UNDERRATED SERIES GEM
I loved this series!! The narration was good, I loved the plot from the beginning. Ohm's acting always impresses me, I'm proud of his work. Leng captivated me with this series, I really fell in love with him and his work. I don't understand people who don't give them a chance to appreciate them together, all those people are really missing out on a lot. Leng is a rising star, I'm serious, I hope he doesn't get carried away by the bad comments and is very proud of his work. He did amazing! Everyone should check it out, Leng is a very talented guy. I'll be rooting for his future projects. Ohm and Leng's chemistry will always be 1000/10.✨Was this review helpful to you?
Wasted Potential
An interesting premise with strong and likable characters, but with unfortunately poor execution. Before anything else let me say that Ohm and Leng delivered as a couple. Their chemistry was present and you could see their effort, but the writing failed from all aspects. The build up was missing. Many things were rushed, resulting to half-assed character development, plot missteps and after a point not story left to tell. They tried to merge romance with action, but there was imbalance. The romance was too much and the action was too little, with none of them ending up good. If they have taken their time to properly explore the characters and not stray from the original plot this would turn into a totally different show that could still maintain its romantic and fluffy side. Alternatively, if they wanted to maintain a fast pace, turning it into a mini series would also work.As for the acting, it was fine for for the most part and I appreciated the cinematography and some interesting musical choices.
Overall, it's an okay series to spend your time with, but nothing really memorable for me. I would give it a chance just to get a taste of Ohm and Leng as a pairing if you're curious, but also for Ohm Thipakorn. I think he did very well.

Captivating Cast and Stellar Production
Kidnap has been a gripping Thai BL series with standout elements that keeps me awaiting for each episode. Currently at episode 10, I’m thrilled with how the show continues to deliver quality in acting, casting, and production. The acting itself is impressive. The leads manage to convey a wide range of emotions, from vulnerability and fear to moments of resilience and hope. Their performances make each twist in the plot feel impactful. Even in the most intense scenes, the actors manage to keep the story grounded and relatable, enhancing the dramatic tension.
The pacing has been steady, building suspense episode by episode, and the editing keeps viewers on their toes, making each reveal feel earned.
Overall, Kidnap combines great production with a talented cast, creating a thrilling experience that leaves me eagerly waiting for the next episode. At episode 10, I can confidently say this is a series worth watching, and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

Can be better
Story line can be better but still enjoyin this very much. Recommended. As with many BLs , there are some part which doesn't make sense. Q's father is a very good cop, doesn't take bribes. However, I don't believe a cop can life in such a huge villa from salary alone. LOL
Plus I thought Thai pple has social security? I am not Thai hence not sure.
Nonetheless, if one wants a story that's 100% same as real life, might as well watch documentary, no?
Enjoy the show as what it is and you won't be disappointed.

More love less crime
A word of advice for people who will start watching the series, don't let your expectations affect your experience. I went into the series expecting a lot of action and some darkness, but it's lighter than I expected. Although it is not necessarily bad because we immediately enter the coexistence of Min and Q. If something sustains this series it is its characters, unlike many other series the main characters get all the attention. We understand why Min has that protective nature with his brother (sometimes very radical) and that he begins to transmit to Q. On the other hand, we quickly know that Q is a very lonely person and that he does not have family warmth from the only person he has. (his father). So a loving brother meets a lonely and damaged child, things had to come up! The series in general is very entertaining and has the romance that is sought in a BL, as for the criminal plot, with a better script and time the story could have been developed better. There are 4 episodes left, let's hope it has a proper closure. Was this review helpful to you?

Story line ...
The main lead Ohm was good and carried a lot and seemed to get Leng along with improvings ...The story is, as promising it looked, a dampening affair. Some juvenile shows for teenagers have a better tension ... and yes I know those shows where someone is taken hostage and it was filmed with teens.
The idea of taking the story out of the overworked school/university surroundings is good, but with the story ... and dialogues ... even the english translation lacked. In Germany we have a brilliant voice over culture, which is resuing a lot a shitty story lines and plats. The English crime show The Persuaders! floped in UK, anyhow German broadcast system ZDF bought and made new dialogues for the show and it was an imediate hit. Undertitels can´t do that. But here they showed the original dialogues ...
For the productplacements ... yes they are too often as here too a slap in the face and made this show a advertising sometimes with unnatural behavior while showing the procuct. Such can be done, and it´s not only here in this show, far better and more subtle. Ads, productplacement is a way of financing ... sometimes I wish Films all over the world could be financially backed as Europe is doing it. Productplacement there is forbidden.
A great chance has been send down the gurgler ...

OhmLeng make it work it!
I was hesitant with this one at first. I was going to wait until the whole show as up before watching, but Ohm and Leng's chemistry was too hard to resist and definitely carried the show for me. The plot was interesting and I enjoyed the "action" element. I really liked that we actually got to see Leng's character work through his trauma and seek out help and was honest with the fact that he wanted to do it for someone else. It was super refreshing to see his trauma not just magically "fixed" once he and Ohm's character became official. His dad just disappeared in the last episode and I though that was kind of lame since he was a major source of conflict for Leng; he could've had one little scene instead of only being mentioned.Overall, I would recommend this one, but I don't think I would rewatch it. I am excited though and hope Ohm and Leng do another project in the future.

