Both the Heroes and the Villains Are Stealing the Show, and I'm Not Even Mad About It

The acting? A solid 8/10. Every expression, every line delivery is chef’s kiss. The action is mind-blowing. The fight scenes will have you gripping your seat. And the bromance? Oh, it’s bromantic.

And the villains? Oh, they’re out here stealing the spotlight like they’re auditioning for their own spinoff. Charismatic, over-the-top, and delivering monologues that have you low-key rooting for them. How am I supposed to hate them?

At first glance, it seems like your typical “weak-class hero” story, but oh no, the ML (main lead) is built different. He’s strong, determined, and somehow manages to balance being studious yet hilariously failing at the same time. The comic timing is so spot-on, you’ll be crying with laughter between gasps from the fight scenes.

Having watched the first two episodes, I can confidently say: this show knows how to serve. From epic action to belly-aching humor, it delivers a full course meal. Let’s hope it keeps this momentum and doesn’t end up disappointing

Laughs and Fights: A Perfect Combo in 'Study Group'

I'm currently watching Study Group , and I have to say, it has quickly become one of my favorite shows! The main character, Yun Ga Min, is such an interesting mix; he appears so innocent and naive at first glance, yet he possesses incredible fighting skills that constantly catch everyone off guard. This contrast makes his character incredibly engaging and adds depth to the storyline.

The fighting scenes are where the show truly shines (it's so hilarious 😂😂). They're not just action-packed but also infused with humor, creating a unique experience that keeps viewers entertained. I find myself laughing out loud during the fight sequences, as the choreography is both impressive and comically exaggerated at times. It's refreshing to see a show that can balance intense action with lighthearted moments so effectively.

As the series progresses, I'm excited to see how Yun Ga Min develops and what challenges he will face next. The blend of comedy and action makes it a delightful watch, and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds....I highly recommend 'Study Group' to anyone looking for a fun and entertaining drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat while also making you laugh!!!!!10 out of 10 for me ☺️😉

everyone is giving a vibe

Study Group is a refreshing take on the high school drama genre, blending themes of education, friendship, and perseverance. Based on a popular webtoon, the series delivers a compelling story that centers on Gamin, a determined high school student who struggles academically but dreams of succeeding through the power of study groups. What sets this drama apart is its unique mix of intense action scenes and heartfelt character development.
The narrative does an excellent job of showcasing the challenges students face in competitive academic environments, including bullying, societal pressure, and self-doubt. The camaraderie among the study group members is heartwarming and inspires viewers to value teamwork and resilience.
Visually, the drama captivates with its clean cinematography, dynamic fight sequences, and symbolic use of color. The performances of the cast are another highlight, with the lead actor delivering a relatable and emotionally nuanced portrayal of Gamin's journey.
While the drama occasionally leans into familiar tropes, its fresh execution and meaningful messages make it a standout. Whether you're a fan of school dramas or looking for an inspiring series with a mix of action and heart, Study Group is well worth your time.

Study Group: Action, Laughs, and All the Feels—Let’s Talk!

OMG, Let’s Talk About Study Group! 🤩

Fight Scenes Slay!
The action scenes? Top-tier! Every punch, kick, and slo-mo shot of Gamin in action is chef’s kiss

OST: "Backpackers" is a banger. Props to SM and GW from ZB1—proud moment for their fans!

Gamin’s Study Obsession = Pure Comedy
Why is he so bad at studying but still trying SO hard? 😭 He’s got a home tutor, watches online lessons, attends night school, and even takes notes during sermons at church! Sir, give it a break! 😂

That “Study Group” Reputation
Everyone thought he was forming the group to torture them, but after his martial arts reveal? Nope, no one’s making eye contact anymore. 🤣 Watching him dodge the “first applicant” and getting sick after? Comedy gold!

40-Minute Episodes? A CRIME.
Seriously, these episodes end too fast! I blink, and suddenly, the “Next Episode” button is taunting me. The editing and camera work? Next-level. The dramatic music cuts when his grades pop up—iconic!

Underdog Story Vibes!
It’s got heart, action, and some serious humor. Reminds me of Weak Hero Class 1 (my eternal obsession 😭), but this one’s lighter and just as satisfying.

Scene Stealers & Sillies!

Hwang Min Hyun: He’s perfect as this clueless, kind guy. The way he talks about his study group is too funny. That “I’m forming a study group” face? Priceless😂

Hong Mingi: A whole scene-stealer! His eyes are doing ALL the acting. He’s killing it like he did in Love Your Enemy. 👏

Sehyun & Gamin: Gamin running over like a golden retriever, Sehyun pretending he wasn’t waiting? Adorable. 🥹

Young Cast = Star Power
Cha Wo Min, Hong Mingi, Park Yoon Ho—this squad brings so much fun, action, and energy to the screen. Can we just take a moment for their reunion?! 🥹( Night has come )

I can’t wait to see the group come together and especially looking forward to the female characters joining in.

