Both are affair dramas except for this main reason: THE CHARACTERS ARE TOTAL OPPOSITE. The more you watch them, the more you understand them, the more you reflect about life. Actually, it is not a cheating drama for me. Rather a healing romance drama about four people entangled in a dangerous web just to show people that LIFE IS THIS SWEET. After watching, it will make you ask yourself, "How are you, my sanity? Stop messing my thoughts about life and love." My all-time favorite Korean Drama. No one beat it yet.

At first Shiho strongly turned down the idea, but eventually, she gave in because her husband was very persuasive. "We're just going to observe, okay?" Shiho said as she reluctantly agreed to it. Meanwhile, a former diplomat Mr. Kubozuka ran a couple exchange club, "Aquarium," with his wife in their house. At first, Shiho was being very cautious, but gradually, she got attracted to Mr. and Mrs. Kubozuka's charm and finally agreed to exchange couples with them. It seemed that their sex problem had disappeard and they had found happiness, but as it turned out, that was just the beginning of their nightmare...

If you want to continue down the road of dark melodrama and want to see more Lee Dong Wook than this may be the way to go. But be warned, A Bittersweet life in it's own way can be even darker than Hotel King with very little light hearted reprise. Like Hotel King, it also has a very good Romance, although the romantic couple have a completely different vibe.

Both very dark melodramas with a very handsome male lead going through great psychological pains.

Both feature "romance" but with a cynical tone.

Both have the same GREAT STRENGTH of Drama:
LAYERED CHARACTER INTERACTIONS that will make you think.

Yoshino Michi is 32 years old. She's been married for five years, but hasn't had sex for the last two. It's not as if she doesn't get along with her husband, it's just that the sex part is lacking. It was a bit unexpected, but one night when she when drinking with her colleague, Niina Makoto, she wound up confessing that her marriage had turned sexless. And then, a shocked Niina responded "My marriage is sexless, too," and smiled with a lonely look in his eyes.

Similar infidelity plot both ML & FL attract to each other. Both fall in love eventhough so many obstacles in front of them. Can they overcome it? This genre very interesting & is a must watch drama.
