The Loyal Pin Episode 9 Reactions

A Weekend and Hua Hin beach

The episode starts with planning a vacation to Hua Hin by the three siblings and their spouses or significant others. For Anin this of course means bringing Pin, for which she gets a look by Anan (who recently found them out) – but he says nothing so far.

But, on departure day, Ladies Aon and Ueangfah also join, as well as Pranot (and of course Prik and Pia). I count eleven vacationers in total – quite a party for three cars. And the party get even larger – because Anin’s other brother Anon invited his friend – and our personal favorite – Kuekiat, as well (in an obvious wingman move) much to the chagrin of Pin.

At the barbecue, Pin, Prik and Pia handle the Food, but Anon summons Pin to the table, because she wants her to bong with Kuekiat. She has no intention of doing so, at returns to the grill, followed by Kuekiat who offers his experience in grilling – a welcome offer in the eyes of Anin who requests that Kuekiat take over grilling while the ladies go have fun at the beach.

While strolling along the beach, Pin notices that Aon seems to have problems in the water and starts to drown. Anin jump into the ocean and swims towards her carrying her back to the beach before the men get their act together. Aon is not breathing, but the men are at a loss what to do. After all, Aon is a Lady! Anin doesn’t care about gender or status and performs CPR, bringing her back to life. Only, Pin seems to be not happy about that.

Pin is unhappy about Anin performing mouth -to-mouth on Aon – but more so, she is unable to quell her feelings of jealousy when anyone comes near to Anin. Anin assures her that nothing was happening with Aon and that she cares only for Pin, and proceeds to show it by kissing her.

In the evening at dinner, Pin is coerced to dance with Kuekiat again by Anon. Anin is not impressed and seeks solace in alcohol once again. Then, Lady Ueangfah tries to feed Anin again under Pin’s eyes, and Anin make the wise decision to remove herself of the dinner table. Pin notices her absence and wants to follow her, but Kuekiat follows and wants to accompany her, and refuses to take no for an answer. Fortunately, Prik shows up in time to hush her away on some pretense, and Kuekiat vents his frustration by kung-fuing a tree.

Anin invites Pin to a night to the beach under the stars, so that they can be alone. They make love, apparently everyone else in Hua Hin has gone to bed. This would not work at German beaches at all. The next day, Prik brings a horse to the beach, and Anin and Pin (on horseback) stroll down the beach to a bunny made of sand (made by Anin earlier that day) holding a diamond ring. She wants everyone to know that Pin is taken (not in the least due to Kuekiat’s advances) – and Pin accepts, promising her a ring for her hand down the line. An incredibly romantic scene – but is it also wise?

Finally, it’s time to return – the vacation has ended, and the episode is also almost over. Kuekiat want to drive Pin home, but Anin, Prik and Pia once again intervene; as Pin big farewell to Kuekiat, he notices the bin ring she is wearing.

This was a good episode; I was happy to see Anin and Pin talking about their problems and jealousies, and the other suitors were not as big a problem as I expected – well, I must exclude Kuekiat from this assessment, because he doesn’t take no for an answer and gets bolder and bolder despite the many rebuffs he’s already collected. We should all fear the day he stop fearing Princess Anin – let’s hope this will never happen.

Essentially declaring Pin off-limits with a ring was a powerful and emotional movie by Anin – but was it also a smart move when you are not 100% sure that you can get away with this? Only time will tell…