In short: This drama is AMAZING, FUN, and PACKED WITH HEART! Can’t wait for more crazy characters and to see how the Study Group shapes up! ✨

Study Group: A Comedic Delight!

I haven't laughed this much at a K-drama in ages! Typically, I lean towards serious themes, so I rarely get the chance to just switch off my brain and enjoy something light-hearted. But this drama is a breath of fresh air—it's fun, entertaining, and surprisingly engaging, especially considering I've only seen two episodes so far!

The story revolves around a boy who loves to study but struggles academically, always finding himself at the bottom of his class despite his efforts. In a bid to improve, he enrolls in a technical school, only to discover that it's anything but focused on studying. Determined to succeed, he takes it upon himself to form a study group, but he quickly becomes entangled in the competitive world of ranking battles.

The premise is intriguing, and I absolutely adore the male lead! Hwang Minyun looks incredibly youthful, perfectly embodying the high school student vibe. His character is wonderfully written; he’s portrayed as nerdy yet possesses a surprising edge. He’s both innocent and timid, but he knows how to fight, which creates a fascinating contrast as he navigates between these two personas. The supporting characters are equally engaging, and I’m particularly enjoying his interactions with his first study group recruit—their bromance is just everything!

This drama's biggest strength, aside from the comical story and characters, is the effortless comedy. The comedic timing is spot on, and the upbeat background music perfectly complements the overall light-hearted vibe of the show. So far, I'm thoroughly enjoying this experience!"

*NOT YOUR AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA AT ALL*

Firstly, I just want to say, this is by far my favourite school kdrama ever as it's completely different, because this is not really a romance drama but it will tell the story about friendships and mostly school drama but intense one that one can relate to & can be in character with them. It is a kdrama equivalent of a rollercoaster with a side of academic angst and heartwarming friendships! This drama will take you on a wild journey through the chaotic lives of a quirky group of high school students who somehow manage to form the most dysfunctional yet lovable study group ever. It's packed with hilarious moments, unexpected emotional twists, and tons of that classic kdrama charm. The chemistry between the cast is electric, and their antics will have you laughing one moment and reaching for the tissues the next.
In conclusion, if u love a good blend of comedy, friendship, and a little romance, STUDY GROUP will for sure have u hooked faster than u say "STUDY BREAK"!

THANK U SM FOR READING THIS!!!

A Wild Ride in the Worst School

January just got a whole lot better with Study Group, the drama that’s stealing hearts and raising fists! Hwang Min Yun, known and loved from Alchemy of Souls and My Lovely Liar, delivers a standout performance in this action-packed, twist-filled high school series.

Set in the "worst school" imaginable, the drama hooks you with its raw portrayal of class fights, bullying, and survival, all set to a captivating background music track that amplifies every scene. The first two episodes serve up a full-course K-drama experience, with perfectly choreographed fight scenes, impeccable acting, and a gripping storyline.

At the heart of the story is Ga Min, a hardworking yet unlucky student who transfers to this tumultuous school with an unlikely mission: to form a study group. But Ga Min isn’t your typical academic underdog—his charm and secret skills give him an edge in navigating this dangerous new environment. Watching him strategize and gather allies is as thrilling as it is endearing.

The cast is a dream team, delivering intense performances that make you love and hate their characters in equal measure. The drama skillfully explores themes of friendship, passion, and resilience while tackling the darker realities of high school life.

If you loved Weak Hero Class 1 and High School: Return of a Gangster, Study Group offers a fresh twist. Like Weak Hero, it explores bullying and resilience, but with a focus on teamwork as Ga Min forms a study group amidst chaos. While Return of a Gangster thrives on gritty redemption, Study Group blends intense action with themes of friendship and personal growth, delivering both heart and edge.

With its perfect mix of action, emotion, and unforgettable characters, Study Group is shaping up to be one of the year’s top K-dramas. If you’re looking for a show that packs a punch—literally and figuratively—this one deserves a spot on your watchlist!

Thoroughly Entertaining with a Good Casting!

If you enjoyed watching the recently concluded “High School Frenemy”, then “Study Group” should be on your list.

This show will oddly remind you of a few teenage dramas- such as Weak Hero Class 1, High School: Return of a Gangster & High School Frenemy. It’s an intriguing mix really- a protagonist who is bad at studying but excels in martial arts, and yet he is hellbent on becoming a better student. Yun Ga Min’s obsession with getting better scores and his dream to enter a college might seem overrated, but his dedication will win your heart. Despite having a good observation skills and smartness that precedes most students in his class, Yun Ga Min is still at the bottom of his class. The question that keeps you immersed in this storyline is why such a smart guy is unable to get good scores? Hwang Min Hyun does an excellent job imbibing the innocence & naivete of his character coupled with his exceptional martial arts skills. The first two episodes gleam on the rampant bullying at Yusung Technical High School, which is deemed as one of the worst schools around. The premise hints at a strong turnaround when Yun Ga Min decides to start a study group.
