Wanida is a Thai Lakorn that came out in 2010. I just recently watched it and I loved it for many reasons.
1. I could really feel the chemistry between the male lead and female lead.
2. When Prajak, played by Tik, looks at Wanida,(played by Aff), I felt like he truly loves her. It was very believable.
3. The main lead doesn't always believe the evil characters lies blindly like many other male leads.

I would recommend this drama because it is one of the most romantic dramas in my opinion. This is a story line that has been used over and over. The man marries a girl but he loves another woman and promises to divorce and marry her. Even though it had a typical story line, I was worth the watch and I didn't get tired of the story at all. From beginning to end it was very entertaining.

Lastly, this drama is a bit more slow paced and the ending is pretty predictable but overall I loved it.

I don't have much experience watching dramas with the older generation of actors (Anne, Tik, Andrew, etc.) but I truly enjoyed this drama. Sure, there were small things I didn't like about it, but on the whole, I came away from it smiling and glad I watched it.
STORY: Quite well-done. Yes, the nang rai (Pisamai) is a little typical, aka super possessive and crazy. But they make an effort to show you that she really is hurt by Prajak's associations wih Wanida, which honestly is understandable. Prajak made me both want to pull my hair out and grin like an idiot at the same time. I appreciated that his character wasn't perfect, because we're human and no one is perfect. Lakorns often portray either the male or female leads as perfect little angels that can do no wrong, but that just isn't true in reality. None of us are like that. Prajak's hubris was that he couldn't stand up for himself. It drove me crazy, but his character was also kind, understanding, and loyal, which counteracted his weaknesses. Wanida's growth as a character really added to the drama. She starts out as a spunky, naive young woman who gets into trouble constantly; later, she matures a woman who still has that spunk, but has a little better idea of when and how to channel that spunk.
I liked that while this was an arranged marriage drama, the leads didn't follow all the stereotypes, such as sleeping together, having to kiss at social events, etc. I also liked that Prajak didn't fall into the lakorn stereotype of the nang rai accusing the nang ek and the male lead blindly believing the nang rai. Prajak reminded Wanida that he "knows what kind of person she is," so when people talked bad about her, he would listen to her side of the story as well. The mother's "deathbed repentance" scene was a bit much, but whatever. And I had a hard time buying into the storyline with clearing Wanida's grandma's name because it just felt superfluous.
The story lags at the vety beginning and at the very end, but the pacing is good everywhere else.
Montree honestly made my life. He was hilarious and hot at the same time.
ACTING/CAST: I can't imagine anyone better than the people in the drama. Tik has got the loving look down-pat, he's on the same level as Colin Firth in that respect. Aff was simply gorgeous, and she did well in playing the naive, childish character without overacting and without becoming annoying. Wanida's father was hilarious. Prajak's brother was cute. The servants had AWESOME chemistry together, though Aunt Thom drove me crazy because of how badly she overacted.
MUSIC: Beautiful soundtrack. This is the only drama I've seen that didn't suffer from using the same music too often; the songs switched up once in a while, so you would expect the main theme, only to hear another very pretty and very fitting song. The only fault I found wih the soundtrack were the "soap opera" tracks used in a million other dramas for the dramatic moments. They felt out-of-place and a little obnoxious.
REWATCH VALUE: I would definitely watch this again, though probably just for Tik and Aff ;)
All in all, a very enjoyable drama that I highly recommend. Though it has its faults, the drama as a whole is so beautiful, any viewer will be willing to overlook its faults.

Following One's Heart

I stumbled upon this drama after getting hooked on My Cherie Amour and, lucky me, found all the episodes fully subbed in English! Like My Cherie Amour, it’s set in the 1940s, and wow, the outfits were stunning! Think full skirts, cute tops with capri pants—the kind of vintage glam that never gets old.