Trailer-Bait, No Stockholm Syndrome, and WTF Did They Do to This Plot?
Let me just start by saying this: I'M SORRY. If y'all don’t vibe with my review, then oopsies but also… not really? You can fight me. Anyway, let’s unpack my trauma real quick because I was SO HYPED for this series. Like, Ohm in a BL post- Bad Buddy? Leng being adorable IRL and OhmLeng TikToks giving BFF-to-lovers energy? Sis, I was READY.And then the trailer? Sheesh! It was giving gritty, it was giving Stockholm Syndrome realness, it was giving “morally grey character development arc.” I was salivating. But GUUUURL. WHY do I keep getting scammed by trailer bait? First Jack and Joker, now this? Is this my villain origin story? Probably. Let’s dive into this tea, because Miss Gurl is HOT.

Ohm as Mint: My Sweet Green Flag with Red Flag Tendencies
Listen, Ohm slayed. Mint is a stuntman who’s broke, clumsy, and soft, working overtime to save his sick baby bro. We stan a hardworking king. He’s a family man, super protective, and just the right amount of clueless to be charming. A certified Green Flag™… except for that slight overprotective Red Flag™ energy.
Now, here’s the gag: I wanted Mint to be a layered, complicated man. Like, give me tortured anti-hero! But noooo. The writers kept it basic. Yet Ohm, bless his talented soul, gave this flat character depth. His action scenes? ICONIC. This man was out here throwing hands like rent was due (which, it was). Ohm could’ve made reading a cereal box dramatic. We don’t deserve him.
---
Leng as Q: A Puppy with Lazy Eyes and No Sass
Leng… sweetie… listen. I love you but you gotta step it up. Your resting serious face is giving “annoyed at the world” when it should be serving depth. Like, we need to work on those eyes, babe, because right now, your vibe is “placeholder meme material.”
And Q? GIRL. His whole personality is just trauma and vibes. They took 10 episodes to unpack it, and by the time they did, I was like, “We been knew.” Q could’ve been bratty, spoiled, or even savage, but no. He’s just… meh. He’s lucky he’s cute because otherwise, I’d be snoozing. If Leng doesn’t hit acting workshops HARD before Only Friends 2, I’m gonna cry in 4K.
---
Mheen: Mint’s Rebellious Lil’ Bro Who Deserves a Spinoff
Mheen (played by another Ohm, because why not) is Mint’s sick younger brother. And guess what? He’s the surprise MVP. His acting? Solid. Not groundbreaking, but solid. I love how he’s always giving Mint love-life advice like some teenage Dr. Phil. Rebellious, a little naughty, but wholesome? We love that for him.
---
The Plot: Y’all Catfished Me
Oh. My. GOD. Y’all, the trailer had me HYPED. It was giving Stockholm Syndrome, action, drama, tension—all the juicy stuff. But what did we get? TRAILER-BAIT BULLSHIT.
So here’s the gist: Mint takes a kidnapping job because he’s broke and needs money for Mheen’s medical bills. Enter Q, the rich kid with daddy issues and a hit on his life. Mint is the world’s worst kidnapper, so Q just… stays at his house? Like, “Cool, this is fine. Better than being murdered.” And then they fall in love. The end.
The plot could’ve been so much more. Like, imagine if Mint faked Q’s death and Q had to hide while hitmen that were promised with bounty came for him. Or if Mint betrayed Q but regretted it. Or if they leaned into the Stockholm Syndrome vibe and gave us a morally complex love story. But no. They chose mediocrity. By episode 8, I was like, “Okay, can we wrap this up?” And the last 4 episodes? Pure fluff. Unnecessary.
---
Action Scenes: Ohm’s Fists Could End Me
The action scenes are the saving grace. Ohm knows how to land a punch, and every fight was poetry in motion. Leng? Ehhh, he tried. The choreography was solid, but the fights couldn’t distract me from the dumpster fire of a plot.
---
Chemistry: BFF Energy Instead of Butterflies
Okay, hear me out. They have chemistry, but it’s not hitting. Like, I wanted butterflies, heart palpitations, the whole deal, but instead? It’s giving “besties who sometimes kiss.” The steamy scenes were fine, but the emotional connection felt shallow. I get it—they’re new, but PLEASE do some workshops together before Only Friends 2 because I’m rooting for y’all.
---
OST: Forgettable, Just Like the Plot
The OST? Trash. I can’t even hum it for you because it’s THAT forgettable. Also, why is the opening a soft, romantic song when the show’s supposed to be action-packed? Make it make sense.
---
Final Thoughts: Trailer Bait Strikes Again
Great actors, mediocre plot, and wasted potential. The action scenes are fun, and Ohm’s acting is worth watching, but the chemistry and story just didn’t deliver. Would I rewatch it? No. Would I recommend it? Only if you’ve got nothing better to do. Anyway, here’s hoping Only Friends 2 gives these two the redemption arc they deserve.

