Thee have several alone scenes that are bland and don’t go anywhere beyond proving they’re in love. We get a hint about Jack’s backstory and him having depression, but that’s no explored. But not exploring is still better than trying to tackle a heavy issue, like everything involving Tian, and doing a bad job. By the way, Thoop was OK with the mom way to easily.
The biggest mystery for me is Drake's character. Is he the bad guy? What really happened in the past? Did he steal information from Gun’s company about the new game? Was he framed? Did Ink fabricate those logs? I guess we’ll never know… (unless Our Skyy decides to mention it)

not gmms best but DEFINITELY not their worst

I think ForceBook suits roles like this a lot better than Enchante in my opinion. Probably has something to do with them being 26-year-old men that are Not in college idk. Anyways this show was good at the time I kept up with it every week from start to finish but the fact that it ended just a few months ago and I already cannot remember almost anything about it makes me believe it was forgettable lol. In comparison to other gmm bls that came out/ are coming out this year (only friends, hidden agenda, moonlight chicken) it was just nothing special tbh

very cute, but little else

I watched this title with my friend who loves ForceBook (after Only Friends). It's very sweet! The characters are quirky/fun and the plot is cartoonish. While it could be slow, it wasn't ever so bad that I was bored or wanted to drop it. We wanted to watch Force be hot and silly on our TV screens, and that was certainly accomplished. As a pick-me-up or feel-good show, it definitely has it's place.

That said, the story wasn't particularly original or well done. Particularly, a lot of the plot with Tian and Thoop was either haphazard, rushed, or a rather inappropriate tone to the rest of the story. It takes a sweet, unoriginal romcom and makes it just clunky and long enough to sink the rewatch value. I had fun!... but I won't be picking this up again.

Loved every second of this show!

A Boss and a Babe presents the story of Gun, a CEO, and Cher, his intern, as they navigate a scandalous office romance. The show introduces us to a young and optimistic intern who joins a company and encounters an overbearing, rude, and despised boss. As Cher gradually chips away at Gun's tough exterior, their relationship becomes intertwined with scandal, and faces intense criticism for being inappropriate within the office setting.

A Boss and a Babe offers a delightful blend of witty humor and energetic performances from the actors. It certainly doesn't hurt that Force is an attractive individual—I wouldn't mind having him as my boss (lol!). Although I came across some negative reviews regarding the storytelling and writing, I decided to give the show a chance. Some viewers expressed concerns about the boss making sexual advances toward an intern and the power dynamics at play in their relationship. However, after watching the series, I personally didn't find it to be a significant issue and felt that it actually contributed to the overall story.

My focus was primarily on the blossoming relationship between Cher and Gun, which evolved beyond the boundaries of a typical intern-CEO dynamic. They faced numerous challenges, encountered harsh criticism, and were made to feel as though they shouldn't be together. The show provides a refreshing twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope, complemented by witty humor and Cher's tendency to call out the clichés within the BL genre, which had me laughing and smiling throughout. I particularly enjoyed witnessing the progression of Cher and Gun's relationship in each episode, especially towards the end when Cher took charge of his own life to be with the person he loves.

Director New suck at comedies

Let’s just get it out of the way: Director New sucks at comedies. There’s no nice way to say it. His attempt at rom-com in A Boss and a Babe misses the mark so badly it feels like he’s trying to hit a bullseye while blindfolded, and someone’s moved the target to another country.

This rom-com manages to fail spectacularly at both romance and comedy. It’s almost impressive, in a how-did-we-get-here kind of way. The problem? Director New doesn’t seem to understand that jokes require timing, delivery, and maybe—just maybe—punchlines that don’t feel like a deflated balloon. Most of the jokes don’t translate well into any language, leaving us with non-verbal humor that, well, relies almost entirely on Book making silly faces as if that’s the pinnacle of comedic brilliance. Spoiler: it’s not. And while Book isn’t exactly the world’s greatest comedic actor, I can’t say even the finest comedian would have been able to salvage these scenes. You can’t make filet mignon out of wet cardboard, after all.

And as for the romance? Oh, dear. It stumbles out of the gate in episode one, with the main characters already in love before we’ve even had time to warm up the popcorn. It’s like they pulled a Deus Ex-Machina romance card from the get-go and forgot to build any tension. Worse, they behave like middle schoolers in puppy love, even though they’re supposed to be working adults. Force plays the boss, whose primary qualifications seem to be his hotness, which, let’s be honest, kept me watching longer than I’d care to admit. Unfortunately, he doesn’t take his shirt off nearly enough to distract from the complete lack of plot or character development.

The cold, distant company boss we were promised? The one who’s meant to be intelligent, calculating, and maybe, just maybe, too focused on his work? Yeah, forget that. Instead, he immediately decides to start a relationship with his intern—an intern who would absolutely be fired in real life on day one for having no common sense, no work ethic, and bringing absolutely nothing to the office except coffee. And questionable coffee, at that. By episode 3, you’re left wondering why the "romance" feels less like a love story and more like a platonic hangout session between long-time friends who decided to play "what if."

Plot progression? Ha! What plot? The romance flatlines after episode 2, and the subplots are so neglected you’d think they got lost in transit. This story had enough material for a movie, at best, but stretching it into twelve episodes was like trying to butter toast with an ice cube—pointless and messy. None of the side characters needed to be there; they existed solely to wander around in the background, their stories left unexplored and unfinished like abandoned side quests in a video game.

In short, I don’t recommend A Boss and a Babe. With twelve episodes that feel like an eternity, it’s a wonder anyone made it through. There are far better BL series out there that actually understand how to deliver both romance and comedy. Watch those instead—trust me, your time is better spent elsewhere.
