A decent weekend binge

In typical j-drama fashion, this drama has a laser focus on the A-plot. The fact that the story is the usual contract marriage is more or less coincidental. This is also its Achilles heel. The plot is shallow and winds down a familiar path.

To wit, the leads are photogenic. The story is straightforward and tropey. The production is decent. The young cast did well enough. The ML is a bit stiff but that’s par for the course. The FL has more work to do, and she earned her keep. The SML’s role is largely redundant. It injected a tiny bit of angst but that’s about it

The show is solid if uninspired. I certainly won’t go out of my way to hunt it down. If you stumbled across it then it is a decent weekend binge (it is only 9 x 22 mins eps after all). The interaction between the leads is cute, and there is nothing inherently offensive to disturb your inner peace. I enjoyed the show while it lasts. It is a one-time watch for me.

Simple and Cute

I liked it. It's nothing much: not much drama, not much budget, not much rythm.... but if you take it as it is, it's actually quite cute and heart warming.

The plot itself is kind of cliché and you know right away how it's going to end. Still, their journey through married life is endearing and the mains are sweet both individually and together. If you're used to japanese cheesy acting, their awkward and quirky moments will have your heart.

There are specific moments that I particularly enjoyed, such as, for example, the whole 'being intimate without love' thing. It was unexpected from this kind of dramas that usually either never mention s*x or on the opposite make a giant deal out of it as if the characters were teenagers.
Also, I liked the dynamic between the two. I'm so sick of dramas where the man (or the more masculine figure in case of BL/GL) is always in control of his feelings and whatever evolvs around them, especially when he's a CEO or something similar. They always act like nothing can surprise them and always stay put while the feminine figure panics on their own. Here, Donose actually panics a lot and Miyagi is as much in control as he is.
Their acting, especially in the few crisis scenes, was awesome. (SPOILER) The scene in Ep 8 where Miyabi comes back after running away, when Donose tries to talk to her and then kiss her when she tries to leave again was phenomenal.

Now, I do think that it was long and a bit boring sometimes too. More than anything, I rolled my eyes around the last episodes each time they listed to themselves all the reasons they liked each other, because they kept bringing up the same 2-3 things each time as if they had shared nothing else during the 6 months (like Miyabi saying that Donose let her be herself and always refer to that one and only time where he said she should get the dress she wants) I don't know if this is a poor decision from the director or if they didn't have enough budget to shoot other scenes but yeah, that made the romance a bit more superficial.
The end was also too abrupt for me. Once again, maybe it's because of budget but they should have shorten all the flashbacks and "lost in thoughts" moments to leave space for a longer ending with a more impactful redemption process and maybe more of their happy married life at the end.

To conclude, it was a nice watch, perfect if you're not looking for something too deep. People are being harsh on this one and I think those who like simple and sweet romances should give it a try.

A big miss, would not recommend

At this point, I really don't know if it's the show or the whole genre of Jdrama that is not working for me. This one was another miss for me.

The story is not coherent. It's like putting together some random scenes one after the other that make sense chronologically but there's no real sense story-wise. Out of nowhere their work scenes come and out of nowhere they are trying to explore their relationship. The story in itself is not very impressive. It is basically founded on the theme of miscommunication (maybe even lack of communication) - a trope which seems to be used in all the limited Jdramas I've seen. There is literally nothing to this story - no depth to either of the characters. There is some sentiment behind the ML (1%) but the FL's character falls flat in your face with no background or substance whatsoever which happens because of poor writing wherein they have not explored anything personal about the characters whatsoever. It is literally just a show about two people getting married, living together, falling in love and not confessing and then misunderstanding with an eventual happy ending. Add to that the arc of a second male love interest - super frustrating. I CAN'T RECALL ANY OTHER SHOW THAT MADE ME THIS FRUSTRATED, lol.

Also, I did not like Yuuka at all. She seemed super expressionless to me.

