Anime That Should Be Made Into Dramas: Part 3
I remember watching this anime a while back, and I enjoyed the action in it :). If this were made into a live action, it would be one of those action packed samurai fighting ones. This would be great if done correctly. One thing that would make this unique if a live action would be the samurai outfits XD and if made into a live action it would also need some CGI here and there. Personally, I think this would be better off if made into a film ‘Hollywood’ style. Then it would get the funding it needed to be great and not end up looking cheap, and I personally think the actors would have to be Japanese. As for cast I’m really unsure. What do you guys think?
Spirited Away
In my opinion, I did feel that this film was hyped up perhaps a bit much. Personally I liked Howl's Moving Castle more than Spirited Away, but I totally loved this too. Like in my previous article, I feel that Spirited Away as a live action would be epic but also near impossible, perhaps more than Howl's Moving Castle. I mean with all the ghosts, spirits, and monsters that are about you would either need a lot of money for the CGI or the costumes. If made into a live action, I would like for it to be a ‘Hollywood’ film in that the cast is from all over the world and not just Asian. I’d love to see it directed by Guillermo del Toro. For those who don't know him, he directed and wrote the film Pan's Labyrinth which was a dark Spanish fantasy about a little girl who lives during the war and well I don't want to spoil it for you but its awesomely dark and creepy—I recommend you all watch it but not those who are a bit squeamish and don't like deep dark films. If made into a live action I'd love to see then use a combination of good CGI and costumes can you imagine a radish spirit costume a realistic looking one XD I’d totally buy it and wear it around lol.
I only watched this anime recently and I found it really cute :). Although I have seen variations of the storyline before in live actions, I just feel this one was super cute. For those who haven't seen this anime its about a girl who is anti-social and doesn't see a need to have friends but deep down does want some, but one day the most popular guy in school kisses her and her life changes and they then overcome things together and she begins to make friends. Now from what I have heard there is already planning, and I think they may have started filming a live action film of this anime, which I really cant wait to see I just hope its great like the anime. Now for which country makes a live action I’d say more Japan I just feel that the type of high school romance in the anime is better suited to japan. Now casting once again I'm really clueless when it comes to Japanese actors :(. What do you guys think?
Now this anime is an oldie but a real classic one from my childhood that I loved XD, and it is in need of a desperate remake. There was already a live action adaptation like 10 years ago which I haven’t really seen, mainly because if I find episodes it is awful quality and not subbed :(. So I am begging for a remake. Personally I’d rather see Korea do a live adaptation this time instead of Taiwan, I feel that they could carry out the story well. Now for casting...
Choi Minho as Yuu
I feel that he can pull off the cheeky charismatic but cute and sweet character that Yuu is, and I also feel Minho’s acting has improved since he gained more roles in dramas so why not give him more of an opportunity to show he can act :). But I do worry that if he were to take the role that people would only watch the drama for him. Plus there is the fact that he is an idol, and I wouldn't want the drama to become an idol cast. Plus I feel he may be a bit too old?
or there is...
Yeo Jin Goo as Yuu
He is a great young actor and every one of his dramas that I have seen he plays the role really well, and he will no doubt be a greatly handsome actor in the future ;) (pedo noona). I feel that he is also of the right age to play this character, and he could not only play out Yuu’s cheeky side but also his sad and cold sides.
Kim So Hyun as Miki
Just like Jin Goo she is a great young actress who will be great in the future. I chose her because I feel that after seeing her play out the character in the drama Ma Boy that she can play the role of Miki well as the characters do have the similarities, but I do wonder whether she would be too young to act out some of the romance scenes—in Ma Boy she only got a kiss on the forehead and nothing more :(. I feel she may also be a bit too sweet to pay the role of Miki in particular when Miki has her fits of rage
or there is...