Was the script of this series written by ChatGPT?
The plot lost itself so many times it gave me total whiplash. The titlesake "kidnapping" only happens in the first 2 episodes and the second-last one. And then it became a mafia story. And then it became a beach romance. And then it was about Min becoming an actor... I feel like this series wanted to be so many things at the same time it ended up being absolutely nothing. It dragged on at some parts and it rushed others, like for example: I think the story moved on waaaaay too quickly from the fact that Min's best friend literally kidnaps people for ramson as a side hustle... with how easily he did it with Q it obviously wasn't his first time... and that fact never gets addressed again lol Q and him even become friends later on. Maybe this would have had benefitted from being a shorter 8 episodes series where it ends after Q chases Min down to the beach he moved to and they get back together ~ROLL CREDITS~.This series came in a very weird and experimental period for GMMTV BL, where they want to make more serious shows with darker storylines, but they just can't let go of the cheesy romcoms and soap opera writting they're so known for. It feels like like they're trying to do Kinnporsche when all they know how to do is Bad Buddy... but they can't even commit to the elements that made both of this series into classics in the first place.
But tbf... you could convince me to watch absolutely anything as long as Ohm Pawat was in it. He has such a natural chemistry with anyone that he acts alongside, both romantically and platonically. His brotherly relationship with Ohmtpk was really a highlight in this show, if you told me they were brothers irl i'd have believed you . Ohmtpk also had really great chemistry with Leng. Mhen being a sickly homeschooled boy he obviously didn't have many friends to spare, it made perfect sense in the story that someone as lonely as him would immediately bond with someone as lonely as Q and develop a deep friendship (also Ohmtpk is soooo good, i saw his minor role in Last Twilight and he absolutely killed it. Can't wait to see more from him, this boy is going places).
But i'm surprised to hear they will keep OhmLeng as a couple for future series, I thought they would be an one-series-only couple like all of Ohm's previous partners. Ohm has been coupled with phenomenal actors like Singto and Nanon, so Leng had big expectations to live up to on his debut and unfortunately he wasn't quite there yet and in a lot of moments in this show his acting felt very stiff. I think maybe this type of more cute and fragile character like Q doesn't really suit him bc he looked waaaay more promising as a gang leader in the trailer of Mu-Te-Luv and I'm really excited for that story.
I had originally given this series a 7.0 but then I realized I gave 6.5 to series who are waaaaay worse than this one so here, have more half a star (as a treat). The relationship amongst the characters and the chemistry amongst the cast (and Ohm Pawat's LETHAL face card) were just barely enough to save a series that could've been a total trainwreck. If they had deleted the entire mafia/kidnapping plot and made this series be just the story of a stuntman who dreams of becoming an actor as he cares for his sickly brother and a song writer who can never fully debut as a singer bc the public exposition would put him in danger due to his father's job as a police officer... it would honestly had been PHENOMENAL. It's time for GMMTV directors learn to not bite more than they can chew (they won't always have Ohm's insane eyebrow game to save their shows).

OhmLeng were BOTH kidnapped with this plot
Hi, I am your short review person. The plot started off strong, but soon you'll know that the genres that were promised were actually not delivered. It is actually, at it's core, a rom-com with a bit of drama infused. There is not even angst between the couple. Not a lot at least. Lasts 2 parts of one episode. SO if you're looking for a sweet heart-warming story with slight ups and downs and a good-ish chemistry on a warm saturday afternoon, yep, this is it. But it's not "gonna keep you up at night" good. Was this review helpful to you?
Predictable, but still fun
Kidnap was a solid show that, while fairly predictable, was a fun watch. I did hope for a little bit more on the whole...yknow kidnapping aspect? But overall I enjoyed it and am very glad that GMM has announced Ohm and Leng as an official pairing after watching this.Min (Ohm) works as an action stunt double, and with his sick brother, he's in need of some quick money. His agent sets him up on a job to earn a lot of money fast, but it involves kidnapping a rich kid named Q (Leng) for ransom. Min thinks this will be a quick job that he can forget about easily, but when he's told to kill Q instead, Min takes him and hides him. Naturally, Min is going to get in serious trouble if the client finds out Q is still alive, but keeping him quiet at Min's house isn't easy either. The two start to get to know each other and become wrapped up in the drama of Q's father's police investigation with mafia-like criminals.
Min and Q's relationship was very fun to watch develop, and I didn't think any issue was overly drawn out. I did think that pretty much every conflict in the show was predictable - it felt like we were going around in circles where Min and Q would take turns with the whole "we need to break up so you can be safe" thing. I also felt like this was one of the least convincing "poor protagonists" ever. You're saying you need money but you have TWO large houses?? I get he was trying to sell one but still, it felt a little off. Overall this show was a fun watch and the main couple had great chemistry. Even though I felt like it didn't do anything too new, I enjoyed it and am excited to see what Ohm and Leng do next.