I was totally drawn into this story of a contract marriage between two polar opposites. The character growth for the leads (and a lot of the side characters) really kept me invested. I enjoyed watching Prajak, the male lead, struggle between his gentlemanly principles to honor the promises he made and his heart’s desire. Sure, his reasoning for ultimately choosing what he wanted felt a bit flimsy—he justified it by saying others didn’t keep their promises to him, so he didn’t have to honor his. But hey, it led him to follow his heart, so I was all for it!

The chemistry between Prajak and Wanida was just chef's kiss. They were perfect together, though I could see some might feel badly for the second female lead, Pisamai. She had her own struggles, but honestly, her snobbish attitude and "noble blood" nonsense made it hard for me to root for her. Wanida outshined her in every way, making it an unfair fight from the start.

Prajak was such an attractive male lead - super handsome, principled, had much to offer but he definitely had his flaws. His jealous fits often clouded his judgement and he had a very sarcastic tongue. His sense of fairness was both his best quality and a negative trait in some sense. He respected his mother but refused to mistreat Wanida based on others’ gossip, which was refreshing. Yet, he kept trying to be fair to Pisamai and hurting Wanida indirectly by paying attention to Pisamai even though he’d clearly lost interest in her.

Another big plus for me was Prajak’s respectfulness. Unlike some Thai dramas from that era, Prajak was a true gentleman. There was one surprised forced kiss, but even that felt like an outpouring of his pent-up feelings rather than a predatory, boundary-crossing moment.

Wanida was a total star—gorgeous, talented, and smart. She wasn’t some damsel in distress, either; she could give as good as she got. Raised a bit spoiled with a mischievous side, she could be impatient, quick to judge and unreasonable. Her unconventional interests like horse-riding and car-driving clashed perfectly with Prajak's old-fashioned values which deemed such activities as male ones. By the end, both of them grew—Wanida became more grounded, and Prajak opened his mind.

Some viewers called Prajak a "cheater" due to the emotional tug-of-war with Pisamai, but there was no physical cheating. The skinship was mostly arm-clinging and hugs from Pisamai’s side. But Prajak and Wanida's mostly accidental physical closeness—the longing looks, the unplanned touches—created all the romantic moments I needed. There was definite chemistry between those two and the way Prajak gazed and stared at Wanida was quite swoony.

The one downside? The background music. It felt out-of-place in many scenes, dated and, at times, way too loud, but that could just be the version I watched. The OST wasn’t quite my style either, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall experience.

Overall, this drama was worth every minute. The leads’ back-and-forth dynamic had me entertained from start to finish.

I LOVED IT SO MUCH
This the first drama that im thinking of re-watching again.

The thing i like is the whole plot, the comedy is incredible insane, the girl dress are so beautiful, she is beautiful and kind, her father is a gem lmaooo , her worker too,

Her man is so handsome and attractive
He acts so good, but he does get on my nerves sometimes.

The thing i dislike is that when someone do something to her and says sorry to her, she forget them easily even tho they do it again and again like for 10x

Eventually through the whole drama i loved everything, is perfect. Is a Happy ending that important for me.

I Love, Love, Love it!

I really love watching this drama of Wanida (2010). I have already watch it (3) times. Prajak is such a handsome young man but, such a pushover when it came to Pisamai. When Prajak wanted some alone time with Wanida just to take her out to dinner. Pisamai just so happens to pop up at the right time and invites herself along. Now that puts Wanida in a awkward position sitting in the restaurant with the two of them all cozy. I found myself yelling at the T.V. saying speak up Prajak!
But overall I loved Wanida's character, she was a fighter at times. The only thing that I didn't care too much for is that she was too forgiven and the father (Dao) was defiantly my favorite character. He was too funny! Not only didn't he take no mess from anyone. He knew exactly how to put people in there place and he always had his daughter's best interest at heart.

The cliché that always works.

I really enjoyed watching this drama. Like many of the commenters, I did put this one off a couple of times. I just wasn't feeling the vibe and all but I'm really glad that I finally downloaded it and took the leap. I enjoyed the slow burn romance the best. Yes, there were very irritating scenes, the constant push and pull get tiring and a bit too draggy at times but it made the ride much more enjoyable.