Kim Yoo Jung as Miki
She is also another great young actress. I chose her because I feel she not only looks similar to Miki but also can pull of the role as in the cute side to Miki but also the fits of random rage she has, plus I feel that she would be able to act out the romantic scenes more because of her age :) plus I loved her chemistry with Jin Goo in Moon That Embraces the Sun and I’d love to see that chemistry reused for this live adaptation
another idea...
If Minho was cast, I would love to see Ryu Hyun Kyung cast too. I mean looking at the pictures just makes me think of the chemistry between Yuu and Miki. Plus I loved Minho's and Hyun Kyungs chemistry in Salamander Guru, but I do feel that she is too old to play the role of 16 year old Miki.
I also found this random fan made live action trailer for Marmalade Boy.
This anime I had to think about for a long time. In general, it would be good as a live action with the message within it and also just the character development, and how they interact with each other. The thing I had to ponder over for a long while was the whole transformation sequence. In the anime, it really reminded me of Sailor Moon transformation. I have seen live action clips of this, and well it just doesn't work and is corny. So I was thinking of having the same storyline but cutting out the transformations? For those who haven't seen this anime, its about a young teenage girl whose father remarries a rich woman and then she has 2 stepsisters. Well, the young girl feels like she doesn't fit in and feels like no one would even notice or care if she were to just vanish. Just as she thinks that 7 men appear in front of her claiming to be "Leafe Knights" and that she is their saviour who will help them save her world from the dark princess. Then there is the whole idea that she "preets" with them by the touch of the hand and then gains super powers to help fight the demonic monsters. In-between all this you have some secret stories of the dark princess, her family issues with her stepsisters and her dealing with her feeling for one of the knights. I feel if this were to be a live action, it could be a story based on the same idea of knights from another world and saving her world from darkness, but instead of transforming with them she somehow helps them to fight... I don't know I just feel that the transformation process wouldn't go well in live action even with great CGI it would still look corny :/. Some things only work in anime. As to which country made this into a drama I'm unsure although I'd like to see Taiwan give it a try and perhaps not Japan (it could become like Sailor Moon).
This anime I admit I did not complete because I watched it as it came out and videos were hard to find let alone subbed ones... I need to finish it sometime, but I did get about halfway through it and love it. If made into a live action, it would be pretty cool, one of those action packed ones with a bit of fantasy here and there. But if made into a live action you would need a big budget to pay for the CGI I’d say a fair bit would be needed. One thing I’d love to see in this anime is the bromance between the main character and his friend :). I’d rather Japan made this into a drama. I feel they would be able to balance out the CGI, action scenes, and fantasy elements.
This anime is another action packed one with possible hints of yaoi :P. The anime is based around ninjas and samurais and a weapon that is hidden within a boy who seems to be quite frail and, well, feminine and doesn't care much for anything. What I loved about this anime is the interactions between the characters :). I’d love to see it acted out, and the number 1 thing I’d love to see is a live action Yoite :P such a handsome and cool guy but so sad and depressing :(. Another thing I’d love to see is the moments between Yoite and Miharu, the bromance/yaoi lol. Although it's a different kind of bromance, it's more Miharu crushing on Yoite. Anyway, if it were made into live action, I think I’d like to see Korea have a go at doing ninja samurai. As long as they don't mess it up. Although dramas like Iljimae are pretty good.
I admit I haven't gotten around to completing this drama and have only seen the first 2 episodes. But it seems really interesting in that a girl lost her memory and with the help of a magical spirit she tried to regain her memory. Now this was a novel that was adapted into a game series and then eventually an anime. So it must have a pretty good story line, and I cant wait to finish the anime. From what I have seen so far, the anime to live action seems quite possible in that the only CGI needed would be the spirit. Although, like with 49 Days and the scheduler, the spirit could be a human that only she can see :). One thing I will say is: if she is surrounded by all these gorgeous men how could she forget who they are XD? For which country makes it I'd say Korea again just because I really like 49 days and I feel this is similar and they could adapt it well XD ...OMG Il Woo could be the spirit!... lol lost it for a bit there. Il Woo is gorgeous though :P.
