The storyline of this drama is fairly unique and it took me a few episodes to understand what was going on.
This drama has some plot holes and some things that happened are less than credible.
However, what makes up for it is the commeraderie among the assassins. I really appreciate it that there is no love triangle or silly misunderstandings between lovers.
I really love Baron Chen’s character, Meng Xing Hun. He is the ultimate moody assassin who falls in love and is genuinely a nice guy.
The acting isn’t the best but all the characters are very watchable and not so two dimensional.
I would recommend this drama to those people who are bored with typical Chinese period dramas and want to watch something different.

Complex & Super Intriguing
Summary: if you are looking for comedy drama (as I was) don’t bother watching this in YouTube. Don’t start or else you’ll be hooked. I’ve watched so many recent dramas of 2020s, from Fuyao to Eternal Love and all the blahs.Recent drama delights you with breathtaking sceneries and kungfu dance. This Meteor Butterfly story is all about the story. It’s an intriguing story that borders to horror at times. I couldn’t believe that recycled same-old setting can render me to watch this whole drama. That’s how good the plot is. Just when you thought you’ve watched it all, you realize the old dramas are more realistic, more compelling, more human. This was aired 2010 . Most dramas around this period are very realistically painful in most areas. Overall, it was a very good story.
Pro:
-Great Casts. Expressions are amazing! Not overly done. Just right. The enemy guy has a gentle look but can change into a psycho.
-pro. Realistic. Nowadays, people shy away from rape and even a bare-skin one. It was done professionally, not with malicious intent to lure people.
-great psychology. The words and the whole drama gives you is a glimpse of reality of assassins. Princess Agents drama is about assassins but less depth compared to this one.
- Great twist and turn. nicely done.
Cons:
- I’m saddened by all the killings but it shows you how it’s done when warlords were out in the open.
- some scenes are bluff. The kung fu master is too fantastical. Fantasy.

Story: There are sides the Sun Mansion and the Roc King, I thought they were going at war and this is what the drama was about but it was mixed in not quite the main plot. The drama has more of everything in it instead of one main focus. Our main hero Meng grew up with three brothers and a so called "sister" as they are older now they repay her by assassinating people she assigns them to assassinate. Men is closest to Ye Xiang his best friend/brother. The task that's assigned to him and Ye Xiang is to kill Master Yubo and this lasts throughout the show. One problem I had with the plot was how rushed they ended the conflict between Sun Mansion and Roc King. There are dramas where they get around 40-60 episodes and I think this one should have gotten more episodes based on how they rush the ending to the conflict between Sun Mansion and Roc King. Also throughout the drama was who is the father of Xiao Die's baby. I thought it was great how Die was suffering around her from her family betraying her and being bullied by Lu Xiangchuan which made me cheer for someone to save her from this mess. I wished more of the fight scenes weren't always in the dark. Characters/Cast: My favorite character was of course the main hero Meng Xinghun. He fits most of the traits that I want from a hero. He doesn't start out weak and learning through out the series to become stronger, he is already skilled in his martial arts. He's a very skilled fighter, clever, serious look, wise, and caring. I enjoyed seeing him and Die along with baby together. I love it when a guy has to fight to protect his wife and baby. I thought Ye Xiang was kinda cool for a while but faded afterwards when Meng became more of the main guy of the drama to which I was confused who was the main character of this drama. I have no problems of Die and Master Yubo. Characters I dislike were Boss Gao (their "sister"), Lu Xiangchuan, and their other brother who was a prick.
Music: I liked the opening song more than the ending. There were some good background music for the moments with sadness but nothing that stand out to me.
Re watch: The drama is only 30 episodes which is short for a wu xia Chinese drama and I could easily watch this again.
Overall: This drama exceeded my expectations and its one of my favorite chinese dramas now maybe my favorite. I just wished this drama had more episodes 30 was too short. I think more people should watch this drama and you can find it on youtube.

Great lover and his woman story
I watched this drama 3/4 years ago but i come back again re-watching this one and decided to write my review. At first half of drama, I was frustated and dissapointed with one of male character as i thought he was supposed to be male lead but turn out he wasn't. Then this Hero came and stole my heart. I like his characters, he is calm, smart, great fighter but still soft hearted man. The Female lead is an innocent girl who grew up in a very strict environment, even though she is weak but she is not dumb. The two leads interactions really melt my heart. They have mutual understanding, caring one another, talk gently to each others, as matter of fact they don't have to talk much as they eyes speak volume how much they love and need each others. The male lead indeed has unconditional love for FML, he is a great lover who are willing to protect his woman and her family at any cost.What i like about this drama is the characters are well built, all cast really show they are talented. I like the ending as well, really satisfying. Baron Chen and Ivy Chen are one of my favorite CP now.
What i dislike..I skip alot, especially scenes involved Boss Gao, i mainly focus on CP and Master Yu bo and there is not enough exposure how Master Yubo taking revenge to his enemy, Flying ROC in the end.
Overall, It's a good drama, different kind of plot/story compare to other C costume dramas, not too draggy though at the beginning episode there is uncomfortable scene to watch.