Here, you will focus on the growth of the characters and their respective personalities. You will come to understand their pains and struggles. Pisamai was indeed a pitiful character. She lost the man she loves in a way no one would imagine. I understood her but I did not agree with her. Love was supposed to be freeing and not suffocating like hers. In the end, she came to terms with it.

The mother was also annoying. The variety of characters just made this drama a lot better. I also appreciate that it was never too heavy to handle. They put comedy in all the right places. They made me hate and love the same people at the same time.

Prajak was a good ML, although at some times spineless but you can come to terms with it. He was doing it for his family, for the promises he made, he was, in his mind, being honorable. Wanida, our FL was a spunky girl with a good heart, she was gentle but she knows when to be mad or when to fight back.

Tho, the best character for me would be Khun Dao, Wanida's father. He loves his daughter like a gem. He was always looking out for her, guiding her, and backing her up. He did not raise her to be weak but he was always there to support her.

So, if you're just like me who keeps on putting this one off, don't be. Watch this gem and enjoy the ride. The quality will be shotty but I hope you'll stay for the story. Plus Tik's just an eye candy soooo. Go ahead!

What of the WORST lakorns I have ever seen!

I finally made it through 16 miserable episodes. Reading through all the reviews before watching, I expected this would be a cute lakorn. The result? I barely watched the last 7 or so eps and I had to skipped through most of them. I have only 2 things to like in the lakorn: The music and Pisamai lmao.

I will not ignore the fact that Pisamai is a mean girl, but she deserves A LOT better. Yai and Pisamai were just 6 months away from their wedding when Khun Dao decided to jump in and steal Yai from her. When Pisamai confronted Khun Dao, he acted like Pisamai was the bad guy here, but in fact he destroyed her future just to find some justice for Khun Montha. Yai promised several times to Pisamai that he would never love Wanida. When he realized his feelings for Pi was not the same, he did not tell her a thing until ep 14 - 15 Jesus Christ!!! I love Aff Taksaorn but I hate Wanida so much. I cried a lot for Pisamai but did not shed a tear for Nid. I feel like Pisamai can really be the protagonist of a Club Friday storyline hehe :) Is CH3 interested in making a lakorn about Pisamai? I want to know what happened to her after she left Mahasak House.

Oh by the way the costumes are really cute!

initially i thought its going to bore me but its said " without opening box" you never know whats inside hmmmm yes ! I know in that case people also get fooled to open every box in wish to get some surprise but in most of the cases surprise become disaster for them

i'm happy that i watched it the 1st thing came in my mind before starting it the drama is from 2010 i planned to watch it in 2018 if the drama is hit from that time can it have same impact after 8 yrs may be yes or no !

for me its worth to watching yes it have impact on me but not that much that i give it 10/10 so i gave it 7/10 behind it i have two reasons 1st may be its old drama for me 2nd all thing are good in this drama the only one thing can't understandable for me to prove someone innocence people don't need to marry to evil family there are many other ways for that

anyways makers need some reasons to develop feelings between leads . some times we don't like any part of drama or story-line or any character specially those guys which make trouble to main lead but people forget if things go smoothly their is no interest longer

so i'm hook up from 1st episode what make me to continue it till the end ? the innocence, cuteness , chocolate romance, chemistry of main leads . both leads are charming that you fall for them. the funny part is father of FL he make me laugh with his good acting skill.

SHOULD I RECOMMEND THIS ?

NO: for diabetic patient cause their is more sweetness of couple can make you die . only for those who are not interested in family dramas and wish to watch drama focus on main lead more not other nonsense thing , and who are waiting for great story line cause i already mention it some part of this drama is logic- less

YES: but those can watch it who want to see nice/ great/cute chemistry of couple and bit by bit growing their relation
