2 PM's Hwang Chan Sung will return to the Japanese drama scene.
On February 13, it was officially confirmed that Hwang Chan Sung will be leading the upcoming Japanese drama titled Jun Kissa Inyeon (Pure Coffee Connection). This will be his return to the Japanese drama scene after several years.
According to his agency L' July Entertainment, Hwang Chan Sung will star in the upcoming drama and will join the filming soon. The agency also revealed that the Japanese series will premiere next month.
Hwang Chan Sung last starred in the 2023 K-drama Bo Ra! Deborah with Yoo In Na, Yoon Hyun Min, Joo Sang Wook, Girls Day's Park So Jin, and iKON's Koo Jun Hoe.
He will also join the upcoming K-drama Our House led by Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hye Young, Kim Nam Hee, Yeonwoo, and Lee Joo Young.
Hwang Chan Sung is known for being part of the K-dramas Show Window: The Queen's House, So I Married an Anti-Fan, Touch Your Heart, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and more.
Aside from being active in his acting career, Hwang Chan Sung is also active in all the activities of his K-pop boy group 2 PM.
Jun Kissa Inyeon (Pure Coffee Connection) will revolve around the handsome Korean master Si Woo who runs the retro coffee shop on the outskirts of a shopping mall. It will showcase his story as well as the stories of the people who visit the place.
Hwang Chan Sung will portray the role of Si Woo, the Korean cafe owner.
The upcoming series will be produced by FujiTV and Hikari TV.
The 2 PM member shared his thoughts on being part of the cast of Jun Kissa Inyeon, "I am very honored to lead the new Japanese drama produced jointly by FujiTV and Hikari TV. I will do my best for this project. After reading the script of the series, I thought it was a heartwarming story."
Jun Kissa Inyeon will begin airing on March 30, 2024. It will have a total of four episodes.
