Ruba1029's Weekend Korean Movie Picks

Hi There!

MOVIE TIME, so I picked there 3 Korean movies of different genres that I really enjoy talking about; I'll try to keep this short but I tend to talk a lot about dramas and movies, we'll see how I'll do when this article is over.

Year: 2011
Genre: Comedy, Horror, Romance

Chilling Romance aka Spellbound
Synopsis: This movie follows the story of Yoo Ri (Son Ye Jin), a woman who has the ability to see ghosts. She leads a lonely life isolated from the rest of the world until she meets Jo Goo (Lee Min Ki), a street magician who offers her a job. He's always curious about Yoo Ri... What happens when he discovers her supernatural ability ???? And will they have any obstacles in their way ?????

Thoughts: I really enjoyed this movie. There's a lot of scenes that will make you laugh, and the whole ghost theme makes it a perfect Halloween movie to watch this week, if you're done trick or treating.
So if you like the horror/romance genre (like The Master's Sun :] ) then this movie is for you. Oh and Lee Min Ki is adorable here.

Anna Chen (Tang Wei) is a Chinese woman living in America. In jail for a crime she committed, she gets a chance to go out for 3 days to attend her mother's funeral in Seattle, where she later runs into this Korean guy called Hoon (Hyun Bin). Hoon is a male escort, and they spend those 3 days together talking about their problems and developing feelings, even though they don't understand the other person's language.

Thoughts: I watched this movie for Hyun Bin of course and it was a nice watch, though at times I felt things were weird (like when they imagined a couple dancing, I don't know what the director meant for that). Still it's a good movie with great scenery.. I love watching movies where language is a barrier between 2 people and yet they're able to communicate.

Year: 2006
Genre: Comedy, Romance

Here we have Robin Heiden (Daniel Henney) who just came from America to Korea, and in his first day there his car gets hit by another driver behind him. The driver is Min Joon (Uhm Jung Hwa), who's put in an embarrassing position, and to make matters worse she later finds out that he's her new boss.

Thoughts: ahhhhh I remember I watched this right after My Name is Kim Sam Soon to see Daniel Henney in a leading role. In this movie he only speaks English. So there's again 2 languages being spoken. If you're in the mood for a fun, simple and romantic movie then watch this.

ENJOY the movies
And if you've already seen any one of them make sure to share comments with other people by writing in the comments below (whether you recommend it or not).
