Exciting and Fun plot
What a roller-coaster emotional story.. Laugh, thrilled, heartbreaking, laugh, intriguing, cry then so on xD There's a lot of actions that showed skillful and badass Ryo.. It makes me hype watching it.. Also love how they make Kaori that tough but at the same time fragile.. Her acting is superb..But Suzuki Ryohei totally carried out the whole movie.. The moment they announced the cast, I knew he will nailed it.. and he did it more than I was expected.. ^_^
Nice camerawork that showed different kind and angle of shootings.. How I wish they make into drama series..
They have potential to develop the storyline.. Hopefully there's sequel..
Overall it was exciting and fun movie.. I really enjoyed watching it ^_^ Highly recommended

It's a fun-to-watch action film.
The film begins with Ryo and his colleague investigating a case in which a gorgeous girl mysteriously disappears, maybe as a result of some strange happenings in the city. While researching what occurred, Ryo and his partner become entangled in something deadly that could cost them their lives. There are many adaptations, so we already know ML's characteristics: he is brilliant, charming, has excellent communication skills, and, ultimately, he is proficient in martial arts. There is no doubt about Suzuki Ryotei's acting skills, his lines, facial expressions, and body language are exceptional. While Kaori, I'm not invested in her character at all because she is a little bit annoying.
I felt a little bit frustrated about the plot because it lacked some intense scenes, character development that make you blend and invest in the character's story, but after all this movie is worth watching because of its humor and relaxation.
Lastly, I thought it was a mini-series at first though.

Enjoyable to watch
It is based on a Japanese manga, I am not familiar ofcthe manga character but I heard so much about it. I don't know but I see Ryo Saeba as Mo Tak of The Uncanny Counter they lookalike they resemble each other they are same witty and funny.I super like the action scenes in this movie specially the effects they put on it. It can be alike to Hollywood films. I love the stunts they are making it looks they are not faking it it looks so real to me.
I like the humor they put on it, thats why I enjoyed watching it because of its humor, especially when Ryo encounters a sexy girl ?.
Full of action you will definitely enjoy it, tiktok made me watched it bcoz I heard lots of beautiful reviews about this film.
You will laugh so hard while watching it, you will also feel intense about the action scenes. It is one of the books.

Hit and miss
The movie was an interesting watch, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. While it was definitely weird, quirky, and campy, the humor and storyline could have been better fleshed out. Having watched the Chinese adaptation of the movie, I know the potential for hilarity and absurdity that this type of movie can offer, and unfortunately, this version of the movie didn't quite live up to that standard. Nonetheless, the movie did have its moments and the villain's plan was intriguing, despite not being explored in much detail. I'm looking forward to a potential sequel and seeing how the story develops. Was this review helpful to you?
This review may contain spoilers
For a second I thought this was a Korean movie even though there's a 20 episode drama out there. I thought it was the guy who played in Uncanny Counter which led me to Netflix to watch it. I had to do a double take when I heard Japanese so I went and did a little research and learned it's not the guy from Uncanny Counter but I watched it because it showed some fighting scenes.I'm always drawn to movies and dramas that have fighting in it for some odd reason...
Anyway, this movie lacked purpose for me. I had to stop it at one point and have just now finished watching it.
It started off in the middle and stayed that way until the end. I had no idea who the City Hunter was, how he came to be, and why was he called the City Hunter.
Then there's the reason for this movie....a female is looking for her sister so I'm guessing the City Hunter was a PI with skills.
I got the gist of people getting enhanced drugs that was supposed to be banned from a certain war and a union is trying to bring it back and weaponize it but why? What's the purpose?
This was an almost 2 hour movie with so many plot holes that I'm wondering how did it make it to where it gets to be on Netflix?
The comedy was overly done. I didn't laugh at all. The sexual innuendos were unnecessary. The plot was weak...
Come on Japan...you can do better!

Weak story and characters
I didn't like this movie. Action scenes and visuals were great, Ryo was cool but felt off in comic scenes, too much exaggerated yelling and weird not-so-cool behaviour around women. Story was a bit weak, well, probably because this movie was just an intro to its world setting. I assume there will be sequels. Kaori was actually the weakest link - she was dumb as a doorknob. I don't know the source material, but if they could have modernised the story, the lady character could have been improved too.Was this review helpful to you?
As if you actually live in the manga
Disclaimer: I read the mangas, years and years agoStory-wise.
All I can say is that, I would like to see these casts in a series. It was just too short for me who read all the manga, even up to Angel Hearts. But the blend of one part of the full storyline with the other part as it creates a cohesive story is quite nicely done. 90/100
Characters.
They portrayed the characters with almost perfect scores. The costumes, cars, apartment, even Ryo's way of standing, the way he moves and all of his quirky anecdotes are very much displayed there. Kaori's and Saeko's characters also almost fully fleshed out as well. Can't be too perfect though since we can't have a 200t hammer swinging all around every time, but the denim jacket is spot on for Kaori. Attention to details are 98/100
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that have interest in a funny action drama movie. Perhaps, similar to Jackie Chan's movies.

fun to watch
I've watched this recently, and it's really fun to watch. The plot is clear and fast without interrupting, and for a comedy the action is even and the actors are also very funnyand cute, especially Ryo.Nice camerawork that showed different kind and angle of shootings.. How I wish they make into drama series..
They have potential to develop the storyline.. Hopefully there's sequel..
Overall it was exciting and fun movie.. I really enjoyed watching it ^_^ Highly recommended

Ridiculous fun
What have I just watched? Madness. It was a crazy ride. Sort of James Bond-ish. Sort of superhero-ish, but without super powers - a bit like Batman not having powers like the other superheroes. It was funny and sombre and outrageously ridiculous. Loved it!There was a scene that surprised me and I don't think I can erase it from my memory. Let's just say he's a playboy and not shy!
If they made a sequel, I'd gladly watch it.
What I liked: the silliness of it all. The feisty Kaori.
What I didn't like: sometimes the silliness was over the top, but not so much that I wanted to stop watching it. The feisty Kaori (sometimes).

If you are a City Hunter Fan…
City Hunter was a classic J comic, may seem like a simple story but the main character can be complex back story. I am a fan of the comic and anime, so nice to see finally J entertainment made this series into a movie. There has been so many version made previously, the one with good effort and attempt was the French version. However I must say this is movie by far is the best adaptation and maintained the essence of its original comic. And only with a J production, we can see the J humour done so well. The casts done a fantastic job, the fighting and shooting scenes were quite well done. I really enjoyed watching this, if you are a fan of City Hunter, it’s a must watch and you sure will enjoy this a lot.Was this review helpful to you?
..GOOD ADAPTATION..
..i just watch some episode of this anime version - i guess this is original story and concept...
..the main casts show the characters in the anime version (but i am expecting a lot on Kaori's side by i think it's her first time as his [Ryo] partner, so i understand it - the character development i looked too)..
.
..a pinch of drama, a punch of action, and jam-packed comedy - no minutes wasted so worth it too watch..
.
..i do love the casting too and it's great lineup for me since i am all familar too them..
.
..again, this adaptation is so wonderful to me. . .expecting to have new story on this..
.
..more bang bang, more mokkori, more babes..