It'll be best to skip this one. If you've already started, all the best trying to finish it. The only thing that kept me going was maybe she will get out of this stupid arrangement, lol.

When a business marriage goes wrong

I originally was debating on watching this, but saw someone’s comment saying that any show with the word marriage is always gonna be a good drama. It actually was I have already seen Tsukasa in Minato’s laundromat and I’ve seen Shion in eternal yesterday so they were gonna be one of the reasons why I watch this, I normally don’t watch straight dramas because sometimes the girls are a bit to much for me, but Miyabi was so amazing that I literally loved her way more than Tsukasa. I will be saying spoilers so be aware.
The whole plot started when Miyabi’s boyfriend of a long time broke up with her and she had to be stuck in a restaurant dealing with that pain and while she was walking out she bumped into Tsukasa. Later while Miyabi was working as a realtor she was told by her boss that she can live in it, but she needs a boyfriend in order to live their so when Tsukasa came to look at the house they both found out that they needed to date someone, Miyabi needed Tsukasa to help promote her apartment so it can have more buyers because it’s meant for couples and Tsukasa needed to marry a girl because his parents want him to marry someone. In order for them to date Tsukasa made Miyabi sign both a marriage contract and a divorce contract, but the rule is that neither of them can like each other and if they did they would have to divorce immediately. After a long time has passed they both realized that they both made each other find out something new about themselves which is what a healthy couple is, but slowly Miyabi started to have feelings for Tsukasa that she couldn’t shut down so she had to talk to his best friend Shion about it and he gave her advice, but Miyabi told him about the marriage contract and how she can’t like him, but she can’t help have feelings for him and Shion responded with “if you were with me I wouldn’t let you cry at all and you can love me” all I thought was that I kind of ship Shion and Miyabi because Tsukasa doesn’t even know if he has feelings for Miyabi. Then in the last two episodes Miyabi told Tsukasa that she couldn’t hide her feelings anymore and that they should get divorced since she broke the rules and Tsukasa agreed to it, but when theirs probably 10 minutes left of the last episode Tsukasa finally found out what he feels for Miyabi and they got married and fell madly in love with each other and the last 30 seconds I just wanted that vibe to be the whole show. I loved when Miyabi had someone to talk to which was Shion even if her had feelings for her he did help her figure out that she likes Tsukasa and can’t hold it in anymore and always comforted her when Tsukasa made her sad. I loved Shion last line which was “so this is what heartbreak feels like” and I did burst out laughing. Overall the show was pretty good and I didnt regret watching it also the intro song by bullet train is such a bop. Anyways I do recommend this drama.

It was okay....

An easy binge, with some good lines, a more or less predictable plot with an interesting take on sex, love and marriage. There is very little chemestry between the two leads, especially compared to the male lead and his friends (both of them),. I am trying to figure out if the lack of chemistry is intentional or not so this could be me not fully getting "it".

The acting feels awkward in a bad way, and the cinematography is just boring...

But then again there are som pretty good lines and fun scenes in the bedroom making it an oaky watch for those in need of a filler.

Romcom series , light and enjoyable

I think movies were created to make us escape somehow , that's why i enjoy watching fluffy bubbly movies or tv shows , i don't think ( illness or seperations is always our realities , i don't get it why would we rate tragedy with such high rate ) i believe a movie can make your day , and it can reflect on your thoughts and whenever you are happy , you'll attract happiness ..
I love this tv show , i was filled with emotions and happiness ..

Not Good Enough

Japanese Drama '' Bijinesu-kon - Suki ni nattara rikon-shimasu '' is a short drama about a contracted relationship.

The drama has a pretty common story, which seems popular in Japanese romantic comedies: the contracted marriage. This time around, however, probably due to the length of the drama and the limited budget (I mean, most of the settings were green screen with a few pieces of furniture), the story was messy and was rushed, especially when it came to the twists, which were quickly resolved.

The performances, on the other hand, were enjoyable by everyone in the cast.

So, overall three out of ten. The drama was predictable, but it had its moments.
